Very good place to eat. The food is amazing, now the inside of the restaurant needs a lot of attention. It's old and run down. Other than that the service and food are top notch.
I love this place! Looks a little bit run down when u 1st look at it. But the owners are Always there and ALWAYS say hello to my husband and I. The food is very good also.
Don’t judge a book by its cover... this place is a hidden gem, as other reviews have stated. The mongolian bbq is on-point. Hot mustard is the best around. Prior to covid-19, I’d see many professionals coming to have lunch here while we were dining.
Me and my mother eat here at least once a week. Everything on the menu is delicious. The ingredients are fresh and you get plenty to eat for take out.
I have been coming to this place well over 20years!! Staff knows me very well and food is always great!! I recommend the Mongolian BBQ AND EGG DROP SOUP🫶🏼
Live their Mongolian BBQ! You prepare your own bowl and watch him cook it. You also get an egg roll & soup. We take out, but I've dined in too. I've eaten some other dishes that were large and delicious. Very friendly staff, except for the grill chef, maybe. 😊
Excellent food and wonderful owners and staff. We moved away and are back visiting, couldn't wait to go to our favorite Chinese food restaurant. After being gone for over a year they still remembered us and what we usually ordered.
Great folks been visiting them for years.
Good food all the time!!❤️
Looking for a great Chinese restaurant and this didn't disappoint. This service was great and fast. Granted we were on the only customers at the time but it was early evening. The food was fast, hot, and tasted great. Not sure what we ordered, it was roughly six or seven different dishes; however, they were all delish.
Don't let the outside deceive you. The food is great and you get so much of it for a fair price. Will definitely come back!
This is like my go to! The owner is very nice and remembers me every time. They will stay open later than their hours say to make you happy and serve you. The chicken may-fung?? Probably wrong spelling but that’s how it’s pronounced is amazing! It is a plate with fine buttery noodles and chunks of chicken with egg. You’ll love it!
Love their food, I've been going since I was young. My dad would take us way before he passed in 2008. Now I still go and still love it. Very good memories. ❤️
Sooo good! Thank you Beijing House for absolutely delicious food. We will definitely be back again soon. I had the chicken curry and pork egg rolls with fried rice and my family had the orange chicken with vegetable egg rolls and wonton soup. We ate every single bite of it so good!
The place is order-at-the-counter humble fare. If you want it "melt your face" spicy, they will happily accommodate. There is a big Mongolian grill in the middle of the dining area, but as of this writing, it has not returned to service since covid. They have standard Americanized Chinese meals, and a couple trad meals. My favorite snacko is the Mai Fun noodles. One section has booths & non-moveable seats, and the other is move-able tables & chairs, so you can get a big group in there. The furniture and fixtures still have that " I've been in the same room as things that are fried" patina... kinda weirdly sticky, but it doesn't feel dirty, if that makes sense. The bathrooms are small, 80s style. Single-wide door entries on both sides have mud-areas, and one of the entries (east) is very narrow. They grow veg on the property, and it makes me happy to see squash blossoms and vines when I arrive.
Second time getting food there. Was confused for the first time going in. Went in with my boyfriend and his father. Amazing food!! Friendly staff!! Kept everything clean. Few dirty tables but didn’t take them long to get them pickup and wiped down. Hands down a great place. Recommend it!!
Beijing House Mongolian grill is family owned and they have been there since his dad first got to the state's 30 or 40 years now but they are two great people I am hopping that they open another Beijing in Wichita Falls Texas
Good food , fast and good service from my experiences. I’d recommend the General Tso’s chicken , very good. Only wish they were open more , but I understand they have a family life and/or churches, synagogues, mosques , or what ever they attend to. Would rate it 6 stars, try it for yourself! I’m not Gordon Ramsey and don’t have super high food expectations but this is great.
If you love Mongolian BBQ this is the only place to go. Awesome little spot on 50th and the BBQ is the crown jewel. I’ve never been disappointed. Also grab a bag of their fresh fried wantons on the way out.
I absolutely love this place. The food is wonderful and very reasonably priced. Their Mongolian BBQ is fantastic as are many if their other options.
The food was really good everything fresh, made right there and then🥰
Love this place! Food is always consistent and never overcooked. Love the dine-in buffet. We mostly get take out here and it's always pretty fast, even when they're busy.
Great little place for freshly cooked chinese food. I prefer the chinese dishes from their menu, especially Mongolian Beef. My wife prefers their build-your-own Mongolian BBQ, stir fried on huge central grill. Family owned, with friendly, fast staff. Located in a really old former A&W restaurant building, so it's not the atmosphere for some people, but for quick chinese in Lubbock, definitely my fave.
Mongolian barbecue is the best!!! I’ve got it for years, I’ve tried it different places, I’ve tried all versions, but the one here is handsdown the best in town!! I do not know the cashiers name, but she remembers me every time I come in, not by name, But by dish, Makes me feel like an old friend, even if it’s been months since I’ve been in. Highly recommend
The food was amazing!!! Ordered take out on Christmas Day food was hot fresh and delicious. They were really busy but that did not stop them from being on point with food and customer service. Will definitely be back anyone looking for a great dish i recommend the Mongolian beef!
Love, love, love this place! We have been going here for about 4 years and the staff is always so friendly! Food is fabulous! I often get the Mongolian BBQ where you build your own bowl, but everything else we have ever gotten was great! The serving sizes are big!
My go to Chinese food restaurant. Love the Mongolian BBQ. Large volume for a very fair price.
I'm new to Lubbock and so I've been looking forward to trying different places around town. I found this place about 2 weeks ago. I ordered the curry shrimp, and was quite happy with the dish. The staff were very nice. The place itself seemed clean and comfy. Had a very "neighborhood restaurant" vibe. Reminded me of my favorite places back home. Glad I found this place.
Local hole in the wall, doesn’t look like much but has great service and even better food! Love this place and the friendly atmosphere they provide.
Food was top notch, quick and flavorful. Great valve for your money. Mongolian bar b que done your way -- excellent! Plus many, many dishes to select from.
I do not see how anyone can be unhappy about this establishment! Everytime I dine here the food is piping hot and fresh, and the employees are always courteous and willing to do anything the customer asks of them! The dinner special is a great deal for the $ and the hot and sour soup is FANTASTIC!!! So for those unhappy few maybe you should try something other than just a rice dish!?!?! And for all others do not be discouraged by the couple complainers PLEASE.... This is a GREAT place to eat at!!!
This place is always awesome. May is super friendly and takes good care of her customers. The food is hot and fresh and the Mongolian BBQ rocks!
Very kind amazing the food is delicious they make you feel like family
I've been eating at Beijing House for decades and there's a reason for that, it's so good! While they have a full menu, a trip through the Mongolian BBQ is the way to go. Filling, affordable, and delicious. What more could you want?
Best place in town for delivery always hot
This is my favorite place for Mongolian style BBQ. Friendly staff and owners. My kids get orange chicken and vegetable lo mein. We love it so much we eat here about once a week! See you there.
I ordered the house special lo mein and it was great. Anytime I order take out, it's fast and correct.
The food was very good, you can choose your meat and vegetables and have them cooked right before you.
Fast friendly service. The mongolian bbq is so yummy. This is our favorite place to have dinner. The amount of food you get leaves plenty to take a box home for later. Everything is always clean and the buffet is kept full. There’s is a small town feel. They care that you enjoy the food.
Don't let the outside and location of those place fool you. The food is amazing. My wife and I couldn't not stop eating, it was so good. We will be returning again and again. Ive eaten these types of restraints across the country and this is one of the best.
Been going to this spot for the past 20yrs. Their stir fry is great!
I usually go to this place when I work for door dash and it always smells amazing so I finally got some food for myself and the only thing I regret is not doing it sooner . Ahh my food was so delicious and the servings are huge .. I had food left over for the next day. Thank yall for making my night 🌙
This was my first time ordering takeout from Beijing House. The order was ready when I arrived (within 10 min or so) and staff was nice. One note: there's a table of sauces and plastic silverware on your way out. I saw it and should have grabbed some but I thought maybe they packed some in the bag (they did not) No big deal, but just something to notice if you do takeout. The dishes were hot and flavorful! I ordered the Singapore Mei Fun, orange chicken, steamed rice, and egg rolls. Everything was delicious! I can't wait to try more dishes from here 😋
Iv been coming to Beijing house for a long time and it’s one of the only Asian restaurants I will eat at in the city of Lubbock. Authentic and always fresh.
The three stars indicate this place is good! They have an app you can eat Mongolian bar where you can watch the chef cook your food in the open. I will forever regret not making this one of my stables in Lubbock in the 24 years I lived here!
Love this place!! Nice and quiet atmosphere, friendly staff and great food!!
I love fresh food and this place is perfect, plus it's delicious 😋.
Man oh man I hadn't been here in years and wow it is my new favorite Chinese restaurant. The food was so very good. I got beef and scallops and the wonton egg drop soup and egg rolls .The vegetables were cooked just right and the sauce was amazing. Egg rolls were on point. And I ordered from them last night and got a dish I hadn't tried before Hunan Beef and egg rolls again. I asked for them to add mushrooms and extra sauce and make it spicy and that's exactly what they did. It was SOooo good.
I haven't been to Bejing House in over 15 yrs &&& not only is the food as (if not more) deliciously impeccable, the service is STILL beyond friendly!!! (The friendliest in town!) I ordered Happy Family & I actually got more than one scallop & shrimp! Awesome prices!
I have been dining at the Beijing house for at least 35 years! It is not a fancy restaurant, but the food is always exceptional and reasonably priced. You can get Mongolian barbecue, which is one of my favorites and they cook it up just right. The staff is always friendly. The prices are reasonable, and it is one of my very favorite places in Lubbock to eat.
I’ll admit at first I wasn’t a fan. And that’s simply because I like fried food. The food I ordered wasn’t fried. (My fault!) After expressing to the manager that we weren’t satisfied, they explained that their food is generally more healthy for their regulars. Now this doesn’t mean they don’t have fried food… they totally do and after getting the orange chicken instead I was much happier with my food. If you’re someone who prefers food that isn’t as oily and fried, then this place is an amazing option. They make a lot of their food healthier. The manager was super kind and helpful and the service was top notch. It’s no wonder this place has been around for 40 years. They accommodate the Lubbock community. I am excited to go back and try the Mongolian BBQ. Thank you again to the management and employees for being so accommodating. Kind people running a local business will always beat out chains.
Second weekend in a row picking up curry chicken (chicken, green & red bell peppers & onion in curry gravy) with steamed rice. It’s so good, great for cold weather! It has a kick to it, but was not too hot, and I made a point to pick out big chunks of the hot red pepper. I did add salt to the entree both times to bring out the flavors, def recommend doing that. The eggrolls are delicious too. One came with the entree last week and I liked it so much that I got an order today. Their online ordering is SO simple! It is not a very appealing building, or inside, but don’t let that deter you.
I’ve only been in Lubbock for a year and a half, but it is so hard to find a decent Chinese food restaurant, that isn’t a fast food or chain. This place makes their food with great flavor, and definitely more fresh than food from many other places. This is my go-to place for Chinese takeout!
I get delivery from here at least a few times a month. Lol the food always arrives fast and fresh!! Definitely love this place and have never been disappointed. It's awesome to get food delivered that is still steamy and hot when you get it. Love love love!!!
This is my favorite place for stir fry. You can pile on as much as you can fit on the plate, for the chef to cook while you wait. Served with an egg roll, fried or white rice and soup. I would almost stop in for the egg drop soup. A no frills place with good food.
Okay so the outside and the inside of this restaurant isn't much to look at -- as a matter of fact, if you got past the outside and made your way inside, you'd be tempted to just turn around and leave -- BUT the food is actually pretty amazing. I've been there approximately 4 times now and yes, the place is dirty/unkept and yes, the owners/employees are a little rude, but each time the food was hot and fresh unlike a lot of other Chinese food places around here. Seriously this place has great food. Just do yourself a favor and call in your order and take it home. 😊
No instructions on what to do. We sat ourselves, and were ignored by staff. We had to stop one to ask. We were just passing thru from Denver to New Braunfels. It had a better rating than the other Chinese restaurant. I wonder.
After reviewing the previous reviews and picking up SO MANY door dash orders from here, we caved and gave it a try. Barring it said it was spicy and to me it was not (but I've been told because I can eat reaper and ghost peppers I should go easy) and the one type of rolls, I wasn't unimpressed. We spent thirty dollars and got a very heavy bag of food. The flavor and taste were better than expected. Just wish the dine in was open.
Food was delicious but served in Togo boxes which is not as preferable to a real plate when someone chooses to dine in. I wish they still had the grill fired up. The place is pretty dingy inside but the staff is friendly. This has been a family favorite for years. I’ll still go eat there even it it’s a little grimy!
The food and service were very good. However, the actual restaurant seemed a little run down. It's not really a place I would dine in, so I took my food to go. The lady who took my order was very nice, and I didn't wait long for my food. The food was well worth the price and delicious.
Used to be really good when you could make your own. Sadly they didn't put half the stuff I asked for in my Mongolian BBQ and had very little flavor. ;(
Food tasted slightly old. Had flavor but was just missing something, this was after soy sauce. Ordered beef & broccoli and fried rice with an egg roll. 6.2 out of 10
Pretty basic Mongolian grill.. the food was not bad and it was fresh.. the atmosphere.. pretty dated and drab.. i wouldnt call this date night hot spot.
I got the General Tsao's Chicken and the chicken was more like jerky. Way over cooked. The sauce has a good flavor but no heat. My wife got the Beef and Vegetables and it had very little flavor. But real impressed at all. I gave it 3 stars because they do have Mongolian Barbeque there and watching them make it made us realize we got the wrong dishes.
We ordered beef fried rice. We like our dish with the brown gravy sauce, but they said their's is dry. They sold us a bowl of the gravy sauce for $2.00. It was a meal that was just okay, but we will never be back because there are so many places that are way better. The egg rolls were good. Unfortunately, to get a drink refill was difficult because it is behind the counter and I had to wait a long time to get my refill.
It is what it is. The perfect "hole in the wall". I get the Mongolian BBQ as the value is very good. Soup, Rice, Egg Roll and make the Mongolian as you want, and drink for $9.90. Their off the menu items are good as well. The staff are engaging and friendly.
Although the food and service were not bad, it was also not great. It's just kind of average. The wife had hibachi, and I ordered off the menu. Probably won't return, I don't know, maybe.
Used to love coming here for the buffet. They have taken the buffet away since covid which is understandable, but very disappointing. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken, it was very flavorful and they gave me a lot. The rice isn't to great, it's actually kind of hard, if you come here i suggest you get the house lo mein. It has a mixture of shrimp, beef, pork and chicken. Parking lot is very big. Cashier wasn't very attentive and didn't seem to be paying attention to the orders either.
Food was hot and fresh. We arrived right before the lunch rush but they did end up getting pretty busy afterwards. Ypu can call it in or from what I saw they also opt for uber eats. We tried beef fried rice, veggie lo mein, sweet and sour chicken, Mei fun (rice noodles), tso chicken, and egg rolls. Big portions!! Come hungry!!!
Highly recommended by lots of people. The restaurant and bathrooms were filthy with no customers so just lazy workers. The food was dry we had the sampler appetizer and orange chicken, orange beef. Will not be back
It has gone down in quality. They have a habichi BBQ that I feel is unclean and not too healthy. I ordered a dish to go and did not receive what I ordered. Won't ever eat there again unless they improve.
This used to be a really good place to eat. But today the food tasted like a frozen tv dinner. The chow mein had no flavor and sweet and sour chicken was just over fried chicken with some sauce on the side. The fried rice was just brown rice. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME COMING HERE.
Saw a review someone wrote about very little meat. Order the fried rice special. Guess what? True!!!! Had two small shrimp, very little slivers of beef 3-4 some you could barely see, about the same with chicken and a boatload of rice. They just lost a customer. Need to give people what they pay for.
Ordered from here on Postmates because it had good reviews on there, but unfortunately both mine & my fiancé’s meals were pretty darn bland & very lackluster. Disappointing. The cheese wontons were the one stand out item. They were actually good.
Flavor was decent but as quite a few other reviewers have said, the chicken was so overcooked that it was like jerky. Way too tough/chewy to enjoy. I hope they read these reviews and inform their cooks because they really need to taste-test their food before selling each dish.
So disappointed in this place today! This used to be one of our go-to spots but it’s been a while since we’ve visited. Walked in to super sticky and dirty floors. Ordered our food to go and waited at the sticky table, then got home and it was barely edible. Rice was extremely bland and the sweet and sour chicken was so chewy it didn’t even get eaten. $25 for two people is reasonable, IF the food is good. Won’t be back!
Ordered the house Lomein and Dinner Chicken Lomien ang General tso Chicken. The Lomein was soggy super greasy and both had little to no meat. Waste of money. The General tso Chicken was good and good portions. The fried rice was basic. Ate it, but I will not buy this again. Not for me.
This was the worst asian food ive ever had. My friend had literal spoiled meat my orange beef was paper thing and breaded, it had the consistancy of dusty jerky. Even the tea was spoiled tasting. Just wow.
If I could give it 0 star I would!!!! I DON'T KNOW WHY IT HAD SO MANY STARS! This Place is filthy floors and tables are sticky, the restroom is Gross. My food was super soggy and nasty. Egg rolls were soggy and cold, and the cream cheese wontons are tiny. NEVER AGAIN!!!!
Pick up food for dinner after calling in my order and being told to wait 15 mins and it would be ready, get there and I have to wait an additional 25 minutes more then while part of my food had been sitting since before I got there. While packing up my food the lady literally touched my food w her hands no gloves after answering the phone writing w a pin every person in there has touched. Get home with the food and all my food that was sitting out was cold with only half of my side dishes packed. I get being busy but don’t touch my food then send me w a cold incomplete order!
Literally worst Chinese food I've eaten. Egg drop won ton soup had zero flavor. Fried rice has nothing in it (veg, eggs, etc), was dry and no flavor. General Tsos was covered in some kind of syrupy, sticky sauce more like sweet and sour. Egg roll was flavorless. A sad, sad waste of almost $40 for 2 people. We went at about 2pm and 90% of the empty tables had empty plates/trash on them.
my food was cold and the place was very dirty the tables are very sticky everything was just disgusting. i’m very disappointed when i walked in it smelled very bad. the sweet and sour chicken tasted like old oil, my drink was flat. they also have no public restrooms!
By far the worst shrimp fried rice ever. I just feel that if a restaurant hours are from 11 to 930 and I get there at 9:20 my food should still be fresh even if it's to go now a days these businesses have one set of hours posted on the door but they start closing 20 to 30 minutes before the the time posted on the door .Is that a a reason for a paying customer to get less quality food because I get there 10. Min before closing I still PAY FULL PRICE . I don't think so but this is just one persons opinion. I work hard for my money an just want what I paid for fresh food not dried up mashed potato texture fried rice
After my husband doing Uber eats he picks up a lot of the times there always busy so we thought we would give it a try my husband ordered the house fried rice it was very dry and only had 1 shrimp 3 little pieces of steak and The the rest was chicken. I ordered the chicken fried rice it was very very dry and bland. Also has egg rolls they were burned and not worth the 4.50 for 2 burned and small. So after paying 40.00 it was not worth it and definitely will not be back to eat there. We will stick to China town. 🤔🤨
TERRIBLE! Everything on the sampler platter was Frozen and deep fried so long everything was hard as a rock. Both beef plates tasted freezer burnt and even smelled bad. I taste and it was definitely a no go.No wonder why they make you pay first.
2 stars on service are only because the lady was nice, unfortunately the food wasn't good. The fried rice was just plain rice in soy sauce. The meat on the Beef and broccoli was gummy and cut in small oddly slices(wierd description i know). Won't return.
I got the sweet and sour chicken I ordered it from door dash and I am very disappointed in how it tasted it tasted old and very oily and the chicken was just tendons in it . Do not recommend
I've eaten chinese food all over the US and this restaurant wins the worst food award. I had a delightful time in the evening after eating there, with diarrhea. So I got to enjoy their food twice.
