What's not to love. Amazing dive bar with pool and karaoke. Drinks are reasonably priced. The bathrooms have great graffiti. Cash only so no paper trail.
We went here after St. Mary's College graduation and had a wonderful time in their outside bar area!

We always have fun at the roundup when we stop by for a drink or karaoke or pool and shuffleboard. This clamper bar has been around since longer before I turned 21 and they're a great part of downtown Lafayette. Between service at the bar and several tables, there's plenty of indoor seating, and their new-ish patio out back is great also and has a variety of tables and styles of chairs. Staff is wonderful and it's a positive and fun crowd most nights and afternoons.
This is actually the best thing bar in the area. It's been in business since 1935, but don't let that full you. It has a variety of antiques and pictures that will take you back in time. A place where all the locals go. Karaoke Wed, Thur, Sat and live music Friday. Outdoor Patio is amazing. The staff is excellent.
I'm giving 5 stars for many reason. A#1 reason is I spent many nights with my friends from many years back, and the place looks pretty.much the same. It's a time capsule, shuffleboard is original and the pool tables too I believe. Irish they had the original juke box, but yeah, I get.it. Roll in for a drink. This place is and was a legend. Back in the day, Wednesday night was the night to be there. $1 pitchers of beer and .10 12oz drafts. 🥰
I'll occasionally go there for Saturday night karaoke and there's usually a good mixed fun crowd. Drinks are cheap, there's a nice covered patio area in the back with plenty of tables and seating. There's also plenty of TVs to watch games.
Was driving by looking for food after a concert in concord and everyone in the car was like, that looks like a dope place, let's stop and deal with the food later. (They have yummy and cheap chips, so that helped..lol). We had such a great time our "let's just stop for a quick drink turned into last call, then bar time. Whoops. Dinner was not had, but Hella fun was. That ping pong table tho.... 👌 🤣 The lady bartender was awesome. The few peeps that were there when we arrived around midnight on a weekday were also super chill and cool. It was also free pool that day. Couldn't have a bad time if u tried! If I'm ever out that way again, ILL BE BACK! THANKS!
The one and only Round Up Saloon is a local landmark at this point. Strong pours, cold beers, and someone to have a good conversation with. Roxanne is nice if you're nice to her. I've had my problems with Shelly, but I respect her. Adrian's cool, but don't test him. Omar is a good dude to have an intelligent talk with . Mel is a really nice person once you establish a rapport with her. The rest of the bartenders are fine. Rich is a baller and one of the best human beings if you can get past his crunchy exterior to the sweet caramel center. I dont know the other bouncers, but im sure they're fine, too. Cash only in 2024? I wonder why? Owners are legends. Keep it up, guys. I'm proud of you.
Wow I love this place! They have the best cider, Schilling Cider, available in both draft and package. Mel is a superstar. I am definitely coming back!
I saw Cassandra’s boyfriend buy 5 Hams, chug 4 of them in the bathroom, then return to his gf with some story about the awesome bartender not giving him correct change. Anyway, the covered area really opened the place up.
Great little spot, a lot of history there, great folks and affordable drinks, what more could you ask for?

It’s a classic dive bar for the Lamorinda area. Nothin can top it if you’re just looking for a beer, some pool, friendly (and most likely buzzed) people both young and old. They have karaoke certain nights and live music others. The new fenced in back area that was a result of all the new regulations is actually a great use of space and one of my favorite parts about it now when the weather’s nice.

UPDATE: Backyard tent area is pretty nice, if you can stand the cigarette smoke. The parking lot has recently been paved. It's been a dirt lot for the 25 years I've been coming here. The smell has improved somewhat as they've renovated the bathrooms. I've not seen any cockroaches recently, so they seemed to have taken care of that problem. There's a soft spot in the floor near the back door (under which you'll need to duck if you're tall.) On the plus side, they have shuffleboard, pool tables, and live music on the weekends. Plenty of cold beer on tap. The spirit selection is definitely lower end. They don't have a great single malt selection, but it has recently improved with the addition of Laphroaig. This is not the place to take a client for a martini. This is a dirty, western dive bar.
I didn't rate food because i don't think they have it and if they did I didn't try it. This is an old school dive country bar with a huge covered patio and lots of tv's with long bar top tables. Don't look for a server and bring cash this is old school. Cash Only! It was odd to have a DJ there that night with a small dancing area, but most people were there to play pool, have drinks and hang with friends. Our wedding party crashed the bar and had a good time. The bartenders were great, and reminded me of my time tending at dive bar where it was quick chat and on to the next customer for their drinks. The Shuffleboard was my favorite part of the bar.

It was my first time exploring this venue. I'd driven by several times and was curious about it. I really wanted to like it. Believe me, I never want to see an establishment falter. I was very taken aback by the strong odor that hit me when I entered. I couldn't get past that. I anticipated an older saloon and wanted to enjoy that charm. If the (bathroom/wet rag) odor could be resolved, you'll have another regular down the line.
I never write reviews but from my experience I have to say this bar is kind of a joke. The bouncer they hired puts a bad face to their name. I came out on a whim with a friend to have a good time, instead he pocketed our IDs claiming they were fake. Maybe it was his height that made him insecure, but he acted very cocky and completely unprofessional. After refusing to give them back we decided to call the police. Once he heard us on the phone he ran to the back and decided to actually scan our ids properly. Totally unbelievable and deterred any desire to partake in this establishment. Living on East Carson st Pa, with over 40 bars on the strip, this has never happened to me. Considering checking IDs is the easiest job you could have on a slow night, Round Up Saloon needs to retrain their bouncers to work by the book, and act more professional. They are the first face you see when entering the business.
My wife and I been going to this place for bit and we live about 50 minutes away from this place almost whenever we are in the area. Other reviewers comment regarding the odor when you walk in is true! Bathroom are a yuk..most people are ok. But, watch out for some that works there. They are HATERS. That's right. Just giving the new guys a heads up just in case be very careful. The locals will never defend you as they have their tails tucked in. So, forget about being an American or you're right and first come first serve basis. Doesn't work in this establishment. They will be happy to take your money but, they will never care about what's right and who's wrong. We will never ever come back to this place ever again.
Me and some friends walked in and immediately the bartender looked at our friend that was a small person (29) and she said to her NO KIDS ! VERY RUDE ! We did not know to either walk out or stay . We're going to sit at bar but felt very uncomfortable so sat in back. We all felt bad for her ;-(
My boyfriend bought his last beer of the night. It was a Hamm’s it cost $4 and the bartender did not give us back our change we paid with a $20 bill. Absolutely unacceptable. I will never be back. Bartender was an older bald guy approximately late 40s early 50s. This happened on September 6th. The nerve is absolutely insane and I hope management sees this and contacts me ASAP.
