Do yourself a favor and go to OSA. Rich Garcia and team have absolutely nailed it. One of the best meals my wife and I have had in a very long time or ever for that matter. I don't know how they do it but each item we ordered off the menu was fantastic. To the point that you didn't think the next thing coming out could possibly be as good as the last... but it was. I can't say how impressed we were.
Go to date night spot. Service is always great, the food is wonderful, fresh, and always always delicious. Cocktails and drinks are fantastic. Perfect night out every time for some tired parents that love having this special place to go to. It always feels casual, but ok to dress up a bit. Great vibe.
LOVE this gem in Middletown! Such an adorable ambiance and look inside. They had a great food and drink menu. Everything we had was very good (pear salad, various dips, breads, oysters, wines). Definitely will come back here, as I want to try more things!
Love, love, love. Great atmosphere and amazing food. Highly recommend pretty much everything on the menu. We eat there often and love it for family celebrations.
Osa is a world class restaurant that happens to reside in Middletown, CT. The food is excellent and constantly updated by the season. BEN is the best. We’ve been coming here for several years and he makes us feel at home here, take care of us and goes above and beyond every time. And the atmosphere, somehow every time we’re at OSA, conversations flow better, jokes are funnier, the restaurant just brings out the best in people. Raving review, but it is a special place.
I have eaten at OSA many times and always LOVE the experience there. When we ate there this past weekend, it prompted me to take a moment to finally write them a well-deserved 5 star review. On this night, I was on the fence about ordering the corn ribs to start and asked our server Vanessa about them. Though they sounded tasty, my husband and I decided not to get them. Vanessa was so kind and actually brought us some anyway so that we could see exactly what she was talking about. They were SO GOOD! Not only was this gesture beyond sweet, she continued to provide us exceptional service throughout the night- checking in just enough but also giving us space to enjoy our first date-night out in a while. The food, drinks, and service are always a win at OSA.
The level of detail this place puts into each dish is notable. The chefs go the extra mile in terms of flavor, and I like how it’s a smaller place, ideally leaving the kitchen to more time and care for each dish. A little expensive, but seemingly worth every penny. A great place to celebrate a special occasion, but pricey enough to keep to a once in a while treat. Amazing overall, couldn’t recommend enough.
Need more stars for this delightful establishment. An amazing evening from the time I sat down. Perfect manhattan, the small plates are outstanding, particularly the summer galette, birria gnocchi and fig and peach salad. Dessert is not to be missed- we shared the chomeur and the peach brandy cake. Can’t wait to go back.
I can’t rave about OSA in Middletown enough! During my time living there with my fiancé, we were here every week—sometimes twice a week. The food is absolutely incredible, and the staff truly made us feel like family every time we walked in. It’s one of those rare places where everything—from the flavors to the atmosphere—keeps you coming back again and again. A must-visit!
OSA was fantastic. Super cool vibe, very reasonably priced for the quality and great staff. I sat at the bar and had the bread, octopus, pasta and dessert. Everything was gorgeous, well balanced and nicely proportioned. Jay was my bartender and server at the bar and HE WAS AMAZING. I was in the mood for a fun drink and he invented one for me. Great spot - it will be my first choice if I’m ever back in Middletown.
My favorite restaurant. They always switch up the menu to keep things fresh. All the staff are amazing and remember us every time we come (means alot). Great scotch/bourbon selection. From the fresh sour dough bread, to the octopus, to the hand rolled pastas, and amazing entrees. Everything is always on point. Pudding Chomeur a la mode is the best way to end the night. Their chocolate chip cookies are bomb as well. Please open on Sundays!!!!!!
Burger and Beer Wednesdays are a great deal! This is definitely one of the better restaurants CT has to offer! If ur sick and tired of mediocre food, OSA has what you need. Great pasta dishes, sour dough bread, chocolate chip cookies, and lots more! You can tell everything is fresh and cooked to order. Great job to everyone who works at OSA, keep up it up !
The atmosphere is wonderful and the food is even better! This has been our 3rd time at OSA and we’ve never been disappointed. This time we got the steak, a burger, potato + garlic soup, goat cheese ravioli, and Osa spaghetti. We finished the evening with chocolate mousse and pannacotta for dessert. Everything was to die for! 🤤 I wish I’d taken pictures of the food instead of just dessert, but everything looked so good, we had to dive right in!
Coming from someone whose worked in the industry for 16 years, For starters, our bartender, Bren, made phenomenal cocktails and provided excellent service. Secondly, the pickled mushrooms are a perfect started with the homemade sour dough bread. Third, the duck breast entree brought tears to my eyes after the first bite. Absolutely perfectly cooked. Flavors out of this world. 10/10 would recommend. 10/10 will be back ASAP!
I’m so happy Middletown gives these new restaurants opportunities. This place is definitely worth going. The food was amazing. The OSA burger was so delicious and the cookies was simply delicious. Your in town please come try this spot out. Definitely a nice refreshing change in Middletown
I don't give out many 5 star reviews - but OSA deserves this one! Excellent food, good wine list, and terrific service. The combination of flavors in the dishes is exceptional. The decor sets the tone for what will be a fantastic dining experience. This restaurant would be a top place in any city in the world!
Osa, Middletown, Connecticut Interesting décor. Not quite sure what to make of the integrated bench style seating but as each course came out I warmed up to it… First out, the bread… Served with whipped lardo & cultured butter. It’s offered as either or but my position is, when in doubt, get both… nice crispy bread reminiscent of that wonderful bread you get on Arthur Avenue. Both the lardo and butter were delicious. Had to pick a favorite. The menu is very much ala carte so here are tonight’s selections… Smoked carrots (gf/by) with black crème fraiche, puffed grains, carrot pickle + herbs… I’m not sure how healthy this was because healthy food is not supposed to taste THIS good! With it’s contrasting textures and flavours , my palate was in foodie Nirvana. Crispy beef shank, beef shank croquettes, horseradish mayo, bordelaise syrup, picked onion + arethusa blue cheese… Another wonderful surprise… Generally speaking I don’t consume onions unless they’re sautéed but these pickled onions were so good I had them all. At Pete, my servers suggestion, my next course would be the baked semolina gnocchi with spicy sausage ragout, melville fonduta, fried garlic, herbs + calabrian chili. Great recommendation! Unlike the traditional gnocchi, this was two gnocchi cakes served in an iron skillet. And like the carrots before, a blend of textures and flavours Across the room I saw a French Press which is usually an indication that there is no cappuccino here… My suspicions were correct. That would be my only complaint. I suppose there are bigger problems in life. My suggestion…, get a cappuccino machine… Its how I finish every meal… This has been a fabulous dining experience and one I would highly recommend! When you come here, tell them you heard about them on The White Tablecloth…
Hip and trendy atmosphere, easy to get a table on a Friday evening. Food was creative, well-presented, fairly good but not mind-blowing. Prices are on the higher side and we left slightly hungry despite the near $100 bill for 2 people. Overall, a decent experience.
Very quaint interior but a little loud. The steak frites were fantastic. Well flavored, perfectly cooked, the sauce was delicious. Only downside is it took us an hour from the time we were seated to get our food. It took awhile for the waiter to come to us so we ordered our food right away. He did not check on us again and after a long wait we had to flag him down to ask where our food was. I understand if they were busy, but there was no acknowledgement that the kitchen was busy or backed up, no apology for the long wait.
A fantastic experience from start to end. It was super easy to get a reservation on a Friday night and when we got there our server was incredibly knowledgeable and helped us pick the perfect dishes. Starting with the corn ribs and the octopus are a strong recommendation from me. I ordered the chicken Milliese and my friend got a burger. Both were perfect. The side salad helped with the chickens heaviness. But ending the night with the caramel bread pudding is the best and really only choice. The atmosphere makes you feel like you aren't in Middletown, CT it's chic and fun and also very easy to have a conversation at. One of the top spots I have been to in Connecticut
Osa is a gem located in Middletown Connecticut. With its stunning interior and friendly weight staff, this is definitely a place to check out. We've been two times now and the service and food quality are consistent. The first time we went I had a fish dish and I didn't care for it. It was a little too smoky and fishy for me. But it looks lovely. What I remember from our first visit was the burger that my husband had so when we recently revisited I knew that was the thing to get. And I have no regrets. Everything was delicious Including the cocktails. While there are so many places to visit in Middletown and we have lots to explore, we definitely recommend making Osa a priority.
Beautiful location, vibe and great staff, but as of the last few months their cuisine seems to have simplified and suffered a little. Still a nice night-out destination and eatery, but the transition is as though they went from gastronomic delight to high end Italian-American food. 🤷♂️ At least Cafémantic is still here to fill the gap.
Waited so long to try OSA culinary and ended up with short rib not available on Valentines menu even it was supposed to be on menu anyway sold out -but host didn’t give a damn after mentioning why it’s not on the menu -his response we don’t sell short ribs -a what ? It was posted on valentines menu when I booked reservation Instead of short ribs and culinary purées I got Hanger steak with regular McDonald style French fries -steak was ordered medium chewy as hell I would expect fries at least hand cut homemade Parmesan style something fancier for valentines I bet you could do it if you guys wanted too - Very disappointed with steak and fries -everything else was ok -never mind deleting my negative comments on social media like instagram or facebook pages -no wonder you guys have only positive reviews there -host didn’t care about my complains at all -sorry Josh -teach your server to serve better - simple fries sucks with chewy steak sorry
We used to love this place, but the service has declined recently. Our server brought our main dishes at the same time as the appetizers. Also, people were standing right next to our table chatting with the next table, which was pretty annoying. To be honest, it completely ruined our celebration night. We had been regular patrons, coming here both personally and for business, but we don’t think we can come back again.
