Da Martino è Milano, non ci sono altri modi per definirlo. Da fuori sembra un alimentari, anche poco fornito, ma entrati si trasforma tutto. La trattoria è divisa in 2 sale e ci saranno al massimo 25 posti (per cui obbligatoria la prenotazione sempre). L'ambiente è intimo e il menù spazia dai grandi classici della cucina milanese, a rivisitazioni più di nicchia (ma sempre con la tradizione in mente). La cotoletta è l'asso nella manica e non posso che confermare quanto scritto da altri: F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C-A. Il prezzo è più economico rispetto ad altri locali: Cotoletta 15 € + Dolce 6 € + Acqua 1,50 € + caffè 1,00 € + limoncello 3 € + calice di vino 4,50 €. Spero di tornarci! Parto col dire subito che il proprietario è forse la persona più simpatica che incontrerete a Milano. Ti metterà subito a tuo agio facendoti accomodare nella "sala degli arazzi". Non vi aspettate un locale di design, qui si mangia e basta, senza troppi fronzoli e sì, se ordinerete la cotoletta con l'osso lo dovrete spolpare con le mani o il proprietario vi guarderà malissimo! Da provare assolutamente se siete a Milano e non dimenticate la torta di mele con mousse di mascarpone.

La migliore cotoletta alla milanese della città! Ottimi prodotti, oltre la carne, ambiente raccolto e familiare. Consiglio la prenotazione.

First of all, they are currently closed and moving to a new location nearby, so keep and eye out to find them. This restaurant is a family run real Italian restaurant which follows traditions, but still manages to serve something new at the same time. The service was really nice, but keep in mind that you need a reservation. We had a few different antipasti: fiori di zucca, stuffed onion and Alici. Everything was fresh and delicious. Then we tried the grano duro, some "hard wheat' which was cooked in risotto style. The tomato sauce and cheese and eggplant were so delicious! For mains we tried the famous orecchia di elefante, the tagliata and the lamb terrine. Everything was really good but omg the tagliata was the best I ever had. Super tender delicious meat with good veggies and pure. I will definitely go back

Finally some restaurant that not following trends and social media. Im not Italian or Italian foos expert but i can easily tell that this restaurant is authentic Italian restaurant.Weird thing that make me feel so homey and comfortable. It is only 3 man operation, husband&wife and one more person that im not really sure about are they related. Since we enteres the restaurant we got warned vy the owners that they don’t have pizza. It was completely fine for us because first we spent a lot of time (some people get that offensive but it’s not you would understand ) in Italy and we were there not there for pizza. Their Pasta Genovese and cotoletta. Pasta was tick and bold. Saucy but not creamy. Beautiful onions and beef thats it. Cotoletta one of the best i have ever eat crispy outside and juicy inside. Service a little slow but it’s understandable.

I was wery well at place with my old friend Giuseppe, I take a old stile course, called ORECCHIO DI ELEFANTE, typical cotoletta alla milanese. very good. I suggest book in Advance, place is very tiny and claustrofobic of you think, but Absolute to prove! For this reason for families is complex, but not impossible.. try and enjoy!

It was a very good place. It's a bit small, but the food is giant! The veal cutlet comes on the bone and is amazing. They did a great job with it and I feel like this is a staple here. The spaghetti was homemade and fresh, which was awesome as well. Overall, great experience. We halved each dish we got and we barely finished. Well worth it!

La vera "orecchia d'elefante" a Milano: la trattoria è verace, si trova a pochi passi dalla stazione Garibaldi e ha come piatto forte la cotoletta. Buona, per nulla pesante, guarnita con qualche pomodorino, ce la siamo letteralmente spazzolata. Costo: 22 euro, non poco ma neanche tanto visti i prezzi di Milano. Gli antipasti invece non erano indimenticabili. Il servizio molto cordiale e amichevole. Non mi è piaciuto un piccolo dettaglio: la bottiglia d'acqua è solo da 50 cl, preferisco quella da 75 cl da smezzare in due.

In via Farini a due passi da Paolo Sarpi la chinatown di Milano si trova "da Martino" ristorante in stile vecchia Milano. Un menù che richiama alcuni piatti della tradizione meneghina ben cucinati e dalle porzioni generose. Consiglio i crostini di pane con fegatini e i fiori di zucca ottimi. Anche la cotoletta era molto buona croccante e non unta. Il servizio è cortese e veloce. Il proprietario anche se può sembrare burbero in realtà è piacevole e divertente con poche parole ti strappa sempre un sorriso. Conto nella norma per gli standard milanesi. Peccato per il locale. Da l'idea di essere un po trascurato.

Per la prima volta a pranzo da Martino: cardi fritti con fonduta di zola molto buoni, una trippa (porzione un po scarsa) da far scuola e una cotoletta di notevole gusto. Good for the cotoletta if you are craving a traditional milanese no-frills meal. Prices are average, on the lower side. Only drawback is that it can be difficult to get a table and spaces are right. Non discuto sui prezzi che quelli sono esposti. Ma il rapporto prezzo e qualità del servizio è pressoché imbarazzante. Mai stato in un ristorante dove il servizio era così distratto e pressapochista: abbiamo pagato 85€ a testa per un pranzo dove le cose arrivavano in ordine casuale, all’ingresso ti squadrano e ognuno sembra essere lì per caso. The cutlet with bone was okay especially with the marinated tomatoes on top but don’t expect there to be as many tomatoes as presented on the website menu. Also it was dry, I understand it’s not schnitzel but really without the abundance of pomodori paccheri as presented on website it’s a false advertising and a rip-off. I wish I have tried their fried pumpkin flowers. They did look on par. My son and I were both very impressed with the pasta dish he ordered, maybe we were missing the point of the recipe but this dish was not appetizing in appearance or flavor. Basically like someone’s dumped in a bowl. Not worth a penny and I would never let a dish like be served from my kitchen. Lastly the restaurant sign outside says pizzeria which we didn’t notice until after we left. For lack of what my son was seeking in a primo he would have been highly satisfied with a pizza. My bad not thinking and asking, we should have known because there is also a wood burning oven aflame in the entry but then again we were not given a pizza menu and isn’t it the server’s task to offer that option. The general vibe of the restaurant was artistic, cozy and hip. I can the menu concept but a smile a goes a long way when serving people. Cool eclectic atmosphere doesn’t make up for discriminating & rude service. Nothing to write home about, I won’t be returning and I don’t recommend. They won’t be hurting by this honest review, by 7:45 it was a hopping but the aloofness gave us the vibe that we Americans from Modena were clearly not sophisticated enough to be their customers and the server/owner/wife was not going to gently educate us how to elevate ourselves to their standard. If it weren’t for my dry Milanese cutlet’s abundance I would have had to go find my son another meal afterwards. Disappointing, next time we’ll go back to Da Franco across the road. I’m sure this restaurant won’t miss us. I wish I had read the reviews because so many others said the same about the service. I’m American living in Italy for over twenty years. I’m very fluent, not perfect but I’m very friendly and fluent in Italian but clearly that’s not enough. I’ve never had such rude service anywhere in Italy or Milan for that matter. Sad way to treat customers. If you don’t like people from other places or tourists you shouldn’t be working in HOSPITALITY.

Remarkable encounters. Went early last night and the restaurant was empty except for two tables. Asked politely for a table for 2 (in poor Italian) and was summarily dismissed by the large man at the front that they were fully booked. Came by one hour later after eating elsewhere and the place was only half full. Phoned tonight and advised they were fully booked for tonight and tomorrow. Went by after we ate elsewhere tonight and still only half full. Although we did a grunt from same large (untidy) man at the front. Interesting to note sign in window advertising for a waiter/waitress who understands English - maybe a start would be for someone who understands basic manners. Truly remarkable such a goof exists in business. I have had the privilege of doing business and traveling in Italy many times and far and away, the most idiotic encounter I have had. I recommend you stay away.

Was anticipating to visit this place and try “homemade” Italian food. But got a “welcome” totally opposite to the one you expect in such small cozy places. Waitress was rude and made us feel irrelevant. Same story as in other comments :”Only 2 tables taken and “fully booked”. I would be fine with that - reservation is a rule and it’s fine - I would visit this place on my next trip in Milan. But that rude treatment made us feel ,like we are “not enough Italian”, so 1 star for the lost customer.
