Great Breakfast burritos with a lovely seating area outside. Nice staff as well. Conveniently located next to Monterey Plaza and Cannery Row.
Great place for quick service and a great sandwich. I was staying at the Holiday Inn and looking for a quick bite to eat. This place did not disappoint. I’ll be back again before we leave town.
Hidden gem along the walking and bike path, the breakfast burrito is incredible, the shaded patio is incredibly cozy and homey, we will be regulars here.
This place is amazing and the gentlemen that work there were really helpful, the food is delicious and is only a few steps from a beautiful view of the ocean! Btw!! White chocolate and chai latte is a total game changer 👌🏼
Best costumer attention, very welcoming and cozy. The specials are truly Mexican food and they have a wide variety of products to eat! I love this place!
Such a cute little place. Had the chorizo burrito, it was great. Their hot sauce/salsa had perfect amount of spice and flavor
It's our tradition to eat breakfast here everytime we go to Monterey! Great breakfast burritos and their bagel sandiches are amazing!
Fantastic, delicious, fresh, cheap!
Perfect location. Walking distance from the hotel. Lots of trees to look at :) the people are nice and the food was amazing!! 10/10
Incredibly charming, exceptional service, delicious breakfast including the best blended mocha I've ever tasted!
Food is good. Plenty of food and drinks to choose from. There is a minimum amount for using card. Plenty of seating. Good pricing
Friendly, clean and located right off the bike trail! A hidden gem, I love how much verity there is, everything I've had there is fresh and delicious!
Great little breakfast and lunch spot on the walking path. If you like to people watch and eat good food this is your place.
We were so lucky to find Cannery Row Deli. We were in Monterey over Labor Day weekend and waits at all the restaurants were 1 – 2 hours. We came here often for their breakfast burritos (yum) and sandwiches for lunch. Tasty healthy food, no wait. Recommend it highly.
Would be nice if they offered some tap water or something, the drinks are so expensive. However the breakfast egg bagel was so good I'm starving just thinking about it now. Would suggest.
They have good portions for the price. We got breakfast burritos (which were nice and hot), roast beef sandwich (which came with well toasted bread) and a reuben (which was deliciously prepared with saurkraut and melty swiss cheese). It's definite worth a visit for a quick meal. Food prep for 4 items was about 12 mins.
Oh all things good in the world are neatly tucked into these breakfast burritos. I don’t go anywhere else. I walk right past the tourists gathering down the street (suckers!) and grab one of Cannery Row Deli’s heavenly chorizo burritos with the veggies added in. This is the best best best I can’t express it enough.
Great lunch, 10 minute walk from Aquarium along the path. Worth the walk in good weather. We had sandwiches and kids ate hot dogs. Good prices, extremely nice service.
We stopped by this hole in the wall deli located behind the Thomas Kinkade Gallery. Wow, what a great experience. First, when most food is outrageously priced this place offers a sandwich and soda for $10. I ordered the Monterey Bay smoked salmon sandwich it was the best I have ever had. The salmon was several thick pieces with amazing flavor. Fresh cucumber and cream cheese spectacular on a sourdough roll. The service was fast. This is a small family run business. If you want to pay and experience local prices and hospitality stop here. All of the tourist types go to Bubba Gump, instead. You do have to be really skinny to get into the bathroom.
Excellent service and hospitality. Quaint little deli/Cafe to grab a burrito or a sandwich. Get there early if you want breakfast as Monterey crowds fast on the weekend with tourists.
Excellent breakfast burrito. Need to try the chilaquiles next time!
Lovely little family owned deli! Chicken melt was super delicious and everything was fresh and came as ordered. Owner and waiter were both super polite and friendly!
Awesome breakfast and coffee. Friendly family-owned deli. Quick walk from the Monterey Plaza Hotel and Spa. Would definitely come back if in the area again.
Really cool place with a patio for a great breakfast, portions were very large and low priced and they checked in with our table to make sure everything was going well.
Very cute deli; quaint, quiet, and comfortable. ate here twice and food was fast and delicious. Cost was good for what you get. Very eclectic and colorful indoor and outdoor seating.
Amazing food, probably the best latte I've ever had, and a very cozy and pleasant seating area. I would eat here every day if I lived in Monterey!
While staying at a hotel nearby, this was our go to breakfast spot! The food was yummy and affordable, the staff was super friendly, and we loved the cute patio seating area.
Awesome hot sandwiches, perfect for taking to the beach! Outdoor seating area is nice too.
Bagel with smoked salmon is delicious. A very healthy portion of salmon in sandwich is great. I also have had the smoked bacon & egg bagel sandwich, it's a very filling sandwich. They use large bagels and don't skimp in meat. The turkey sandwich on a baguette roll is huge too. Very very good food at a reasonable price. Good on the pocket book for the whole family. The service is good & helpful, prompt and food was cooked to order. I will be back again and again. Glad I found this place.
Quaint little deli with great food! Family of four. Youngest 6 yo, awesome grilled cheese. 13 yo, full caesar salad with chicken. DH smoked salmon sandwich on sourdough, yummy with cream cheese. I had the special which was authentic chicken enchiladas with rice, beans, and sour cream. All excellent! Great fuel for our bike adventure.
Great light Veggie Breakfast Burritos!!!! Super nice and FAST service. Also good coffee. Drip and espresso. Family owned. Don’t waste your time waiting in hotel coffee shop lines when you can walk another 20 feet to this great local spot.
Very good family run deli. Opens early, at 7 am, and they have very good breakfast items. Their lunch menu also has great choices and I love that they have a variety of salad options. They serve Carmel Valley Roasting Company brand coffee which is very good as well. Staff is always very friendly and helpful every time I go. Pricing is very reasonable compared to other restaurants in the area.
Nice hole in the wall place. We had breakfast and lunch. Food was good and no crowds. Prices are reasonable.
Was looking for quick and affordable breakfast. Definitely was worth every penny. Small and quirky this deli offered delicious coffee and food. I got the breakfast burrito with eggs, cheese, potatoes, and subbed the ham for avocado. It was exactly what I wanted, portion was great for price the burrito had a large amount of eggs which was nice as many other burritos are mostly potato this had a a more balanced one, I wanted a little more potatoes. I also got a soy mocha ( because I ordered the coffee first the cook came out and double checked that I indeed wanted cheese in my burrito, I found this very thoughtful).
If you like hole in the wall type restaurants with great authentic food, this is your place. I have breakfast burritos here every time I stay in Monterey.
Excellent breakfast after a run on Monterey Bay coastal trail. Enjoyed the egg and cheese bagels and waffles with fruit. Great service and friendly people. The food was very tasty and we enjoyed the ambience too .
Don't let the pictures fool you, this is a fantastic place for a breakfast burrito in monterey. This is a local down home joint where the guys are unbelievably friendly. The breakfast burrito is clean. You're going to feel like you went back in time to ecuador, or mexico, or small town america. Highly recommended.
Great little place! Friendly staff, cute atmosphere, and the best sandwich I had on my whole trip…:fresh sourdough bread, lots of chicken and veggies…:tasty bbq sauce. Super value for the price.
Tasty fresh clean food. Nice family ownership. Great location.
Such a cute stop on the coastal trail! The staff was very friendly, the breakfast burrito was amazing and the coffee as well!
Great place to start your day with a good breakfast, they have eggs, bagels, coffee and more. All served with a smile. Small place with cosy seating.
Small little place, staff is kind, food is good! My bagel was super delicious! Will be back
The prices are amazing for what you get! There was seating inside and outside, service was really fast and the food was delicious. Skip all the other places and just come here it's totally worth it 😁
I had chicken sandwich in here and coffee & smoothie. This is one of the best sandwich I had. Coffee was good as well. Smoothie was best with real fruits. Staffs were friendly. They have nice cozy outdoor and indoor sitting. They are closed at 3 pm so be mindful of that.
I visited this deli for lunch. It has a very warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff is friendly. My hot salami sandwich was one of the best I've ever had!
We stopped here for a snack before walking along Cannery Row. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was unique, and my kids had a fit over how far the cheese on their grilled cheese sandwich stretched. Their chai latte is my favorite I’ve had in Monterey so far. We will definitely be back again!
My wife introduced me to this cool little deli/sandwich shop. We head there after my eye exams and sit in the outside patio among the oak trees and enjoy our sandwiches. She loves the roast beef and I dig the BBQ chicken on a SD roll. Don't complain about prices.. if you can't afford it stay home
Awesome place, awesome service, awesome food. The breakfast burrito was delicious and its the best coffee I’ve had in Monterey. The people are the nicest and it feels like a mom and pop shop. The seating area is super cute and is kind of hidden which feels intimate for breakfast time. Our dog really enjoyed it too!
A hidden gem amongst long wait times at nearby breakfast spots. The food is delicious, on the less expensive side of Cannery Row food places, and the staff are super friendly!! Highly recommend the garden bagel & chipotle chicken breakfast burrito. The cafe mocha coffee hit the spot as well! The patio is gorgeous!
Pretty good small little deli with good prices. The sandwiches are fresh and the restaurant has a very homey/local feel to it. I got the Rueben and it was pretty good, I'd recommend. Also a Mexican squirt! Don't see those everyday. Service was pretty quick and they do uber eats. I ordered ahead and picked up with no issues.
This is a cool little restaurant. The outside patio area is very eclectic and has a lot of personal touches. The iced dirty chai was just sweet enough and really good. The mocha was heavy on the chocolate and delicious. We got the egg, ham and spinach bagel sandwich. The spinach and ham were cooked fresh in the eggs and not just placed on top. There are many other bagel sandwich options as well as breakfast burritos and traditional breakfast.
Garden bagel and breakfast burrito were so delicious we decided to come again the next day. The muffins are also very moist and rich. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very whimsical and eclectic and fits the seaside charm!
What a beautiful and fun place to eat. The service is amazing and the food is even better if that's possible.
This place has a few simple tables where you can have a quick lunch or late breakfast even on Labor Day weekend. The food was very authentic and inexpensive. Farmers omelet was very good and huevos rancheros stood next to it. The ambiance has a rustic feel as you can see in the pictures. This place saved us from hunger when wait times for brunch everywhere else in Monterrey were over an hour.
Really chill, locally owned place. Spinach and tofu salad was great. Tons of outdoor seating next to the bike trail so it’s quiet
Adorable deli with tasty sandwiches & salads. Perfect for a chill day in Cannery Row to watch the bikers and walkers in the walking path. The cutest dog friendly green space patio!
Fantastic Ruben sandwich, right on the bike, walking trail. Super find!
Small ,very cozy family - owned business. I love to stop for brunch here while traveling on a motorcycle to Monterey. Visited this place a few times during past years and the owner even recognized me , most likely by my moto equip and strong accent 😅 The Cannery Row Delicatessen is a fantastic spot for a delicious and authentic deli experience. Located in the heart of Monterey's historic Cannery Row, this deli offers a wide range of freshly prepared sandwiches and salads. My favorite is the salmon bagel 🥯 😋
Dog friendly, people friendly deli. Really appreciate kindness of staff in giving me dog bowl for water and it was a tasty sandwich!
From the trail, just look to your left, on the side of the hill, as you are going south! A total find!

Popped in in the morning for an Americano and an egg and cheese bagel. Food and coffee were good and staff was friendly!
Amazing breakfasts! Went there twice on our trip and tried the bagels and burritos. My sister liked the Garden Bagel so much she got it twice! My personal favorite was the ham breakfast burrito. The cost seemed competitive for local breakfasts and was definitely worth it. The dining areas, both indoor and outdoor, are comfortable and create a pleasant experience.
Stopped in today! Good sandwiches with many choices. Friendly and Helpful staff, Comfortable outdoor seating. Perfect location. Coffee and cookies are good too. Highly recommend.

Decent selection of sandwiches for reasonable price. We had two baguettes which was enough for 2 adults and 2 kids. Cost $20.
The food is good, and the decent service is a god-send in an area plagued by exceptionally bad service. It's right off the bike trail and the outdoor seating is nice.
I grabbed breakfast here, had a sausage egg and cheese on everything bagel. Service was quick and food tastes good at a good price
I hear from the most reliable sourses that it's really good here. I haven't been in a while but it's a nice place to stop in for a bite. Small and personal. A real "hole in the wall" kind of place. Fun and cute and convenient.
Good breakfast burrito at a good price. I haven’t tried them but I noticed a good selection of vegetarian options for my wife - Nothing super amazing, but good, convenient and reasonably priced.
Simple deli but Monterey Bay prices, mainly outdoor seating and limited indoor options. Street meter parking that wasn’t bad. Bathroom was out of service/employees only :(
It’s a great little small business. Use cash. Support local. I had a nice little salad and some garlic bread. Totally worth the stop.

A very small neighborly deli with good soups and sandwiches. Also good for breakfast as early as 8:00 am. On the bicycle path, walking distance to the Aquarium and Cannery Row.
Ate here twice, very close to the hotel. First day breakfast sandwiches and cream cheese bagel with cucumbers and tomatoes. Sandwiches were hearty and a large portion. Bagel with tomato and cucumbers, I generally prefer thinner slices of both but over all it was good. Next visit was a day or two later. I ordered a pastrami sandwich with light mayo, mustard and cheese and a breakfast sandwich for my wife and daughter to share. Also ordered hot chocolate for my daughter. Received food in stages. Person delivering seemed somewhat annoyed with I guess life? Any how all food came except my daughters hot cocoa. She went up to inquire about it and was given cup with "here, take it" comment. Additionally pastrami sandwich was slathered in mayo and mustard. So much so that the lettuce was super soggy. I ate most of it because well pastrami.....would probably return to give another chance next trip if I am being honest.
Great location. Decent prices. Mediocre food. Burnt coffee.
Owner-operated place. I tried the breakfast burrito. It falls apart while eating and tastes homemade rather than restaurant-style. The price feels high for the presentation, as it is served in a plastic chip bag. They brew espresso, and I actually liked the espresso. The burrito is edible and might be worth trying once.
Friendly staff and the food came out quickly. No frills experience, small area, and limited seating. Serving sizes were decent. Sandwiches were nice.

Went here last summer (2020) and had the reuben; it was great. Had wanted to return since then. Went today with my wife—she got the BBQ chicken sandwich and I got the chicken club. The chicken seemed like the grilled chicken strips you get from the grocery store refrigerated section and was extremely dry. The BBQ sandwich was essentially these strips with some BBQ sauce squirted on top. The chicken club didn't have enough mayo or mustard. We only ate half of each sandwich and threw the rest out. My wife even said that she preferred Subway. I'm not sure if this was a one-off or what, because the reuben I had previously was terrific. Maybe the breakfast is worthwhile, but I don't think we'll come back for sandwiches. That being said, very nice owner and reasonable prices for the area.
The food was relatively good. The prices were responsible. But I wish they would pay attention to cleaning the restaurant. The tables are full of dust and cobwebs everywhere. It was as if it was abandoned.
August 2011 - We were visiting Monterey and this place seemed to have a nice location and atmosphere. Well, that's about where the good comes to an end. Food was ok. I'd say a 3.5. Nothing special, but was good enough. My low rating comes mostly from their staff, which was somewhat unfriendly and apathetic. Their ordering system doesn't really make sense, either. They had signs up that said they include a bunch of condiments and toppings on ALL of their sandwiches. This just makes it confusing to order. Instead of just saying what you want on it (i.e, mayo, mustard, etc.) you have to figure out what you DON'T want. Again, confusing. Especially for first time customers. The employees taking our order seemed confused/distracted to top it off. Not surprisingly, they got our order wrong. Twice. We visit Monterey a few times a year, and I doubt we'll ever come back here. Mostly to the fault of their customer service.
Maybe I'm being critical as a local but for a deli I expected the meats to taste better but the only thing that tasted good on the sandwich was the sliced Sourdough bread. They list peppers as an option and that translated to banana peppers... not my thing so overall disappointed in spending money here.

I'd recommend checking your recipe after you pay as I found mine had a $5.00 unknown charge, when I asked the cashier "Ulices" about it I was given the money back immediately but no explanation. While we were waiting for our sandwiches to be made my daughter was drinking their complimentary waster they had out (which had a lid on it) and I noticed bugs floating in the water. I called a worker over and let him know he laughed about it. We took our food to go, once we sat to eat one of the sandwiches (being $9.00) had absolutely no meat on it. Just a bunch of veggies. I tried going back to the deli, a worker named Melissa refused to help me saying they were closed and the person who was inside disappeared upstairs which looked to be a house on top of the shop. We asked for a manager # and even the owners #. She refused and said they won't be there untill next Thursday.... 5 DAYS AWAY! Very bad business here!!
Salmon bagel was lacking (no lemon, capers, greens, etc). Coffee was burnt. And they have an ant infestation 😬. Staff were nice though.
I ordered a latte here and it was really poor quality. Really burnt flavor. It was also more expensive than coffee places nearby. Don’t get coffee here, complete waste of money!
Terrible!!! Don’t waste your time and get yelled at by the staff!!!!! We have been coming here for years use to be good service and good food. I explained that the couple we were with for some reason didn’t take there order. When I asked if they could order the owner yelled at me almost got physical. The heavy set Latina also was so incredibly rude and threw my bread at her on the table and said you can’t get anymore. We don’t like to give negative reviews but we have never been treated so bad Yes by the owner and staff.
