Excelent food, my favorite is the fried ravioli. 😋 Lot's of good servers but my favorite is Josh. I'll be back again.
This restaurant is well kept. The staff is great and welcoming. The food is really good. Everytine we go, we try something different and are never disappointed. I have been here with a small group of people, a large group of people and on a date. Regardless of the party size, the service is great.
The food was great. The restaurant is quaint. But the service? It was excellent. Ashley was attentive and friendly!
Pleasingly delightful. Quite the beer selections with full service bar. Quick service at the bar area during midday. The atmosphere was pleasant with lots of TVs with all types of games playing. Will go again and take some pictures next time around. Friendly staff makes this a come back place.
First time here for a birthday party. Onlu down fall is I was hoping they would at least sing if anything for the birthday girl. Otherwise everything was great and I was impressed with the dressings for the salads. I asked for any in house made dressings and they said they didn't have any but I wouldn't have been able to tell.
One of our favorite restaurants since converting into the tavern. Happy Hour available all day, every day in the back half of the restaurant. Drink specials and foods specials with 100 different types of beer to choice from. Check the happy hour menu as well as the regular menu because each day has a different special after 4pm such as Steak and all you can eat shrimp.
Very nice atmosphere, excellent food and the service is wonderful. Will definitely return! The fried Calamari was perfect; tender with the perfect coating to make a little bit of crunch but not overwhelming. The Chicken Marsala was absolutely delicious, filled up on half so had to bring the other half home. Not disappointed at all regarding this restaurant.
Very professional from start to finish. Manager (Modesto) top notch. Truly felt like he cared about his guest. Food was outstanding. Ordered numerous items to go (usually to go food isn’t as good as dine in. But this was great. We had a variety of items from pasta to chicken I would recommend carinos to anyone visiting Modesto. I managed different restaurants for over 20years
Great food and service! Jonny's has become our go-to place for good priced fast restaurant meals!
Leela was awesome great customer service #CreasedUp
I have never been before. I ordered the special for 15.99 to go. Plenty of food actually fed two people. The staff was wonderful. The steak I was expecting to be really small and not very good, I ordered rare. By the time I got home to Patterson I dug in. That was one of the best steaks and still cooked perfect. Tender and flavorful. Next time dine in and enjoy a glass (or two) of Chianti perfect pairing. Everything was great. Thank you A++++
Very nice workers, I ordered the spicy pasta They remade me a new one when I couldn’t eat it, very nice environment
Great food! Great Deal! Ashley our server was amazing. She was very personable and answered all our questions. A great representative for your company.
Great restaurant, they had great pizza and pasta, great service, and the feels and the atmosphere was fancy and cozy. Our server Ashley was great also. She was nice and a great person. Really recommend this place!
We loved the new Carinos reenovation. It has a more cozy and intimate ambient. The food was really good and our waitress, Melinda, was very attentive and we were very happy with her service. Every one needs to visit it because the food is really tasty.
First time here, was at mall and we decided to come have lunch. What a good find, super cute little spot, friendly staff, food was really good & very affordable. Rate this place a 5 STAR.
This might be my second time leaving a review here, but I wanted to give them another one. We had a fabulous dinner last night. Forgot to take a picture! I think I gobbled down my lasagna before I could think about it. Now,,,,we eat at alot of places, Italian and steak places, but this was the best lasagna we have had in a long time. Our steaks were wonderful and finally, mine was actually served medium,,,AS I ordered it! Husband always gets well so it seems like I ever really get medium, because they must cook mine and set it aside instead of just putting it on later. We were very impressed. The bread at the beginning of the meal is just heavenly. The tiramisu,,,,I can't even describe....best I have ever had and better than any bakery tiramisu I have ever had. Another great thing about this place, is they always have deals on certain nights and they also send amazing email offers, probably the best out of anywhere we go. The servers are pretty nice. Jessica was on point last night. Can't wait to go back and eat like 3 pieces of lasagna and a few tiramisus!!!
Went here for my daughter's birthday. It was actually our third choice because everything else was packed. Very pleased we came here. Our party was seated right away. The host was great and food was on point. The bar has a huge selection of beer on tap. Great times.
Ashley the server did a marvelous job. Food a was great. TV special made diner a good value
The food was amazing, especially the bread. I have never had better bread at a restaurant. We were only in for the day and went on recommend from someone and we're not disappointed! I had the spicy chicken and shrimp pasta and it was great! Service and atmosphere were also great. Strongly recommend this place!
First time here!!! Food was better than imagined. Pleasantly surprised at how good everything tasted. Could use more prompt greeting at hostess desk up front, but otherwise a great experience. Daniel waited on us and was personable and a delight. We will be back!!!
Great specials when you sign up! Love the food and Great service!
Everything was great! Our server was attentive without hovering. The drinks were delicious. We had very little wait for our food. We’ll be back!
The wife and I stopped in and had an amazing experience. The food was delicious. The drinks were tasty... and best of all the waitress was amazing... we would definitely eat here again....
Went back for lunch because I had a coupon. The food was tasty, as usual. I've never had a bad meal here. I had the green chili and jalapeno Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. This is one of my favorite dishes here. The service is good and they have (I believe) 50 beers on tap. It's a great place for the family or a group. The atmosphere is a cross between Italian restaurant and sports bar. The menu had something for everyone. You really can't go wrong here. It's a little on the pricy side, but we enjoy it enough to drive 40 minutes to have lunch here, just not frequently. If you haven't been, give it a try. I doubt you'll be disappointed.
Their SPICY ROMANO CHICKEN PASTA is my favorite. I tried their wedged salad which was surprisingly very good. I've ordered family pasta platters to go & they don't last long.
Dinner was delicious. Our server, Jaylyn was the best ever. She was very attentive and treated us very well, always with a great attitude and a smile.
Okay, idk why lol, but I love Johnny Carinos! Idk it's good to me and it's a place I enjoy going. I've tried the lobster ravioli, which was great, and the mozzarella sticks are more like squares (theyre big!) The chicken bow tie was my most recent dish, so I involved a pic!

Absolutely delicious pasta
Fun time with the girls. Us, and the servers. Ask what they recommend. I did. And they we're on point. Including the hint of balsamic on the pasta dish. I would have gorged myself on the whole bowl. Thanks for the take home box. Because that dessert was worth stopping for too. De-yum. And the drink, good call. Not too heavy and a good meal sipper. Nice compliment to the eats. Happy server. Happy customer. And vise versa. Be a nice customer, don't be a stupid drunk. Drink responsibly. See you again Johnny! Happy hour was just that!
My wife likes this place but for me it's hit or miss. The foods either tasty or not. All long as the wife likes it I'll keep my hopes up that the best meal will be better than the last. The servers are are polite and professional.
Arrived for an early dinner, there was only a 10 minute wait. Server was attentive, bringing us more bread and soda without us asking first. Pasta dish I had was unusual, it had black olives and capers along with fresh diced tomato, artichoke hearts, basil, and I added chicken. Everything tasted fresh. Hubby had Alfredo with shrimp. We also had ceaser salads. Generous portions and pasta arrived hot. Menu features over 100 beers to choose from, Italian sodas, wine and the usual beverages. The menu has the usual American dishes as well limited Italian, so there is a choice for everyone. Italian choices reminded me of an Olive Garden .
Fun atmosphere but don't sit in the tall booths. No place to rest your feet- unless you'retaller than 6'1. We both complained of our legs going numb. As for the food, bowtie festival is always good. Steak special was good. Drinks were weak. Service staff was very friendly but they could have used more help. Slow kitchen that evening. I'd go again.
Been here twice and Daniel helped us both times, and our service was excellent! He’s very attentive and easy going so it made our experience that much better. Food was very tasty and came out in a good amount of time considering it was a busy night. Will definitely be back :)
Staff was young and energetic, Beautiful building from the outside, easy to find well placed. Has very pretty plants and lighting was amazing. I like the vibe and theme to the place, has a warm welcoming feel. Price was equally matched with the food. Overall very good place for a social outing or family night.

Johnny Carino's has been a favorite of mine since it came to Modesto. It has changed quite a bit over the years. Now it is 2 restaurants in one building. One side is more intimate and classic Italian the other side is BBQ sport bar feeling. The manager is always very polite and checks on you frequently. Pricing is crazy, but you can expect a similar cost to any other sit down diner.

Food is always vary good but the service sucks 1 waitress is not enough she has do the bar and serve tables to. The poor waitresses there are so stressed out. So if you go expect a long visit
I went right after pandemic n it was awful. Last night wz better. Ordered the scampi rib-eye special. Scampi wz good, Cesar salad fresh n crisp….but ribeye wz very tough n gristle. Atmosphere was very loud and busy. Glad to see it back busy but still some improvement on quality of food. For $15.99 it wz adequate. Assuming the 30 ribeye would have been much better.
Modified from original post. The manager did a good job responding to our concerns and making things right. The bartender was great, good guy extremely hard working took care of us. The rest of the wait staff is bad, very bad, the restaurant would be better served to go without. Still despite the manager doing a good job responding to our concerns we will not come back. Updated from 1 star to 3 based upon managers response and the good job the bartender did.
I usually like this place but that was when you could go in and sit down. Today the restaurant had a special going ( buy 2 get 2 ) on take out. I ordered the food but it took 2 employees to take it, ugh! when my husband went to pick it up they didnt have it ready because the person on the phone couldn't understand me. And he was the one with the accent! Even after it was reordered they still couldn't get it right! He was there for almost an hour waiting. I am very disappointed . I hope they get better.
Went in for lunch today. There were a few customers but not packed. We sat & waited 10 minutes for our drink order to be taken. By that time we ordered our drinks & food at the same time. Took 20 minutes to get our drinks & bread & then another 15 minutes to get our food. Waitress was horrible. She walked by us at least 20 times going to the register & back. She was more concerned with closing out her other tables than getting us our drinks. Watched a cook in the back with a cooking glove on grab a dirty door frame with the same glove he picks up food with. If I wasn’t shaky because I needed food, we would have got up & left. My husband’s sandwich said chicken breast & when he got it, the chicken may have been chicken breast but it was small pieces that would not stay on the bread. He took it apart & rebuilt it himself. Not a good experience. We will never go back.
Giving it a 3 due to the state of the restaurant. It was not busy and it was so dirty. We asked to move tables because of this and the second table was no better. Sticky table tops, VERY dirty menus that were sticky, had things between the pages and crumbs throughout. Almost left before we even ate but decided to give it a shot. Our waitress was great, food was hot.
When a sauce breaks so does my heart. I feel like the food is different depending on the day/whos cooking. Some things are great and some are disappointing. Some servers are outstanding, often understaffed. The tables need to be resurfaced, I don't think the years of use and spills can be cleaned off at this point. Expensive to remodel and the rent by the mall has to be outrageous. There are some unique dishes to try.
I agree with the 3.7 star rating. Yes the tables are still sticky, the waitress was outstanding. The food was average at best, the prices were outrageous. They offer famous Dave's ribs BUT not the selection of sauces....none.
Atmosphere was fine, service was good with the exception of a few missing items. The caesar salad was fishy and the cheese cake was terrible. The chocolate cake tasted like cigarettes. On the other hand, I had a spicy chicken pasta with red sauce which was tasty. They accommodate big groups with notice. Please update/ change your chocolate cake recipe and your cheesecake recipe. Many agreed with me about the salad and the desserts. Keep me updated with any changes. I would love to make this my go to restaurant for our big parties.
We have not been here in a few years. We decided to go back as I was craving the Baked Cheese Tortellini. My wife ordered the 8 oz steak with potato wedges. She thought the steak was just ok. The Tortellini dish I ordered was delicious. They gave us extra bread and kept our drinks full. The service was good. This place has really gone downhill. The tables are sticky and the restaurant is very unclean. It’s really sad to see. Ever since they made this into a sports bar, it’s not been the same. This is where my wife and I had our first date in 2008 and our wedding rehearsal dinner in 2011. We won’t be in a hurry to come back if we decide to.
It's a bit confusing about The Happy Hour advertising. The drinks were confusing and the prices weren't clear. The lobster ravioli was tasty, and the stuffed mushrooms appetizer was very tasty, too. Both dishes were flavorful. I would return again. I think service could have been better. Maybe because it was the end of the night, so I would give it another chance.
So It was my 1st time here..our server was nice..atmosphere was good..loud...well lit..great place to hang out and have some beers..my only dislike was my plate & my daughters and cousin..we got the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken but in green chili sauce...our plates were dry..our noodles were overcooked and some were hard..also lacked taste..maybe one day I'll try it again and get a better experience
The location and food are really good, I ordered a fried calamari and a spicy shrimp pasta, the atmosphere it was very relax but service really slow, we wait 45 min to get ready our food

All around the experience was OK. There was good and there was not so good. When we arrived there were very few tables occupied. When we left they were very few tables empty. Actually one server for the whole dining area. She did have some help from the hostess and a food runner. But it was a job for her. She should’ve had another server. We started with the deep fried raviolis. They were very good but they were OVERPRICED. Four raviolis for $11. Nope! My son ordered the three meat pizza. He enjoyed it. $21 The dough was good but I’m sure it comes frozen. I ordered the $16 special…endless salad, fettuccine Alfredo and all you can eat lasagna. The salad was weird. It’s like they took all the fixing off of the pizza line and put it in a bowl and called it a salad. The dressing could be better…maybe add a little balsamic. The fettuccine Alfredo was meh. I definitely would not order that as a meal. The first lasagna I received was just OK. It certainly was not freshly made or it was left in the oven too long. I did ask for a refill on the lasagna and the second was definitely amazing compared to the first one. The noodles were actually cooked, it was hot and freshly made with melted cheese over the top and actual meat in the sauce. I was impressed. I wish the first one would’ve been as good. The second one was so good that I would be happy just to have endless lasagna for dinner forget the salad and forget the fettuccine Alfredo. Overall I think three stars is fair. Considering the food, the price and the service. I’m not sure we’ll be back I’d be more inclined to go next-door to famous Dave’s!

This was my first time in Modesto, my SOs closest thing to a hometown. I told him to take me some place he thought was good ages ago when he used to live there. He said Johnny Carino, because I always say no to olive garden, or overpriced italian applebees as I call it. Regardless, I couldn't resist the idea of some spaghetti, it's been over 6 months since I've had some. Well we go in and they tell us it will be a 40 minute wait, which we are fine with.. But as we wait 3 different groups waiting got up at different times and complained that it had been way longer and were seated after saying something. This to me was a red flag, we waited the 40 minutes and my SO went to go ask about a table, they told us it would be another 1o minutes. We waited another 20 before being seated in an empty section besides one large party with screaming children. The hostess sat us and left with the menu, and about 10 minutes later they came and took our drink order. About 10 minutes after that they bring them out and a little bread basket, and they leave. This entire time they havent taken our order. Our waitress leaves after bringing bread and drinks and as we were starving we totally demolished the bread, the waitress came back maybe like 8 minutes later and asked if we wanted a refill on bread and my SOs coke. My SO said yes, and remained very polite as the waitress had been apologetic before. We then had to ask if we could order. She took our order, and left. She came to our table again and asked us if we wanted more bread... She forgot the first time, by now it has been another 10 minutes or so, and after she asked by the time she brought it out and my SOs drink, it had been a total of 20 min since the first time we asked. Another 10ish minutes passes and our appetizer comes out, it was ok. Then both of our entrees were supposed to come with soup, they brought my SO his after a long while, but never mine. After several minutes we heard someone in the kitchen yell they were out of soup. We waited longer for our entrees, at least 30 min before we got up and left, and went to sonic. Sonic gave us our food quickly and it was good, funnily enough the drive through lady there said they were short staffed too, but we didn't have to wait over 2 hours to not even get our order.
My wife and I used to dine at Johnny Carino's weekly before it transformed into a sports bar. Lately, the only time we go is for the email specials. Today we decided to take advantage of a to go special and the service was very disappointing. It was after 8:00 on a Sunday and I was totally ignored at the front lobby. A staff member saw me and another gentleman that came in after me, said nothing and walked away. I had to walk around the corner to get the attention of someone to pick up my food. Seems they are always understaffed now a days. Poor management had been obvious for a while now.
It has been a few years since our last visit, and wow has this place changed. It used to have great food and a nice ambiance and now it looks like a Dennys inside and the food has gone down hill. Definitely will not return, however, our waitress was very pleasant and prompt.
This place came up recently in conversation with a friend who was an avid fan like me, but it had been a longgg time (2 years) at least since our last visit. We both had fond memories of Carino's and they have always had one of the largest beer selections in Modesto which kind of made it a hidden gem. 100 taps I think. My wife and I decided to head over for lunch. Service was great. Everyone we interacted with was pleasant, but the food was not at all how I had remembered it. Pasta was watery and my beer was flat. While I know it isn't possible to have all of those going, they only had like 16-17 beers on tap out of all of them displayed. I guess I could have sent it back but I hate to be that guy. While I get this place was never meant to be true authentic Italian I was expecting better than Applebee's quality. $70 with 2 drinks was bit much for what it was.
Quality of food has gone down. The angel hair pasta with artichoke was bland. Decided to take home lasagna and tastes like chef boyardee to say the least. Was not at all impressed. Will definitely seek other establishments next time in the area. 2 stars only cause the waitress was good.
Gave it two stars because the service was horrible took awhile for a waiter to come serve my family and I. But one of the main reasons why I’m leaving a review is because of the chef who cooked my food. Order a pasta which I wanted sausages and shrimp added to it. When I received my dinner I noticed the chef did not cut up the sausages, not to be gross but it look like two you know what's on my plate drenched in red sauce. When asked if I can take it back to get it fixed, the chef had an attitude and had a fit with the waitress. Mind you I’m paying to have my dinner here. I’ve been coming to carino’s quite some time now and I loved doing happy hour there with my family. But it will be some time til I come back and eat there.
The staff was very friendly l, let me get that out first, but most of the food we got was bad. Most of the pasta dishes we got tasted frozen or had an overpowering taste, while the soup and salad that came before the entrees were watery and had soggy lettuce. The only thing that was good were the pizzas and Appetizers, but that's about it. Not to mention, wherever we were sitting had an awful smell, specifically smelling like dog urine. The Johnny Carino's back in brentwood was way better than this, so I don't know what happened here.
We went for dinner and drinks and to watch the world series game. We've gone for dinner before and never had a problem but since opening for indoor dining, they are lacking in service. I ordered a large beer, and got a small. Not to mention they hardly have any beer on tap. We ordered a regular appetizer and got the small tavern size. Our Calzone came out burned, the replacement was wrong and and hour later, it finally came out right. They weren't that busy to make that many mistakes, and not that apologetic. The food was good, but it will be a while before we go back.
We went for the burger special that was sent to our phone, when we got there they weren't accepting it at this location. They had a Wednesday special a Pepperoni Pizza with 12 wings and it was half price. Even at half price it was $35.00. It was no bargain. The pizza was maybe a medium at best and quite frankly I don't think it's even Pizza or something they make there. It was the worst hunk of garbage I have ever eaten. Grocery store frozen Pizza is much better. They even charged for the ranch for the wings. The only positive was the service which is usually very good. The only time it's worth going there is when we have a buy one get one free coupon. Even for a bowl of spaghetti and meatballs its almost $30.00. Italian food is some of the cheapest foods to prepare. No wonder why we were the only ones in the Restaurant.
The birthday dinner was not particularly good. My chicken marsala with fettuccine was ruined by overcooked dry chicken. If the cook added marsala, it could not be tasted. Maria’s Lemon Pepper Salmon was a little better than my chicken marsala, but the salmon was overcooked too. The burnt edges were unappetizing, so he could only eat the center meat. The service was excellent.
Always order the Mama's Spaghetti it's great. This time so spicy I can't eat it. Very disappointed. Won't get it again! We travel from Manteca to get something I can't eat. Definitely not worth the trip. Chef did really Bad job this time!
My Aunt & I visit family for the Christmas Holidays. She enjoys dining at this establishment every year, however; we were disappointed with our recent lunch experience. The restaurant now has a shared space with a separate restaurant. It's a bit odd as there are no walls dividing the two businesses. The kitchen & bathrooms are also shared by the two establishments. My Aunt's favorite dish on the menu is the Angel Hair Pasta with Artichokes, however; the server informed us that Angel Hair pasta is no longer offered. The dish is now made with spaghetti. My Aunt was disappointed but ordered the dish anyway. The food was hot and delivered to our table in a timely manner but the Spaghetti with Artichokes did not include Artichokes. When this was brought to our servers attention she informed us they were sold out of artichokes This was surprising to hear since the restaurant opened at 11:45am and we arrived at 12:05pm The server asked if my Aunt wanted to order something else in its place but my Aunt was not interested. My Aunt asked our server if Spaghetti with Artichokes could be taken off our bill. The server asked her manager and it was taken off our bill. My Aunt had also wanted decaf tea or decaf coffee but neither were available. I enjoyed a glass of red wine and the Stuffed Mushrooms. Our server was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately we decided to not return in the future.

It’s under new management and the place has gone down hill. New manager should be investigated for firing the original waitresses and cooks to hire on his own friends and family.
Writing this while I am here sitting and trying to swallow the worst piece of steak I ever ate, it doesn't have any flavor not even salt. I wish it was the only issue with our food, if you like Sysco food, this place is the haven for you, everything just taste so bad and poorly cooked. Also this place is very expensive, you will spend the same or less at Olive Garden. Or maybe just go get sushi and spend less money.
Called to ask wait time and they said about 15 minutes, we live around the corner got there in about 2 minutes. They had us wait about an hour for our seats. Went to use the restroom while we waited and the restroom smell and wher dirty. On my way back I noticed about 75% of the tables where empty and made me wonder about the long wait. They then sat us down on an oily table. Looked like oil was spilled all over the table. It then took about 15 to 20 minutes for them to ask our drink order. We decided to order drinks and appetizers at the same time. The drink took another 10 minutes appetizers took much longer. We can actually see the appetizers sit under the heat lamps. We heard the chef call out to the eaiter to hurry up and move the appetizers because they no longer had space. All kinda slowly chaotic if you ask Me. The fettuccine was not creamy. The calamari was badly breaded. The seafood lenguini had no flavor. Their signature drink was pre-made in a margaritas machine. This place deserves a 1 star rating compare it next to a chilis or buffalo wild wings. 1 star dining at most.
If I could I would totally NOT give any stars!!! I only did because that’s the only way I can write my review!!! Wow!!! By far the rudest server and to think we would’ve given him a very nice tip!!! We got seated by the host and she was kind… Waited for our server and he was rude as heck - super sharp - not patient and when my father went to address him he got even nastier with his disgusting arrogant self!!! I have no idea why he was so ugly towards us as we were very polite and would say “thank you - no, thank you & etc”!!! My father is very old school and he has taught his kids to be respectful & kind despite our age or gender!!! We were so kind that we left a tip for the most arrogant server I’ve ever meet!!! I hope the restaurant will work on their customer service skills!!! Special shout out to BJ’s for being so kind and serving us well (drop mic)
Will not go back until they get a new Manager. She was very rude to her employees and literally yelling at them on the other side of the wall where we were sitting, telling them to hurry up from their break and each one need to go get dishes now. All 5 girls looked miserable walking back out onto the floor. place wasn't even busy. Didn't catch the Manager name once we heard that we didn't order just walked out but she needs to be fired that is not how to treat people.
These 5 star reviews are fake. This place sucks. The service is really slow. It was so cold inside our party had to grab blankets from our cars because the waitress refused to turn on the heater. The food is okay at best.I could make better fettuccine from a box .
Went with a large party to celebrate a friends wedding anniversary. The service was a bit slow, but ok considering the large group. The pizza was awful and it made me sick. Didn't sleep that night from being sick to my stomach.
Very disappointed. It was my first time coming in, as several of my family said they had amazing food. Unfortunately, we didnt even get past the appetizers. When we first arrived, we waited about 10-15 minutes before a waitress came to the table to greet or take a drink order. After that she came back and we said we wanted to order both appetizers and our meal. As soon as we ordered an appetizer, she rudely walked away. We waited 45 minutes until we had to flag another server down to see if we could place an order, which his response was no, he would notify our waitress. Meanwhile she is chit chatting with a bar attendant and completely ignored our table. This went on several times. We waited another 20 minutes and still no service. Also, we went in well before a rush came in and she was not busy. The appetizers were great just wish we could of gotten to our meal.
Poor/horrible customer service. Not pregnant friendly, made us sit at the bar with our 3 year old because they didn't want to use the tables outfront & and it was very uncomfortable to sit 30 weeks pregnant at a bar table. Also it took 1 hr for them to come and offer us something to drink. I ordered a burger and asked for the burger to be well done since I'm pregnant, the burger was medium rare almost rare because I could see blood dripping and when I asked if it could be well done the chef said it was already well done. To add to this my drink was lemonade but it tasted like sugar and lemon with no water, I asked if could get a cup of water and the waitress brought me a kids size cup with water instead. My husbands food was ok but for the price we paid and not giving customers what they request, its not worth spending your money here.
Was here from San Diego to visit family and was shocked!!! 1 server for 25 people And only 2 people in the kitchen. Had 4 people with me and couldn't even sit down to eat. Sad how a great restaurant, with great recipes has started going down hill the last couple times I went. Under staffed is more of a owner or management problem, I feel bad for the few people that have to be over worked.
Went for my birthday We had to wait about 10 to 15 minutes to be seated Waited 10 minutes just for a drink order to be taken It seemed like forever to get our food it wasn't brought out together either The lemon chicken was a VERY thin dry peice of meat with no real flavor very disappointed They only had 2 people working totally ridiculous I gave them a second chance the following Saturday We had to wait again They only had the same 2 people working while we were sitting there waiting forever for food I could see that the Famous Dave's part of the establishment had alot of waiters and waitresses got fast service like WTH I was asked if I wanted spinach with my meal I said sure but wasn't aware that at an Italian restaurant it was just going to be spinach and chicken with no pasta and a ton of oil on it Terrible I will not be back
I had the shrimp fettuccine the noodles could have been cooked longer the shrimp could have been cooked better I ordered the orange cream soda and it had some black stuff floating in it they brought me another one and the same thing happened I've had better initial food
Rude servers and manager. We had made reservations and called twice to confirm yet when we arrived hostess said she had no record of reservations and never apologized just dismissed it like no big deal. Asked to speak to manager, assistant manager came after a few minutes even though place was pretty empty. He came over and had a attitude like we were bothering him.Not once did they apologize for their mess up. We left , went to BJ's and had great food and excellent service and happy workers!! Won't go here again .
The food is good but the service is the worse. I’ve only been here on 3 separate occasions because I like their pizza & calzone but all 3 times, the service was terrible each time. I kept going back & giving them another chance thinking it was just our server but no. The last straw was when we waited 30mins for our server to finally ask us what he wanted to drink. They hadn’t even brought out the bread to keep us occupied. I started to tell him that we had been waiting & he cut he off mid sentence & looked at my bf to get his drink order. It was only us & 2 other tables in the whole establishment being occupied. Of course I was upset & was going to express my dismay at this. Like I mentioned, the bad service was every time & after that last one, we haven’t gone back. I won’t even give them my business by doing a to go order
My husband decided to take me out today for my birthday and we went to Carinos. My husband ordered the seafood fettuccine and as he was eating it there was a maggot coming out of the Mussles gross right. So we sent the plate back and the manager did nothing and sent the waiter to tell us that it was normal a maggot coming out. sea food or not is not normal he did not offer to comp or discount for our food so we left with a bad experience my husband even went to talk to the manager and he didn't seem to care he didn't offer an apology either. The food was also bland no flavor . would of been better off going to olive garden better costumer service never again wish i would of token a picture before sending it back but we were grossed out.
My wife and i went here for lunch yesterday. 1/17/2022 After we were seated it took 20 minutes to even get a glass of water. My wife had a steak and scampi special. The waiter did not ask her how she wanted her steak cooked. Never in my 65 years have i ever seen that before! The shrimp in her scampi was not deveined. Totally gross! This show me that they just dont care about the customer and poor management! Next time we want Italian it will be Olive Garden for sure! You deserve to go to where Tahoe Joes went and stay there!
Server was super sweet. I think they were short handed because it was sooo slow getting seated and the place was empty. My husband's steak was requested to be medium and it came back well done. He regretted sending it back because the seared the outside and didn't season it one bit. Our waitress noticed and the manager removed it from our bill. Don't think we will be returning
We went here for dinner for my MIL's birthday They were not busy that night so I dont get why they're slow. First we got seated after 8mins of wait , So I thought it will be a fast service as we didnt have to wait long to be seated. Once we are seated. All the servers were ignoring us. Waited good 10mins before I decided to get up and talk to the front service that we have no server. We didnt even get any water when we got seated. A server only came up to us because I went to tge front person and ask for a server. 🙄 Server took our orders as we were ready since we've been looking at menus while theyre ignoring us. And she was not nice when she took oir orders. As she made it feel like we are bothering her. Took them 18mins to get our water. Water that we supposed to get right when we got seated. 🙄 And they only gave us 1 bread for the whole time that we were waiting ,mind you theres 5 person in our party. We asked 5times for the bread. We only got it after 25mins. Our orders got to us after 40mins. Asked for parmesan cheese twice. We never got it. At this point we really are not enjoying our dinner. Never got our drinks refill. In short the dining experience here is not nice. I would not come back. We didnt finish our food, as we just decided to leave as we dont feel welcome and not really enjoying the night at this restaurant anymore. I wont recommend going here. Although the food is good, the horrible service and rude servers are not worth it.
This was the worst place to eat at. It took over 10 min to get a water, 20 min for iced tea. Since we had so much time waiting, I was watching the staff. A young guy cooking was eating while he cooked, a waitress poured 2 glasses of wine then proceeded to use the bar towel to clean around the top and rims of the glasses. They must've been pretty dirty by the way she kept looking then rubbing them. One cook began tossing spaghetti noodles with his hands, no gloves, then put it into a strainer. He did this several times while doing other things in between and never washing his hands. When we finally did get our food, the chicken was so over cooked and hard I couldn't bite it. The spaghetti tasted horrible, no flavor, it was like plain tomato sauce. I sent my plate back and refused to order anything else. My husband's chicken parm was the same as mine, hard, over cooked. The bread we got before our food was good and the water was the best tasting thing there. There's a Johnny carinos in twin falls Idaho, we used to go there often. This is one nothing like the one in Idaho. It's like a low budget Italian Denny's , well not quite as good. Great water!
Ok food but what makes this place bad is the customer service and attention to detail. We’ve been there twice and spent over $130 for our meals and both times they failed to include our ordered desserts. (We ordered to go both times) The first time, we received an I’m sorry and nothing more. The second time we did receive a full refund but it was a huge letdown! The food was room temperature and the bread could of been used to pound nails. Finally, the Tiramisu was very very dry and lacked the delicious delicate flavor of a true ladyfinger dessert! The service staff were not very friendly or accommodating except for the on duty manager, who saved the day. If you want Italian you may reconsider going here.
Horrible location and service. Came in with 3 parties ahead and got quoted 10-15 minutes. When we looked around, we realized they are now partnered with Famous Dave’s and has clearly lost a lot of their charm. On the way to the restroom, we noticed a table with a pizza that looked like it was from Little Caesars. After about 30 minutes, the hostess came up and said they had to add more wait time (another 15 minutes) right as their manager is quoting another party of two 25-30 minutes. We asked about sitting in the bar area for Happy Hour (still advertised) and was told they don’t serve food there and don’t do Happy Hour prices. No one on the entire staff was in a hurry and were walking around slower than turtles and no one had a smile on. Working in the restaurant industry, I’ve been well aware people don’t want to return to work, but not working hard to make a good experience for guests isn’t an acceptable way to run a restaurant. Safe to say we didn’t stay long. Shame for what was once a cute Italian Restaurant.
Traveled from out of town to eat at this restaurant. Only one other customer eating. Had the place to ourselves so it was quiet. The server was helpful and answered our questions. We ordered the "tv special" What a horrible meal! The "rib-eye" did not look or taste like a rib-eye, but instead had the look and tough texture of a New York strip. The meat was hard to cut with a steak knife and arrived very unappealing. It was gray in color. Most of the meat was inedible with sinew and was extremely hard to chew. It went unbeaten. It appeared to be put on the "grill" frozen due to the color and toughness. No way was it a fresh prime rib steak. The ad shows a nice, juicy steak. Not hardly!!!!! A dog would have had a hard time chewing it. The green salad was made with colorless iceberg lettuce. It did have a good variety of add ons. The bread was a very dried out baseball bat. Horrible!! The Italian nachos had sat under a warming light a long time. Edges were burnt and clump of cheese on top dried out. Not creamy like the ad shows. When the server finally came by to ask about our meal I told her the meat was HORRIBLE and she said nothing---just walked off. She saw the ugly pile of meat on our plates and just walked away. We will NEVER eat here again OR recommend this place. Do not get influenced by the ad on t.v. It is totally a come-on with false advertising!!!!
Went there at 1pm and we were the only 2 there. It was so cold, we were shivering, and I'm not exaggerating. The Waitress said they had to keep it cold because when it gets busy, it gets hot in there. Again we were the only 2 in there. My bf loves 1 of the pasta dishes, which he liked. I ordered chicken ceaser, which i was unaware came with tomatoes and black olives. The waitress took it back and had it remade like a normal ceaser, which still wasn't very good. Chicken was dry, overcooked. That place had gone down hill and unfortunately we will not be going back.
Absolute joke of an establishment. My wife and I waited over 10 minutes just to be acknowledged for a table. Once we sat down it was another 30 minutes just to get bread which we had to ask for. Finally about 45 minutes after placing our orders we were given our burnt mozzarella sticks. The waiting staff really needs better observation skills as I sat with an empty glass for 15 minutes as well only to be refilled by me walking to the bar. Throughout this experience my waiter never checked on us a single time, only when it was 9pm and they needed to close. Keep in mind we walked through the door at 7:25. Do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else.
Not the same since they split the building into 2 restaurants to accommodate the BBQ place. Carino’s side is small and cramped. Food just isn’t the same quality as before. Sad to see a good place go downhill like that.
Over 30 mins to even get our drinks about 30mins to get salads, and the appetizers were put out 15 mins after the salad. Then food came out a few mins after. It was cold and was not like what was advertised on tv. During that time, others came in, but a majority walked out. 7 people were in the places all waiting. The server assistant was rude and talking badly about customers who were waiting but left. She was speaking rudely about the customers in front of the house where we could all see and hear her. She had an attitude the whole time and didn't even try to say sorry. Finally got our food it was cold. We did speak to the manager, and she did comp the meal. During our wait, we watch 8 people walk out by the time we got our food. We will not be going back, I hope that no one else will have to have the same experience.
I'm not the type to leave a review, but I had to in this case. There has been a change in the menu. We came for boneless wings and ended up with chicken nuggets. I would not recommend for anyone to buy these "nuggets". I paid $15 for 10 boneless wings "nuggets". I rather go to McDonald's and buy a 20 piece for $5. I would give zero stars if I could but the app won't allow me to. We won't be going back, highly disappointed.
The table was sticky. The bathroom was disgusting. Floors and seats have obvious build up and the main door window hasn't been wiped in months. My chicken marcela sauce was uncooked wine with separated oil. My kids didn't like the pizza. The menu was overpriced for the quality of food. It is a large portion of food but not prepared properly.
Horrible! Dirty, dirty, dirty!! The only thing good was the bread. Chicken was burnt, Pizza was burnt, and the sauce for the spaghetti..pretty sure Prego. This place has gone down hill!

I was told that I would receive a lasagna family meal per sam for a incident that occurred in the restaurant . i also order grilled chicken parmigiana w/ spaghetti and a Caesar salad I was paying for for I arrived to pick it up I was met with drama by the manager I told him that’s fine I would just leave my order I gave the manager $100 bill because he insisted I take the order he refused to take it when I got home the food looked horrid the chicken parmigiana looked like it had cheese slices like the plastic wrapped the lasagna was a small portion for maybe 3 not the usual family meal . We will not be coming back .
Every time I go to this place, usually someone else's choice, I am disappointed, the food and service is just horrible! I cannot understand how this restaurant stays in business!!
Oh man we were looking forward to a nice pasta lunch and what a crime. It was so bad. The chicken Parmesan was so hard sent it back and came back burned. Spaghetti was not good. Meatball was ok but found out it was 5 dollars for one. . Sad. Nooo never coming back.
