This place is absolutely fabulous! The customer service is great and efficient. The menu is absolutely fantastic. We went for Sunday brunch and we were absolutely spoiled! My best friend enjoyed am omelet that was not at all shy about all of the fixings! There was plenty of meat! The pancakes were phenomenal. The banana nut muffin was to die for. You can taste that it was made in-house and with tons of love. I ordered the honey fried chicken with biscuits and gravy and breakfast potatoes which came with a side of fresh fruit. First off, the fruit was the most ripe and fresh! The chicken was fried to perfection. It was very juicy and the skin was so crunchy 😋. The gravy and pepper biscuits were great and the breakfast potatoes did not disappoint. We each had both of the breakfast/brunch cocktails and had a nice buzz, not to mention, they were tasty! This will be an absolute go-to every time I visit LA!
Such an iconic, and wonderful place. I live in New York but am in town for work and have been hitting up all of the old family stomping grounds. The Kettle is one of those classic places. I’ve been coming here with my family since I was a little kid. Every time we came, my dad ordered the Oeufs Pain Perdu, and my mom got their signature blueberry muffin - they are really special. There is one amazing waiter that has just been there for as long as I can remember, and today - when I stopped in for a little breakfast before heading to LAX, and back to New York - that waiter was there. Always a really wonderful experience at The Kettle!
Great home tasting comfort food ..good sized portions..friendly service..today was beautiful so we sat outside..great ambiance. We had the honey fried buttermilk chicken with house potatoes ..fried onions...the DIY Bagel with lox..and the kale and quinoa salad with garlic bread. All excellent choices!
My daughter and I ate lunch here and we both were very pleased. The staff was friendly and efficient. My daughter's health dictates a gluten free, dairy free diet and they were very accommodating in making her pulled pork BBQ sandwich with lettuce as the bread. It was attractive and she said delicious. I had the Roast Beef sandwich with Au jus (sp?) Both came with seasoned fries. Mine also was great and very tender. We absolutely loved this place and will definitely eat there again!
We met friends on our 9 hour layover. The restaurant was perfect. We enjoyed a leisurely meal with great service and delicious food. Located 2 blocks from the pier made it even better. Mahalo!
I hate giving 5-start reviews because it leaves no room for improvement. That being said, here we are. I stepped inside per the instructions on the side outside. I was ushered to a booth with more than adequate social distancing. Coffee was offered before I even got seated. The Hangover was the recommended breakfast and it didn't disappoint. I didn't even look at the menu. /Shrug What can I say? Everything was right and service was perfectly balanced to provide service without being a nuisance.
love love love the french onion soup! great place for some delicious warm food in the late night.
So we loved it so much of course where going to bring good friends we haven't seen for over a year do to the covid here, and once again not disappoint, the wait wasn't as long, 20min. And juzt loved the food and the company, great atmosphere and buzzing with happy people, our friends never been here and they told us there coming back with or without us, lmao, you totally got to try this Place out, 😄
This is truly a South Bay gem. Get anything from a delicious fresh salad to a burger all they way to a roast beef dinner. This place also serves breakfast all day so it’s a hit, they are truly famous for their Onion Soup, the best I’ve had, topped with melted cheese and can be substituted with any sandwich. Also the roast beef sandwich is amazing, upgrade it to a melt, it’s worth it!
Awesome place to eat! We were in a rush as we needed to head to the airport and they accommodated us right away and made sure our food was out on time. Delicious menu and well priced, serves are generous and they also accommodate for gluten free diners :) Huge shout out to Anita for looking after us and making sure we were well fed 😄
The food is delicious. Reasonable pricing too. Many options to choice from. We sampled their soups the corn chowder and the chicken tortilla. They were both good. If you buy one of their suppers a soup or salad comes on the side plus a garlic toast or muffin which they forgot to give us. So we got the stir fry chicken. It was good. Lots of veggies plus we got the chicken tortilla it tasted hot and cold which is interesting. Also we got the chicken club with fries. It was good. The portions were huge and just right. So make sure your hungry lol. They also have a patio. I love their flowers and decor inside as well.
Wholesome good value food from a 50yo restaurant in the best coastal hub of Los Angeles. Reminded a couple of Australians just how close American beachside hospitality is to our own 🌊 ... On this occasion our tasty Kettle dinner was complemented by some very attentive and upbeat service from Yoselin 👍
This is one of our favorite places to go in the LA area....we regularly drive down from Culver City to eat here. The food is always delicious no matter what you get, and made from scratch. The staff is super nice and attentive, but not annoyingly so. Also, they are close to the Manhattan Beach pier which is always a good place for an after-dinner stroll. But the best reason to come here, in my humble opinion, is the French Onion soup...some of the best in town!
My wife and I decided to end our day with a short road trip to Manhattan Beach. We drove to The Kettle and it was the right choice. We were seated almost immediately and the hostess and our server were incredibly friendly. It made us feel as if our business was truly appreciated. To drink I went with coffee. I drink it black and thanks to our attentive server Saira it never went empty. We began with the garlic steak fries. From a few seconds before they even hit the table we were hit with this incredible garlic perfume that rose from the plate. They were perfectly fried and had enough garlic to ward off a pack of vampires. So when it came to my burger I didn’t want to go double fries so I got my roasted garlic blue burger with onion rings. Now these onion rings were huge! They had this outrageous crunchosity. ( yes I am aware that is not a word, at least not yet.) On to the burger, cooked medium rare and oozing with an incredible blue cheesy garlicky deliciousness. Absolutely one of the best burgers I have had in a while. My wife went with the French Quarter burger with no pickles or onions on brioche instead of sour dough. For her side she went with fresh fruit. We most definitely will be back
Came here for Sunday lunch to catch up with a friend. It was super busy which in hindsight makes sense, but even so we were able to get a booth within 10-15 minutes. Very good atmosphere and service, I got the blacked chicken rigatoni and would definitely recommend it. Close parking is hard to find but it's Manhattan Beach so it's always hard to find.
Amazing restaurant with great service and portions, great prices, and tasty food. Our server was great, and our fries were crisp, seasoned, and not oily. The turkey sandwich was really good and very largely portioned. For the breakfast plate, the eggs were cooked perfectly along with the bacon. The French toast were good but not some of the best I've had personally speaking. 100% recommend giving them a try, and I will be back for more!
Great location. Food (chicken fried steak & eggs / Cowboy Benedict) was very good. Service was top notch. Definitely recommend dining here!
We lucked into the best table in the house (out on the patio with a view of the ocean). Really good burgers, exceptional service and ambiance — I really took advantage of the endless refills of my Arnold Palmer. Not as expensive as I would have expected and no wait to walk in and get a table at 6pm.
In business since 1973 and open 24 hours, this is definitely one of the most popular and probably one of if not the best diners in Manhattan Beach. It has a great location right downtown on the corner and they have a ton of seating options, both indoor and out. I love the design of the restaurant. It looks kind of like a mountain cabin in the middle of the city. They don’t have a dedicated parking lot, but there is a lot of metered street parking and pay lots close by. We had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated for a Saturday morning brunch, but the wait was worth it. Our server was very polite and our food items came out quickly however, I will admit they were slow with the drink refills. The menu is not very large, but it has a ton of great classics on it. Eggs Benedict is my favorite breakfast dish so I was really pleased to see that they have many different Benedicts on the menu. I also love how their breakfasts come with a side juice because that’s one of my favorite things to have at breakfast. For my first visit I chose the Crabcake Benedict and thought it was fantastic. The crabcakes are truly great and I loved every bit of it. I did not like the house potatoes side, there was not very many of them, nor was it as good as hashbrowns. Aside from that it was a great breakfast. I love how they are 24 hours and definitely would recommend to anyone. I plan to stop back in again to try more items sometime soon.
Excellent location. I was 3 days post-op so could only have the broth from soup. Boyfriend ordered food. It looked and smelled amazing. Loved the outdoor seating option where I could see the ocean while enjoying the company, atmosphere, and soup. Service was acceptable, they could have stopped by a little more often.
Great food, great service, and great location. This was the first restaurant I went to while I visited Los Angeles and it didn't disappoint me at all. The chicken breast was tender and delicious. The mashed potatoes and spinach was good as well then had the Arnold Palmer to end it. Very nice. Five ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
So glad this was the first stop after landing at LAX. Beautiful location right in the heart of Manhattan Beach and a couple of blocks from Manhattan Beach Pier. A nice steady flow of patrons dining in and taking out orders. Would have loved to sit out on the patio and it was a bit busier out than in, and definitely couldn't wait to eat, but still sat along the windows. Their French Market Onion Soup is out of this world. Chef's Kiss. Explosion of different cheeses. A slice of mozzarella and or swiss over the top and a large ball and pieces of cheese melted in the broth and pieces of baguette. The pieces of Parmesan Garlic Toast were an excellent touch and great for dipping as well.
Excellent restaurant and great service. The French onion soup was delicious and the zucchini spears phenomenal. Definitely coming back for those. The grilled cheese was fine. The French quarter burger was also amazing. I forgot to grab a muffin, but the blueberry, carrot and banana are delicious. Our server was Gail and she was lovely. Very attentive and good at anticipating our needs. Parking is metered fyi. They have a sign that says service dogs only out front.
Coworkers and I flew into LAX for work on a Monday and needed to refuel before driving to our destination.. Two in the group had enjoyed The Kettle on prior visits and this was my first time.. It was a great experience!! Nestled into historic Manhattan Beach, The Kettle offers a wide variety of great eats.. Breakfast all day, supper items starting at 11a, and renowned muffins for the win!! I enjoyed a coffee cake muffin as an appetizer.. I mean, I'm down for something savory and sweet before the meal and this muffin delivered!! Served warm, lightly iced, and with softened butter on the side, I could have just ended my experience there, but wait, there's more.. I opted in to enjoy their red wine braised pot roast, served with red skinned mashed potatoes.. I enjoyed the mixed greens salad with balsamic vinegarette dressing on the side.. Everything, and I mean everything about the pot roast, potatoes, and salad were enjoyable.. The salad was delivered crisp, cold, and with fresh ingredients.. The potatoes were amply portioned and mashed with skins on, which is my preference.. But, let's talk about the roast, shall we?? This is among the very best pot roast experiences I've had in a restaurant setting.. The roast was well shredded and the red wine braise and resulting gravy was decadent.. I was wildly satisfied with my menu selection.. I'm including a few other pictures of items enjoyed at our table by my colleagues, too.. This included a breakfast offering, the garlic cheese fries, and a banana nut muffin.. The atmosphere was on point, Jonathan's table service was outstanding, and the food certainly cemented my desire to return again in the future.. If you find yourself in Manhattan Beach and hungry, I strongly recommend you give The Kettle a try!!
The Kettle is a South Bay institution.. with an amazing menu, great food, and late night hours that are pretty rare in these parts. They are still open all night on weekends! The food here is very well done with burgers, salads, steaks, great pasta dishes, and tons of appetizers and treats for everyone. The panko chicken tenders are a favorite, grilled chicken club, house burger.. you really can't go wrong. Think upscale diner where you can get anything from a quick snack to a full meal and they have you covered for breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night. Extremely good, and equally popular The Kettle is a locals' favorite and it is easy to see why.
A Manhattan Beach Classic: The Kettle Located just a few blocks up from the pier on Highland, The Kettle has been a personal favorite since I was a kid. It’s one of the rare spots in downtown MB where you can still get a great meal late into the night. If you’re heading in, ask for Monica—she’s our favorite and provides amazing service. My go-to order with Kristina never misses: The Soups: Both the Tortilla and Onion soups are fantastic (and they come with those iconic, delicious muffins). The Mains: You can't go wrong with their Wedge Salad and a classic burger. Whether it’s a nostalgic dinner or a late-night craving, this place is always on our list.
Wonderful lunch spot. On a "busy" corner with plenty of seating and very family friendly. Staff are all very friendly and attentive. Portions were solid and easily could leave leftovers if you grab an appetizer and a main course. Had the fried zucchini. Large pieces that were perfectly crispy on the outside and creamy, yet not soggy on the inside. Both the crab sandwich and the Ruben were loaded with a perfect balance of meat, veggies and bread. The Portuguese sausage soup reminded me of being in Porto. Not spicy, but packed with spices and flavors. Overall a great spot for lunch and some seating has an ocean view, even if from a few blocks away. 100% would go back.
The Kettle in Manhattan Beach is a true local gem and an absolute must-visit! This iconic spot has been "locally world famous" since 1973, and it's easy to see why—it's a welcoming, family-owned institution that feels like the heart of the community. From the moment you walk in (or spot that giant kettle sign glowing outside), the vibe is cozy and lively, with friendly staff who make you feel right at home. Whether you're stopping by for a classic breakfast, brunch, late-night bites, or dinner, the menu has something for everyone. Their housemade muffins are legendary, the French onion soup is rich and comforting, and staples like the burgers, avocado toast, or the red wine braised pot roast are consistently delicious and satisfying. Portions are generous, prices are reasonable for the area, and everything tastes fresh and made with care. What really sets The Kettle apart is its reliability—open nearly around the clock (24 hours on weekends!), it's the perfect place for early risers, post-beach crowds, families, or anyone craving comfort food at any hour. The atmosphere is warm and unpretentious, with that classic California coffee shop charm mixed with a neighborhood diner feel. It's no wonder it's earned its status as a cultural landmark in Manhattan Beach. Highly recommend—whether you're a local or just visiting, The Kettle delivers every time. Five stars for the food, service, and that unbeatable sense of place!
What an absolute gem! We wanted some brunch on a Sunday, and were able to be seated immediately. We opted for the deck/porch but the inside of the restaurant was lovely as we walked through. Complimentary coffee and muffins are waiting for you upon entry, the hosts greeted us with friendly smiles, and our server was prompt and courteous. The prices are incredibly reasonable for the portion size, and if you are here for brunch- ask for a side of the fire roasted salsa for the savory dishes. The bacon avocado burrito was delicious, the chipotle sauce on top was a delight and I wish I had asked for an extra side of that as well. The Beach Fizz cocktail includes house made blackberry lemonade and has just the right balance of tart and sweet. Did I mention breakfast dishes are offered with a complimentary small juice? Situated on a decently busy corner, we enjoyed watching the cars, people and dogs go by- it wasn't too noisy at all. Next time we are in the area, we will definitely be back!
The Kettle saved us. Last-minute dinner in LA, everything else was a 2+ hour wait or needed reservations. They were like: “We’re open 24 hours. Party of 20? No problem.”Seated immediately. Service was top-tier. Shout out to Monica, our waitress. She was already refilling drinks before we asked. Fast, sharp, on it. Burgers were big, filling, did the job. But the banana pancakes! Unreal. Came with a special banana syrup… too good. Brought the extra syrup home 😉
Wonderful restaurant in Manhattan Beach. We were just on a stopover LAX for a day and I found this recommended online. So thankful! Food was terrific and the staff were terrific, especially our server Anita. For an FYI, the "small" salad that comes with the petite cup of soup and small salad combo is plenty big. And tasty. Highly recommend here! One other FYI, my guess is The Kettle normally gets pretty crowded, but no wait today for lunch due to heavy rain all day.
I ordered a Reuben sandwich. It was outstanding. I was amazed as to how large it was and how well balanced the ingredients were that were used to make the sandwich. Sides offered with the sandwich included a French onion soup that was also delicious. The servers were friendly and helpful. The most amazing thing was how reasonably they priced their food.
Really good service. Was able to seat our party of 10 Scouts returning from Catalina Island no problem. Ruben was both unique and delicious. Broccoli cheese soup good but not as good as the Ruben. Pancakes very good. Fast and good service. IMO reasonable prices for the amount of food you get. If I could do fractional stars would give 4.5 or 4.8 but all around experience was so positive it was an easy choice to round up to a 5 star.
This diner is in a prime location, just steps from the ocean and surrounded by cute shops, ice cream spots, and restaurants. It’s a great place to hang out before or after your meal, especially since the whole area is super pedestrian-friendly—even if parking can be a bit tricky. Many nearby street spots are metered, with limits ranging from 24 minutes to 2 hours, currently at $2.50 per hour. There’s also a parking structure nearby, but it’s on the pricier side, so plan accordingly. As for the diner itself: food was solid, exactly what you’d expect from a classic American diner. The staff was very friendly, and the whole place had a welcoming, laid-back vibe. There’s a nice outdoor patio that overlooks the sidewalk—perfect for people-watching— and also dog friendly.
We stopped in for lunch on a weekday and were seated right away. They have a pretty large menu with lots of standard diner/bar options. Our food came out quickly and the servers were friendly. Of all the restaurants on the main streets in Manhattan beach, I think this restaurant isn’t as crowded because it’s a bit further back from the pier which might be nice for larger groups.
I sat on the patio at The Kettle on a quiet Sunday and ordered the pancake breakfast with chicken sausage and a guava mimosa. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and exactly what I needed to start the day gently. The patio was bright and breezy—perfect for lingering with a mimosa in hand. The pancakes were fluffy, the chicken sausage had great flavor, and the guava mimosa added a tropical touch without being too sweet. After breakfast, I took a slow walk down to the Manhattan Beach Pier just a few blocks away. A peaceful way to ease into the day. I’d absolutely come back next time I need a cozy brunch and a little sunshine.
Found this restaurant on Google and boy was it good! Excellent selection of appetizers, main courses burgers, etc. I had pot roast. It was wonderful. We ended up moving tables twice and finally going to the bar. The first time we moved. The sun was blasting in my eyes. The second time two girls were seated next to us with perfume so strongit would ruin the meal. In fact it was so strong when we got to the bar one of the women behind the bar asked me if I was wearing perfume. The service was excellent. I have nothing bad to say about this place. Check it out for sure.
Our server was Jazmin, and she was friendly, attentive, and personable. My entire party agreed that she made us feel at home and like we were friends. The food was delicious. My two friends and I each had the pot roast dinner. The meat was so tender and well seasoned, instead of spinach, I had sautéed broccoli, which was perfectly done, and the mashed potatoes were done just right. We were there to celebrate my birthday, and Jazmin made it a wonderful experience.
5/5 Stars - Exceptional Dining Experience! 🤌🏼⭐️ I had the pleasure of dining at this fantastic restaurant, and I was thoroughly impressed! The service was top-notch - fast, friendly, and attentive. The portions were enormous, and the food was absolutely delicious. - Quick and quality service - Huge portions (be prepared to take some home!) - Friendly and accommodating wait staff - Scrumptious cuisine The atmosphere was welcoming, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was exceptional. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone seeking a satisfying meal with outstanding service. Will I return? Absolutely! Rating Breakdown: - Food Quality: 5/5 - Service: 5/5 - Value: 5/5 - Atmosphere: 5/5
Great location and warm, welcoming environment. The atmosphere was inviting and had an old school vibe. While highly touted, the onion soup was good but lacked the crunch of some bread or croutons. The crab melt however was absolutely delish as was the spinach artichoke dip. I also got their famous honey oat muffin to go and it was phenomenal. The service was fairly standard, nothing that stood out. We will def done there again and have that dip!!

This is the nicest Big Boy I've ever been to lol. It was definitely giving off those Midwestern diner vibes. Large menu covering all the basics plus daily specials. Got the roasted garlic blu burger medium, added bacon. One of the better burgers I've had in a while. They also serve alcohol and are open 24hrs. More laid back than most of the upscale establishments in the area.
This was my first time eating here, the views are amazing from the outside dining area! We enjoyed sitting in the sun for brunch and the food was amazing! It seems they were a little short staffed as the waiter seemed a bit distracted and forgetful, he forgot to take our order for quite some time. I'm super excited that this is open 24 hours! I think we will become regulars here! I Loved my options and really enjoyed the visit besides the service
I had a very positive experience at the Kettle restaurant in Manhattan Beach. We had the apple pie and it was delightful. The portion size was excellent and the pie was sweet and flaky with plenty of ice cream! I am giving the experience 4 stars because the wait time to place the order was too long and the waitress who took our order seemed to be going through the motions. She was not rude but she did not seem interested and was not very friendly. Overall it was a good experience and I do plan to return to the Kettle.
Today I had an early dinner here. Tried the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger. Ordered medium rare with fries. First bite it seemed like they had made it medium. But later on the dryness of the burger made me realize it was probably more of a medium well. It has been the same story no matter which burger place I go. I didn’t complain: one, because it tasted good; and two, because it would probably come back pretty much the same. I am seriously considering that on the next time I go to a place and order a burger, I’ll take with me a signed document saying I take full responsibility if I suffer from eating undercooked meat. Maybe then I’ll get a jucier burger. Well, despite all this rant about eating well done or medium well burgers, I actually liked this burger. Bacon was very good and BBQ sauce too. Fries were crunchy and tasty. All in all a good experience.
Food was absolutely AMAZING. Place was packed but I didn’t have to wait when I went at 2 PM. Our waiter kept forgetting about us though and only talked to us twice. Maybe because it was so busy.
Nice place. The wait was a bit long for lunch on a Saturday but I guess that's how it'll be for popular places. The waiters need to come around a little sooner to take orders for seated guests. We waited a while. That was the only flaw. Once we gave the order, the food came quickly and the waiter kept checking now and then if we needed anything. Easily one of the best fried cauliflower I've had. I don't like fried food typically but this was just right. Not too much of batter or oil. It was spicy with a mix of buffalo sauce. Thoroughly enjoyable. The onion rings were way too big. So get it only if you have the appetite to finish them. The quinoa black bean burger was perfect.
We visited Manhattan beach today and saw quite a few restaurants open. We dropped in at The Kettle to have lunch. The restaurant requires all patrons to wear face covering to enter the facility. Customers are seated in every other table to keep social distance. We felt safe dinning here. This is our first time here. We ordered a fried cauliflower for appetizer. This is quite good compared to other restaurants. Since the waitress told us that the French onion soup is famous here, I ordered the BLT sandwich with a cup of onion soup. The soup is bit too source for me, but BLT is very good with a nice crispy beacon and half an avocado. My wife opted for the egg Benedict with fries. She seemed to enjoy her meal. Our waitress was very friendly. She enthusiastically helped us to select our food and periodically checked on us to see if we needed anything. I also like the atmosphere of the restaurant with nice modern decor and outdoor seatings. There seems to be a lot of people dining here as it’s located just two blocks from Manhattan Beach pier. In fact went down to the pier after lunch. It was a nice day out having lunch near the beach. We really enjoyed how it feels to dine out again after a few months of Quarantine.
My bestfriend and I have this tradition to visit The Kettle for brunch every time we roadtrip to SoCal. Located on a corner just blocks away from stunning Manhattan Beach, The Kettle has a large selection of breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner entres. Service is friendly, food is good and compared to Bay Area prices, the cost is decent. I ordered a Half-Sandwich which came with a soup, salad or fries side. I picked the roasted turkey with cranberry mayo, a French onion soup with cheese and bread and this also came with sliced fresh fruits (honeydew melon, watermelon and pineapple). The sandwich was delicious, French onion soup was a tad salty and the fruit was perfectly ripe and sweet. Booth seating is a bit tight, I'd recommend requesting table seating Can't wait for our next visit.
This place was a regular for my husband growing up and he’s taken me a few times. The service has always been good in my experience with friendly staff. The greens omelet was great with a good amount of veggies but the chipotle sauce on top was just ok. And the potatoes are just ehhh with no flavor, not really worth eating. The blueberry muffin with butter is delicious!! My husbands chicken tortilla soup was really good with a large portion of toppings. His Reuben sandwich was great, though not a traditional Reuben since it has ham and turkey instead of corned beef. They only serve drip coffee, no lattes :( We will still be back!
First time I've tried to go there on a weekday when it wasn't packed. On weekends it usually a 15-20 min wait. I can see why. Food was good - first time I've ever seen a "crab melt" on a menu (liked it), service was good, atmosphere was good except for some hyperactive children almost yelling but that's not the restaurants fault. The only problem was the lack of parking. It took me 20 minutes of driving around to find a space nearby. I will definitely return (when it's not crowded.)
We started our Manhattan Beach fun with a food meal. A fun location not far from the beach with many menu items. The services was quick and attentive. The decor was nice and it was a vibe. The food was good! The banana foster French Toast blew my mind. If you are in the area give them a try!
Food was ok, but I just had bacon & eggs. Server was fast & pleasant. But the ambiance was the best part. They have outdoor & indoor seating with the indoor seating being a little more elegant like an old time pub. It wasn't too busy around 7:30 AM in a unusually warm Saturday at the end of February, but got busier as I was finishing & there was a line of people waiting by 10:30 or so. I went here because this was a very popular restaurant during the late 80s & 90s, open 24/7 like The Pantry, but with beach culture. That vibe seems to be there still & it's very popular with locals.
Visited this spot for Brunch on the weekend. Was about a 20 min wait for a table but they have a very cute seating area and the ambience outside the restaurant is very cute. The blackberry lemonade is amazing!!!! As was the garlic fries. Definitely get the garlic fries! Bacon benny was good, but the fries were the highlight.
This one of my sisters FAVORITE restaurants. ate crab cakes and onion rings, the crab cakes are the best tasting crab cakes I have eaten, w/ the sauce they have w/ each one pairs perfectly. Our waitress was very proud to be working for such an warm and great Godly safe family vibes and atmosphere. Ashley is a true meaning of hospitality. Menu prices are extremely moderate there are some foods on the menu unbelievable portions sizes lol. Restroom toilet cleanliness arrangements should have been managed better about a 3 /10 for a place so lovely. It was wonderful my first time but, am returning soon this yr25 excellent restaurant
Portions are huge! Excellent draft beer, terrasse heater is welcome, all meals were tasty. Mashed potatoes felt like home. Steak was well executed even if some of our group would have preferred some steak spices on it, onion soup was excellent. All in all, felt good in a more homestyle kinda food, very minor stuff that kept it perfect but nothing major on a constructive way. Would go again for sure.
Cozy place that's always open. Good beer. \nHorrible food. \nI've been the several times and there's nothing on the menu worth eating.

I’m grateful that they’re open for 24 hours over the weekend as they work as an option for food after hitting the bars in Hermosa Beach. We came around 1 am and there were not too many people. I wish their service was faster. They had a lot of workers with nothing to do but we still had to call them over to order after waiting a while and the server was chatting with another instead of processing our checks. The food tastes good but could be a couple dollars cheaper. I ordered the BBQ pulled pork sandwich which came with a side of fries. It tasted good though the sandwich bun got overwhelmed by the rest of the sandwich and got too wet and it all fell apart with a lot left on the plate. I think a more traditional bun like toasted sliced bread would work better.
Just ok and exactly what you expect, a typical old school diner vibe. Food was ok, we had breakfast and it was pretty basic. There are so many places to go in MB and without a personal connection to the place, not much to attract us to the Kettle. Maybe better super late night?
Location is great. Service was nice. Food: I had “Stir Fried Chicken w bell peppers, onion and coconut rice”. I didn’t taste anything on The chicken. Initially it comes w soy sauce. I tasted the sauce: it was horrible. Tasted like liquid plastic. Sorry. Luckily I asked for having the sauce on the side!!! Instead of the Soy Sauce I asked for Ranch. On the end (with my re-creation) the meal turned out pretty good and healthy. I got red and green bell peppers, onions and broccoli (which should have been broiled little longer) Raw (not cooked). I am ok with that > in this case the food should be called: Pan baked chicken with veggies and (coconut) rice. Nothing was really stir fried (in my opinion).

The waiter who helped us was very nervous. He made us unhappy. We ate a meal worth 160 dollars. We asked for a lunch box for the remaining food, but he deliberately did not bring it. He should have told us to go and get it ourselves. After the waiting time, we went and got it ourselves. We had to tip. It was only for the kitchen staff.
A memorable experience for unfortunate reasons! Monica S. Needs to renew her waitressing license and/or find another career path unrelated to providing service to patrons. Come here for the ambiance and proximity to the beach. Food is atypical American comforts; nothing to write about. Don’t come here If: you don’t want your waitress breathing down your neck to make a quick decision on your meal of choice (the menu is 6 pages)! Or If you like to finish eating your meal before you’re given a check and to go boxes at the same time, without being asked first. The theme here is rushed, pushy and condescending service. My friends confronted her about her behavior and she had a RBF, insincere apology (her actions did not match her apology). yuck! All the staff here look miserable too! Which I fully understand - it’s the worst of times and all that. But, it might be related to management and policies…all speculation but highly possible.
Today, I had a really bad experience at the diner. When I sat down at the table, I asked the busboy to fill up the tiny coffee cup they offer for free. At the end of the meal, the waitress charged …
Trying to enjoy my meal and all of a sudden I chew on a hard plastic thing that was in my sandwich and hurt my tooth. Manager only took the sandwich off my meal and waitress did nothing and acted like it was no big deal. Don’t waste your time and money here. You’d think they’d comp the whole meal but no. Left with a sore tooth and an empty stomach.
This isn’t about the food at all cause I love this place. But I have shown up multiple times for them to say they are closed well before posted closing hours. I don’t live in the beach cities and I come a long way to enjoy this place and the beach. So it’s disappointing when I show up 1-2 hours before closing and the staff telling me “we were really slow so we are closing early”. The dining room still had at least 10 tables. Just unfair in my opinion and takes away from the charm of this place.
