Always had a good experience at this location! It can get pretty busy at lunch, but they're alway spot on with the food they provide. The staff are nice, quick and efficient. You can see directly into the kitchen when you get your food - you get an clear view of how they manage the kitchen. There is a good sized dining space which is kept clean. The parking lot has a ton of spots, I've never seen it full. Pro tip - there is a sign stating you can only turn West when coming out of this location onto 8th street. Be sure to heed this warning!

I love coming to this location. It's clean. Other than lunchtime, its not too busy as other locations. I love using my coupons from the mailers. I remember when Mexican music would play back in the day...now it's more top 40. But that's ok. Chicken still tastes great 👌. I come here when I feel I should eat healthy instead of fried chicken.

While the food was not great one must consider the low price. I just witnessed a very rude customer mouthing off to a worker whom remained calm and polite. He did far better than I would have. I might have told her to leave the store OR WORSE.

I always go to this location even though it is 30 minutes from where I live, I drive 30 minutes because of the great service. These workers that work here are all great but there are 2 that treat me so well I always have to tip, they're Denise and Sarahy they always tell me "you don't have to tip" but I always do.

Update to my review after El Pollo Loco Responded to my original Review: Why would I join the Rewards program to get a free Pollo Bowl when I clearly said "I love the BRC". I do not love or have any interest in a Pollo Bowl. Now if the Rewards program offered a free BRC after I buy 10....Bingo, I'm downloading

Chicken was cooked to perfection and fresh and hot! But they ran out of mashed potatoes AND forgot to put in any salsa in the bag when I asked for extra. I’m glad I checked before leaving drive thru window. There still wasn’t enough salsa given for a 12-pc meal though.

My first time at El Pollo loco. Very impressed. I think it’s a good balance between getting a taste of Mexico and fast food. I had a reasonably short wait but really liked the flavours.

Once location centrally located in Manhattan beach area off the main road. Large parking area and clean store interior with ample seating and updated look. Food during lunch was hot and fresh. I ordered a two piece meal with mashed potatoes, side salad, and corn tortillas and it was good. Salsas at condiment bar has spice and and good kick so I would avoid giving it to the kids. Chicken pieces seemed small but I think that is the case everywhere and not just this location. Staff was friendly and helpful. Condiments bar area was fully stocked. Will be back.

The food at this Pollo Loco was tasty enough, but there was one problem with my chicken avocado bowl. That was that the avocado was not fresh. It had brown around the outside. I was very disappointed in the avocado. Also, I felt the bowl did not look anything like the photo, and the double chicken tostada bowl didn’t look like the picture either. The content was a little lower than what the pictures showed. If I had felt like coming back, I would have, but I didn’t feel like it. If the manager sees this, then maybe he will arrange for me to have a free chicken avocado bowl.

It was ok...i dont knw how can over cook dark meat.. i came in because it was a childhood memory, and I haven't seen one in years...wasn't as good as I remembered. Staff was very helpful and knowledgeable, but food was ehh. Especially the overcooked chicken

The chicken was overcooked and chewy. The floor and tables were dirty. There was a cone covering a wet spot on the floor and evidence of food and water spillage throughout. We had to wipe down our table before eating, it had crumbs and dried soda spills all over it. A glance about showed most of the other tables were like that. Can't say they were too busy to clean as no one was at the drive thru and maybe 6 people eating inside.

The cashier was friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately our meal was missing tortillas and the rice tasted burnt. Everything else was good. I recommend this location works on making sure the food is cooked right and that all items are included. With that I would have gladly left a 5 stars. Hoping for better next time.

When will you guys get my order right? If I ask for a burrito with nothing on it but the plain tortilla then give me that, because in the end you're charging me for a burrito and I'm paying for it.. . Never understood that in fast food restaurants, any other restaurant I go to, they make the food exactly the way I order it.. . Not everyone can eat everything that you guys put in it.. .

Went there and drive thru person asked if would like to try their new chicken and bacon quesadilla and I said, sure I'll have two. She then said we don't have bacon. Lame totally lame. I tried the 4 combo two sides and small drink, but she said I'll have to charge an extra dollar for the drink. Lame, I'll go to the other places from now on.

Messed up on my order: No ice in my drink when I asked for EZ ice; Gave me 2 green sauces only when I asked for 2 green and 2 red. No napkins (this is usual) Did not give me the tortillas that come w the 5 dollar pollo bowl combo. Would give 1 star but the 2 kids at the windows gave decent service (saying "boss" at the box and "sir" at the second window) so one extra star

We arrived around 9pm, the place was fairly dirty. Food was fine but the service, left a lot to be desired. The young man taking our order was new but he was polite, we asked the young man if they served coffee and out of nowhere, a heavy set lady (whom I can only assume was the sole representation of a supervisor or manager) working in the back shot back in a very rude manner and tone of voice: "We don't serve coffee here!!!" Mind you, we weren't even talking to her but she didn't allow the young man to respond to our questions, which were met with the same rudeness. Needless to say, we won't go back there on the count of that lady's rude demeanor. Any restaurant that offers decent food or better and does not match that with "excellent" customer service, does not deserve my business, nor anyone else's. If you value respect and your hard earned money, then don't patronize this Pollo Loco restaurant.

the worst service ever at El Pollo Loco, manager horrible slow attitude,waiting to long to place my order, I had to ask if they were only serving at the drive thru, when they finally serve me the servings were half way and the tortillas shredded and old.Personnel do not use gloves and touch the food with their bare hands, I notice the lady frying the tortilla chips dropped some and just pick then up with her gloveless hand and just put them into the fryer when it should be put in the trash.Health department should stop by, also was trash everywhere.DO NOT GO THERE.

Horrible service. I get a 30 min lunch it has been more than 3 times that I order a Chicken Avocado Burrito - no cilantro dressing - no cilantro - with WHITE MEAT - Tortilla not burned I get to my job and it has red meat, gives me a tummy ache. Today I drove back spoke to the Manager notifying her about this all she could do was charge me extra for WHITE MEAT which I'm ok with it. Just get my Damn Order Right. It took 6 cashiers and 1 Manager to charge me $0.50 to put WHITE MEAT ON MY BURRITO on a BURNED TORTILLA.

It says the store opens at 10:00am. I went ahead to see if it was open, the door was locked. There was somebody already working and looked at me and ignored me. It took about three minutes until that person went to open and says they weren’t open. I asked him when they will be ready, and he said we don’t know yet. It is unprofessional to have a schedule and not be open and it’s supposed to be open.

Ordered a DOUBLE CHICKEN tostada salad and there were maybe 6 little squares of chicken...I asked for NO PICO...you put a big glob of it...I asked for extra sour cream...barely any on the salad...I asked for extra cheese...none. why can't you get it right??? DO NOT EAT HERE. I feel poisoned, even one day later. They served me chips with rancid oil all over them, i only ate one or two. I'm sure this was on purpose, as I don't see how it could happen by accident.

I was here at 9:15pm on October 25th and they were "closed." Asked a guy taking out the trash what time they close and he said "8pm" The hours online say 10 pm is close. Not the first time this has happened. Just wanted to let the owner know in case they are unaware of this.

Placed online order and got a confirmation that it would be ready at 9:35 p.m. and when I arrived at 9:30 p.m. the store was already closed. The store hours online shows they are open untill 10 p.m. My credit card was also charged.

If i could give negative stars, el pollo loco would be at -5. The last few experiences I've had with with the el pollo loco on pch in Manhattan Beach have been quite terrible. On the most recent visit, after getting in the drive through and serving two people ahead of us, they told us they ran out of chicken. I couldn't back out of the drive through because they closed the driveway behind me. They then told me I would just have to wait for the others to recieve their food before i could leave(with no order and no food). When I asked the cashier how they ran out of chicken, the cashier said "you don't know our problems, we don't have people so we closed early." And that I was rude needed to leave.

I used to live in CA and was excited to go here as it was a favorite. This place has gone tremendously downhill. I don't speak for all the franchises, but the one on Sepulveda in Manhattan Beach was terrible. I tried going at two different times and had bad results. The service was slow, food was cold, not at all as it used to be.

Rude manager. The short chubby and dark skin young guy whom seems to be the manager has no clue how to handle customers. Zero customer skills and poor store management. No wonder why this store is less busy and it looks like a dying business. It would be my last time there , that’s for sure

Doors locked at 6pm on a Friday. People eating inside, I assume they were employees. 2 of them just looked at us and went back to eating. No sign on the door saying dining room was closed. Drive thru was open. I'll just take my business to another location from now on.

At lunch time on Sunday, I walked over from Polliwog Park with two hungry children in a stroller. I ordered 2 meals using the El Pollo Loco app. When I arrived I was refused service because I was not in a car, they said only the drive through is open. The app did not say this when I placed my order. They would not hand me my order through the door they opened to speak to me. My credit card was still charged for the meal they refused to provide. I tried to cancel using the app, but a pop-up with the telephone number of the store told me to call the store for a refund. They refused.

Just ordered your new Taco Salad - what a joke. After complaining about it, the manager made me a new one, however, this one wasn't any better, but that it had a little more lettuce. I took it home anyway, but did not finish it because it was just tasteless. The chicken tasted and looked like it had been sitting out for a long time, it was very dry. The chips were stale. The guacamole and corn were tasteless; well, the whole salad was tasteless. I love El Pollo Loco, but will never order this salad again. Frankly, I feel cheated because the salad you advertise and the salad you serve are two different things.

The El Pollo Loco Restaurant chain is hit or miss when it comes to service and/or food quality. The Manhattan Beach location is a difinitive miss when it comes to both service and food quality. I am not basing this review on a single experience, but rather on several visits to this particular location. I am not sure if the associates or the management are to blame, but one or both needs to change. My most recent visit was May 26, 2021 about 3:30pm. My girlfriend and I came into the restaurant with an empty front counter, nobody (except the cook) in sight for almost 5 minutes. When the associate finally showed up from the back, we placed our order and decided to dine in. Our order was certainly prompt, but was hardly appealing. My girlfriend's double chicken tostada order was woefully lacking in chicken (about 6 small cubed pieces) which my girlfriend brought to the front counter associates attention. He took it back to the cook who then added what probably should have been the correct amount of chicken. My girlfriend was further disappointed by the lack of beans she had requested in place of rice in her order. The avocado slicess in the tostada were brown and off-flavor (probably because the avocado was going bad). My 3 piece chicken (leg&thigh) meal contained chicken that was both old and dried out. I believe it was the remnants from the 12:00 lunch crowd. Nasty!! My girlfriend and I were in agreement not to frequent this El Pollo Loco Restaurant location ever again unless some serious renovations in service and food quality are enacted.

Horrible service. The drive thru women was incompetent. There were three women inside arguing over the two burritos I ordered if both were supposed two have beans or just one. Of course it was just one. They finally got it right and the women handed me the bag and said thank you, bye...I then proceeded by asking for the drinks I also ordered. She forgot them 🤪

I ordered a chicken bowl, but they didn’t put chicken in it lol. Just rice and beans, thanks for doing a great job when i was the only customer there; it’s not like they were busy and helping others. laughable

This place. So freaking frustrating. I have NEVER had one normal transaction here. Either they short change me, give me back too much change, out of a menu item, forget to put an item in a bag (very common). This had been going on for YEARS. Every so often I'll tell myself that its probably gotten better and try again. But nope. I wish the owner would sell it to someone that cares or tear it down and make it an In & Out.

Ordered from here via Grubhub, was ripped off for 2 drinks, salad dressing, and not one drop of salsa. AND, the chips on the salad were stale. Never again.

Horrible experience 20 minutes in line, chicken was chewy and dry, Rude employees.. will never go there again. Just because they do a very high-volume at this location does not mean that they should lack in consistency.

This place is horrible I placed an order online for pick up. When i arrived, they said they ran out of chicken and they were closed, it was only 7:15 pm. I told them they charged me already, and they said I don't know what to tell you. That's just sad. No sympathy. Not even apologetic whatsoever.

Ordered just one single item. They got it wrong. Return for the correct item. Not a single napkin or utensils packed in the bag. I will also add it was dinner time, but they had no macaroni and cheese, no mashed potatoes, no corn or no cold slaw. Needless to say, I won’t be going back.

I drive all the way there needing to feed an entire family and they decide to close 15 minutes early on a Friday night. Not to mention I can see two very uninterested and unwilling employees sitting down chatting away with the lights off!! I am extremely disappointed and will never come back!!! 😡 Thanks a lot on behalf of El Tarascó Mexican Food whom we offered all of our business to tonight.

It's a wonder this place stays in business. have you ever had the chicken at a fundraiser and it's weirdly "gross" as my kids might term it? Their chicken is that. And so is everything else one eta menu, how could that be, there's new fresh looking items, salads, - how could they all be bad. It's weird.

i kept calling to see if they had 5 chicken breasts available. i called to see if they would be ready in 30 minutes, they said and hour. another time i went through the drive through and they said that they would be ready in 45 minutes, so i came back an hour later, and they said another 15 minutes. if you want chicken breasts, i recommend not to come to this location. i would give them 0 stars if i could.

This place was originally one of my favorites but has been going downhill for years. Today it hit rock bottom. Kitchen is filthy, employees are aloof, lazy and unfriendly. Just horrible.

Stopped by to get my dinner on Sunday evening and was told they had NO White meat so went with three piece meal with rice and beans. After waiting in the car line for 20 minutes I received my food. I live five minutes away and when I got home I found all was cold and the chicken looked like it was deep fried and set in the sun for a day. All was uneatable so it was thrown in the trash. This was/is unacceptable for an animal let alone for human consumption. This was my last visit to any Pollo Loco for anything!!!!! The one star is ten times more than it should get!

Definitely NOT the same El Pollo Loco I grew up with. My Grande Avocado chicken bowl was half full at best and nothing like the picture!! The guacamole was decent but my avocado salsa was nothing like the awesome one they used to serve. I should have just tried the grilled chicken. The kitchen area was a disaster at 1:20pm with almost no one in the store. The bathrooms had sticky floors (Gross) and trash piled up and on the floor. I will not revisit this location. Ever.

For the second time now this El Pollo has had the worst service I have encountered in several years. It took me 20 minutes to give my order in the drive thru even though there was only one car ahead of me and one customer inside. I had to wait another 10 minutes when I got the window to pay. Then they wanted to give me the wrong order and told me I was undercharged. I will never go back to this location again! 😠😡🤬

If I can give a negative I would. I got the avocado chicken burrito. NO avocado at all. And the chicken was rock hard. Like left over stale old chicken. Horrible for a $10 burrito. Service bad. They need new management or management period.

The cashier made a mistake by overcharging the quesadillas. She then wanted to give us a refund however this one cook/manager or whatever tf he was talked us out of it and offered 2 drinks and free wings. We accepted but in the end, he basically stole $5 from us because there were no free wings. Would’ve been better if the refund was given. Watch out because they are thieves! Also, no one was dining inside, so that tells you something.

The person running the drive through said the store was closed early, and they could not provide a refund for an app order. The app tells you to contact the store to cancel, and they will not help. This store is consistently not open during posted hours, and it sucks for customers. Avoid the location if you can.

This is like a regular at all your locations I have gone to. Not sure what is going on and why el pollo loco here and in Hawthorne Lawndale and Gardena all do this. This is very inconvenient when we order thru an app and expect to be done by the time promised on the app. Now here we are having to go thru a busy SLOW drive thru. We all have busy lives so it’ll be helpful if you just don’t allow the app to let us order curbside when it’s not offered. Now I’ll be late to picking up my children from school because I was hoping to get a lunch for them before I picked them up. Now this line is not just slow but long and no way I can get out. Very disappointed

Food/customer service is always really good but man, the wait is really astronomical. *Update* after waiting 30minutes in line, I was told I had to pay for each creamy cilantro I wanted. When I told the worker that was no problem, she then closed the window, opened it and offered me 1 then told me she couldn’t give me nor sell me anymore because they are only for the salads. How on earth are they going to tell me I can’t use a condiment how I see fit if I’m paying? Also, if they are 75cents each, why did she give me 1 for free but not allow me to buy any more?

We also liked the experience and interaction with the staff, some of whom over time had become familiar faces. Unfortunately, this El Pollo Loco location has deteriorated badly, for starters they now close weekdays for dine-in customers already at 5:00pm, whereas most clients would want to enjoy a dine-in experience between around 5 pm and 7:30 pm. Regretfully these limited restaurant hours for dine-in customers is a great inconvenience, particularly for the many loyal local patrons. In addition, the quality of the fare is getting poor. The pieces of chicken we got yesterday were still raw at the bone but scorched on the outside. This was not the first time. OK, once it can happen, that an under-cooked piece ends up getting slipped in, but not repeatedly. Not wanting to get sick we had to discard them. Also, even though explicitly asking for the salsas, none were furnished and having a plastic bag handed over through the car window one of course does not readily think that is is necessary to check. We are very disappointed – seemingly the owners of this location do not care. We also noticed that the staff is not particularly friendly, the reasons about which one can only guess. Regretfully and with quite sad sentiments we decided that we will no longer patronize this El Pollo Loco establishment.

Ask for extra cilantro dressing and pay $.55 for watered down dressing. They had zero napkins and to top it off, the girl working the drive thru window had a horrible attitude. I never want to return to this location. Go to the one on Oceangate and Roscrans if you want great service!
