Price is adequate. The food is well proportioned. Tastes just like it should. The staff are very polite. Know what they're doing. Definitely the place I like to go when it's late at night and I want a good meal.

My family stopped at a fast food place across the street, I was looking for something vegetarian and ended up at Maria's. The veggie burrito was fresh and tasted great, the staff was very kind.

Open 24 hours a day. I need 10-20 big breakfast burritos real ealy once in a while for work. I set it up the day before, give them a time and show up to to everything being ready for me in the drive thru for quick pickup. The burritos are delicious and everybody enjoys them. Great service!

Boyfriend and I got tacos de tripa and asada fries at 2 am and it was delicious! Definitely coming back here, they were really quick on making the food as well. Really appreciative on places like this that run 24/7 and still make good food.

Food here, is always on point! No matter what you order, it will taste the same the next time around. That's a big deal for me. Everything I've tried is full of flavor. I love that the burritos come with lettuce and tomato. The staff is hit or miss sometimes but for the most part it's a friendly environment. Same for the phones, they don't always answer but when you can get through its really fast service. I love this place for all the variety in late night meals! The roll tacos are my favorite!

I had such a wonderful experience at Maria's tacos! This was my first time here with my daughter. Chayanne was so friendly! Big smile! And fantastic attitude! The attitude projected was I love working here, he suggested food and said you'll love it! He was absolutely right! I had the shrimp cocktail with crackers and lemon and it was just as good as the homemade one I do at home❤️ my friends got the rolled tacos, they were so big and they opted for the Qty of 6 for less than 6 dollars! They loved them, My daughter she got the cheeseburger with fries and it was a good portion for an adult but she didn't have breakfast and ate it all! She said it was delicious. The initial place where you order is very small, they have a few little kids quarter toys and stickers. They have two tables and they have an outside seating area with a mechanical quarter horse. I didn't see a restroom. There is handicapped parking and regular parking but it's not a big parking area. They may lack in space but they make up in how wonderful the food is and the personality of the workers! We are definitely going there again 💗 great job Maria's Taco shop!!!!🙌🏼👏🏼👍🏼

I ordered off a DoorDash and the food is amazing. I got enchiladas, rice and beans and an extra side of rice. You guys killed it literally I’ve tried Victoria’s and could not stand it. You guys are the best and Merced. so I have my second order from Maria’s taco shop and it’s better than the first time. This is the best Mexican food in Merced.

I’ve been to other Maria’s Taco Shops, and similar restaurants, and most of them are good. Some are bad, but this one is one of the good ones. Their food is flavorful and their customer service is friendly. There’s a ghetto 7-11 next door, and rough individuals hanging around outside from time to time, but sometimes it’s these hood restaurants that serve the best food :)

I was glad to be home and eat some authentic Mexican food the Cali way! Still taste great 👍 I bought two burritos and took them back to NC with me for both of my adult kids and they said they were delicious 😋

This is hands down my favorite place in all of California for Carne Asada fries. They add a nacho cheese sauce onto the fries when mixed with their LEGENDARY Chipotle Sauce, makes a droopy and delicious mesh that is instant flavor town. This is the only stop that matters every time I come by Merced and it's always a guarantee that I eat an order of their fries. They also sell their Chipotle sauce as well, you can get a Medium sized cup worth of sauce or pay $60 and get a whooping 5 Gallons of the stuff! Absolutely great deal all around!

Update: I just got a asada supreme burrito and it was big. It was $10. I had like the burrito from Victoria's but they raised the price to $14.30. No burrito should cost that much. Maria's wasn't as good but $4 cheaper made it far more better. And it was good though. The food here is good. condiments which I like better than the other taco shops that are similar and Merced Maria's has the best. Update 4th of July 2023 I got a chicken supreme burrito it was so delicious. But I didn't like that it had several pieces of hard Gristle pieces that just should not be in the meat. Just having three bites of big pieces of Gristle makes me not want to eat this burrito anymore. But I still love Maria's the best..

went to visit for first time cause was craving for beef enchiladas plus tacos, not a bad price for the good portion and was able to add meat for the combo I paid for. The price was affordable for hubby's order which is 2 enchiladas. Wish I can pay other method instead of card or cash. The ambiance was calm and nice to sit down either inside our outside with shade and safe enough for kids to run around because there is fence. We decided to dine in, place seems clean so well probably order again.

I love this place, my sister and I come in the early hours of the night to grab a burrito 🌯 or asada fries and the food is delicious everytime! They have never disappointed me, thank you staff for staying open 24hrs and with great customer service this family have never made feel uncomfortable or disrespected.

I’ve been looking for spots around Merced that offer authentic Mexican food to go. This place tops the list. I went in around 9pm and ordered 2 supreme burritos. The meat tasted fresh and had a good taste. My order was really quick and the lady working was polite. I’m hoping on my next visit to try their tacos and other dishes as their menu is big. Only thing is you must go inside to order because there is no drive-thru. Overall I recommend this place if you’re looking for lunch or dinner to go. Prices are very reasonable. Open 24hours! This restaurant reminds me of one I visit when I go to the LA area.

Sometimes cashiers are rushed and don't really make conversation. This cashier who helped us last night, smiled and made conversation. When we left she went out of her way to tell us, have a good night. Sometimes it's the simple things that make a good visit. Food was exactly as we ordered.

Maria's is great for when you need some fast, delicious, taqueria style Mexican at any time of day. Staff is always really kind and friendly and never skimps on the salsa.

Good fast food place away from the taco chains. Service is usually good so is the food. One of the rare times that a taco shop would be open 24/7 (except holidays). Prices are competitive to the taco chains as well. The place is clean and well kept.

Maria's Taco Shop is always good, plenty of parking and you can get in and out easily! There is no public restrooms but good seating for twenty of your friends, fast friendly service. But like everything else in Merced the prices have gone up a bit, but still reasonable. Over all Maria's Taco shop is still a good deal for your dollar.

Always good food. Never really crowded. Employees are always helpful and courteous. Outside is a magnet for the homeless. They tend to sleep in the back parking lot which is frightening when I am there by myself and it's night time. Other than that this place is great.

Got lunch today for me and the wife .ordered a #1and a 2 combination and 2 side tacos. Number 2 was ok but the 1 my wife said wasn't all that great and the 2 tacos were horrible.

For a place with Taco Shop in the name, I decided to try a plate with tacos in it. Severely disappointed with the tacos, the meat had no flavor at all, the tortilla was too hard, and not even a hint of onion or cilantro. The resteraunt itself is not bad, and it wasn't so busy that I could not get a table. Customer service was lacking, the lady working the register really did not appear to care too much about what she was doing.

I don't eat meat so I was happy with all the meatless options and the fact that its 24 hours. I ended up with the Chile Rellanos and enchilada plate. The Chile wasn't tasty, batter wasn't my favorite. The enchilada sauce was a little watery and an alcoholy taste ( i know some like that taste) but the sauce made the enchilada watery. There was a ¿lime mint green? Crema or sauce that I don't think was pictured and I just didn't even want to try it. I did.. I shouldn't have. The salsa was good. Fries were fire at the top where the salt was. Horrible when not hot or salted. The beans and rice were bland. I payed $25 for that plate, the fries and a bean and rice burrito. Fair for the amount t of food but just stick with tacos or something here. The meat may be good but everything else is no.

Time visited 6am. As our group walk in we greeted and about to place our order the server step to the side talked and smoched with partner 5 minutes before attending to us. Also one of the individual of our group needed to go to the restroom and was denied, they said only for employees??? (They have a sign posted restroom customers only)

Lady at register was rude when we ordered. We couldn't confirm what was on what burritos without her giving attitude. She didn't read back our order either. Food was good but a under seasoned.

Depending on the cook that's working the food comes out okay to great. Customer service can use an improvement but then that goes with lots of places nowadays. They're not rude, but you get the sense they want you to hurry up and order. Overall the place is not bad.

Kind and patient service. Answered all my questions about the different food choices. Good customer service. Unfortunately No Taco Tuesday. That being said, it was a nice quiet environment for a Tuesday. My mom just had her 1st chemo treatment that day, so it was nice to just sit and visit. God bless you.

Ordered chips and guacamole for $7.99 on DoorDash and received soggy chips topped with what was supposed to be guacamole but was mostly tomato and onion as you can see in the photo. Seriously, had to throw out the chips because they were all soggy and the guacamole was not on the side. Who does that? ☠️

Food was good. First time in my whole life eating lettuce in a burrito. I honestly didn't like that. For a supreme burrito it didn't have alot of crema. Maybe next time will be different.

I don't know whether to love it or hate it. I ordered a carne asada regular burrito. 1. Meat is cooked weird 2. They added lettuce and tomatoes! This makes it taste as a sandwich or a torta. Not a burrito. 3. Salsa must be spicy and it's not.

The food is ok but the lady that works the register is extremely rude. She’s worked there forever and has always been rude. She gives you the most annoyed death stare while you are trying to decide what you want to order as if you’re interrupting her sitting time. I ordered my son a child’s burrito. She was looking me straight in the eyes when I said “with meat and cheese only with asada please”. We got our order and the child’s burrito is beans only. I take it up to her and tell her and she blankly says our child burrito is beans only. Lol Um ok so even though you hear me ask for asada meat and cheese only, instead of correcting me And telling me they don’t do that she just puts the order in anyways. She’s very disrespectful. She creates a very depressing atmosphere there.

The signs say 'the best in town', but i don't think the food was that great. I personally have had better. Though you do get a lot of food for your money. Enough food to feed an athlete or feed yourself for 2 days.

The chubby girl at front area is a real bummer. Doesn't greet you. Kind of rude snarkiness. Rolled her eyes at us. We sat outside, minutes passed, I went to check on our food. It had been sitting there.. I said " you weren't gonna tell us"? She said " no, customers need to pay attention". We were the only ones there, as she was texting on her phone. Really really bad customer service. My burrito was ok. Nothing so yummy that I'd go back. And something hard I bit into hurt my tooth. Never to go there again.

Two stars because your different signs says it has "3.50" higher charge to use a credit card another sign says 3.5% discount to use cash, BUT you end up charging me about a 15% fee to use my card on a $8 purchase. As for the food, it's not bad and the staff is pretty nice.

Sorry. This place used to rock. It smelled strongly of Fabuloso. The chile verde was soupy and tasted old. The beans were embarrassing! They had the flavor of wet cardboard. The rice was packaged-like. My kids all had different meals and weren't very happy either. The place is clean, but not a cozy, comfortable place to dine-in. The cashier was just blah. No personality. Victoria's, just down the street, has this place beat, by-far! Come on Maria's! Get your act together. I've been going to you guys since Taco Bell closed that location and you took it over years ago. As well as your Atwater location, which also was an old Taco Bell location and is better than Merced's location, but still lacking. Seems like COVID changed this place. I hope it bounces back.

Stop by this place on our way out of town. Bathroom is located outside and is pretty clean! The girl at the counter was extremely friendly but the food was not worth stopping for. We got the rolled tacos and a carna asada taco. We will not be coming back.

Was my first time and last time there the cashier Andrea was so rude. We were making a big order and she was shouting like something up her ass. Never again. If this is the service they are giving to there customer then obviously they won't last long.

Just came at 8:50 pm , terrible customer service from front cashier . Could not get my order to her , was super rushed . I asked for no tomato on only two items of my order then they took It off of my whole order . When I asked about my order she ignored me had her headphones in . She didn’t even hand us the sauces she through them on the side for us to grab and our food was left on the other side . I have gotten good service from all the family members except this employee . I do not like to complain because I know this is not usual .

I called Maria's taco shop to order some food for myself and my employee's and the gentleman who answered stated that he was the son of the owner and then proceeded to curse at me and be extremely rude. Definitely will not be patronizing this establishment, nor will my employees. As the manager of one of the largest hotels in Merced, I will absolutely not be recommending this place to my guests any longer. I will actively discourage visitors to seek other options. I just wanted a taco salad, I dont know what that guys problem was.

This place is horrible ever since I moved to Merced 2006 this place has been a nightmare I literally don't eat there and I warn everybody to stay away I thought after not eating there for more than 10 years maybe things had maybe changed I was wrong be warned you have been warned the deluxe burger is over $10 and comes with lettuce tomatoes and cheese these guys are so pathetic they cannot put mayonnaise not even mustard on it but it's a deluxe they're burrito that I got from them the tortilla was so hard and crispy it might as well been a tostada I don't know and never had had a burrito in my life with a flour tortilla that cracks and breaks while you're holding it and trying to eat your burrito the asada fries they cannot even melt the cheese I mean literally this place after 20 years is still a damn joke I cannot believe that some things really don't never change their service lady had a horrible attitude now keep in mind this is in the past that's why I also stopped going I've been advised by some folks that she does not work there no more even then I still wouldn't go take my word when I literally would rather naughty for the night or day then to stop at this place again you've been warned they should strive for better food but I guess after 15 years after my latest experience it is still horrible will not be going there again for another 10 probably 15 years ridiculous that's what happens when a place that opens 24 hours and then nobody ever gets a break people become accustomed and just slap stuff together that's exactly what this food tastes like I give it a zero Stars if I could and a horrible experience and a bad review for me not to mention that they don't answer their own phone to even try to attempt to correct their mistakes again you have been warned

I am visiting Merced from out of town for business and let me tell you, ordering from this restaurant turned out to be a huge disappointment. The horchata seemed to be made from a cheap mix as it was unbearably sweet and undrinkable. The chile relleno burrito lacked any real flavor and the seeds weren't removed from the poblano pepper before putting it in the burrito. The quesadillas we ordered were also flavorless, not fresh and extremely underwhelming. Overall, I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone. For the sake of the Merced locals, I sure hope there are better Mexican restaurants out there.

Disgusting! Was there for a weekend in Merced. Only place open after we left the bar. Ordered Nachos, got fries instead. They just gave me a box of chips. OK. Paid &Asked for shrimp and guacamole ,they forgot it too. The chicken was NOT chicken. That’s a fact. Disgusting. This was two weeks ago. Stomach hasn’t been the same since. I couldn’t even finish my food, and I finish my food!! Especially Mexican food. I’m going to the doctors tomorrow to see what is going on. The customer service was ehhh as well. 2/3 of my crew are sick.

Food is Oky but they don’t tell you about 3% that gets charged after you already pay a fee for using credit card . Only reason how I found out was because I checked my bank account and seen they charged more then what my Receipt said , I checked it and then gave them a call. And then when they said that supposedly the machine charges 3% more. Like really you already charged me for using it and still charge more without telling you

Negative 5 stars..The service was extremely rude. Laughing about a food allergy that I need an epi pen for is unacceptable. And I was appalled by them throwing my salsa into my bag because she was so annoyed that I double checked about the modifications so I dont go into anaphylactic shock. Very simple modifications.

I ordered a veggie burrito and it was overloaded with onions and cilantro. I'm talking about a cup of onions and cilantro in one tiny burrito. I was really hungry and wanted to enjoy a Chile Verde burrito. Once I got to the establishment there was 1 other person in line. My wait wasn't long. The cashier took my order which was some 2 Chile Verde burritos and 3 drinks. I asked what came in the Supreme and in the regular burrito. I decided to go with the regular Chile Verde burritos. I was charged $9.50 for each burrito however I received 2 rice burritos. It was all rice every now and then I would find a piece of meat in my burrito. This doesn't sit well with me. The Chile Verde burrito cost more than a Carne asada burrito it's a specialty item. I feel robbed they them. They played me. They took my money but didn't give me what I paid for. I called right away once I got home to inform them about the amount of rice in my burrito., they didn't want to make it right with me. I offered to return to their business and show them what I received I was told there's nothing they could do for me. What the heck. Quick to take my money but hold back on the meat. Cutting corners like this isn't going to make happy customers. I definitely would not recommend this joint to anyone.

The teenage girl who works the register needs to learn customer service! She tossed my card on the counter after I paid . She also tossed my food on the counter and didn’t announce my order like she did for the two orders before me . When I asked for lemons she threw those too and said “there go”. I watched her hand the customer after me the card in his hand and handed another lady salsa in her hand ! I’ve been at this place a couple of times so idk what was up with her !

Bad service. Rude with no acknowledgement of being there. Food was cold. I ordered a vegetarian burrito. Tortilla was rubby. My girlfriend ordered rolled tacos. That was cold and guacamole sour cream was not good. Tacos cold as well. I will not come here again nor recommend this place.

Honestly its my first time coming here hoping It would be great. Food tastes like it was from yesterday and they don’t have fresh drinks. Either fountain drink or “Fresh Drink” powdered. You can taste the powder in your mouth and had way too much sugar. Im not here to get diabetes I’m here to get my self a good meal with a fresh drink I was recommended to. Hot sauce would taste better when they are freshly make.

I do not like saying anything negative about this restaurant as they've always been great. The food has always been great. Last evening, around 5 o'clock, I was given tacos with old meat. It was dried up and hard. Clearly old. The salsa was old. They are clearly having financial issues. This food should have been in the garbage. I served 5 carnitas tacos to old people who have false teeth and who normally could eat this. Twenty years of going to Maria's. This is sad. I hope the elders don't get sick from the parts they put in their mouth. This was my favorite Mexican restaurant, too.

First the service sucks they cook ur food fast but they are rude and not helpful at all the atmosphere is out of date and empty and the food is terrible. I got an asada burrito and The meat they were calling asada was probably 3 days old and dripping grease it seemed like hamburger not steak and had no flavor except grease. The burrito was falling apart from not being rolled right or too much stuff or both and the grease which made the tortilla soggy and the sour cream u can tell hadn't been stirred or anything it was kinda chunky almost. I took 2 bites and threw it away the amount of grease in 2 bites hurt my stomach. I would not recommend this place at all for anything they don't seem to care about what they r serving or the ppl they r serving. To top it off it was kinda pricey especially since it was so terrible. It was like $35 bucks for 2 burritos and some "rolled tacos" (taqutios) and 1 of the burritos was a beans rice and cheese burrito so ya cost was way to much.

Found a piece of metal wire in the Asada fries, haven't even got to eat half and saw it sticking out by the middle of the plate. Good thing it saw it before it got put in my mouth. Smh.

Worst Mexican food I’ve ever had. Ordered 4 asada tacos. No flavor at all. Not even salt on the meat. Other coworkers ordered different things and it was all complete trash. Cashier was rude and no sense of customer service.

Bad service and bad food,the cook clears his throat while cooking and spits hopefully in a trashcan. The food tasted bad not very fresh and they hardly give you any cheese it's just not worth the price. I was trying to eat in there the other day and the cashier started sweeping.. it's just a bad business yet the one on atwater is amazing lol
