¡Enhorabuena! 🥂😌.
This was arguably the best culinary experience I have ever had in my life. Honestly the best food I've ever eaten at a restaurant. The wide variety of flavors with the perfect balance was absolutely outstanding!
Dining at Alabaster is a definite treat. The food from the appetizer to the dessert is top notch. I had the razor clams followed by the hake and both dishes were fantastic. Especially the hake (merluza)--it was absolutely divine. For dessert I enjoyed the Baba cake--it was a perfect portion for a dessert. The people at the restaurant are very professional and helpful. I strongly recommend this restaurant--it is a really wonderful place!
Our evening at Alabaster in Madrid, spurred by a friend's glowing recommendation, turned into a delightful culinary adventure. We opted for the tasting menu, where each dish came with its own story—some told beautifully through artful plating, while others left a bit to the imagination. But here’s the twist: what some dishes lacked in presentation, they more than made up for in flavor. Each bite was a revelation, with rich, layered tastes that danced on the palate. The unexpected contrast between the visual and the taste made the experience all the more intriguing. Alabaster is the kind of place that reminds you—sometimes it’s what’s inside that truly counts. I’m glad we took the leap and explored this hidden gem, where flavor reigns supreme. Definitely worth a visit for those who appreciate substance over style!
Ordered the tasting menu and had pleasant and knowledgable servers (they can speak English). It is truly an excellent meal when dessert is my least favorite course (even with cold broccoli served with the beef). Each course was different from the last and was just the right amount of food to leave not hungry and feeling fine. Would definitely return.
Restaurante Alabaster, situated in the heart of Madrid, is an establishment that defies the ordinary and embraces the exceptional. you are greeted with warm, complimentary bread. The Old Fashioned cocktail was a delightful way to kick off the meal, perfectly balanced, and a testament to the skill that Alabaster boasts. I had a fish tartare — Fresh, delicate, and subtly seasoned, it was amazing! The veal rib plate was no less impressive. It was cooked to perfection - tender, succulent, and bathed in a rich sauce that left me wanting more. my experience at Restaurante Alabaster was nothing short of exceptional. Restaurante Alabaster is more than just a dining destination; it's a culinary journey I can't recommend it enough!!
Food and service really great. My absolute highlight was the cheesecake. Newly created, like a mix between crème brûlée, cheese cake and soufflé, a dream. Service very attentive and fast there. Only the ambiance I find a little cold. But it can only be my feeling. In total a 9/10. I'd love to come back 👍🏼
What an extraordinarily sophisticated and posh dining experience! I arrived there (solo) out of curiosity after searching for nearby Gourmet restaurants on Google Maps. It was a rainy day, and I had been out walking.... I wasn't expecting availability w/o having reservations, but they happily accommodated me. Admittedly, I wish I had arrived better dressed; I felt a little too casual, but I was not made to feel uncomfortable by any means. Being solo... Graciously, the maitre d even went to the extent of asking if I was comfortable at the table I had been sat at: (around small, quiet, intimate family diners). Starting off, I had an excellent, perfectly balanced Manhattan. Next came an amuse bouche & complementary marinated green olives and a nice rustic house bread. Having seen other positive reviews & wanting to try as many tastes as possible, I chose the tasting menu. It turned out to be definitely well-defined perfection. Every course was executed with character and subtleness matching the ingredients and choice of assembly. Each course was satisfyingly built upon the next with no serving being so rich or powerful that it left me feeling overwhelmed or unprepared for the following dish. I didn't choose the wine pairing, but I asked the sommelier instead to choose a nice dry white wine that would compliment the complete tasting menu. Excellent job!!! I felt happy and indulged at the end.
From beginning to end Alabaster demonstrated a phenomenal dining experience. The space is elegant and comfortable. Our table of four did the chef's tasting menu with wine pairings. The front of house staff were all kind, attentive, and informative. Special kudos to the sommelier who's pairings were exceptional and who took the time to educate us about uncommon grape varietals around the country. She was a delight. The chef's offering that evening made for a fantastic tour of the seafood and other flavors of Galacia. Through the balances of flavors in each dish it was evident much thought and care went into them. This is a restaurant staffed by consummate professionals at the top of their game. It was a pleasure to dine here.
Food is really delicious and prices aren't crazy town. Make sure to make reservations ahead of time (easily done via their website). Know what to expect and you won't be disappointed. I had the razor clams, baby scallops, and streamed fish. From top to bottom, the presentation is worthy of their accolade. The service is also very good. Razor clams are sort of a luxury food so it's expected to be good. However, the razor clams here are dressed in a way I've not had and were very interesting on top of delicious. Definitely my highlight here and made my visit. The scallops were expectedly good but the breading with the shrimp, which is indeed an interesting take, was a bit overpowering in terms of both taste and texture. I could not feel the softness of the scallops and the shrimp was too savoury for the subtle taste of the scallop. Maybe this is a dish more for local taste. It's just not for me coming from an Asian culture where we many dishes we bread/wrap and deepfry. The fish was perfectly prepared. I knew exactly what I was getting into and it was delivered without a fault. The fish was fresh and moist as I dug my fork into it and the skin was sumptuous. The seasoning is simple but that's all you need for this kind of dish and it was balanced to perfection.
Wonderful restaurant, not sure why this doesn’t have a Michelin Star. The restaurant design is modern and the ambiance is nice. The servers are extremely attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The seafood here is amazing but someone in my party got the Iberian ham and it was so tender. The appetizers were amazing, especially the mushrooms with breaded eggs. The desert was good and tasty. We shared the tiramisu, the lemon cake and orange cake. The orange cake was the most unique by far and my favorite. I got the red mullet and it was fantastic. Definitely a great experience and great food.
Great spot for "Tapas" or rather high-end small dishes. Very knowledgeable staff to assist with selection including the wine. It is not cheap but the experience was excellent

Food was good not amazing was expecting better quality presentation and taste So disappointed The monk fish was mediocre for this type of restaurant. The ray was better. The service was excellent attentive and professional at all times. The food could be better and not worth the price tag unfortunately

I’ve always avoided restaurants that focus more on technique than on the product itself, and Alabaster is one of them. Elegant place with good service, but the food feels flat. Neither the tomato, the “berberechos”, nor the meat stood out. Well executed, sure, but far from exciting. The wine list is classic and rather dull, with only a couple of Champagnes worth noting.
Pretty great tasting food. The presentation is trying to be Michelen but not quite getting there. We actually preferred the food at another Galician restaurant called Morgana we had a couple days prior. Unfortunately they are just a bit racist here. My wife and I came in on a cold rainy night with reservations at a bar table (beware, you don’t get the full menu, even though you are sitting at a table). We were treated much different than everyone else around us. The only difference is that my wife’s ethnicity is Latin American (we are both from California). Differences broke down like this: When we came in and told the hostess we had a reservation (she was the nicest person there, by the way) she sat us in our little table. Moments later a man approached my wife and told her that we couldn’t eat without reservations. That was weird, so she explained (her Spanish is perfect, as in scholarly perfect) that we had reservations and were just seated. The man appeared embarassed and apologized. Every other table was greeted warmly by the waiter and given a small appetizer of cheese and some mini breadsticks. Not us. When we ordered a bottle of water, the waiter dropped it off at our table without opening it. Every other table had their water opened and poured for them. At the end of our meal (which included three glasses of wine apiece) and two desserts, we were not offfered complimentary digestifs (every other table around us was offered them). The only other table that seemed to be receiving the cold shoulder were a pair of gentlemen that appeared to be gay (or just very friendly with each other - who am I to say?) They came in towards the end of our meal, so we couldn’t be sure. If you are in a party of all white folks and aren’t swinging a rainbow flag, then this is a great place to eat. We asked for wine pairing with our food and the sommalier was on point with every glass. He was also super professional and polite (just a bit snooty) and ended up taking over as our waiter as the evening progressed.
