This is our childhood restaurant that we grew up eating at almost every Sunday, after church!! My favorite is the Sunday brunch!! So much food items to choose from and eat, fruits, salads oh, my favorite the bacon and nachos. delish!!! The best Mexican restaurant ever!!! We go visit our dad in Lancaster, from Newport beach and we all go there, brings back so many great child hod memories. I give them an A+ 5 STAR RATING!! IT'S A MUST HAVE..
El Toreo is a great place to get Mexican food with great service; it's like being with family and friends.
Been eating at their restaurants for over 50 years never had a bad meal.
I was on Vacation from Hawaii. I met some friends for dinner. The staff was great and the food was amazing. Wish they had more diabetic options.
I have been going here since they built it nearly 30 yrs. Ago and has the BEST FOOD and drinks than any other. Nice clean environment and very comfortable seating. I will always go here for years to come.
I came in to try this place never been here but I was craving authentic Mexican food and I got to say the service was phenomenal the food tasted like home made. I like the environment and my server Michelle was very welcoming and friendly. She made it an excellent experience! I will be coming back here for sure hopefully the service is always the same.
Eat here all the time. We always go for the ChileVerde burritos. Make sure to ask for the green sauce on top. It’s delicious and the best ChileVerde in the Antelope Valley
Margaritas are strong and delicious! 😋 Food was very good. The service was spectacular. Such kind and professional staff.
Wow, stopped here on a whim. A hidden gem that we are glad to have found. Great food and service
Excellent food and service! I've eaten at all of the El Toreo locations in the 30 years that I have lived in the AV. The food is the same as what I grew up with in the San Fernando Valley. I will be eating El Toreo tonight! Just had Sunday brunch. It was delicious with a great variety of dishes. As always everything was great!
Wonderful place been there longer than I’ve been alive and it’s a family loved tradition to visit. They are super accommodating you can call ahead they will have it ready and nicely packaged in a box for convenience! Or sit in and have a margarita and albondigas soup some of the best in town!
I’ve been going to this place for YEARS!! My now husband and I even had our very first date here. The good definitely outweigh the bad experiences I’ve had here, which was only one bad experience, when I had a strand of hair in my salad, I told the waiter and he was extremely apologetic and gave us a discount. After years of going here, that’s the only bad experience I’ve had. Other than that, this place is great!!! On Sunday’s they have the brunch buffet, it’s really good. I enjoy their Flautas, and their Chicken Enchiladas Rancheras! The service is always great, staff is very friendly and attentive. The chips and salsa are always great. They don’t have much of a variety of desserts, though. Would definitely recommend this place.
I brought my family here a few years back and we bought some food to try it out for the first time and it was delightful! The food portions were generous and it tasted very good! I recommend this place to friends and family
The food is really good. The drinks are very enjoyable. And the service is awesome!!! This is our go to for Mexican food.
Whenever we’re in the mood for some good Mexican food, this is our go-to favorite in the valley. Their steak picado is incomparable and margaritas are perfect. This restaurant has a relaxing and wonderful vibe as well.
The service is great, the food is really good. It was Sunday Brunch so the only thing I would suggest is more options for people who don't eat pork (any meat for that matter). Otherwise really great place.
Ate there on the 28th of February. It gets very busy for dinner. We had reservations for a large group. We were immediately seated. Their chips are served warm with mild and a spicy salsa. It is hard to hold back on the chips, so be prepared to take some leftovers home. The buffet is a great deal. The salad is fresh and crisp, as was the jicama. The bbq ribs were so tender and flavorful. The rice and beans are always delicious. The flan was so good.
I was craving a hard shell beef taco and they delivered in the best way. The abundant layers of lettuce and cheese made for not only a beautiful plate, but it was a perfect addition the the chips and salsa. Best taco in town.
Excellent service. Very good food. Salsa was great.
The Best Food in Town!!! They continue to work hard to create fabulous food at a great price, even through this stay at home crisis. Thanks for another wonderful meal El Toreo!
Great as usual.....every time I come to cali I have to stop here for a shrimp burrito "wet".....and what better to wash it down with than a Mango Margarita.

I’ve been going to El Toreo since I was a kid. Still the same great restaurant regardless of location. They’re all great! Shredded beef tacos!!
One of my favorite places to bring the family. Service and food is always fantastic.
Our entire family, direct and extended, have gone to this restaurant for years, passing numerous good restaurants to go to this one. Always great food, always excellent service, always competitively priced. I don't know of restaurant in town that is consistently better for traditional Mexican dishes.
Love this place! Combo plates come with soup or salad. The salads are a meal in itself! The main dishes have large portions and top quality ingredients. The Margaritas are excellent as well. You will go home with a doggie bag! We had a party of 6 and we all took food home. Highly recommend this restaurant!
Service is the BEST! Food is consistently good. Margaritas are worth the price. My favorite restaurant in the Antelope Valley!
This place doesn’t look like much from the outside but it’s probably one of the nicest Mexican restaurants I’ve been. Very clean place and the staff is great and of course the food was wonderful. Huge portions, I couldn’t eat it all I had to take half of it home..
About 2 weeks ago I had their brunch and it was delicious they were very kind to me and always asking me if I needed anything and I said I'm doing all right but there is one question I want to ask I want to know if I could bring in my pot would you sell me some of your menudo so I can enjoy it at home

We had great service. The food was overall pretty good. I did not like the salsa at all...it was like a watered down marinara which was odd. Also, my wet burrito had lettuce in it which was odd and essentially became soggy. Otherwise everything else was tasty.
This location is very good. Food portion is generous, and the food overall seems to be better than the location @ 10th Street West @ Avenue L. Our family has been a customer for over 20 years. I recommend this establishment for great food and service. :)
We always use El Toreo as a go to Mexican restaurant and I really don't have anything negative to say. Be warned, it is Mexican food and there aren't super healthy options but some that will do. No vegetarian or vegan options except a dinner salad, fried, sides, etc so if that's important to you then you may want to go elsewhere. Lots of oil and cheese used which I feel is a staple in most Mexican restaurants and the Cadillac margaritas are amazing and strong. If you just wanna go crazy and eat like you don't care then this is a good spot for sure!
Very Large burrito fast service for a restraunt. In the long term the burrito with grilled chicken is to good but every once and a while it’s best. Shredded beef enchiladas are very good and never miss in quality, I always get it.

Nice spot for a catch up with friends. No frills, but the service is quick, and the food is good, too. Personally I like my Chile Verde spicy, but it did not deliver any heat when I ate my dish. Mexican rice shouldn't have carrots and peas inside, but it did here. No bother, though, because it still tasted fine. Small not-picks aside, this place is tops.
I took my 97 year old grandma here as it's her favorite Mexican restaurant. Good was delicious and you get a very generous serving. I wish they had easier access. There is no ramp and the curb is really high, so it was quite a chore for my grandma to enter.

Service was pretty good, especially with the size of our group, 12 people. The food wasn't the best though. I had asked for the Enchiladas Suizas but with cheese enchiladas vs the chicken/beef. The waiter said oh then you want Enchiladas Rancheras, those are cheese. No, sir. I like the not as spicy green sauce, can you just substitute the enchiladas for cheese? He nodded his head. I had the spiciest green sauced enchiladas in my life 🔥 🥵 I recently had oral surgery and still am not allowed to have anything too spicy so not an ideal situation 😞 The rice was OK, a little dry but the flavor was good.
This place is a nice quiet small atmosphere, servers servers are polite and respectful. A food on the other hand not really that great it's closer to a fast food restaurant, just served in a fancier way with the higher price. I really wouldn't recommend it for anyone unless you extremely want a small more private restaurant for Mexican food,
We were here on a Saturday night, and the service was laughably bad. This was especially confusing, as we were one of two tables occupied in the restaurant. I enjoy the food, but Medrano's is just as good and the service is better.
So disappointed with the restaurant. Walked in at 6:00 and requested a table for 10. I was told he would not serve us due to no dishwasher person in the kitchen and he was going to close. We have been celebrating birthdays at El Torero for 40 years. So sad.
Fish tacos were not good. Everyone else loved their food.
I do enjoy coming here. No doubt it's kind of still and up and comer. As far as authenticity, though I'm a guerro, mi esposa is latina so I do have a passion for Mexican food. This place almost nails it. That's not to be insulting. The flavor is there most often. It's a great stop for a quick fix of warm savory food. Service is good but I swear they are always hiring hence the up and comer status. Highly recommend the Enchiladas con pollo en mole. No doubt the best item on the menu. So service is good always attentive. Food is good not wow outstanding but legit. Priced accordingly I come often, at least once a week. So I am biased. Just stop by have a few beers and they something.
Service was kind of slow. This was very surprising seeing that during the time that I went it was pretty dead. The food was delicious though.

Your margaritas are no longer spectacular as they were in the past 5 years.
Came here for dinner, I was in the area from LA. I got the shredded beef burrito and girlfriend the Albondiga soup.., highest rating I can honestly give is 3 stars, felt my burrito was bland.. it looked better than tasted, the albondigas/meatball soup was very generic like canned soup taste. I enjoyed the salad.. simple but fresh, chips are good and salsa as well. Nice comfy place with good ambiance but was expecting more on the food. Service is great, I rate 5 stars on that.. it wasn't so busy when we stopped by.

This location has fallen off so incredibly much. Almost every time i order from this location. either something is missing, something is there that shouldn’t be, or any other issue. Just now i ordered a wet carne asada burrito with green sauce and no sour cream or guacamole. i was told it didn’t come with guacamole after i asked and surprise surprise there it is. and that green sauce i asked for… hardly any at all. This location used to be amazing, and now it’s by far the worse
I went to brunch today and I did not like it at all. Food was cold and he didn’t look good at all to me. Didn’t look fresh So I will not recommend a brunch

Was there once before for tacos dorados and didnt have a problem. We went on Wednesday and my aunt and I got sick. I dont know what it was but I vomited and she had stomach ache. Maybe the beans or rice since it was the only thing we both had the same.
Came in for the first time tonight for my birthday dinner. We arrived at 5:30pm. Ordered at 5:45. The dining room started to fill up but it was pretty empty when we arrived. At 6:30 I went to the manager to ask how much longer it would be as I have 3 kids 6 and under and they just couldn’t wait any longer. Didn’t get food until 6:40. The food we got had obviously been sitting under the heat lamp as the tortilla was dried out on my enchilada despite the mole sauce on top. They did comp our enchiladas and my dinner so I really do appreciate that, but I don’t think I would go back again. The wait was just too long and the food definitely not worth the wait.
Where should I start ? I have been eating at El Toreo for 35 years. I remember very young eating at the one on Sierra Hwy. I haven’t been in about a year. Last time I went to Palmdale Boulevard & 10th st west. Didn’t notice what I did today at this location. I’m not sure if they’re still owned by the same people, but my grandmother new the owner! He would be very disappointed. So we get seated. They bring out the chips eventually I should’ve known then. The chips tasted like hot grease been sitting on them for hours are they were old. The waitress a.k.a. manager was too busy walking around making sure everyone noticed her at one point gone for over 25 mins. The whole process of ordering my food has never been this bad there was definitely a language barrier, considering a bit of Mexican restaurant. No problem we can get through this always have! My enchiladas were cold, my friend ordered a chicken enchilada and a beef taco. She got a cheese enchilada that was cold. My nephew got a wet Carne Asada burrito with no avocado, guacamole, or tomato, which it has guacamole, avocado, & it was also cold. The waitress could’ve cared less about are concerns & what she said the food on the table. She never came back until she brought the check. Every time we asked her for something she had an attitude or she responded in a smart remark. I’m not sure because there was a language barrier or she just had a attitude I’ve never had this horrible service. I’m going to find out if they’re individually owned because I guarantee you this one will not last long. They need to know. This is not what El Toreo is known for. I know the AV is not the same but never expected to go to El Toreo to be so disappointed. Super Sad! Don’t waste your time or money
The food was bad. And hard like if it was from earlier and they heated up just to sell it, the chips nasty and had a funky taste and the meat ball soup was very very salty i think they really need the money, and the star i put i only did it because they don't have a half star. To the owners check up on your cooks because it's your place not there. Till never.
We stopped going after 25 years because of the C rating on cleanliness. The place needs a full renovation I never use the bathroom. WE used to go there twice a week and for birthdays knew all the waiters Covid changed a lot.
