Great little spot! We stopped here after a fantastic (but long) day at Santa's Village just up the street, and it was just what the day needed. Mom and Dad shared a tasty Cadillac Margarita and a killer Molcajete with the entire kitchen sink in it, and the kids got some quesadillas and tacos that they had been craving all day. The chips and salsa were also really tasty. The service was super friendly and accommodating for our bigger group of 6. Versus having to wait to get back down the mountain to grab a bite on the way back home to San Diego, this was a great alternative. Would definitely do it again.
I never do reviews but this business goes above and beyond. Hands down best food on the mountain and great customer service. My family and I having been going here since they opened and appreciate the consistent quality they provide. Places like this are really rare to find these days.
I got a shredded chicken burrito. It was massive. They put a good amount of meat in it! It's very delicious! Will definitely be coming back!
I purchased the carne asada fries. They were delicious! I was greeted upon entering the restaurant. The employees were all very kind. They all smiles and had small talk with the customers. The restaurant was very clean and there are plenty of tables to dine in. I would highly recommend!
I think the portions are even larger than I remembered! We sat on the patio and enjoyed a taquito plate and a chicken tostada. My tostada had at least one breast of sliced chicken and more than enough guacamole and sour cream. Perfect for a warm summer night. Excellent friendly service and our meal was served quickly. We had a to go dinner and it was ready just as we were ready to leave. Always a good experience at Rosalva's.
Great atmosphere, cozy. The food is amazing, fresh and authentic. We will definitely be back.
Great patio restaurant. You can bring 2 to 20, and they'd accommodate you without a hassle. Lobster tacos are the must order for me. Their rice and beans are as good as my mom.
Our go to dinner place in the mountains! Love this place! Great food, service and it is the cliffhanger, you can't beat that view! Look down upon those flat landers from my superior mountain position! Highly recommend stopping here at least once. I have stooped back to the level of a mere flat lander after being in the mountains for years, you may now all look down upon me as I once did to you :(
I almost forgot too post! The Lobster Tacos are a must! They were so delicious and flavorful, just the perfect amount of seasonings. Salsa is always good and the staff are pretty friendly. Very highly recommended place for Mexican food!
Absolutely fantastic! Hands down best enchilada I've ever had! Kids loved their food, wife did too! Quick, delicious, and affordable! Will most definitely visit again next time we get up that way.
Sasa was one of the best I had ever experienced. Very good chips to go with it! Food tasted very good too! Try their cheese enchilada, it melts in your mouth full of flavor.
We were staying at the resort on the lake, thought we'd stop in for some Mexican. Never been to Hortencia's before, but the food and service was great. Free chips and salsa. Wife and I split the huge plate of food, didn't finish it all (although we tried because it was delicious). The waiter was very nice. The food came out quick. I'll be going back for sure.
We're making it a tradition to stop here when we visit Lake Arrowhead. Food is good, service is even better! Parking can be a bit tricky when it's busy
I love how from the minute you arrive you are acknowledged and attended to. I love the freshness of the food and the pride with which it is served. Stopped in for a to go order to take back to the cabin and enjoyed a delicious cocktail while I waited. Served with a smile! Love Rosalva's as they appreciate my business and serve really fresh food.
I had an outstanding experience at this restaurant! The customer service was impeccable—attentive staff, quick service, and a warm atmosphere. The lunch options were diverse and delicious, catering to various tastes. A definite five-star gem for those seeking a delightful dining experience. I recommend their burritos 🌯 and many other options, will come again!
We moved up to the mountain a couple years ago, and so far, this is definitely the best Mexican food we have found up here. An added bonus is that they manage to get the food out to you super fast! I'm amazed every time! This is definitely the place to come if you're really hungry and don't want to wait. The only draw back is that their inside dining area is very small. If you have a large party in the winter you'll want to find another location, but on warmer days, they have a very nice patio dining area that's fairly large. I definitely recommend it!
The best Mexican food in Lake Arrowhead.
The food was delicious and the salsa! I got a shrimp cocktail- other places would give you more tomatoes and onions than shrimp, but this place serves a good amount of food. My daughter and husband had chicken and beef enchiladas and they really enjoyed it. Service and place was great too, Mayra was very nice and helpful. I would recommend this place and come back.
Delicious shrimp fajitas cooked perfectly. We had a takeout order including sopapillas and the kitchen waited until we arrived to make them so everything was hot and fresh. Very nice touch.
I’m surprised to find such a great Mexican restaurant in the mountains! It’s one of the best I’ve ever been to. The fajita trio takes me back to Texas, where I lived for years. And the lobster tacos…what an amazing twist, combining high-end seafood with street food. Every bite is so flavorful and delicious. Plus the restaurant has a warm, homey vibe that’s perfect for gatherings with friends and family.
Service was so amazing! The waitress who helped us was so nice and the food came out quickly and tasted beautifully. Chefs kiss literally 😚🤌🏼. The mojarra was fried to perfection and the chile verde was amazing!
Food is great good price. Quick service
When you walk up… you have a choice of two restaurants. Good pizza or great Mexican food. Rosalia’s is staffed with folks who are sincerely glad you are there. Didn’t get that feeling next door. Pictured here is the owner Sean. He made a point to go to each table and personally thank them for being here. I love that! Food, service and ambiance were all wonderful! Go here!
Wonderful roadside Mexican restaurant. This location has both inside and outside dining. The menue has all the typical items for fare. I had the carnitas burrito packed with yummy pork.
Great place for chow, drinks, and socializing. The food is delish, the service is great. Plenty of patio space & perfect seasonal ambiance with outside seating both high & low. No liquor license (beer/wine only). Not to be confused with the much larger Hortencias on the lookout with amazing views! This location is Squirreled Away in Skyforest next to a pizza & deli with great food too. The chips & salsa are always fresh and on-point. I recommend the chile reyeños!
The food is so good and they are so fast . Love this place . The shrimp cocktail is bomb and my husbands loves the Huevos rancheros
A real find in the mountains. We had chili Verde and a beef tostada, both excellent and full of flavor. Service was fast and friendly and prices quite reasonable. Rosalva's may look like a random building on the side of the road but it is definitely worth a visit.

Really nice place, warm inviting people, and great food. Thank you
Everything was as expected! Good food and fantastic service. Truly couldn’t expect anything better. Maida, our server was on top of it; drinks and food with absolutely zero regrets.
Our go to for Mexican food in Lake Arrowhead. Take out is super quick and easy. There’s usually not a huge wait. Food is excellent.

Visiting Lake Arrowhead for the long three day weekend and given its popularity we plan to try LouEddie’s pizza next-door for dinner. When we arrived, we were told it would be a two hour wait so obviously we decided to head next-door to Rosalva ‘s. It’s important to know that it’s directly off the highway so be wary when pulling in or out of the parking. There are enough spaces for about a dozen cars, but if those spaces are full, you may have to choose another option. Inside is fairly small, but they have a large outdoor patio that is popular during the summer and warmer months. Service was very fast and the menu itself is very large. For this visit, I decided to try the Steak Wet Burrito and enjoyed it. It was a large sized portion and overall it was pretty good. It’s not quite as great as you get down at sea level, but given the location I would say it’s one of the best options in Lake Arrowhead for Mexican food. I would stop in again next time I am visiting and would recommend to any fan of Mexican cuisine.
I can't believe we have never ventured in here since my family's cabin purchase twenty some years ago! The location is directly off of highway 18, so be careful when pulling in or out. There are plenty of places to sit outside, 2 levels, as well as some inside. The menu has many options as well. We opted for the "daily specials", one plate of 2 beef tacos and one plate of 2 enchiladas, one beef and one cheese both plates $14.99. The choices were chicken, beef or cheese. While waiting for our food, we snacked on the complimentary chips and salsa; both rather bland. Some people must love it because on the front of the menu it stated each table is alloted two servings of salsa. There will be a charge after two. Our food came out fairly quickly and looked good. The beef taco wasn't shredded, more like cubed meat. Different and good. I had a bite of each of my husbands enchiladas for one of my tacos. Again, the cubed beef. The mexican rice had good flavor, the beans just okay. When the bill came, one of the plates was $15.99, instead of $14.99 as stated on the menu. I inquired and was told they have to upcharge because both the enchiladas were not the same. When ordering, great customer service would entail having declared the discrepancy to the patron. That did not happen. For our first time visiting, we enjoyed the food, for the most part. There are at least three Mexican food places within a five minute drive. Would I choose this one? Verdict still out. By the way, they do not have any Happy Hour regardless of what you may find on Google or Yelp.
Good quality Mexican cuisine. Chili Verde plate was especially good with delicious green sauce. Tostada could have more meat but otherwise fresh and well complemented with guacamole and sour cream. Chili Relleno very good. Outdoor seating spacious with tables well separated.
Amazing view, good food. We had the chicken fajitas, a torta n beef taquitos. All were yummi. This is one of my favorite places now. Breakfast was equally delicious. The mariachi can be loud, but it keeps it lively n they play for tips. If u like peace n quiet go for breakfast
Food was very flavorful the shredded beef was just right, never seen so many shrimp on a taco, chicken enchilada and Chile relleno(not pictured) was awesome with beans and rice can't wait to go back and try more... staff was very nice and on point I'd recommend this spot anytime.
Little packed, not a whole lot of room, but good tasting food.

Upon reading reviews about Rosalva's, I knew we had to go - it sounded great. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. When we arrived (2 adults, a 2.5 year old, and an 8 month old), a waitress inside grunted to us that we could pick any table outside. There was absolutely no view - maybe there's another patio that's more scenic? No one offered a high chair or a booster, but we made it work. The servers weren't nice - didn't smile, didn't make suggestions - and weren't particularly good (I spent 7 years waiting tables in my youth, so ALWAYS give servers grace). They didn't bring the extra plates that we asked for (the toddler was grabbing food off of a hot fajita plate - again, we made it work), and didn't come back in a timely manner to check on us after food was served. We ordered a plate of fajitas, which was HUUUUGE, with good meat quality. Unfortunately, they weren't very well-seasoned and only came with THREE tortillas. Even at the worst Tex-Mex places in Houston (my hometown), they give you 4 tortillas at a minimum! We also ate our small basket of chips with the salsa (which was tasty!), but were never offered more. Overall, we walked away from the experience wishing we had gone somewhere else to eat. Disappointing!
Rosalba is amazing!♥️♥️♥️ The margaritas as a Cadillac were Eh??? Asked for an extra shot of the tequila they use to make the drink it was still Eh??? The chips were not fresh. The burrito was cold , the crispy”American” taco was cold, the Albondigas soup was good. Other than that it was a nice outing.
Super nice people excellent service excellent salsa, chips are good but their food menu?... The tacos burritos Etc., it's just kind of plain with has no Pizzazz whatsoever or special feature about its taste I wish they could be creative and step it up because it's kind of bland even as Mexican food goes. The atmosphere is awesome and I want them to be successful but again the food?... We always walk away saying "there was nothing special about the taste of their food".
Expensive for 2 people, small with stairs and uneven walkway to the restroom so kids and older people will need to be careful. The bathroom was not that clean. The seating outside is nice, the food is ok but not great. This is the 4th restaurant we have tried in the area and none are great. The service is good just very slow. Expect to wait for anything so if you're in a rush you will want to look elsewhere.
Honestly, this place was overrated. We ordered two different margaritas and both of them had tasted watered down. It wasn’t great. We didn’t want to ask for a re-do because one of the margaritas tasted somewhat moldy. Didn’t trust it. The chips were fresh and warm, which was nice. We ordered an enchilada and carne asada combo and the enchilada was not the greatest. It was way too watered down. The rice and beans that came with the carne asada was amazing. That was close to authenticity. Other than that, parking was difficult. Not many parking spots.
Went to this restaurant yesterday and ordered 7 meals. They gave us one small salsa. We asked for 4 more and the waitress asked if one larger container would do…we said yes. Then she gave it to us with chips and found she charged us for it. We complained that for seven meals, we should have more than one salsa. Waitress finally got the “manager’ who was very snotty and while agreeing that had we bought 7 meals individually, we would have received 7 salsas…said best she could do was give us 8 ounces of salsa…half of what they had bagged and already charged us for. It was really not worth trying to get our money back at that point but we will never go there again. If we were eating at the restaurant we would have had unlimited chips and salsa and the to go menu is not cheaper. By the way we had tried to call in our order also and they answered and put phone on counter and never came back. We hung up after listening to them for ten minutes. We still went thinking holiday weekend and they were probably frazzled but the salsa thing was unacceptable. Food was not bad but tacos were small and fell apart. Horetencias and papagyos will continue to be our choices.

Reading on most of these reviews. It makes me wonder if most of the people writing them are Caucasian. My children and I were the only Mexicans there yesterday night. We waited for like ten minutes to be seated, even though the place was not busy at all by the time we got there. After finally being seated, it took them like ten more minutes to come ask us what we wanted to drink. We waited forever for our drinks to come. Even thought there was a" gentleman " passing by and attending the white pepleo seated outside on the patio. My granddaughter was so thirsty and by this time was getting inpatient for her drink. Once we finally ordered , to my surprise the food didn't take long to come out. The worker kept attending and asking the white customers how was everything and not once came to ask us. Even though it was only three tables taken up outside including ours. The food for 3 and a child's meal was not worth $ 72 in my opinion. Especially with the Obvious Racism to the owners own kind. I would not go again or recommended to anyone I know. I have spent more at Jettys in lake Arrowhead and even though the workers are all white. We have never been treated badly. Of course I did not leave a tip.
We were ordering and were told that they use American cheese on the meals we wanted and that if we wanted Cheddar cheese, we could just scrape it of our refried beans! Not only that, but the server was quite rude. We walked out and have not returned. Unless something has changed, in my opinion, this is the worst restaurant on the mountain.
I ordered menudo with no pata and they said it all has pata first time A place had told me that so I thought they probably just say that but when I got it had a whole pata in it. Very bad for business Im a foodie And will never go here again. Ill go to pajaro azul same food but they make it like ordered
This place and it's employees are disgusting. Not only did they not give us a cheap plastic to go plastic bag when our 6 years old was car sick and throwing up but they are charging $5 to use the restroom. What kind of company charges people in need of a restroom $5. It's utterly disgusting to be charged that much to use the restroom and have no consideration for a 6 years old child throwing up and needing a plastic bag. The restaurant next is way better all the way around in terms of service!

Called to place an order for pickup, they said it would be “one second.” Waited 10 minutes no luck. After waiting so long decided to drive there, still on hold the whole time. We mentioned it and they said, “oh.” No sorry, but whatever, they were busy I tried to be understanding. We Ordered. After about 40 minutes the food came. We spent $100 they gave us 1 small 2oz salsa. We had ordered 7 items mostly(6) plates. They asked me how many we wanted, I said one per combo plate. They said ok we will put it in the bigger cup. Then secretly tried to charge us $10 for salsa without telling us?They informed us that they do 1 salsa per order…So we could’ve spent $1 or $1000 and they would’ve given us the same 2oz salsa? Who eats 7 items with one salsa?? The salsa is one thing, the way they treated people was another. With Hortencia’s on the mountain and even papagayos I can’t see ever dealing with those angry, rude people again. 3 or more tables came and asked for their orders to go while we waited as they were tired of waiting for their orders.
