A Hidden Gem with Stunning Atmosphere! Don't let the unassuming entrance fool you - The Fat Pigeon in downtown Livermore is an absolute treasure! Pro tip: Make reservations as they have limited seating inside. The moment you step through the door, you're transported into what feels like a fantasy film set. The interior is dramatically different from the entrance - the lighting, paintings, decor, and colors are truly vibrant and create an enchanting atmosphere. Cocktails: We ordered several specialty cocktails and they were all beautifully presented and delicious. I particularly enjoyed the Liquid Courage (whiskey, cherry heering, apricot, lemon, egg white, black walnut) - it was exceptional! Food: -The Garlic Shrimp with seasoned corn and sourdough bread were simply delicious. -The Chicken Skewers (chipotle style) were really tender and sumptuous. -The Chicken Meatballs came with plenty of marinara sauce and garlic bread - the meatballs were nice, though the sauce was fairly standard. -The Tri-Tip Sliders were tasty and came topped with arugula leaves. - However, the Pepperoni Flatbread was the star of the show - served warm with generous, large slices of pepperoni and plenty of cheese. Absolutely the best item we ordered! - We also tried the Blood Orange Power Salad (brussels sprouts, kale, broccoli stalks, carrots, radicchio, kohlrabi, roasted tomato, pecans, hemp seed, halloumi cheese, blood orange vinaigrette). It was flavorful with a generous portion. Overall, we had a wonderful time with friends at The Fat Pigeon. The combination of the dramatic ambience, creative cocktails, and solid food makes this a must-visit spot in Livermore!
Really late posts from Christmas… My family and I had the greatest time here, the live DJ rocks and everyone had the greatest time, dancing and singing. The decor was CHRISTMAS and we love it. Everything on the menu that we ordered was delicious and Christmas cocktails are sweet and delicious “ELF” himself will be so proud.
Went there last night during their Christmas pop up and it was amazing! The ambiance was fun, DJ had a really good mix, drinks and food was yummy! We ordered a pizza and it was delish. The decor was gorgeous. Easy parking and cute downtown. Our server was great. Last year we went to one of SF’s pop ups, but the drive is far so I’m glad that we could find this in Livermore! Would highly recommend as a group or a pair!!!
Great novelty bar. The service was great and the drinks were tasty. I recommend making a reservation because the group in front of us was turned away. The person I was with happened to make a reservation so we got right in. The drinks had a fun names and the witches drink is interactive. I love that the decor was carried over to the bathrooms. Didn't order food but I'll be back for Christmas for sure.
This place was to "DIE" for...lol. so fun and cute. The entire bar, top to bottom. Was decorated for Halloween. The only hiccup was we made reservations but the staff didn't mention the one hour time limited for out stay. It would have been nice to know so we could plan to hang somewhere else after.
Fun fun fun - check this place out. I think they have the new holiday theme going. we were there for the Halloween and before that the wonderland theme. You'll generally need a reservation, but we slipped into a No-show slot.
Dedicated to the vibe. Fun, an experience, an environment, weird and wonderful. You won't find anything else like this place in the tri valley. Leave your ego at the door, and have a drink.
OMG. So cute. We went for Alice in Wonderland. The decorations was Amazing!! And the drinks!!! We had more than we wanted because they were so good. Some unique flavors! Can't wait to go back for Halloween!!
Super cool themed bar downtown Livermore, the drinks were very interesting. I enjoyed them definitely check out.

The food is very good and reasonably priced. The service is prompt and friendly. We were brought the wrong dessert, but this was corrected and we were only charged for one dessert rather than the two. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. The reservations are only good for one hour, but this was plenty of time to eat, drink, and experience the ambience. We went for the Christmas theme and the decorations were immaculate! There was fun Christmas music when we started our evening, but we were annoyed when the DJ was brought in, blasting run-of-the-mill clubbing music right in front our table. I do think bringing in a DJ kills the atmosphere. Overall, it was a great experience and we plan on going back for other themes.
I went to have a drink for my birthday. The birthday shot was so cute and the service was great. I got the secret Santa drink for the night it was super good. Our servers name was Prince and he was so helpful, welcoming and nice ! Will be back !
We had such a fun time at this Christmas-themed bar! The drinks were delicious and came in festive holiday cups that made the whole experience feel extra special. We ordered the tri-tip sliders and a kale salad topped with fresh-shaved cheese—both were super tasty. The service was great from start to finish, and the DJ even wished us a happy anniversary and kept the vibe going with awesome music. This spot is definitely a must-see during the holidays! Perfect for a date night or a girls’ night out. Highly recommend! 🎄✨
Such a fun experience for the holidays!!! Prince was so acomadating in getting our party seated on time, and such great customer service. Will definitely come back again for drinks very soon.

Go for the experience and drinks. Don’t stay for the food or the service. The food was sub par and nothing was memorable. The service was extremely lacking. The cocktails were good. The decorations were on point. If you are in a group and have a table you will be asked/told to move outside after an hour to allow another group to sit there. Once you’re outside they completely forget about you. Our waiter was very poor. We had to ask multiple times for water. They forgot we ordered food and had to go back and get it. They should have kept it because it sucked so bad. For $28 the charcuterie board was minuscule in size, the portions were very small and the pretzel sticks were soggy and rubbery. The Tri tip sliders were dry, flavorless, and depressing.
The Halloween theme and decor were awesome. The service was pleasant. The drink were great looking but tasted nasty. The bad apple was actually good but served in a small glass. The cauldron was a bit pricey at 80 dollars more like 60 dollars would have been fair. The biggest turn off was that they would not split the bill by drinks so we paid your ways which was not fair because I wanted to pay for my drink and the cauldron. Will not be back again.
I recently visited The Fat Pigeon, and unfortunately, I was quite disappointed. While the restaurant is well-known for its themed decorations—like Halloween and Christmas, which are admittedly impressive—the food does not live up to the hype. The quality of the food was below average, and it felt very overpriced for what was served. The drinks also seemed overpriced, making it hard to justify the overall experience. I strongly recommend skipping the food if you do visit; it’s simply not worth it. The only redeeming quality is the ambiance created by their decorations, but beyond that, there’s not much to write home about. I gave it a 2 out of 5, and I wouldn’t go back. This place might be fine if you’re just there for the vibe or to take pictures, but don’t expect a great meal.

If you’re coming for the Halloween decor, I would skip and go straight to beer baron in Pleasanton.. this place is tiny.. we put our name down at 900 pm and still waiting to get a call to get in lol (it’s now 10 am the next day). Seems like there were tables but she said they were all reserved.

Worst bar experience I have ever had. The decor was so nice, and the food and drinks were good, but the service was almost nonexistent. We got sat at our table and placed our order, and then basically that was it. It took over 40 minutes to flag down a (different) employee to order our next round, and he was like but your reservation is almost up??? And then said oh or you can move to the bar, which we did decide to do. But, why did you think our table would each only want 1 drink for our hour reservation? They didn't even come over to see if we recieved our drinks or if everything was okay. It genuinely only seemed like one of the 3 employees was actually working- poor guy. I guess this is the way to run a bar if you only want to make $15 per guest and no tips? Make us beg and flag you down to give you money? My partner is a former bartender so we always tip really well also- but this was genuinely my first time saying no, it was not earned at all.
I’ve been to Fat Pigeon several times and always had a good time, but our experience on Friday, December 19th, 2025, for my sister’s birthday was incredibly disappointing. We had a reservation for seven people at 10:00 PM and arrived early at 9:45 PM. From the start, the service was poor. We were seated by a waitress (heavier set, ponytail, wearing a red Christmas sweater) I belive her name was Jenessa E. who had a bad attitude from the moment we walked in. She never checked on us to see if we needed anything and made us feel like an inconvenience. When we sat down, we were told the kitchen closed at 9:30 PM. However, at 10:35 PM, we saw several other tables being served food. When we asked another server, she told us the cutoff was actually 10:30 PM. We were lied to about the food service, which was frustrating as we were there to celebrate and wanted to order appetizers. We spoke to the manager a slim guy about 5'7" to explain that it wasn't fair to be treated differently than other guests. He was dismissive and did nothing to fix the situation or the communication error. As a group of 7 spending money on drinks, we weren't looking for a handout—we wanted the same integrity of service everyone else received. Between the rude waitress and the unhelpful manager, this was a terrible way to spend a birthday. We won't be returning anytime soon.
Loved the atmosphere and holiday decorations, but unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. Our 10:00 PM reservation felt rushed, service was slow, and drink orders took a long time. When we tried to order food, we were told the kitchen closed at 9:30 PM—yet guests seated after us were still served food, which was frustrating and confusing. I spoke with a manager who apologized and offered a charcuterie board, but we were still expected to pay for it. We spent a significant amount on drinks, so it wasn’t about the money—it was the principle and inconsistency in service. Overall, a complete disappointment despite the great ambiance.

The worst service and experience ever! We were told 45 min wait and 2 hours later we were freezing outside ignored completely! We finally had a waiter come over with an attitude because my sister in law didn’t know what she wanted to drink and was taking to long he apparently thought while she read the drink menu Then finally he came back with drinks and forgot to take my order He disappeared then we never saw him again then finally we flagged down another waitress to take my sisters order they were out of so many things so she could not get the drink she wanted and then Jess the Waitress came over and was so rude! Instead of apologizing she made a bunch of excuses and a totally rude person She pretty much blamed us for being upset with our service and told us we should’ve given the other waitress grace because she was alone on the floor like that was our fault. 100% disappointed don’t even go here cute vibe inside, but you’ll never get in
I asked if we could come in as a party of 3 at around 11:45 and the server told us they had closed their last tab for the night. Not even 10 minutes later, 2 girls go in and they get seated. The venue wasn’t even full, barely people there. I get it if you were trying to get out as soon as possible on a Friday night, but at least be equal man!
We went for their Christmas theme, which was okay I guess. First of all we were not aware of the 1 hour per table limit. After checking Open Table, it does say something like you table is reserved for 1 hour (what does that mean??). They need to be more specific and say you only have the table for one hour and since I didn't make the reservation, I did not know about the limit. It took our server 35 minutes to bring a round of drinks and by the time we ordered food and it was brought to the table it was at the 1 hour limit. Forget about a second round. The was a single waitress for the WHOLE bar. When we tried to order food it was no pepperoni pizza, we don't have any of this and that, ah okay what's left? She got out food order wrong and by the time they corrected it and brought out the proper food they were pushing us out the door. I had to take the food home in a box. I did say something to the owner who offered to give us shots outside in 45 degree weather. How about NO. Your choice, you LOST multiple customers that night, won't ever come back.
