Visit the newly reopened Fury’s Restaurant in Metairie under new ownership for a fresh take on traditional New Orleans seafood and Italian cuisine. The seafood entrees offer great value with large portions often topped with fresh crab or crawfish in mouth-watering sauces. My favorite was Trout Orleans with a succulent crawfish etouffee topping. The crawfish bread was outstanding and made a wonderful appetizer. Our Bourbon Old Fashions were perfectly made and there was a good selection of French, Italian and American wines at reasonable prices. You will want to visit this restaurant often for its great food and good value!
I had a great experience at Fury's! I came for the happy hour and it was AWESOME. They have some of the most amazing food I've literally ever had in New Orleans. The bar is small, but it's really nice. They don't have draft beer but they do have a wide variety of liquor and cocktails and wine. They also have a cool Mocktail menu! I definitely recommend trying one of the mocktails. They're not too sugary and they're really well done. They also have free Wi-Fi, which I much appreciate.
I have been searching for a local restaurant with the best Chicken Parmesan and finally found it! The chicken, the sauce, the pasta were all incredibly fresh and delicious. The service was wonderful and all of the staff members were extremely friendly and welcoming. It’s a low key restaurant that I feel like I can visit on the regular and I can’t wait to go back!
Wonderful wine selection, delicious food, and great atmosphere! My fiancé had the shrimp salad and I had the stuffed trout filet (sautéed in olive oil, no salt, with a crab cake on top). Our friend had the spaghetti and meatballs. The portions are generous and the amount of crab and shrimp is impressive. We all loved our food. We shared a bottle of Joel Gott Sauvignon Blanc and ate at the bar. The restaurant has had a lot of renovations and it looks great! The bar is still being worked on and I can’t wait to see how it turns out. Looking forward to more dinners at Fury’s!
We always enjoy dining at Fury’s. They are family friendly and our little one looks forward to seeing the staff. The food is always delicious. From a wonderful kids meal, healthier options, and indulgent treats. The homemade salads dressings are delicious. The kids burger is a favorite. The trout broiled or fried is phenomenal. Finally, the new crawfish bread addition is a huge hit! I crave it! We always look forward to our dinners here!
I’ll start off by saying the new management is on point. Wow! Great food. I had a cup of gumbo and the Trout Carrie. So much jumbo crab on top the trout. OMG, so good! The trout also came with a salad and a side. I had the potato salad, not picture. All were good. We also had some crawfish bread…..full of tails! Our server Nicky was on point. They also have daily specials like red beans and rice on Mondays.
Ok I stopped in on the way to the airport and had the fried oysters and they blew my mind. I've never had fried seafood this good. The tartar sauce was also ridiculously delicious. I am definitely coming back on the way back to the airport! The cocktails and wine were really good too. The bartender was really sweet and came over and made us a special drink.
I recently dined at Fury's Restaurant and had a wonderful experience. This charming establishment offers a variety of delicious dishes that cater to various tastes. The crawfish bread was a standout, and it's a fantastic alternative for those missing the Jazz Fest version. The kid's hamburger plate, accompanied by French fries, was a hit, and they even provide individual hamburger patties for low carb/keto dieters. The broiled speckled trout was cooked to perfection, and I highly recommend trying it. The homemade blue cheese dressing on the salad was exceptional, easily the best I've ever tasted. Fury's Restaurant also excels in Italian cuisine and fried seafood. Both options were excellent, but the true highlights of the menu are the crabmeat au gratin and the Trout Carrie. The generous fillet of speckled trout smothered in jumbo lump crab meat and butter sauce is an absolute delight. Overall, Fury's Restaurant is a must-visit. From the delightful crawfish bread to the mouthwatering seafood dishes and exceptional homemade blue cheese dressing, this restaurant offers a memorable dining experience that will leave you craving more. Note: This review reflects my personal experience at Fury's Restaurant and showcases the highlights of the menu in a concise manner.
The food was delicious, the service/staff was impeccable and made me feel welcomed, a bit busy tonight but our waitress Nikki stayed on top of everything. And Not to mention since the updates, the restaurant has a very nice ambience. This is one of my top favorite places to get chicken Parmesan and looking forward to going back!!
Stopped in this little restaurant last night last minute and I’m telling you I’m so glad we did. Crawfish bread, gumbo, stuffed bell pepper with shrimp and the stuffed flounder was out of this world came with your choice of side and the potato salad sooo good ! And oh the meatballs!!!!🤗. I could go on and on. The food was absolutely delicious. Service was incredible, I had to take a picture of the chefs and the staff So I could put it in my review. We will definitely be back.
Lovely ambiance at Fury's and the staff is first class. Shout outs to Jessica, Sam, and Marvin!! We ate veal metairie with shrimp, crabmeat, and pasta, and hamburger steak with mashed potatoes and gravy. The food was amazing and generous servings allowed for take home! Gotta try it!
It really has sort of a neighborhood restaurant type atmosphere. It was like eating home cooked food. I had. The breaded pork chop and it was spectacular. I will definitely come back here. No pop in circumstance. Just really friendly atmosphere
I enjoyed our meal immensely. The new owners have invested significantly in new renovations and improving the customers' experience. Yet they kept the friendly staff and familiar dishes. We look forward to coming back.
My favorite dish is the sautéed trout but I am also obsessed with the crab salad. The crab tastes fresh and the salad dressings are made in-house. My son loves the classic seafood gumbo, beans, and sautéed chicken. And most of the rest of my family favors the fried fish and pork. I absolutely love the new renovations. The food has always been great, but the thorough renovation just makes the atmosphere much nicer and much more upscale. It still has a good, family friendly atmosphere.
Love this little down home New Orleans restaurant. We always love our food and the kids look forward to it every time. The new owners are making some great updates while keeping the soul of the place intact. I also love the update on the decor.
Food was fantastic, the hostess Jessica is the greatest.
Very good food and friendly service. Onion rings cut fresh and perfectly fried not greasy. Seafood plate fresh fried shrimp, oysters and fish. The fish was hot tender and not at all greasy. The meat ball sandwich is very good also. My wife and I split the seafood plate and a meatball sandwich. Really good food.
My only regret is I can't give this place 6 stars. The food was so, so good. If you want authentic Italian at an unbelievable reasonable price, you simply can't go wrong with this place.
We came in tonight to check the restaurant out. I heard they started doing a little renovations, and have new owners. It looks like they are pushing all the right buttons. The inside looks great. From the white table cloths to the walls (still working on renovating the bar). We started with the eggplant chips. They were thick and very tasty with the red sauce that it comes with. For entrees, we had the stuffed shrimp and the crawfish pasta. I recommend both. They were both seasoned very well. There was no need to add more salt or pepper. The portions were big enough for both of us to have them for lunch tomorrow. The menu has a lot of variety. If you are craving fried seafood, broiled or sauteed...traditional italian dishes like spaghetti and meatballs or veal parmesan, they have it all. I was too full to eat dessert. Next time, i might have the same dishes, or switch up and try the crawfish bread or frog legs....and definitely bread pudding. If you are looking for lunch or dinner, dont miss this hidden gem. The staff is amazing.
We love the new look and still enjoy the same go-to staples from the Fury family recipes! If you haven't been in a while, you'll enjoy the new chairs, brighter lights, and table cloths. It's the same great food (plus some new additions) and same wonderful staff that make it like home! Thanks for bringing back the melba toast too!
Excellent food. Oysters and Flounder and Crab are my favorites. Owner Paul is a righteous dude.
We have not been there in quite sometime and it was better than I remembered. The red gravy was very good, classic Sicilian.
This was my first time to eat at Fury's. This is the wonderful original Italian food. I had veal parmesan. It was absolutely delicious. Also, there were 2 delicious side dishes. I will definitely be eating there again. Everyone in the restaurant was talking about how delicious the food is. This is the food you would think you would have to go to Italy to experience. My highest praises & recommendation.
Food arrived hot and delicious. Eggplant parmesan was outstanding. Red Gravy was savory, not sweet like some restaurants. Seafood platter was one of the best I've had. Perfectly fried and a very generous portion. Oysters were plump and tasty.
Love the gumbo and half shrimp poor boy. Our waiter Byron always takes great care of us and knows our order by heart.
My family and I have been going to Fury’s now for over 30 years. My mother always loved Eating there and we made that her outing for the week. My mother is no longer with us.She loved visiting with Byron when he was a teenager and we have loved him as our waiter ever since . He is always very thoughtful always kind and he is a real treasure. Food is very fresh and we come at least once a week.
The food was extraordinary but my main takeaway was the respectful and kind server we had. She was on top of her game and would get us refills on our drinks at the perfect times. She was overall kind and if you go here which I recommend get the server named Nikki she is amazing at her job.👍
Byron was the man of the hour. Awesome waiter and great service and loved his personality. Made our dining experience perfect. All 12 of us were impressed. Five stars for Byron
Delicious food, cozy ambience, and a fantastic menu, Fury’s is a true classic of Metairie. The onion rings were fried to perfection, the crawfish garlic bread is a must try, and the eggplant Parmesan and Crawfish etouffee were top notch. Great food at a reasonable price with quick and friendly service. Also, my grandparents lived their whole life in Metairie and this was one of their favorite spots, so you know they are doing something right :)
Oh my gosh!!!!! I could just not stop raving about this place the food the atmosphere 10 out of 10 one of the best restaurants in the Metairie area not just the food, but the service was a 10 out of 10. If you go there and you get Nikki, you will be blessed when I tell you I never had a server treat me the way she has. It was breathtaking. She treats you like family.
Long time customer here and I must say I love the atmosphere improvements. I always order chicken parm and it never disappoints!!! The beignets with a cannoli twist is fabulous and unique. I always get Jessica as my waitress she is the best.
So this is a “hole in the wall” place. Don’t let that fool you. They HAVE to be good to survive. There is not a lot of traffic near there. You will not be disappointed. I had the angel hair pasta and crawfish. Mmmm Oh, and the prices are very reasonable.
Family type atmosphere that’s cozy. Food was top-notch. The onion rings, softshell, crab and cannoli beignets were all top notch Whoever is working the fryer back there is a beast. Crisp perfection
I had a wonderful experience at Fury’s, my waitress Nikki was one of the best I’ve ever had! She was an absolute godsend, made my day so much better. She brightened up my day so much. I will go back again, hope I get Nikki.
Our SJA group from 1960 had a fabulous lunch today at Fury’s. Our waiter, Burger, was the very best. Everyone enjoyed their lunch. We will day go again. Betty Jane Rudiger
I’ve been eating here a lot lately. The food is great. I actually walked in behind a fellow who was delivering fresh soft shell crabs and lump crabmeat. Sooo fresh and delicious. If you haven’t eaten here, you’re missing a great place.
Crab-stuffed shrimp was AMAZINGGGGGG!!! We already plan to come back to try the Trout Carrie! The Eggplant chips was a great choice for starters. Crawfish pasta dish was perfect. Great, friendly service even when super busy. Got seated quickly and taken care of fast. The service and hospitality was A+. Highly recommend!!
Have been a customer of Fury's for many, many years. Being of Italian descent and liking good food, my family frequents Fury's often. Had a slight hiccup in my order. Which was the first time this happened. After calling Fury's my order was fixed but most of all I was treated like family. Thanks Jakie Gary
I ordered the oyster platter. The oysters and the sweet potato fries were large, pleasantly crispy, and delicious. The staff was friendly and easy going. The dining area and restrooms were fresh and clean. I’d definitely recommend Fury’s to my friends and family.
Tucked away across from a large shopping center - unassuming and easy to miss. Don't make that mistake! The menu has all the options you will want for seafood, local cuisine, and Italian. Clean, quaint, relaxing... did I mention the little 6 stool bar. The staff is amazing (I'll leave names out). They will deliver delicious food, great atmosphere, and great staff.
chicken tender plate w/fries were fried to perfection and was delish. will visit again.
We had lunch at Fury's on Friday between Christmas and New Year's. The meal was outstanding. We had broiled oysters, veal steak, and eggplant medallions. Delicious!! Our server was Jessica and she is extremely friendly and helpful. I loved talking with her. So, needless to say, the service was excellent.
IT WAS DELICIOUS and Burga took care of us throughout and it was amazing 👏 def telling everyone to come through!!! Everything was fire 🔥 Very few places you can go where everything is made right !
I recently dined at Fury’s Restaurant in Metairie and had a pleasant experience. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a comfortable place to enjoy a meal. The menu offered a nice variety of dishes that was catered to different tastes, which was impressive. One highlight of the visit was the exceptional service provided by our server, Nikki. She was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and made sure that our dining experience was enjoyable. Her friendly demeanor and prompt service truly stood out and added a positive touch to our visit. The food was delicious as promised. Overall, Fury’s Restaurant provided a satisfying dining experience, with Nikki's outstanding service being a memorable aspect of the evening. I look forward to dining in again soon.
Most delicious taste experience. Loved their frog legs. Then loved their oysters. Or maybe just loved Fury's.
The food is always good for a good price. I particularly like the large quantity of food as I get to take leftovers home.
Service was great, food was delicious and the restaurant was clean! I used to go here as a little girl with my grandparents. Love old school places like this.
I went there for the first time, and and we ordered soft shell crabs which were delicious. We also had fried eggplant as an appetizer which I enjoyed. The service was the best, and we were well taken care of. I also ordered a Long Island iced tea which was delicious. The restaurant is small but cozy. I didn't walk to the back, but from the pictures I took it looks like they had a bar in the rear of the restaurant. I definitely recommend this restaurant if you're looking for great food.
Forgot about this place until I saw it on HTM's RB&R recently. I made a mental note for next night out with a friend. When it was time, I made a reservation and I SO DONT regret it! Both of us had a fish entree. I had trout, she had redfish. Exactly what I wanted, even down to the creamed spinach. The wine selection was on the short side, though only offering quality. A sign of a well ran restaurant. My fish was marked "MP" and I was very surprised at the price when we paid the check. Definitely less than I expected. 100% will go back in the near future.
I have been eating here for years and have had just about everything on the menu. We eat here at least once a week and the food is great, large servings and priced right! The service too is great. Byron always takes really good care of us. Wonderful specials every day! Best liver and onions in the metropolitan area! Try it!
Food was great and the atmosphere was ideal, but the service from my waitress was the reason I’m leaving this review. Nilkki served me and my friends as if we were family. She was attentive, engaging, prompt and we didn’t need to ask for a single thing the entire time we were eating. She was exceptional from the moment we sat down until the moment we left the restaurant. Highly recommend and if you go, ask for Nikki!!
I had the chicken parmesan strips with fries, and let me tell you… they were delicious! The chicken was crispy, tender, and full of flavor, and the parmesan topping took it to the next level. The fries were hot and fresh too. Everything was cooked perfectly and hit the spot. Definitely coming back for this again. Highly recommend if you love good comfort food done right!
I came to Fury’s Restaurant Monday night to celebrate my Aunt’s 90th birthday, we had a group of 7 we sat in the back of Restaurant we was all so impressed with our server Jessica. The hospitality she gave us was beyond wonderful, she had our whole table laughing all night. Jessica definitely made my Aunt feel special my Aunt could not stop thanking her. The food was delicious. When we was all done Jessica came and surprised my Aunt with a warm homemade Bread Pudding with a candle in it. The food and service was wonderful and also such a cozy Atmosphere we will definitely be back. Thank you again Ms Jessica.
The food was fresh and delicious. I loved everything especially the crawfish etouffe! EVERYTHING was on point and Burga took care of us and was so sweet!
Great place to eat the staff, food and prices are excellent. This little restaurant has become are go to, when we go out.
This place was great. I have read some of the reviews and at first I did feel some kinda way but the waiter made it so much fun. The food was hot and delicious. I had the cat fish with crawfish sauce and the crawfish bread everything was wonderful. I will be going back soon.
Fury's is a small neighborhood restaurant. I had fried seafood and it was very good, hot and fresh. The restaurant was clean overall, but it is dark and old-looking inside, and the floor needed to be swept. The server was friendly. Good experience overall.
Ordered 3 cheese omelette and tastes very great. My dad ordered baked flounder. The flounder was salty but the taste of it is great. Their grits is amazing.
Fury's is family owned and operated. It's a small neighborhood restaurant with a menu that's made to order. Someone suggested it since I'm new to the area and it was close to her. My first time dining at Fury's. The food was fresh. The gumbo could use some spice. It was rather bland! My shrimp po-boy was tasty. They were out of Italian sausage so I ordered a shrimp po-boy dressed with butter. A different preparation that I've eaten, but I enjoyed it! There were only two waiters so service was slow and inattentive. They rarely refreshed glasses of tea or came to the table to ask if we needed anything. They had to be flagged down. I felt ignored. A tip was left anyway. The service was disappointing, but the food didn't disappoint! Even though the service was slacking I'll return for another visit.
I had the shrimp plate. The shrimp was good. The fries for a side were pretty salty. Overall the service was fine and I would definitely try again.
the food critic for the local paper in New Orleans had recommended a couple of restaurants tbd other day and one looked really good so we decided to check it out. The restaurant is located in Metairie near the Orleans Parish line. The restaurant does accept reservations but generally it’s not needed. the restaurant is somewhat small and casual which was nice but also made it somewhat awkward if you sat in the walkway. we started off with the onion rings and then ordered the eggplant parmesan, the stuffed bell pepper with pasta, trout with seafood on top, and finally shrimp and pasta. the portions were a good size but it lacked flavor. the cheese on the eggplant parmesan tasted prepackaged and there was a lack of flavor for the sauce. we have been to other italian restaurants which have a better flavor and better sauce. the fish with seafood and sauce was decent as was the stuffed bell pepper, but the accompanying pasta had minimal flavor and the shrimp and pasta also had minimal flavor. overall a disappointing experience. decent portions but minimal taste of the food. the service was also not good and it was expensive so overall not worth it in my opinion
We had reservations for 7:00 and got there a few minutes early. We were seated right away and the waitress said she'd be right back. She did not return, but the waiter who did eventually come to our table was very nice and outgoing. He very quickly got sometime to come replace the table cloth on the table that was stained from the previous guests and apologized for it. Our drinks were served quickly and we all agreed that the lemon drop was the best of the 3. The Long Island Ice Tea was the last favorite. The garlic bread and onion ring appetizers were both good. The 3 plates that we ordered all tasted good, but the temperature was more room temp than hot, which is why I put 3 stars instead of 4. Overall we had a nice visit but a few things could have been better.
I ordered through Ubereats, everything minus the bread was slightly over salted. It drowned out the flavor underneath. I’ve never heard anyone have an issue with there food, but this is my first experience and although it was properly prepared and packaged with extra care, I am disappointed. I will try again because of the reputation of the restaurant.
The red gravy was tasteless. The meatballs were less than satisfactory. The eggplant park was tasty, but the red gravy was underwhelming. Service was quite good. How the one server handles their tables was well done.
The first server was lackadaisical and seemed irritated by questions, may have been overwhelmed or distracted by something else, second server took over and was friendly and did a good job. Frankly, the food wasn't worth the price. The hamburger steak wasn't as good as I could make myself, the mashed potatoes were fine, the gravy was good although I wouldn't have been surprised if it turned out to be prepackaged mix. The broccoli with cheese side vegetable tasted good but was mostly inedible because most of the broccoli was too tough to stick a fork in. The best thing that came to the table was an order of onion rings that were tasty and crispy. Nothing was horrible but you just expect a bit more effort for the price.
Was my dad’s favorite place for lunch when he was alive. I decided to take my son who had picked me up from car service at a dealer. Not at all what I remembered. Had broiled trout that was overcooked so it absorbed too much butter. Son had fried chicken. That boy can eat him some fried chicken but he left it just nibbled on. I’d say pass it you’re wondering. I hate chains but feels like Copelands
We've been here before and always had a good experience. Last night it took 45 min to get a drink and over a hour for food to the table. We tried multiple times to order additional drinks but they never came. Neither server seemed concerned about the terrible service .
The wait staff thinks people are non-existent and shouldn’t be treated to nice hospitality. Maybe it’s because we looked young and they thought we weren’t going to tip but me and my child should not have went our whole entire meal without a drink. I thought maybe refills on drinks weren’t free and that’s why we didn’t get any but nope, I asked and the waitress said “you can have refills” and still DIDNT offer a refill. I would have tipped more than $20 had my family been treated like equals with all the others in the restaurant. But out of a bill of $105, you still got 20%. Edit to add to your reply: They were stacked because we were done with our meal and she never came back to the table. I was hoping that If they happened to look over our way and acknowledge the cups were stacked, they would get the idea that I wanted another sprite and my daughter a water with lemon. I didn’t have a drink my entire meal because not once did the server come and check on us. Ask if the food was good or anything at all. We got our food and that was it. Nothing in between at all. I’m glad that server was good with other people through out the day, but they were not with us. Maybe they were tired as it was the end of the day. But for them to come to my table 30 minutes after we received the food to give me the check only, is unacceptable. Be more attentive to your guest.
Not impressed, after hearing others talk about how much they like the restaurant my wife and I tried it out. The shrimp paste had very little flavor and not much sauce on the pasta. At one point the kitchen garbage was ripped out through the dinning area for all to smell. Once emptied the can was carried back through the dinning area on the back of the server, not very sanitary. The service was attentive and they were very nice.
Very mediocre food at high prices. Nice, newly renovated interior; unfortunately the food isn't on the same level. Waiter repeatedly got our orders wrong or incomplete. At the end of our meal he let us sit for half an hour with a table of dirty dishes. Regardless of how many attempts we made to get his attention (to get our check) he would not make eye contact. Twice before one of us had to get up and go ask him for things we had previously requested. I can think of a dozen other locally-owned traditional New Orleans Italian/Creole places that are far better at much more reasonable prices. I find all these glowing reviews highly suspect.
The whole Soft shell crab on my husband’s seafood plater was the size of the fork. Sent back the ice tea because it had a weird taste to it. I got a coke in a bottle with a glass of ice. It was the ice that had the bad taste, apparently their ice machine needs to be cleaned or replaced. Did not get ketchup or Parmesan cheese until we were almost finished eating. Very disappointed in this restaurant considering the reviews it had.
Actually zero stars. No idea how they have a high rating. I had the absolute worst spaghetti and meatballs. The pasta sauce was watery, the meatballs smelled and I spat out the first bite. They only have angel hair pasta, not the regular spaghetti. I paid for the meal even though I only had two bites and left. To top it all off, their bathroom is disgusting. I’m really upset with this place.
Terrible terrible. The roumalade sauce taste like a dressing-- a mix between French and Thousand Island. The meatballs were very very soft. You could tell there was a lot of bread used as a filler. The broiled chicken was horrible. All of the juices had been cooked out of it. The thigh meat was basically nonexistent. The breast meat was very dry. Apparently, the cook did not know that one does not put raw chicken under the broiler. It needs to be parboiled first to accomplish a cooked chicken inside and a crispy outside that the broiler accomplishes. The iced tea cost $3.25!! Who charges that amount of money for something that cost perhaps 10 cents or less? Shame shame on Fury's! I felt that I had been robbed. The only good food item were the onion rings. The waiter was very friendly and good at his job. Those two things were the ONLY positive aspect of this restaurant. I will never return there and neither will my friend. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED especially considering the pricing of the menu items. Highway robbery for awful food.
Order the seafood platter. The oysters were the size of quarters. Everything was very small and skimpy and they don’t even send cocktail or tartar sauce with your order. You have to pay extra for that apparently.
We have been longtime customers of Fury’s. Our experience there today was less than satisfactory and honestly embarrassing to the new owners. We waited 40 minutes and did not even get our drinks delivered to our table or our food order taken. No fault to our waitress - she had a large party and other tables through the restaurant. The owner did not care that our waitress was overloaded, passed our table a handful of times over the 40 minutes we were there and did not check to see that we were okay. Our silverware was dirty, and we had to request new silverware twice, which was also dirty. The owner was behind the bar talking with his girlfriend - maybe that’s why our drinks never got made! We approached him about the situation and he did nothing to rectify. As long-time customers of Fury’s we can say the service was much better under the previous owner. Sad to say we will not return here after 28 years of our family eating at this restaurant. Would give 0 stars if I could!
We got the fried seafood platter to go this evening. The oysters were very small and gooey. The soft shell crab was tiny and missing parts. We used to think Fury’s seafood was good. We were disappointed with the whole platter, and it was not worth the price. We won’t be back.
