Got there early for the drink specials and ended up staying for hours . Great staff . Nice people . Pool tables and Sports on the multiple TV'S . In a pretentious City , there are still some places that remain grounded and welcoming . BARFLY is one .

Came here after work and it did NOT disappoint! Great barbeque wings - so tender, juicy and flavorful! Wayyyy better than TGI Fridays or Applebee's etc. I also got the brownie sundae and it was delicious! Super friendly staff, too!

Classic neighborhood bar. Lots of bar space and tables for seating. TVs playing various games around the bar (you can request channels). Pool table in the back (and the location of some pool tournaments). Louise the bartender is a hoot! Great service and very personable!

Amazing bar to go to if you love delicious food as well as a pool table. I recommend the buffalo chicken sandwich. I get it every time I go. The pool table is in really good condition compared to other bars around the area. The place overall has a really cozy laid-back vibe to it.

I happened upon Barfly accidentally and it must have been kismet because I cannot recommend this establishment enough! Excellent customer service, lovely female owner, great food menu and incredible cocktails — even homemade sangria! They have many TVs showing all kinds of sports and I was able to watch the Olympics with the commentary on. The vibe is friendly, casual and homey. They apparently have a patio for spring/summer too, which I look forward to checking out later on when it’s warmer. Absolutely recommend this bar to anyone looking for a good meal or drink (or both) while watching sports.

We decided to pop in to get a quick (cheap) drink before heading home after dinner. I was about to go to a different bar, but I saw that BarFly had a happy hour menu that included $8 well drinks and $12 cocktails. I was sold. The customer service was great and they also played sports, they have a pool table, and the place wasn't crowded or noisy! I will definitely pop back in whenever I'm on the area! The prices are great, I have to check out their food options and report back!

It has been a while since I had have a decent or good experience at Barfly. Honestly I thought this place wouldn't be around for much longer. Nevertheless I decided to stop by for old time sake. I Sat outside and had waited some time to get some service. However Anthony had apologize and made sure I was taken care of from there forward. Food was actually quite tasty, compare from pervious. My compliments to the chef, great job and attitude Anthony! Will definitely be going back.

This is a low key cool sports bat with a pool table in the back. Everything here was satisfactory, except for the service... THAT WAS FANTASTIC. The service was attentive, friendly and behind efficient. If you're in the neighborhood grab a quick drink or 2.

Our sever was absolutely amazing! We didn’t catch his name but he was so kind and attentive to our group during our lunch. We found this place when another restaurant didn’t open at their posted time and we were too hungry to wait around & let me say we are so glad we found Barfly! Their food was absolutely amazing and we will be craving it back home in the midwest :)

Just had frozen drinks (small size) in the outside seating area but they were very good and service was lovely. Prices a little high for small drinks. But price for food seemed reasonable.

This place was much better when Mike Z was working the bar but it's still a pretty decent spot for twenty somethings to come and hang out. They love their pool here and the drinks are reasonably prices. Food is meh but it will keep you from getting too drunk. Good tunes on the jukebox too.

Barfly's nice, comfortable vibe, good drinks, and reasonably priced food makes it our team's go-to spot for post-volleyball food and brews. They have a long bar with ample counter space, as well as booths for those who'd prefer to sit, but the area we frequent the most is the "perched up" area at the front. Raised up a bit from the rest of the floor, and partially "fenced in," the front section has plenty of stools and additional standing space. Regular priced pitchers run either $15, $18, or $22, depending on what beer they're pouring. We stuck with Brooklyn Pumpkin Ales, getting four nice pours from each $18 pitcher. We've ordered wings, chicken skewers, curly fries, and an assortment of sandwiches during our visits, and, while the food may not be spectacular, everything's made well, and priced fairly. The bartenders here are awesome and very attentive to patrons regardless of where they're sitting along the bar. Topping off the experience, we're always treated to a playlist of 90's alternative/grunge/pop jams...appreciated by all of us! Overall, Barfly is a nice dive-y place to catch sports and not worry about being sweaty after some intense volleyball games...Just don't sit too close to us :)

Nice neighborhood dive bar / sports bar. Staff is hot and cold. Pool table is poorly maintained. Food is surprisingly good. Can get very loud and crowded on game nights.

I came here for happy hour with a couple of college friends. This is a no frills bar with plenty of TVs airing sports. They even had UFC on FOX. We shared nachos and the beef empandas. I had a couples of Guinness. Guinness was doing a promotion here when I was there. I was able to get a free engraved Guinness glass but I gave to one of my friend. So, actually she got 2 glasses. This is a good place for a simple happy hour just don't expect anything extravagant here. Our waitress was very attentive and checked up on us often. The place is very noisy and loud so it might be difficult to have a good conversation there.

This is the place to be for football, or during March Madness. Anytime you want to watch multiple games at the same time, you don't have a much better option than Barfly. The Food is excellent, the Drinks are a bit pricey. But, for the area, you can't beat this joint.

Yummy food and cheap happy hour. Watch out for the boys playing pool or you might get impaled running to the washroom. All in all, super causal but will exceed your expectations.

This place was ok as far as I saw. Service was good, knew how to pour a Guinness right and well. There are plenty of TVs to watch w/e game you want, and there is a Pool table you can sign up for to play. Didn't eat here so can't comment on that. Enjoy

Nice bar with pretty good food. We generally go here around happy hour time and stay a few hours. The happy hour specials are nothing special but I'll take whatever I can get. The food is pretty good to really good my last time there I had the fish tacos which were great. It does get crowded but I've never be there when the crowd affects the service. they have a decent beer selection and a few cider choices as well.

the tv to space ratio is great! was worried they wouldn’t be able to accommodate a suggestion for a noon college football game but was completely wrong. bartenders were not only attentive to channel suggestions but beer as well. do yourself a major favor and get the fries! no picture because we immediately devoured them.

Barfly is a solid spot if you're looking for a casual bar in a good location. It has plenty of seating, which is great, and there’s no shortage of screens to catch a game. The addition of a pool table adds a fun touch if you're with friends. The vibe could be a bit more lively, but it’s still a comfortable and laid-back place to hang out. Service is quick and attentive, making things easy. Plus, they stay open late, which is a big plus in the area. Overall, a nice place for a low-key night out!

Went with my friend after a game. We had a female bartender who was very rude. She was wearing a green skirt and was very aggressive when I ordered. When I asked her questions she seemed surprised and passive aggressive.

I'm not sure if it's the bartenders fault or the owners fault but here's the deal. If you scan the barcode and or check the website for drinks specials, the bartenders do not honor the prices promoted. They claim the prices are wrong in the website and barcode and state their price. For a neighborhood bar with a friendly vibe, the bartenders price for drinks are more in line with a cheek upscale cocktail bar. Instead of $8 for a Narragansett and we'll shot (which is the special) it's $12. Well drinks are 8. Well shots are $6. The cocktails they promo at the tables and bar range from $10 up. There's and $8 Patron drink but don't both asking they don't have it. Well not for $8. The food is good ranging from $12 and up. Not cheap but if you don't mind the price the food is yummy. They have a pool table which is fun. The bathrooms are clean. And even when it's busy the bartenders get the drinks out so there's barely a wait time. ( They work hard ). Barfly needs to fix their price system because it draws people in and then it's a shock and a money grab for them (barfly) when we (the customers) are stuck paying more.

Not a good place to go for Pool because most weeknights they'll have some league occupying the table and there's no way to know if the pool table will be available or not

On 7/22/2021 myself and two friends visited Barry at the 3rd Avenue and 20st street location. We asked If there is space for 3 to be seated outside. Camel (sorry if I misspelled his name) sat us down in the outdoor dining area. We were waiting and we see a female waiter by the name of Louise cleaning up the other tables. We asked her "hi, we are ready to order" she proceeds to answer "now it is only bar orders" and proceeds to re-enter the bar. We were confused because no one informed us of anything and we were not yet attended to. We then go place the order inside the bar with this same waitress. Camel proceeds to go outside and a new group of customers come in and sit beside us. The customer asks Camel "hey do we have to order inside ?" Camel responds to the customer "No" . At this moment we realized that we were treated unfairly. we decided to speak to Camel and he stated that to order is either from the table or at the bar. We explained our discomfort with this waiter . I would not recommend anyone to go here. This is the worst service I've had in a while. We felt discriminated against especially because majority of the customers are white.

It’s a local dive. Nothing unusual. Daily specials ($15) are tiny portions and the beer is flat so there’s that. I guess it’s great if you’re a local otherwise spend some more and go elsewhere. It’s dark, dingy and ordinary unless you like sports on TV and are OK with low quality drinks and food.

Well, won't be going back there. Waitress was beyond rude- we had a group of 10 or so at a big table. She was nowhere to be found- which is surprising because of the size of the place. After ten minute gaps, people would just go to the bar and get their own drinks. She proceeded to try and scold me for their behavior, saying I was taking money from her pockets. Then they charged my card, after saying I would pay cash AND taking said cash.

Left my jacket there at 6pm on a Friday evening. Called the next day they had it and said they would keep it for me. Went back after work on the Monday to get it and apparently it’s nowhere to be seen so I’m assuming one of the staff is wearing it this winter?

Music is way too loud and they don’t listen when you repeatedly ask for them to turn it down.

Bartender with an Irish accent working 9pm on 9/2 accused me of having a fake, threatened to take away my NY state ID that I use every single day and proceeded to kick me out, not worth the headache. Go somewhere with better hospitality. It also smelt pretty bad. I asked him to scan it, he refused. Definitely just lazy and awful at heart. If you look at other reviews I’m not the only person who has had this problem.

I went there on labor day, and an Irish bartender said my ID was fake, then proceeded to bend it back and forth, which nearly broke it. I am 22 years old and I understand the suspicion, but it was my real ID from the state of Texas, however if he would've broken it, I would've gotten the police involved for the vandalism of my property. He's lucky it didn't snap, which seemed to be his goal the way he was bending it back and forth. I asked for it back several times and said I would leave, but he insisted that it was fake and that he was going to confiscate it. He was definitely overly intoxicated and looking for a fight, and he's lucky he didn't find one, because after his assault of my government issued property, physical retribution seemed like a valid option. It seemed his goal was to cause some kind of altercation, and I can't in good conscious recommend a bar to anyone where the bartender is actively seeking conflict from the patrons. I've seen several recent reviews that correlate with my own experience, and I can only hope that the owner recognizes them and removes this person from his current position; especially because the bar was empty and seemed like it could use some more people willing to spend a buck on drinks. Terrible experience and all I can say is that I genuinely hope that the Irish bartender gets some help, because he was absolutely sloshed on the job.

I guess the food was fine. The bartender has a calling somewhere other than service. New York’s next custodian I’d hope. He was incredibly rude to my group - I watched him yell at a girl who knocked over her drink for making a mess. Such a 🚩to watch a man yell at a woman he doesn’t even know. It says a lot about how he treats the women in his own life. Also way too crowded just not worth it.

Bartender who said his name was Niall (Irish dude with a beard and a black eye) denied me and a friend who both offered him our REAL IDS AND ARE BOTH 21? And he said "well you could go to any bar around here why choose this one is this reeallyy your favorite bar?" Like straight up mocking us? We even said "Ok scan it then, do you have a scanner?" And he was like, yep but not gonna scan them. Also he was def just drunk and didn't wanna make drinks. Like what kind of bartender just denies based on pure vibes alone. Never going back byeeeee. Also what kind of bar closes at midnight . Don't go here man just don't.

Your bartender Luis, recognized me from years ago, brought up his ex and got hostile and tried to fight my friends. He also found my instagram and sent me harassing messages and I can provide it. Please let him go. Several other bar goers left with me when he started trying to put his hands on me and then tried to fight my friends. The bartender asking people to step aside to square up is not weird ? Please do something about this. We love barfly, but he is so hostile.

Disappointing Experience with Pulsd Voucher I came to Barfly with a Pulsd voucher, and the response from the waitress was simply, “We don’t take that.” No explanation, no attempt to help — just a dismissive attitude. I've used Pulsd at many NYC restaurants and this was the first time I encountered this kind of response. When I asked what I was supposed to do since we had already paid for the voucher, she just said, “Call them… a lot of people have come with that and we don’t take it.” If multiple customers are showing up with the same issue, why hasn’t management addressed this? Either coordinate with Pulsd or make it very clear on all platforms that vouchers won’t be accepted. This lack of communication and poor customer service made for a really disappointing experience. I won’t be returning.
