We spent a memorable lunch and afternoon at The Forge today. Friendly and engaged staff, a cozy atmosphere, and superb food, including the lamb and chicken curries, roast wild boar, and eggplant moussaka. Even the desserts were terrific. You need The Forge in your life if you are in the Estepona area.

Lovely hosts (English) long established, food is excellent service is great. Whether eating on the terrace (shady seats available) or in the restaurant there is a feast for your eyes. Convivial atmosphere modest prices. Parking can be tricky but possible to park in layby and walk a short distance. Well worth the visit as all regulars will tell you.

Nur durch Zufall entdeckt auf dem Weg nach Casares. Die Zufahrt liegt in einer Kurve auf einer Bergstrecke. Leider keine Aussicht aufs Meer, aber dafür sehr schön eingerichtet, sowohl auf der Terrasse als auch Innen. Bedienung sehr freundlich und das Essen war auch sehr lecker. Es öffnet nur zum Mittagessen! Man kann auch gut mit einer größeren Gruppe das Essen genießen, aber nur mit Reservierung. Es lohnt sich danach noch nach Casares zu Fahren und die Aussicht auf die Stadt vom Castillo de Casares zu genießen.

My favourite place in the area for a special experience. I have been eating at The Forge for at least 10 years, the quality of the food is always fantastic. The setting is unbeatable and the hosts always make you feel welcome. It caters for veggies as well as meat eaters, and jazz lovers!

Was recommended this restaurant by a good friend out in Spain. Her taste and judgment was spot on and we found ourselves one evening up in the picturesque setting of the Forge restaurant where we enjoyed a fantastic experience. Simply Magical!!!! We ate at this amazing restaurant last Sunday & from arriving to leaving we could not fault anything. The position, decor, ambience, food, staff and gorgeous owners. What a find!!!! We were so ecstatic that we booked to have Xmas lunch here with our family for Xmas day. The best Sunday lunch ever!!!

We had been meaning to come to the Forge but never were organised enough as it has always been fully booked in high season. We came for a mini break for our anniversary (in Sept) and ate at the Forge (at last!!) and it didn’t disappoint. Mike, Athene, the staff and Lucy the dog were all so lovely, the setting is beautifully rustic, the background jazz music perfect and the food, well the food doesn’t disappoint. I had Devils on a horseback to start, chicken livers wrapped in bacon and pan fried whilst my wife had baked figs with blue cheese and bacon - both lovely. For a main I had wild boar and my wife had a slow cooked lamb kleftico, both served with small roast potatoes and fresh vegetables. We couldn’t manage a dessert but had a coffee and a caramel liqueur. I cannot recommend The Forge highly enough - if you’re in the Casares area it has to be at the top of your list to eat at, but make sure you book in advance!!!

Love this beautiful restaurant! The setting is so perfect, tucked away within the trees on the hill in Casares. The inside is full of charm and traditional decor, even a fireplace! The food is delicious- good, hearty but extremely tasty. The lamb Madras is the best I’ve ever had! Just remember to book! You won’t be disappointed

Amazing food, cozy atmosphere and friendly service. We had the duck breast which was one of the best in last couple of years - super flavorful with great texture. Also spicy empanadas as starter were amazing. Cape malay curry likewise. Overall, very pleasant experience - will come back!

A gem along the road to Casares. We have sometimes passed, but not stopped until now. We now realize that we have missed some great dishes served in charming surroundings by nice waiters. We will now visit The Forge as often as we can.

This was without a doubt a massive highlight of our holiday. Family ran place with a quirky, hill setting that plays soft jazz in the background. This place has a warm homely feel that is radiated from the 3 generations of the same family that work there. Fabulously fantastic restaurant if you enjoy fresh fillets of fried fish. Decent variety of vegetable fritters and hot slabs of meat. Waiters were professional, courteous, friendly,funny, attentive,kind, intelligent and good. Try the creamy pilchards in a spicy sauce, too die for. The ambience, environment and atmosphere of the restaurant was delectable and great. We were 7 of us who were celebrating our friend, Harry Perkin's 44th birthday. He was so happy he started clapping most of the night and his brother Alan was singing out of pure joy. Mary Maplehead was happily getting tucked into the pork pastry served on a terrine of garlic and pumpkin paste. One of the waiters recommended the house red so we ordered 1 bottle plus some apple juice. There were 2 couples on the next table that were celebrating a birthday and they ordered wild boar, venison, mutton, goat cheese and tinned tuna. They were dancing like wild animals for most of the night. The head waiter was brilliant and very knowledgeable about the local wines, meats,apple cakes and fish. His hobbies included fishing and whistling so he told us. The creamy cocktails are worth a try as are the hot cheese slabs. We loved the side salads, they were stupendous and out of this world as were the roasted root vegetables. We are definitely coming back with the local orchestra that were are proud members of.

Great venue. Excellent service. Warm welcome. Food delicious. My chicken liver starter was slightly dry and overcooked and tasteless....my only complaint. The lamb curry was delicious as was the chilli chocolate mousse. Good proper Irish coffees too. A most enjoyable lunch out. Highly recommend this above average restaurant.

Our first experience in this Forge, i just can't recommend it enough, chilled out atmosphere and lovely views matched with polite and quirky service with a lovely accent. Our food was just delectable and flavoursome and well presented, but not over pretentious. A real credit to family run restaurants in these most testing times. We went here for my birthday as a group of 6 including a 2 yr old and I could not recommended highly enough! The setting is lovely and the owners and staff were very friendly and helpful especially with the little one and prepared a lovely salmon dish just for him! Our meals were fantastic and we had a mix of duck and orange, steaks, and chicken dished as well as some fantastic starters! Very well priced and with an excellent drinks selection as well. We would highly recommend to anyone thinking of paying them a visit!

English run restaurant, which has become a well-known and well-loved restaurant enjoyed by locals. The service is just how it should be, relaxed and attentive without going over the top. The wine was excellent and the Sunday lunch is some of the best roast dinners I've had out. The Yorkshire puddings was the only "fault" I could find (prefer much larger ones) but that was far outweighed by everything else.

Wir waren absolut begeistert! Schon beim Betreten der Finca hatten wir das Gefühl, willkommen zu sein und spürten direkt die warme und positive Energie. Der Service, das Essen, die liebevolle Einrichtung - alles hat einfach gestimmt. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist TOP und man schmeckt die Liebe in der Zubereitung der Gerichte einfach raus. Wir kommen wieder und haben definitiv einen neuen Lieblingsort zum Essen !

Went for the first time. Small intimate and cosy with a log burning fire. Full of character and quirky. The food and drink was very good. Staff were lovely. A little bit on the expensive side. Very small car park which made it difficult to park. Would recommend and would go again.

Was nutzen sie besten Absichten, wenn das Restaurant nur am Wochenende öffen hat und man kurzfristige Reservierungen nicht annehmen kann? Wir kennen das Forge seit einigen Jahren und waren oft dort; hätten es gerne erneut besucht, leider war das im gesamten März 24 nicht möglich. Leider haben die Forges keine Webpage mit aktuellen Hinweisen, sondern nur das dammned Facebook - das ist aber überhaupt nicht sehr aufschlussreich. Nun ja... Dann halt künftig ohne uns, Nachtrag: Der letzte Satz der Antwort des Inhabers spiegelt die Souveränität der Betreiber wider. Schade.
