Cute little boutique toy store. They have a few locations, but this one is in such a great location in downtown La Jolla. Purchased the 1st Christmas present for 2026 already, as well as a few Jellycats! Highly recommend to stop in & browse!

A great store for kids and grown ups alike! The staff is super helpful and knowledgeable and can help you find something interesting and fun for every age. Lots of great creative toys and games in addition to the usual Barbies and Legos and stuffed animals. The displays are a colorful delight as well. Free gift wrapping, they do a beautiful job! Honestly my favorite store in La Jolla.

I was surprised by how good Puesto was, especially as a vegan. They actually have solid veggie options, which is not something you can always count on. I ordered the calabasita and mushroom taco and it was flavorful and really well done. Fresh, balanced, and satisfying. My friend had the cantina chicken bowl and said it was full of flavor and really good as well. The Cadillac margarita was excellent, smooth and strong. Definitely one of the better ones I’ve had. The staff at the bar was friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. The atmosphere was great too. Relaxed, welcoming, and a nice place to sit and enjoy your food. Overall, Puesto delivered good food, good drinks, and a good experience. I’d absolutely go back.

This was a great experience! I went here with my extended family and we had to wait outside to be seated for a time. However, they knew about this and were very apologetic. They were very nice about us having to wait. Our food was great and the aguas frescas were delicious too. And we loved it. Overall, it’s a nice and great restaurant in La Jolla and I’m glad that we went. Great experience!

Pusto Restaurant in La Jolla is an absolute gem. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented—every dish tasted thoughtfully prepared and high quality. She was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, offering great recommendations and making sure everything was perfect throughout our visit. It’s so great! They have the best tacos EVER. I suggest the lobster tacos. We also loved the calabacitas , filet mignon and tamarind shrimp. Delicious salsa w the chips. The service is fast. I recommend coming here on a Tuesday to get half price on tacos! The reason I only gave a four star on the atmosphere was because it’s a little loud. Vanessa is an amazing server. She has a great personality. Great for a family. Fun vibe, killer food.

Love this place so much that I make sure to stop by every time I’m in San Diego! The flavors and textures in the tacos are perfectly balanced! I also enjoy the salsa flight here. The chips are not bad, but could be a little higher quality to match the rest of the food here.

Warm welcoming atmosphere. Knowledgeable wait staff. Described food choices and offered suggestions based on our questions. Salsa for initial chip basket was enjoyed by all four of us. Flautas with chicken was flavourful. Carne burrito was moist and seasoned well. Quac three flight was spicy, cheesy and traditional. Ez parking on Wall Street at the time we were there. Umbrella shades at every outdoor patio seating area.

Excellent Mexican food in La Jolla! Came here because of its stellar reputation and it did not disappoint. It’s less than a 10 minute walk from La Jolla Cove and surrounded by plenty of shops and stores. Their menu offers a diverse array of tacos and their margaritas are excellent. Special shoutout to their guacamole sampler… some of the best guac I’ve ever had. The pricing is very reasonable relative to the area and the portion sizes are sufficient. The staff and overall service were excellent and came through with suggestions. The outdoor seating makes it a great spot to eat with friends or family while enjoying the San Diego weather. Highly recommend!

WOW!!! I didn’t think a steak taco could change my life, but it did. The guac and pistachio tres leches were also unreasonably good! The sweetest part of the meal though was our waitress Hannah! What an absolute blessing!!

Nice place for upscale Mexican in a laid back setting. Service was friendly and welcoming. Food is really good! We had a few different tacos which were all amazing. Watermelon margaritas were so refreshing, ask for level 2 heat if you want to add a little spice. Buen provecho!

Sweet little toy store in the heart of the village. You'll find a gift for sure, but if you're seeking cheap toys you'll want to head to a big box store. This little shop has everything you could want if you're shopping with a discerning eye.

Cute little toy store with a deceptively good selection of toys, especially educational ones. I still wish it was a little bigger though. They employees are knowledgeable and helpful. They’re also patient with the children that just can’t quite seem to keep their hands in their pockets, and end up playing with more than they should.

It has quite a small inventory though so if your looking for alot of toys you may want to go somewhere else. However if your looking for toys out of the norm that are fun and exciting this would be the place.

We went here yesterday for brunch and they were great! They had plenty of space and accommodated us being 10min late to our reservation. The food was delicious with our favorites being the Nogada guacamole, which was really unique with the nuts and fruit on the guac, and the cripsy crab and shrimp tacos as well as the wagyu brisket taco. All of the guacamoles are a little sweet because of the orange in it. It was unique and felt very fresh. I also really enjoyed their salsa with nice fresh chips! We also got the baja fish taco and the grilled shrimp taco which I felt were just okay. The prices are a little expensive at $10+ per taco and they add an additional surcharge as well but the food quality seems pretty good. There is a taco tuesday deal for half off tacos which would be a pretty good deal. There was multiple spots for free street parking a couple of blocks away though parking may be more difficult in the summer months

Stopped by Puesto in La Jolla and honestly it’s a pretty good spot overall. We tried the al pastor chicken bowl and tacos both flavorful, well-seasoned, and satisfying without being too heavy. The 4-salsa chips were really good (loved the variety), though the portion size was a bit small for sharing. The pistachio tres leches was a pleasant surprise soft, nutty, and not overly sweet. Perfect way to end the meal. Drinks-wise, the cucumber margarita was super refreshing, light, and balanced definitely recommend if you’re not into overly sweet cocktails. Overall vibe: lively, modern Mexican with good flavors Food: solid, tasty Portions: slightly on the smaller side Would I go again? Yes, especially for tacos + margaritas ⭐ Rating: 4/5 Perfect for a casual La Jolla meal when you want good food, fun drinks, and a nice atmosphere 🌴✨

First time trying Puesto and lucky us it was Taco Tuesday which is 50% off tacos. I was in the mood for fajitas but I was disappointed it was not on the menu. Excellent consolation was Taco Tuesday. We ordered chips and salsa. The chips are a little thicker and definitely not greasy. Thank you! I ordered one chicken, one fillet mignon and one carnitas taco. I’m not a spicy loving person so I got all the sauces on the side. All three tacos are stuffed with meat on a blue tortilla. The tortillas are smaller than normal but it was stuffed full. The chicken was very tender and moist. The fillet mignon was tender and it had a nice char and smoked flavor. The carnitas taco was ok but not on the same level as the chicken and fillet. Excellent from everyone we encountered at the host stand and Devon our server. This restaurant has an upbeat vibe.

I was very disappointed with my purchase. We were sold a broken toy. the box when we bought it was not in great condition but I didn’t think anything of it because I bought it from a well know store. But when we (Santa) gave it to my son on Christmas morning, we noticed it was missing the top to the ladder. We must have been sold a return product with missing parts. Geppetto’s has always been one of the reasons we enjoy visiting UTC—my daughter, who is on the autism spectrum, loves picking out sticker books and exploring the toys. Unfortunately, today’s experience left us feeling unwelcome. During a moment of sensory overload, my daughter accidentally knocked over some toy boxes. I immediately apologized, and while the asian employee initially said “it’s okay,” her expression quickly changed once she realized we are not white people. Her visible annoyance and lack of empathy were disheartening—especially in a store that caters to children and families of all backgrounds. This kind of response, especially toward a child with special needs, was disappointing and hurtful. Sadly, we won’t be returning.
