I can’t say enough about how incredible Diana is. A week before my wedding, my original dress was ruined in alterations and I ended up buying a lace dress off the rack at Anthropologie that needed major work fast. The fit was off, the cups were wrong, and the whole thing felt impossible on such a tight timeline. Diana took it on with so much care, calmness, and encouragement that I instantly trusted her. Her craftsmanship is unbelievable. She transformed the dress in less than a week and made it feel like it was meant for me. She even texted me early in the morning the day it was ready, knowing I was anxious and wanting me to be able to come in as soon as possible. The dress she touched became the dress I wanted to wear. I’ll be grateful to her forever.

Thread Theory came recommended to me from a friend - I had a dress I needed altered for an upcoming wedding event! Diana was very helpful in helping me decide what length to hem my dress. I wanted to be able to wear the dress with a heel but also flats, so she advised me on a perfect length! I came in with a simple request and the process was seamless and easy. Christina communicated clearly when the dress would be ready and shared with me the story of how she opened the shop with her mom, as her mom Diana is an extremely skilled seamstress! When I was in store, another customer came in with a more complicated beaded wedding dress alteration after another tailor in the area recommended Thread Theory to her!! Love supporting a family business, they were both so friendly and you can really tell how seriously they take their work here. The store is super cute and clean too!

Brought my boyfriend here last minute because we discovered his dress pants for a wedding the following weekend were wayyyyy too tight around waist and thighs. We weren’t sure if they could be saved (he could barely button them) but thankfully we found thread theory and Diana worked some magic (before and after pics attached) She managed to let the pants out just enough for a comfortable fit without compromising the look. The tailor at Thread Theory is amazing! I came for a walk-in, and wanted the sleeves length of my jacket shortened to my wrists. It's a special jacket to me and I wanted it to look more fitted. I was BEAMING at how well it fitted on me! The stitching even matched the jacket's color! I wouldn't have minded if it didn't, so the extra detail was really neat. I plan to come back here again soon. Thank you! edit: The store inside is also really cool. It felt like a room out of Howl's Moving Castle. 10/10 experience

I recently visited Thread Theory with two silk dresses, each needing a specific alteration. One dress required a complete neck redesign, and the other needed its armholes re-tailored. Diana was incredibly patient and attentive during the trial. She guided me through trying on both dresses, offering suggestions for alterations that would work for each garment. I I paid before my way out and received a pick-up date for my finished dresses. On the promised day, I received a text confirming my dresses were ready. When I went to pick them up, I was absolutely stunned by the quality of Diana's work. The alterations themselves were executed with incredible finesse. What I thought would be complex changes looked seamless. She even managed to quickly take in one of the dresses while I waited, a testament to her efficiency and skill. Diana is truly brilliant at what she does. I've already decided she's my go-to for all future alterations and can't wait to bring her a "bazillion" more items!

Diana was kind and clear during the check out process, and prices were very reasonable. Less than a week later, Diana texted that the items were ready. When I went to pick up, Diana and her daughter Christina were both so friendly! They let me try on the dresses to confirm the fit—both were tailored to absolute perfection. Diana fixed the backpack perfectly as well, and she had reinforced the other strap just in case, free of charge! If I could give 6 stars, I would! I am so excited to have a go-to tailor in Mountain View and I would recommend to anyone!

Extremely glad that I went to Thread Theory to get my jeans altered! Being that the jeans were raw denim I know it can be a bit more difficult to work with. The waist was a bit too tight for me and I needed the length to be shortened as well. Everyone is super sweet and the turnaround time was unbelievably short! The location is extremely easy to get to with plenty of parking and near the Cal train station as well. Definitely coming back for all my alteration needs in the near future!
