The cashier's at the drive thru was very friendly and had a great attitude even though they were slammed with customers. Thank you for living up to the request for 15$/hr minimum. If everyone at fast food restaurants worked like this girl then I wouldn't mind a $15/hr wage increase.

Oh Wow! They were awesome. I went to the drive thru and ordered very “picky” certain nachos and they came out just the way I wanted them. They were so delicious! They guy in the drive thru was very polite and said back my order just the way I told him I wanted it. So I knew he was paying very close attention. Overall I had a very good experience! I enjoy the $5 menu that is a good value for the price. It comes with a full meal, including cups and a drink. At this particular visit, the staff we're especially friendly. I came back with a special request and the manager was kind enough to allow my special request which made my visit all the better.

One of the best. The food is made well, and they handled my custom order to perfection 🥰 I needed a low carb option, so I asked for a pollo bowl with extra chicken and less rice and beans. I asked them to make it mostly chicken. For an extra fee, they accommodated me, and they got it right! The first night, the chicken was a little pink. 😱 The second night was much better. I didn't get sick, but it did scare me, so I threw the entire meal away. Check your chicken!

I hadn't been here in a while, but was pleasantly surprised with their renovation and menu update. They carry their classic grilled chicken and added delicious flavors like habanero mango salsa. The food is served hot and well portioned. It is apparent they take pride in what they do as their staff is courteous, friendly, and swift; their restaurant is well maintained. Great food! We tried the birria quesadilla meal. Filling, hot, and tasty! Really enjoyed the avocado salsa that came with it. The staff were very nice, great music playing. We will be back!

New Vietnamese restaurant in town and had to try it out. I must say I am very impressed with everything. Customer service, the cleanliness of everything (including the restroom). I had a small combination Pho and that was a lot! And a Vietnamese coffee. Everything was perfect. Definitely recommend.

I come here during my lunch breaks (weekdays between 11 to 1.30pm) if I'm in the area. My order is always right and comes out quick whether it's super busy or not. It's a small location but love the fresh salads, with grilled chicken. Best salads in town for the affordable price. No need to go tog a fancy restaurant to pay $15 bucks when you can come here and pay under $8 bucks and be happy with and great fresh meal.

When we entered the building of the el pollo loco building we find that 1. The place was very busy as we entered in at sometime of 7:00 pm 2. The place wasn't well kept but given the rush of orders it would seem to be expected, I give the cleanliness a 3 out of 5 at that moment 3. They were so busy that they forgot our order till we reminded them as we presented our receipt of the new 20 dollar chicken and cheesy quesadilla familly dinner that came with 8pc leg and thigh, 2 large sides, 6 quesadilla slices, warm tortillas, and fresh salsa which came at a total of 21.58 including taxes, they were kind enough to put two extra chicken legs/thighs which was nice but when we returned to our home we find out that they forgot our 6 quesadillas but we did get a great amout of warm tortillas hahaha. All in all the food tasted great and the service was good.

I love the Chicken Avocado Bowl. It also has sweet corn, a melted white cheese, pinto beans, some rice and a good amount of fresh grilled chicken chunks. The Avocado is fresh. This is a good alternative to having a hamburger and fries and costs $5.99.)

We usually get the BRC, but today I tried the Chicken less, pollo 🌯. It was a different flavor from what I'm used to. It also had black beans and lettuce in it. Overall good. A decent size burrito for the price.

I'm always up for Birria food. For a promotion, El Pollo Loco has Birria Tacos, burritos, and quesadilla with tortilla chips. We were given Pico de Gallo salsa plus avocado salsa. Drinks sold separately. Staff were super nice. We hope to get back before promotion ends.

Over priced, fantastic, delicious chicken. Love the flavor, very unique. Great service, fast and friendly. However, priced are high and quantity low. Also pieces are small but for a once in a while treat the flavor makes up for it. Awesome salads as well. Yummy making me hungry just thinking about it so if you haven't tried this place out yet, I highly recommend you do, it will not disappoint.

We really enjoyed the food. The salsa was great. The staff were friendly and appeared to be enjoying their time at work. Smiling and joking with one another. I think 5 stars would have been if they had someone walking around the dining area prebussing tables and asking if people need refills or more condiments. The chicken was so yummy!

$5 combos are a great value. This location is usually busy and a bit messy. The salsa bar is great but also a bit of a mess. This visit there wasn't any ice and raspberry tea tasted like water. Overall, though, that doesn'toesnt deter me. Have realistic expectations and you won't be disappointed.

This store is a little cramped on the inside. With 4 people in line almost seemed like we were almost to the front door. The food was really good. The tostada salad is pretty hard to beat. It's not cheap but oh is it so good.

I hate that they don't always have their chicken taquitos. They are the bomb, I love taquitos. Unfortunately I've had to leave due to the fact they didn't have any. I don't understand how they can't just make em' they got the chickens and they got the tortillas....what's the problem. 🤷‍♀️

Inconsistent but overall good. One of the workers in particular is rude, likes to try and guess what you're going to say, which results interrupting and having to repeat yourself so ordering is annoying if shes got the headset. Fast service. Good food, with the occasional disappointingly small piece of chicken.

The workers should be friendlier and also I bought 5 tostada salad and I didn't get enough of the avacados and cilantro sauce ( spicy green sauce) I literally had a request for more twice to two different servers. I managed to get some more but with an attitude as if I was bothering them.

Eh, food could be better. Out of several salsas. Manager too important to be troubled with customers. Everybody else behind counter was too micromanaged to look up from making guacamole or salsa to help. Only 2 other groups in store so not that bisy. Only the kid sweeping the floor tried to offer any sort of customer service. I'd promote him and give the broom to the manager.

I gave only 3 stars because management needs to train their counter people on helping customers in a wheelchair. I asked for 3 oico's because it's hard for me to reach. He did that. C when my order was ready, he wanted to hand me my tray. One of the nice customers helped me. Took my tray and moved a chair so I could go to the table and eat. But then I had to go back and get my drink and napkin. Again a customer came to rescue. Disabled people need a little more help. If the cashier can't leave the counter, get someone who can! Train your employees!!!

I really don't know how old the El Pollo loco was. I know it's a busy place so it seems like it's good. I've only been there once and that was many years ago and at that time it was very delicious. I was visiting next door.

Usually a great place, for my family and I, however, today it was anything but that. My mother and I arrived and ordered, but upon receiving our order, we were lied to by one of the employees about having Guacamole when we asked ( it was right behind her and she still was stating they were out). Not only that, but our tortillas were not given to us and when opening our ordered mashed potatoes, they were dried out and contained an excessive amount of brown powder. Definitely a memorable experience, but for all the wrong reasons.

Food was good, we ordered the chicken tostada, basically a taco salad. It was delicious. I rated them low because the staff was loud and obnoxious, laughing, cursing, just plain rude behavior, on top of that music was blaring. Not sure if their was no manager on duty or if the manager was part of the noise. It's common sense when you have guests in the dining room to be professional. Maybe I'll stick to the drive-thru.

Food was hot and flavorful. Staff was friendly and helpful. Dining was straight nasty. Dirty tables, like all of them. Enough food on the floor for a 20 piece family meal, with sides and tortillas. Trash cans overflowing, with guacamole and salsa smeared all over them. Cleaning materials and chemicals left out.

They remodeled recently but the front counter now gets very crowded. It was very hard to order and there seemed to be a lack of training for the cashier. She was obviously struggling but no one was helping. The other times I went i did drive thru which went by smooth. I gave there stars for their good food but their dine in wait times needs lots of help.

I went through the drive-thru and ordered a Family Feast. I always try to be patient and understanding, knowing how busy fast-food restaurants can get. The drive-thru cashier was extremely kind, patient, and helpful. He assisted me with my order, asked for my name, and even checked if I wanted chips and guacamole. Because he was so nice, I mentioned I wanted a side of chips since I like to enjoy my chips and salsa by itself. He made the experience much more pleasant. When I asked for extra salsas (4 red, 4 green, 3 pico), there was some confusion at the window. The manager told the cashier that I couldn’t get that many and that I’d need to purchase a large side tub of salsa for around $4.80, then limited me to 9 salsas total. The cashier still tried to help and added a few extra, which I really appreciated. That said, I’ve noticed a pattern with management at this location — they often come across as rude and seem more focused on limiting portions rather than keeping customers happy. It’s unfortunate because the food and the cashiers are great, but the management style can make it less enjoyable to come back. Overall, if the management were a bit friendlier and more flexible, this would easily be a 5-star experience. The cashier’s service, however, was excellent.

I ordered the new chicken avacado platter the tortilla broke a part but The worse of my visit was there were a lot of dirty tables and flies. But not only that a employee came out to the dining area and sat down on dirty table with food all over to have her lunch I could not believe that she did not wipe her own table... Wow!!

Slow service, employees didn't seem to be in a hurry to get the customers served quickly. The wait is usually long here. Not a very clean restaurant either, usually it is though. The cashier did upsell me to a meal and it was a good deal for it, only cost .79 more for what I was going to versus a meal.

I frequently eat at El Pollo Loco and will say my meal at this location does not in any way represent the quality I expect as at the other locations. The chicken skin was hard as a rock enough to crack my teeth and the meat was dry and tough as leather with no flavor. The flour tortillas were old and too tough to eat. The only reason I gave a 2 was because the rice and potatoes were the only thing good. A meal like this, 3pcs and 2 sides for over $10 with NO drink included should have been top notch.

Used to be great, been coming for years. Ate el pollo loco everyday for lunch while working in the area. New management serves you old chicken “nothing goes to waste” tactics. Last night the skin on my 3pc. Looked like it had been sitting around for hours. Also not a fan of the new tostada bowls. The old recipe is better.

I like Pollo Loco, but this one always get our order wrong, it's like they don't really pay attention to what you're saying while you're ordering. What makes it worse is the customer service... Bad customer service... Whenever they get the order wrong, they never own them (I know everyone is allowed to make mistakes, but you have to own your mistakes)... Here you don't get a "sorry about that", nothing, they make you feel like you're bothering them with their mistake. Zero friendliness. I keep going thinking, it was probably a bad day for them, maybe next time will be different, but it hasn't happened. Everytime we get a combo to go, they never put the chips that comes with it. Anyway, we just decided to drop the Modesto Pollo Loco and instead get Pollo Feliz here in Modesto, waaaaay better flavor (if you think you like Pollo loco, you need to try this one), at a better price and so far we have had good experiences there.

Service was slow through the drive thru. And when we finally got to the window, you see why, 3 workers just chitchating while 2 others were working. We ordered 2 different items with avocado & there was no avocado on our tacos or avocado chicken burrito. Next time we are in town (because we were visiting]) would definitely go to another El pollo loco location.

Went inside and it smelled like a sewer outside the door and at the counter. The soap dispenser in the bathroom wasn't working. The food is bad except the chicken is great and the other simpler dishes are ok. The salsa is good. This location provides soda water at the drink dispenser which I much prefer to sugary soda or chemical tasting diet soda.

Employees tend to act busy and rush the customers. No patience what so ever. And they are even rude when presenting a coupon and in numerous cases won't honor them. Don't let them do that. Plus your better off going inside to order. Management needs to retrain the Employees on customer service and being polite and patient.

My husband and I stopped by here this morning and ordered avocado double chicken salads paid almost $27 at that. So we get home and just to be disappointed in our order our bowls looked like single chicken salads we had no chips in our bag again and the last few times we have been here we had a problem in our order I understand places get busy but it was barely a hour after opening it wasn’t busy at all then we’re going thru the drive thru to be told to park in the front to wait for our order which came out pretty quick so didn’t understand why we had to drive back around the building so it’s really frustrating cause we love the food and this is the closest one to us we drive 20 min to get here depending on traffic and to only get home and notice our order isn’t right I think we are going to stop eating here

Me & my family visited pollo loco back in July of 2022 where we all got different plates. My youngest is one years old, my middle child is 6 & oldest is 8. My family contracted the Campylobacter bacteria from the restaurants raw poultry they served us. A month later a friend visits and receives a whole nacho plate with pink slimy, veiny chicken. BE VERY AWARE AND CHECK YOUR POULTRY the bacteria left my family in weeks of pain and constant bathroom uses. We all lost a lot of weight and we ended up very dehydrated. Antibiotic therapy was needed to pass the bacteria it did not just go away on its own. Pollo loco, you served us raw poultry but what bothers me more is that a month later your still feeding our community raw food! Some children & elderly are not strong enough to take on this bacteria. It’ll be a matter of time before you guys infect a weakened immune system person who will unfortunately not be able to handle the bacteria due to the stress of dehydration and diarrhea.

My fiance and I got food poisoning from this location... our symptoms have been feeling bloated, stomach pain and diarrhea. Please be careful and keep an eye on food poisoning systoms. We will avoid this location next time around.

Bad customer service, apparently there was an electricity service blackout which I understand however to make a customer wait 40 minutes plus when it's like more than 80°F just to tell them you only accept cash, there's multiple ways to avoid this by simply putting a poster that says we only accept cash currently. Yet, they couldn't even do that. The manager's excuse was that they didn't have enough employees. This wasn't even said by the manager but by a worker when I had asked to speak to the Manger.

I ordered a dbl beef tostada (since they said they had no chicken breast) and received one without any beef and the churros had no cinnamon sugar on them, the chicken portions in their two person meal deal was meager and barely enough to feed my little dog let alone two adults. Their salads are just some loose lettuce and a tiny sprinkle of cheese....nothing else. They also had no pico de gallo. They've really gone downhill...

The night shift crew are incredibly incompetent and illiterate. I had a coupon for a free 2 piece chicken meal and they started saying that I had to buy something from the menu with equal or more value. Bear in mind that is not what the coupon said, so I had to put the manager in his place. The manager lacks communication skills and I'm not even sure how he became a manager if he can't read or speak English?

This the worst EL Pollo Loco I've ever been too the crew prioritized the drive thru even thou your food is already plated it will just sit in there and skip your plates and keep attending to the drive thru tonight I try to eat there again but somehow whoever is this Manager keep asking this customer about his deal discount in a rude way so they just keep going back and Fort for almost 20mins. Poor customer he was getting embarrassed right infront of all the people waiting in line. Will never step in to this restaurant again you need to train your people who ever own this place terrible. By the way I walk out cant stand the way the this manager or Supervisor treated this customer in the counter.This happened between 630pm to 7pm 12-06-19

I can’t go here anymore. There needs to be more food safety inspections at this location or more hand washing. Whenever I get an upset stomach I have to ask myself if I had Pollo Loco at Plaza Pkwy that day, the answer is YES.

Staff at this Location needs to be retrained starting with Management. This location apparently lacks good management. All Employees dont seem to fully know what they are doing. The Quality of the food has become mediocre. 3 times proven in the last month. AND PLEASE LABEL YOUR BURRITOS.

It felt like she immediately hated me for some reason and even though I tried smiling at her she was rude the whole time. THEN my dad wanted more tortillas so I had to order more after not getting our tortillas after 10 minutes my mom had to ask for a refund AND the manager didn't even apologize that.

I had a horrible first experience getting food delivered from here for Mother’s Day. My order arrived and I was given a small Guacamole instead of the large I paid for and my Rice and beans in the family meal I ordered were also the wrong size. The White cheese sauce I ordered from their menu was nowhere to be found they must have been at the Restaurant with my salad dressing for our family size salad that was only a loco Sid salad, no salsa, no napkins,no utensils and only one plate?????????? I tried calling and no one answered the phone 🥺🥺🥺🥺

Came here with my boyfriend and had a disappointing experience. He ordered a BRC burrito and paid extra for chicken, but it was mostly rice and beans with barely any chicken. My creamy cilantro sauce was also forgotten, and when we drove back to get it, the employee gave me attitude and insisted it should’ve already been in my bag. If it was, I wouldn’t have come back. I’m pregnant, so being hungry and having to drive back just to receive attitude was really frustrating. I just wanted my sauce. I’ve been to other Pollo Loco locations and always had good experiences, so this location definitely threw me off. Mistakes happen, but customer service here needs improvement.

If I could give negative stars, I absolutely would! Avoid this location in MODESTO, Ca at all costs. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS COMPLETELY NONEXISTENT! After traveling for four hours, I stopped here just to grab a quick snack and drink. I really needed to use the restroom first, but the employee told me I had to purchase something before I could use it. I could barely think about food because I was so desperate to use the restroom! When I finally got inside, it was absolutely disgusting—no seat covers, the toilet paper dispenser didn’t even work, and the entire area was filthy. Mind you, I don’t look homeless or like I was planning to shower in their sink. What could have been a simple stop at one of my favorite restaurants (where I easily would’ve spent around $20) ended with me spending the last $4 I’ll ever give this establishment. I’ve never in my life been told I had to buy something just to use a restroom, and I hope I never experience that again. I will never step foot in an El Pollo Loco again.

I ordered basically almost a family meal. Tell me why I asked for 5 red sauces and 12 salsas frescas (pico) and the manager on July 14th at 8pm denies me of that. The lady at the register says because her manager says so I can’t have the sauces I use to enjoy my food… for my bowl alone I use about 8-10 picos because I love it. I tell them I don’t want the green salsas don’t waste time Ben giving me that one bc I don’t eat it give me the sauces I actually eat and they say no. I asked for a refund since they wouldn’t let me enjoy my food the way I wanted. How simple is it to just give me the sauces I like when I order one bowl alone they give me 5 picos and 2 red sauces … sooo when I order TWO bowls and a kids meal I get the same amount… that makes no sense. For all this food and only 6 picos yall need to revise your salsa distribution policy because the one on Oakdale didn’t deny me of the salsas I wanted so I could enjoy my food what a joke…

This is the worst fast food restaurant experience ever. I walked in and instantly I noticed how sticky the floor was. It was filthy. My family and I ordered food and went to find a seat but all were dirty so we had to ask an employee if they could clean a table for us. Then the wait for the food was very long. I even noticed that an employee wasn't wearing their mask correctly. He had it under his nose. Eventually we received our food but they told us they ran out of plates. I even had to go back to ask for spoons/forks. Not to mention the rice wasn't very good. The only plus was the chicken. I've been here before and I didn't enjoy it very much so I decided to come again after a while to give it a second try. I was disappointed.

No matter to what Location we go, we ALWAYS have an issue! This time it was the insane wait time for one order of the 3 Al carbon taco combo. And worse of all they ran out of lids! So I got my drink with a bag and a rubber band on top instead of a lid! I have never seen this so I just said Okay, and took it. I should have asked for another bag at the bottom, but I wasn't thinking straight, since they took so long with my order and I was in a hurry. Well, the darn cup was spilling the whole way! No matter how many napkins I used, My jeans got soaked and my seat too!
