2/13/2021 The food was great. I took someone there for their birthday dinner. However the heat was out in the hibachi area, I spoke to the manger he said the people he had called would not make a weekend call. My suggestion to the owner is get another service co. Meals at 98$ one does not want to sit and shake from the cold.
When they say "1st impressions count", they aren't kidding! Our first visit...loved the interior layout & design; especially the tempered glass panels! Was very clean, sushi was fresh, well rolled with a nice presentation and oh so yummy, hibachi was delicious...had all of my favorite vegetables! Will definitely be back many more times! Was so good, I forgot to take pics! Was too busy plowing it! We had the Volcano Roll, Wonderful Roll, Steak, Shrimp, Chicken & Scallop Hibachi Dinners.
Nice modern upscale decor. There weren't many customers there when I went. Only gave 4 stars because I only got to try one menu item. Teriyaki steak was interesting.
Everything is amazing here and the portions are worth every penny, the server was attentive, the menu was legible and easily understandable, it described everything, this was my second visit, and definitely not my last
Today’s experience was one of the reasons why I loved this place. I was expecting my companion to show up before closing. He couldn’t make it and my server realizing that, brought me boxes for my companion’s and my food. That is good service. By the way, the food was fantastic
For a first timer walking into a Japanese Hibachi Grill, this was a very satisfying experience. From the time we entered and were greeted by the Hostess all the way through, the staff was precise and professional and spot on with the service. The appetizers were quick to arrive, the sushi was good. The hibachi cook was very entertaining and skilled and put on a very good show of his skills. The food was portioned generously and the fresh ingrediants made the flavors pop. This place is highly recommended for everyone... and yes, they have fried ice cream.
We went to one of the other hibachi grills & my son said let's go Mom. It's not clean. So we came here. Hands down this is the best! Clean, fresh & Great service! Loved it! Will go again!
We loved this place! We had 5 sushi rolls and all were AMAZING! We had: California roll, Dragon roll, Aubrey roll, Shaggy Dog roll & Pink Lady roll!! The staff is super friendly! Just visiting the area and glad we chose this place because we were not disappointed at all! Will 100% recommend to anyone coming to this area!
We go here pretty often but this time we all had to wear our jackets. It was so cold. Even the hibachi area guests were wearing coats. Food was still great but man that cold made it less fun.
I’m from the west coast and I really miss sushi. I have gone to Tyler and eaten sushi there but it was gross. This place has such delicious food and our server was a delight! We will be back. Oh and great prices!
Had a wonderful time and food was good
It is good but a bit pricey. The outside decor is misleading and you wouldn't think much of the restaurant, however, inside is beautiful and really sets the mood. The waitress is informative of what the menu is but she is slow to come back to check on everything. When we were sat down there were four of us and she gave us two sets of cutlery and three menus. She never noticed that we needed four of everything and had to ask for it. The booths have tacky white paper covering them. We hated it. Under the nasty paper was a white table cloth and under that was a really beautiful table. We don't know why they cover it up. The normal tables didn't have that stupid paper on them. Menu is big and food was amazing but the prices are very high.
Had a great time. Food was good as usual. Very nice atmosphere with very attentive service. Finally tried one of there alcoholic beverages and was not let down. Tried out there blue margarita and and it was delicious.
Food and Service are top rate! Most restaurants I need a light jacket to not freeze. This one is always too warm. Idk if air-conditioning is not working but would eat there more if it wasn't so hot
Expensive but so worth it! Fiance and I had never been to a hibachi grill before but we had a lot of fun! The food was really good too. The salmon was a little too salty for my tastes, I think less soy sauce would have solved that, though. We definitely plan on returning!
You know, this place was clean & fairly inviting-feeling. So I parked my massively oversized dually, in their lot & made my way inside. It looked a bit empty, but I was greeted fairly soon by a sweet lady who showed me to the bar. I announced my proclivity & understanding of the cuisine at hand, & my one minor nitpick was that I think there was a lack of understanding that I knew what I wanted in sushi & sashimi. No biggie, however. I got shrimp, Wasabi tobiko & eel sushi & a Philly roll. All were great & very well prepared. The girl a seat to my right was a regular & had a bowl of God-Knows-What that looked amazing. It's not that frequent that I find a place that is great, but who's clientele is awesome too. If you like sushi or hibachi, give this place a shot - you may be as surprised as i have been!
Wife was craving some sushi so we decided go to Lufkin to try this place out. Gotta say not a mistake, the sushi was great and have to say some of the best Hibachi I've had and we used to live in Mesquite, they put a great amount of season not too much or less. Definitely worth the bill. By the way we got the shrimp and steak on the grill with rice of course and all great with two different orders of sushi. Recommend the firecracker sushi.
This place was really good! I love hibachi and this place was great. Usually you get meat, veg, and rice but they also added noodles which was wonderful. My kids really loved it and everyone was really nice and pleasant. No complaints. Our chef didn't have quite the upbeat personality you typically see at hibachi but I can't complain that someone wasn't feeling it that day or was shy. He was never rude or anything, just quiet. They were great to the kids and we will absolutely be returning.
Brought my husband in for his birthday. We were seated quickly and placed our order. The soup and salad were delicious as was the Crown Roll (highly recommend). Soon our hibachi chef arrived and made our lunch. Steak medium rare, fried rice and veggies. Excellent job by the chef. The steak was so tender. We'll definitely come back!
All staff were friendly, attentive, and professional. Food was fantastic- hibachi filet was fall-apart tender; tempura was perfectly fried; California, Crunch, and Asparagus rolls were freshly made and cut, and that freshness was obvious in flavor and appearance; house soup was great; house salad dressing (made out of fruit) was unique and delicious. We went at lunch time and spent much less than we expected to, and we had leftovers. This is my new favorite Japanese restaurant within 3 hours of my house (:
We got reservations for my Daughter's birthday party a day before and we were accommodated well. The staff was great, the food was very good, the atmosphere was wonderful. We now have great memories to keep. The staff helped us set up the birthday cake thing, they sang to us and they beat tambourines and drums. We had lots of fun! I love to review good restaurants. Go and visit Tsubaki in Lufkin for good times!!!
Best Japanese food in Lufkin. Friendly service great food and reasonable prices.
They're soooo nice there! My birthday was last week, and we just went there today, and not only was their customer service AMAZING, but they gave me 2 birthday treats. They really are amazing people, & a great place!
The hibachi is awesome! The sushi and Poke Bowls are delicious! Highly recommend!
My wife and I have been dining here for at least 3 years. This was the first restaurant my daughter ever visited (granted she was a very small baby). The waiter always remembers us. He knows my daughter by name and knows what she eats. The food is always excellent. I have never had a single bad meal here. The price is higher than others In town but the quality is much better as well as quantity. We will continue to come whenever we get the craving.
I really enjoy this restaurant. Took my daughter here when she came down to see me. Food is always awesome, love it. This is one place I could eat at every day and not grow tired of it. As many times as I have eaten here I've never sat at the hibachi grill so I can't write about it, always sat at the sushi bar and talked with sushi chefs watching them make the rolls and try to see how they roll them. I have a sushi kit at home but mine never turn out pretty. Lol...
We came in on a Tuesday night with 10 people celebrating a birthday! Febri was our waiter and he was attentive, polite and overall great! Drinks were topped off constantly, the food was amazing as always! The staff is ways amazing and the filet mignon hibachi is a must have. Thank you for being open!
This is super cool and the food is great the employees were super nice go check it out
Anniversary dinner 🤤 so great Waitress explained food in detail. We were given delicious food and complimentary fried ice cream for our occasion
If you’re anywhere near Lufkin, Texas, do yourself a favor and stop by Tsubaki Japanese Restaurant—this place sets the standard for what great sushi and hibachi should be. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels warm, welcoming, and genuinely authentic. The staff is attentive without being overbearing, and everything from the décor to the presentation screams quality. But the real stars of the experience are the chefs. Sushi Master Audi is in a league of his own. Every roll is crafted with precision, balance, and creativity. The fish is unbelievably fresh, the cuts are perfect, and the flavors are clean and bold. You can tell he takes pride in every plate that leaves his station. If you’re a sushi lover, Audi will absolutely ruin every other sushi spot for you within a 3 hour radius—in the best way . On the hibachi side, I've heard Chef Wong brings pure entertainment and skill to the table. His timing, techniques, and showmanship keep you smiling the whole time, and the food itself is phenomenal—tender steak, perfectly seared shrimp, vegetables cooked just right, and fried rice that hits every note. He’s fast, funny, and really knows how to create a great hibachi experience.
Our go-to! The Mexican roll in the sriracha sauce is awesome and the Wonderful roll is.. wonderful.
Omg just ate Tsubaki sushi for dinner and it reminded me of Houston sushi. So fresh. Had the love roll, Hawaiian, and play girl. All exceptional.
*** edit**I have to agree with a previous review, you get vip treatment here. We loved the hibachi experience. We went for lunch. And then also dined at the sushi bar for dinner later the same day. Everyone was extremely polite and courteous. Service was good and the food was tasty. The miso soup was delicious. My toddler loved it. Her only problem was I couldn't feed her fast enough. She ate steak and rice too. The mixed drinks were so good and made extremely well. My daughter had a great time and we will absolutely be returning. Best sushi I have had in a long time and felt very welcomed and appreciated as a customer. **still just as great. They even remembered our drinks.
Wonderful food wonderful experience! It's a different experience each time you go as your sitting around the hibachi having dinner with people you don't know each time you dine. You also have a different itamae chef who has their own unique style of entertaining. The experience of watching the chef throw the cooking tools and cooking with them is totally unique than any other restaurant you'll dine. They have a very large menu of items other than the hibachi and you can dine at a table if you prefer. They also have a bar with a nice selection of beers, wines and mixed drinks. I've never had a bad experience here the food is excellent and the staff is friendly. They're great about including the kids in the experience, it will be something they'll remember for years to come. There is a menu for the lil one's to choose from as well.
Just had another fantastic experience at Tsubaki! Everytime we go there we have the same chef (I wish I knew his name) and he has never disappointed! The food is amazing, the show is perfect and the atmosphere is great. Thank you for making my daughter's 13th birthday so special!!
I love this place, the food is terrific so we keep coming back if we have time to spare. Definitely not a lunch break kind of place though, service can be pretty slow. So make sure you're not in a rush.
Fancy place, quiet and pleasant. There was some kind of problem in the kitchen, so the one who ordered sushi finished eating before the rest of us started. They did give us an appetizer to compensate.
The service was not very good due to few number of staff. But the drink and food were so good! I had the scorpion bowl which was amazing (the middle of the drink was on fire!) and Volcano roll as my food (which was one of the best sushis I have ever had!). I totally recommend this place but they need to have more staff so they can take the orders faster.
Great food and atmosphere! We ordered the chicken & shrimp and the steak & shrimp from the tsubaki menu and also a scorpion bowl. We were very impressed with the scorpion bowl...definitely get the bang for your buck. The only complaint we had is that we came during lunch time so the portions were a little small. This was meant to be our only meal of the day, but we ended up eating another meal right after. We'll definitely try it again later in the day and sit at the grill to get the full experience.
The environment is really nice and the staff is very kind and hospitable. The food is decent, but there were a lot more fried (tempura) choices than I'd preferred. The katsu chicken was a bit overcooked and chewy, but maybe it was a bad day. Overall it was good.
This place was amazing! The server knew his stuff when it comes to the right rolls! It was the first time for me and my friend, and we will be back. They even used the boat for our rolls. The Kabuki roll was an absolute MUST HAVE! The Rocky Roll is a good option for a neutral flavor. It takes on the flavor of soy sauce well. The volcano roll has a kick but wasn’t our favorite. The Fireman roll was on FIRE!!! Soo good!!! It was the first time I had eel also, and I LOVED IT!
Great food and Great service, will definitely recommend it for a place to visit
There was no wait for a table or booth. There was a 15 minute wait to sit at one of the Habachi grill stations where your food is cooked in front of you. They were slow on the sushi line and we received it after most of our other food was already finished. Good value for the money spent.
We sat in the room that has the hibachi grills, and enjoyed the food and atmosphere. We went on Christmas. We were surprised they were open all day without shutting down for a while between lunch and dinner. We had the filet mignon steak, shrimp and scallops combo. The meal came with a small soup and salad. Everything was delicious, but only one suggestion, crisp the two sides of the scallops more on the outside, they’re especially delicious that way.
Great place to eat! We've visited 3 times already and we've eaten both sushi/shashimi & hibatchi. Very fresh! The restaurant is really nice & clean on the inside and the decor is refreshing, not overly done & in-your-face. I would recommend it over other Japanese restaurants in the area.
A really nice place, definitely a cozy place with bar and great environment. Attention was good, Mrs. Kristal my server was some shy but able to give a honest smile, actually she recommended the fudge lava for dessert, and you know what, you're going to love it! An unexpected nice place when you're in the road.
Food was good service was not. It was pretty expensive for the portion sizes. My glass was dirty and I found a bug in my glass after my server brought me a refill. I don't know if the Hibachi part of the restaurant is better than the dining room. Overall I was not impressed for what I paid to eat.
First time there. Sushi was just ok. The one called "WONDERFUL", the fried shrimp tasted like it had been fried a head of time and was cold and chewy. That really turned me off, sorry! The waiter was good but the food I give it a 2 star!
Everything was good, could be better flavored for it to be delicious. The chef seemed annoyed that we all asked for the yum yum sauce and we didn't want the other ginger one, why? He ran through the whole meal prep extremely fast, maybe he was tired idk. But seemed that we got the last of it and they wanted us out...
Came here over the Christmas holidays. We asked for hibachi but we were told it would be a 45 min wait, so we went with regular dining instead. We noticed only one hibachi table was taken, so I can only assume the 45 min wait must've been bc of only one hibachi cook that night, but who knows. The first thing I noticed was the white PAPER laying atop each table. I gotta say, that definitely took the restaurant down a notch for me. I expect paper tablecloths at an all you can eat crawfish boil, not a sushi restaurant who is also charging me $10 for a lemon drop martini. After checking out the menu, we decided to just go with some appetizers and move on to something else for our dinner. I will say the appetizers we chose were pretty great! However, as far as returning here, probably not for me, bc if I am going to sit down in a "nice" restaurant to eat with my family, paper tablecloths is not ideal.
Service was poor, but the food was good. Knowing there were only 6 total customers in the restaurant at that time makes it even worse in my opinion. I will probably go back, but next time I'll just be expecting to wait a while for someone to take our order and also a while to get our order.
Be cautious ordering off the kitchen menu. I can't comment on the hibachi, but the kitchen can be a bit hit or miss. The rice had entirely too much white pepper, and the soba noodles were overcooked. The soup and salad were good, and the service was fine. Overall, the experience was okay, but I may choose another restaurant next time.
For what we paid the food was served hot, the fried rice had no favor. The meal over all was bland. The appetizers were served after the main course. We sat for 15 minutes before our orders were taken.
Love the food, love the service, hate the price. That doesn't mean we wont go back. 7/20/22 I have to say I am saddened by this place now. The walls are dirty, the soup bowls were dirty, the food is way over salted, the show part of the food prep is barely there and the service is way off. At one time we would be able to go in there and the wait staff knew our drink and food preferences, knew about my allergies and were awsome. This has been a steady decline and it is not worth the price we pay for the meal. It really does seem like the staff are just going through the motions vs putting effort and attention to detail to their craft. Please fix this place, this is not a off day thing. This is a stopped caring thing. 2/28/23 Food got real salty, floors were sticky. However, I got a chance to speak to the owner, and she seemed very concerned with the problems I brought up. Hopefully, she will address them.
Food was delicious from my couple of experiences. Went there with the family a few times, the 2301 roll is absolutely wonderful, and the yakitori and gyoza are tasty, too. The service has been pretty good, no real complaints but nothing stellar. Maybe some very slight delays, but still good and fairly attentive. My BIGGEST complaint is that it's always very warm in there. Been in different rooms even when it wasn't super hot outside, and it's still hot inside. The atmosphere is otherwise fine, the place is clean and decently nice, but they need to lower the temperature a little to make it more enjoyable in there. I like the place, and would go back much more if they'd get their A/C straightened out.
The sushi tasted horrible, was the wrong color and of poor quality. The food was overpriced. However, my friend enjoyed his meal (not sushi), and the waitress was friendly and polite.
Not much was Japanese except the sushi. Which they had an excellent selection. We did the lunch Hibachi. It was basically just your average stir-fry and your only selections were beef, chicken or shrimp. The chef did an excellent job!!!! But the shrimp was over cooked. But that is common in hibachi type restaurants. But it was just a basic ASIAN (as opposed to specialty Japanese) stir fry. But it was tasty and not a bad price on the lunch menu. I would have been very disappointed if it had been the price of the regular menu.
Atmosphere was beautiful and peaceful! Our server was on her fourth day and was still learning! She was very kind! The sushi chef was also very kind! I had a crunch roll and it was good! The calamari was okay, BUT the pieces were HUGE. I ordered the lunch walnut shrimp, and i was expecting something totally different. They were understanding of my goof and took it off our ticket. First visit was okay but we do want to come back to try the hibachi side!
This location has issues. The room where we were seated was freezing cold in a bad way. My kids teeth were chattering and nothing could be done. This attempt to copy Benihana failed. The wait staff was slow and unorganized but the hosting staff and bartenders were great. Will I go back NO. The food presentation was weak at best without much favor. Teriyaki on everything is not the answer. The sushi was good according to the company I ate with. The chef was a nice man with some style. Again I will not go back.
I have been on the fence about writing a review because, in general, I like Tsubaki since the food has always tasted good. My last experience was an absolute drag, though. Our waitress seemed confused about everything and as if she simply didn't want to be working. Not everyone's food was brought out at the same time. The first dishes were brought out and we sat waiting for silverware. And waiting. And waiting. Someone finally was in sight where we could ask for some. We waited a while longer for our other guest's food. And waited. And waited. I decided to ask about it and again we waited. By how long it took I assume they hadn't even started making it until after we asked (and it was not at all an elaborate order). Basically, the restaurant was not busy and still terribly slow. It wasn't often that someone was around for you to ask for help. The only people you really saw were the men at the sushi bar. The food tasted ok, but the experience just isn't worth it.
Service was good. Food was extremely salty. You could see the salt on the white rice. The chef salted Everything! Family at the table with us had two kids that were mis behaving to say the least. I got a cup of water spilled in my lap and parents never said a word or corrected their kids. So much for a date night with my wife..
I think there was a miscommunication somewhere because my order was supposed to have steamed rice and not fried rice. I dont like fried rice so I’m riceless for my chicken katsu 🥲
The food was good, we had Hibachi and sushi/sashmi. We haven't been in a while (almost a year) because the food nor the service was good then. I did not receive my sushi/sashmi until everyone else was done with their hibachi, in fact the waitress asked if we needed to go boxes before I even got to eat...not to mention we were not checked on throughout the meal to see how we were doing i.e. refills, or to let me know about a delay on my meal, etc... I'm sorry but when I'm paying to eat out at any restaurant i shouldn't have to ask for the normal essentials that should be with my meal, for example: soy sauce, a tray for the soy sauce, chop sticks, straws for drinks, etc... All in all it will probably be a long time before we come back to try again! One more thing, it was very cold in there. And as with the other times we've been before, it's either extremely hot or cold, depending on the season of course. I did notice as we were leaving. They had space heaters, trying to warm everything up. And not working for mild winter weather.
I recently visited Tsubaki Japanese Restaurant and had disappointing lunch with my family. The food was overcooked; the calamari was like rubber, teriyaki chicken was very salty and dry. Out of two appetizers and three entrée, only one was palatable, which was sushi. Save your money and find another place to dine. I will not be back.
I'll NEVER go back there. In a party of 5, everyone was served in a reasonable time frame. My order however, did not come out until everyone else had eaten. I complained to the waitress and all she could say was "sorry." The manager came and blamed the kitchen staff and took my order off of the bill. I didn't eat it because it was sushi and menu didn't indicate that. I can't and won't eat raw food. I don't care who's fault it is, the restaurant as a whole is to blame. It will be cold day in hell before you see me there again.
We were not greeted when we walked in, that should have been my first clue of what to expect ahead. When it was our turn to be seated the hostess/waitress looked at us and said "Yes" as if we were there for anything else other than eat. I said "Yes we are here to eat, there are 4 of us." She walked us to our table and never introduced herself. After getting our drink orders she disappeared and I guess the sous chef saw me looking around for our waitress/ hostess (not sure what she was at this point) and he was the one who found her and sent her back to our table. I ordered a drink (was not ID'd) and when she brought it to the table, tried to give it to my daughters friend. And when we asked her questions about the menu she seemed annoyed. My daughter was asking a question about some of the rolls and she told her flip the page back on the menu instead of just answering. You should know your menu up and down especially if charging people that much. Food was nothing special, portion sizes are WAY TOO SMALL for the price. She NEVER asked if we needed anything, or check to see if we were satisfied with everything. We only got refills if she came to drop something off at the table and we had to ask for them. She never gave updates on our orders, only took 2 salad bowls so we had dirty dishes crowding the table the entire time. When we needed to-go boxes a random person came to help while the girl was over at the bar laughing and talking to another waitress. I really hated to leave her a tip but there is such a stigma about ceftain races not tipping I did anyway. Wish my daughter had a better sweet 16 experience.
Today is March 10th, 2023. My wife and I just got home from having dinner here, and it was not as pleasant as we had hoped. My order came out, with my wife's extra noodles. Apparently her order was "skipped" over. We did not order hibachi and were confused how this happened with only 3 other customers in one other booth. I had to request the extra side, after I was asked if I wanted it when my order came out. The waitress (Luna) must've been having an off night, despite the fact they were not busy and appeared fully staffed. My wife's order arrives 15 mins after mine, with the yum yum sauce that tasted... Wrong? Not like it has been for the past few years. Along with all these obvious problems, I'm still finishing my plate whilst the busboy who rushes to approach us and started grabbing plates and cups from the table as I'm still putting a fork in my mouth. I understand wanting to clean the table and do your job, but he didn't need to have his hands 5 inches from my food and face. We don't what happened to this place, but it will definitely be a while before we return, if at all.
Stopped in after reading this was “the best spot in lufkin” (haha) and had an awful experience here. Our table cloth was covered in someone else’s hair. Hair in our food. The service was absolutely terrible. Our waitress did not once stop at the table to check on us, we had to ask someone else for a refill on drinks. Our food was not as described on the menu. We waited over 30 minutes after we were finished eating to finally get the check (we had to ask a busser for our ticket) and waited another 15 minutes for our server to finally come get the ticket. We paid $50 for a meal that tasted awful, service that was so bad, and wasted half of our evening waiting on a ticket. Would absolutely not revisit this embarrassing excuse of a restaurant.
Everybody walks around like they are half dead .. I wasn't greeted ..the Asian lady just gave me a menu and walked off never came back to see was I ready to order. I walked out and will never go back . Bad customer service and rude employees .. one man was washing dishes , touching trash then came to the floor " didn't see him wash his hands "🤔 gross.
Horrible sat down at a table with a dirty table cloth no service after sitting at the table for 20 min and no one helped and there was only a few customers the waitress was goofing with friends at another table
Customer Service was good but overall the food was a no! Paid $60 for 2 lunch plates & a sushi roll. The plates had only 8 pieces of meat total including 4 bites of chicken and 4 bites of steak. Wish i would’ve gotten a picture. First take out order from them & never again.
We had the hibachi and ended up having the management take our meals off the bill. We paid only for the drinks and a spring roll, which was tasty. The other foods they cooked for is was shrimp, fried rice and scallops. The chef blanketed all of it with way too much pepper. The shrimp and scallops were rough and rubbery. The fried rice would of tasted just fine if it didn't have all that pepper! Also we were disappointed because the chef didn't do any impressive moves with his cutlery and no fire! Also the waiter filled our soda only once and didn't check periodically to see if we wanted a refill. I recommend that if you want hibachi, go to Tokyo steakhouse. We would have gone there but they didn't have the hibachi on the day we wanted to go.
This was only my second time at a hibachi restaurant and we went in today and the hostess sighed as soon as we walked in as if she was upset that she now had to serve us. I told her we would like a table for 5 and so she went to start clearing off a regular table. When she came back up I had asked if it was possible to get a table where they make the food in front of you. She then proceeded to look at me and very angrily told me “that is a HIBACHI table not a table!” And looked at me as if I was stupid. We exchanged a few words and then she laughed and walked off saying something under her breath. When she came back she started making a bunch of sarcastic comments. This is the worst customer service I have EVER received in my ENTIRE life. I do not recommend anyone go here. There is an AMAZING hostess at Tokyo Japanese Seafood and Steakhouse down the street where they serve bigger portion sizes as well. I will definitely be making sure everyone I know gives business to them rather than here at Tsubaki.
Very disappointing experience. The food was excessively salty across the board. The fried rice in particular was overwhelmingly salty and almost inedible. The noodle soup was also heavily over-seasoned, with far too much salt added, completely overpowering the natural flavors of the ingredients. Proper seasoning is basic and fundamental. I hope the restaurant takes this seriously and improves the quality control.
We just moved here from Los Angeles and were excited to try hibachi here, but this was honestly a very disappointing experience. After we were seated, we waited about 15 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us—while a family seated after us was helped immediately. The hostess eventually noticed we hadn’t been served and took our drink order, but the drinks never came. When my husband flagged down another waitress, she seemed reluctant and told us she had to re-enter the drink order because it was never submitted. From there, everything stayed slow, and we were repeatedly ignored while other tables around us received prompt service and attention. The difference in how we were treated was obvious and made us feel like second-class customers. We won’t be returning. If I could leave 0 stars, I would.
Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing due to the service. Our server was not very friendly and made us feel rushed. She brought us the check before all of our food had even come out, which made it feel like we were being pushed out rather than welcomed. The lack of attentiveness really took away from what could have been an enjoyable dining experience. It was our first time there. Definitely won’t be going back.
Tempura plate…everything tasted the same…for both of us. We couldn’t really eat it. We ate here last year and it was excellent. What changed? Perhaps we had a different meal. Do NOT recommend the tempura. I think the “shrimp” was chicken. Unsure what the scallops were. Also, the bathrooms were disgusting. The floors were so sticky, they almost pulled our shoes off. Last time we came, the entire place was pristine.
