Outstanding all around without the weight of a Michelin recognized restaurant (yet, it is one!). Very kind service by Gio, delicate and ample dishes all around (do the ceviche tasting!), and very inviting, soft tropical ambiance. Highly recommend for intimate dates, special occasions and memorable gatherings.
I was missing Peruvian food a lot and was hoping to find an authentic spot in New York. This is it— mission ceviche has the most authentic ceviche I’ve tasted outside of Lima. The fish is fresh and tender not fishy at all and the lime juice with the onion adds a layer of refreshing flavor. I also loved the corn and sweet potato: truly exactly the same as the ones I had in Peru. Their lomo saltado is also amazing as it is cooked to perfection: not too old and very tender. The octopus was also delicious paired with crispy potatoes. Their staff is also fantastic they gave us chicha morada for my friends birthday. Wonderful experience overall!
Genuinely deserves all the hype it gets. Lovely service- from our waiter to the busboys, everyone was very nice and accommodating. A nice outdoor set up- good ventilation while still covered, and you’re not on top of the next table. The food: the lunch prix fix is an unbelievable deal- 35 bucks for an appetizer, main, and dessert? Can’t be beat. I strayed a bit to try other dishes though. The ceviche is incredible- probably the best I’ve had in the country. Unless you’re a huge octopus/shrimp lover I’d skip the seafood mixto and just get the classic. The classic ceviche is hands down amazing (the added stuff is good too, but not groundbreaking). Though to be fair you get the aji Amarillo sauce with the seafood mixto- and that might be what you’re looking for. The fish of the day was mahi mahi- lovely, fresh, well prepared. There’s not much you can do to mahi mahi if you cook it well. The grilled octopus was great- really well prepared with a wonderful sauce. And a deceptively huge portion. The sushi roll were alright (very good sauce though)- but that’s not the point of this place. Finally, dessert was the cherimoya mousse- and I was obsessed. Perfectly balanced sour and sweet- a hint of salt- super refreshing and a wonderful end to the meal. I’m not a drinker- but I heard their cocktails and wine were also nice (and they have some mocktails- I had the basil breeze, it was…ok. A bit bland and watery to be fair)
We recently had the absolute pleasure of dining at Mission Ceviche for lunch, and it was an experience that exceeded all expectations! This restaurant is truly a gem, offering a vibrant atmosphere, incredible food, and, most importantly, stellar service by our server GIO. It was recommended to us by a chef at Andaz Costa Rico who had visited NYC and told us it was his favorite restaurant! For starters, we shared the OCTOPUS ANTICUCHERO, and it was simply divine. The octopus was perfectly tender, smoky, and seasoned with a depth of flavor that was truly outstanding. It was the perfect appetizer to get our taste buds going. For the entree, we enjoyed the TALLARÍN SALTADO, which was executed flawlessly. The noodles were cooked just right, and the combination of tender meat, fresh vegetables, and savory sauce was incredibly satisfying and authentic. Everything tasted fresh and beautifully prepared. And let's not forget the drinks! They were very good—expertly crafted, refreshing, and the perfect complement to the rich flavors of the Peruvian cuisine. It is now one of our favorite restaurants!
I am an extremely happy woman after leaving here tonight. The 3 ceviches we had were absolutely amazing. EVERYTHING we had was amazing. The tres leches cake topped it all. Luis, the bartender gave the BEST service and is SO friendly. I will be coming back here regularly for sure!!!!
We got the Chef’s tasting menu and it was amazing, like a whole new experience thats gives you a little taste of the different flavors in the house. 1. Spicy ceviche, mix it all to taste the flavors 2. Sweet and sour ceviche which will calm down the spice getting you ready for the next, fish itself is preety blend tho 3. Shrimp tempura is as delicious it can get, wow 10/10 4. Lomo saltado has great soft and juicy steak, served with a side of rice, delicious overall 5. The “choclo con queso” dessert was delicious as well Service was great and attentive, server explained well and answered all the questions we had about the menu! Chicha morada, pilsen beer and maracuya sour were great drinks as well making this an amazing anniversary dinner.
This Establishment has been on my bucket list since its grand opening. Unfortunately was not able to find till recently but all I can say is that is was so worth the wait. Came during opening hours so I was able to get the full experience without the crowd. I’ve been eyeing the menu for so long I knew exactly what I wanted. We ordered the oysters. They were the best oysters Ive ever had. The flavor is exceptional it completely opens your pallet. It left of stunned that’s how good it was. Then we wanted a few selections of Cevichi we had the classic and the Nikkei and the Roll Antituchero. That roll can with a table side torching which was incredibly to see. The Nikkei was my favorite the crunch factor gave it a great texture. The roll melted in your mouth it was the best thing i ate in 2024. We also ordered another round of oysters before we left. Yes the bill will get pricey but you’re paying for the quality of the food and it’s worth every penny.
They hosted us for an engagement dinner party of 16 on Valentine’s Day and we could have not chosen a better place. From the ambience, the service, the food and drinks and the staff were amazing! We had such a delicious dinner and everyone was full at the end. My friend’s special night ended with a beautiful dinner here and we can’t wait to go back to eat here soon. They also have the best Maracuya Sour I’ve had!!
Brandon at the bar helped make this a perfect experience. The classic ceviche on the appetizer menu was wow! So good! Flavorful, great variance of textures! ❤️🥰 My friend had the fish sandwich and truffle fries. The sandwich was very good, fries also good, but not much truffle flavor. I decided to go traditional with the drink, Pisco Sour, made to perfection! Light, citrus, classic! Brandon hand crafted a sangria for my friend. (*never done this on a review, however seems necessary… so side-note to ladies, if you meet a decent-looking short guy named Carlos there who’s Colombian, RUN!)
Sunday dinner turned into a fantastic surprise! We chose Peruvian food. What we found was a beautiful blend of Japanese and Chinese inspired blends with traditional Peruvian flavors that were both unexpected and amazing. Our service was great from the moment we walked in the door. Daya took great care of us. And if you are pondering dessert, you must try the sweet corn brulee! Put this place on your list if you have been there yet.
Not only was the food fantastic, but the restaurant itself was beautifully designed. From beginning to end, it was more than just a meal—it was an experience. The flavors were expertly blended and layered, creating a delightful taste sensations!. The mix of sweet and savory was simply wonderful!
I wrote one of the very first reviews for Mission Ceviche on another ‘popular’ restaurant app over 4+ years ago. It’s still here and I’m still a regular customer. Yes, it’s a little pricey – but it’s a complete night out! The exceptional Peruvian cuisine, the front bar & wait staff are great. The music selection immediately puts me in a party mood. Here are some recent menu recommendations. Enjoy !!!
Food was amazing. We had the red snapper, it was huuuuge and delicious. The green fried plantains were hot, a little under salt but good, my pisco sour drink was great, and my friend passion fruit mojitos was delicious and refreshing. Our server Daya was attentive, great help in navigating the menu, and the other staff were overall friendly. I’d definitely come back and bring more friend to experience this place, I highly recommend Mission Ceviche:)
The food was amazing, and the service, Impeccable. The tres leches is the best I’ve had. The lomo salteado, amazing and the ceviche was top notch. It was my bday and they really made it a special day!
Extraordinary 2 star Michelin i bring my best friend from Boston and my son, it was a beautyfull and fun experience, thanks to the special unique server called Richard, he guide us and just her introduction about the dishes was fantastic making our mouth melts tempting us Good job! Is a super nice experience you never regret is a little expensive but totally worthy. Is Art.
I’ve been wanting to come here for years and haven’t had the chance until now. The food and service were amazing. I did the chef’s experience which was delicious. The ceviche, lomo saltado, and dessert of choclo con queso was so good. The cocktails pisco sour and chilcano were also great. It was my birthday and they brought me two shots with a sparkler. Our server, Daya, was attentive and kind. Just an overall great experience tonight and I will come back.
Lovely place. Went to Union Square location for Happy Hour and my friend and I had a great time - great bar service from Richard. Food was presented magnificently - the Roll Acevichado was unforgettable. Sad that there was no ceviche on the HH menu, but we were able to order a full dinner portion. Great prices for drinks. Very pro place.
I loved everything about this place. From food to the service. The dishes are small but we left the restaurant full and happy! I am not sea food person but I ordered fish and I loved it. My husband enjoyed his Ceviche as well. The desert was a cherry on the ice. We ordered two side dish and it was with fruit both of us. The waiter was genuinely friendly and smoothie it was a bit expensive but worth every penny!
Superb Peruvian food and atmosphere. I took my girlfriend but it’s great with friends too. I suggest the ceviche, lomo saltado and lima roll to share. Make sure to order a Pisco cocktail it’s native only to Peru. The general manager James and server Daya are the best!
Mission Ceviche opened my eyes to just how delicious ceviches can be. Not only were their ceviches perfect, but all the other dishes I tried demonstrated the chefs’ mastery of flavor. The inside of the restaurant was gorgeous, and the staff were so friendly, charismatic, and passionate about their menu. As of writing this review, Mission Ceviche is my favorite Peruvian restaurant and I can’t wait to come back again!
This location is amazing! Food was delicious and the ceviche was fresh and worth a try! The drinks are really good as well! Definitely recommend the Machu Pisco! On a busy night definitely expect a little bit of a wait when it comes to the food but the staff were so friendly and attentive and definitely kept you informed on your order! The Lomo Saltado was amazing and perfectly seasoned! Highly recommend for a date night or a special occasion. Would highly recommend having a reservation as it does seem to get full quick.
Brandon and Eduardo were very attentive, the atmosphere was very relaxed, I did not feel rushed at all. Christian the general manager was very welcoming and attentive as well. The food was to die for, deliciousness in every bite. Christian the general manager was very welcoming and made us feel like we were old friends.
Mission Ceviche offers a vibrant and refined take on Peruvian cuisine in the heart of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Their three-course lunch prix fixe menu at $45 is an excellent value given the exceptional quality and execution. The classic ceviche is impeccably fresh, with perfectly balanced citrus, spice, and seasoning that highlight the fish’s natural flavor. The pan-seared salmon, served with a light tomato salad, is cooked to perfection—delicate, flavorful, and well-composed. For dessert, the fresh berries with white chocolate mousse provide a clean and elegant finish to a well-paced meal. The restaurant blends innovation and charm with outstanding consistency. Highly recommended for both casual lunches and special outings.
The food itself was excellent—the ceviches were outstanding, and the pulpo was cooked perfectly. Our drinks were also great. However, it again took some time for the staff to notice that we had finished, and by then we were ready for the check. Honestly, we would have stayed for another round of drinks and more food if the service had been more attentive.
This is the ONE folks. If you are searching for an amazing dining experience, look no further. Whether you are a local or a tourist, your ig pics will glow, your loved one will be impressed and your tastebuds blessed! Without a doubt this place is one of my fave restaurants for the following reasons: 1) The flavor combos totally rock my world! I waited for months during the pandemic to try this place and it lived up to the hype and then some! 2) The staff is outstanding, every single time I come here, whether Im dolled up or I show up in more comfy clothes, I feel so welcomed. 3) The rotating menu, which evolves with the seasons but also because they listen to customers' feedback. I dont remember them having a tasting menu when I first visited, but later on I was able to try one. So i discovered new dishes! I do miss some dishes like the chaufa nigiri. I always ask for it. Please bring it back. 4) The drinks are so good! I love the Peruvian influence. It takes me back to the time my friend and I went to Peru. 5) As I write this review I am craving the food and drinks. 🤤🤤
One of the best Peruvian restaurants in the city! I’ve been coming here for years and it’s still my favorite. The pulpo ceviche and the ceviche nikkei are always incredible and a MUST. Also, delicious oysters! Mission Ceviche is always on my list of recommendations for anyone visiting NYC! Huge shoutout to our server Luis, he’s so friendly, attentive, and truly made the experience even better. Thank you Luis!!
This is a gem of a restaurant! My mom, sister and I went for lunch - the prix fixe was fabulous! Gio is a lovely and knowledgable server who takes the time to explain all of the ingredients in the dishes. We can't wait to come back.
The food and atmosphere were incredible, but the service truly stood out. We stopped in before an event and were in a rush. James welcomed us warmly, understood our time crunch, quickly noted our dietary restrictions, and gave great recommendations that fit our needs. His team was just as accommodating and efficient. The food was excellent, everything came out quickly, and we made it to our event right on time. Loved the experience and will definitely be back!!
I came here for dinner with my family. It's smaller and more intimate than their Union Square location but just as beautiful. I recommend making a reservation. Our reservation was at 7pm. It was busy but not overcrowded. The food was amazing. The service here was great. I wish I got our servers name because he was so sweet and very attentive. Highly recommend!
I loved Mission Ceviche is UES! Our server Luis was fantastic and super charismatic! They went above and beyond. The red snapper was amazingggg and so were their rolls. I recommend this one in UES!! (I’ve been to both locations)
We had a wonderful dinner. Our waitress Destiny provided an outstanding service and was always on top of our wishes, friendly and nice. Food and drinks arrived very promptly. We absolutely loved all the ceviche dishes, the broccolini side dish was amazing as well. A special thanks to the dessert chef: the tres leches cake was absolutely divine: very moist, lots of flavor, super delectable. The general manager Christian has a very special touch for treating guests with respect and warm attention. I highly recommend this restaurant for a nice meal and friendly service.
WOW this place is a gem! The food is amazing. You can taste the love and heart that's in the cooking and it's such a great vibe in there! Everyone is so warm and friendly and it feels like one big family dinner. Can't wait to go back. Love it!!!
Wow! Truly blown away by my visit here. It’s been on my list for so long and did not disappoint! The ceviche sampler was a wonderful way to try multiple dishes. Each one was more flavorful than the next. The short rib & risotto were also delicious and portioned perfectly to share. They also made a point to acknowledge the birthday note on the reservation and provided a sparkler! Over all 10/10 experience. Do yourself a favor and make yourself a reservation. You won’t regret it!
I came here for my birthday dinner, and it was such a lovely experience! Although the food took a little while to come out, it was absolutely worth the wait—everything was delicious, which is what truly matters. The service was excellent, with friendly and attentive staff who made the evening even better. What made it even more special was that the main chef and owner of the restaurant was there personally modifying dishes, adding a unique and thoughtful touch to the meal. Overall, it was a wonderful night, and I’d definitely come back
We visited this restaurant to try Peruvian cuisine, and it met our expectations. The sushi-like starters and the salads we tried were incredibly tasty — we didn’t even get the chance to take photos before they were gone! :) The seafood rice dish, similar to paella, was actually even more flavorful than any paella we’ve had before. Also, the passion fruit cocktail recommended by our waiter was absolutely worth trying!
I went to a Peruvian restaurant for the first time and while waiting for the food they brought something like roasted corn kernels, it was so tasty and addictive! I ordered a chicken Caesar salad and it was incredibly delicious. The chicken was so tender it melted in my mouth and the dressing was amazing. Definitely a place I’d go back to!
It’s been on my bucket list for quite some time now and finally made it. I always find Peruvian cuisine to be fascinating, blend of indigenous, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, African and European influences. All the dishes we ordered were well seasoned and balanced, vibrant, tasty and interesting. Can’t wait to go back!
After seeing this restaurant on IG, I knew I had the go. I had the Acevechado Roll it which was absolutely divine!! Then I had their tres leches which was good as well - a bit sweeter than I would like but still good. My server Daya was lovely as well. I already look forward to my next visit!
I had the lunch prix fixe menu and it's a relatively good deal. The seared salmon was really good, but my friend's ceviche tasted even better. The ceviche is fresh and flavorful and not over saturated with lime. The bronzino dish had really good sauce. The dessert might have been the highlight. The mousse was very good. My friend said he would have bought a bucket of it to take home if he could. There's layers of soft and hard with the mousse and the ice and layers of sweet and salty and a little bit of tart from the berries. The desert was complex and multi faceted. Amazing end to the meal
Mission Ceviche was such a cozy surprise! We weren’t super hungry, so we shared the Arroz con Mariscos — a Peruvian-style seafood risotto with Manchego cheese and heart of palm aioli — plus a sushi roll that beautifully blended Japanese and Peruvian flavors. It honestly felt like taking a bite out of two cultures having the best kind of love affair. The seafood risotto was comforting and rich like coming home to a warm meal after a cold, rainy day (which, to be fair, the rain outside totally helped set the mood hehe). However, the sour cream overwhelmed the nostalgic melting pot of flavours ;( Also, the staff were incredibly kind and attentive 🥹they let me sit at my table for an hour while I waited, which was so sweet. And okay… I have to say it. The servers or shall I call them Papicitos, were nice to look at 🤭 (I’m talking to you Luis! ;) )my server Daya was AMAZING. Kind, attentive, and very friendly!! Overall, Mission Ceviche is the perfect mix of warmth, flavor, and charm. A little taste of Peru with a New York twist. However, James, (certified Peruvian Papi) said the menu has changed by a little bit since he last came here. So keep that in mind but honestly, the other dishes seemed promising and tasty 😋 8/10
Dayana was knowledgeable about the menu which I loved since this was ms first Peruvian experience. The oyster are a MUST! the Branzino not only is plated beautifully but equally delicious. And Desert was ( the choco something )chefs kiss. 10/10 would recommend I willl definitely be back!
Great restaurant option for a date as it’s a very nice location with a good atmosphere. I first and foremost wanted to recognize how attentive and friendly our server Mathi and the staff were. Mathi was truly outstanding with his recommendations. In terms of the food, please do yourself a favor if you like seafood and order the market oysters as they’re extremely fresh and delicious. The jalea was also very good and fried just the right amount. If you’re Peruvian just like me, you might think the portion is small compared to other Peruvian restaurants but the quality definitely made it worth it for me. We also had the ceviche platter and although the other fusionend ceviches were also good the classic ceviche was delicious and so good, I would’ve gotten a second order of it if I would’ve had the stomach for it. Overall, great food, service, and atmosphere. Looking forward to going back in the future.
This is my second time coming to Mision Ceviche. I wanted to have a pleasant lunch with my partner and this restaurant just exceeded my expectations. We order the a ceviche Nikkei and a mix ceviche that was just amazing, no wonder why they have Michelin stars. The acevichado roll was a perfect mixed between Peruvian and Japanese food. I’m Peruvian and this food made me really happy because it’s hard to find a good restaurant that can accomplish the exact Peruvian taste. We had also the Machu Pichu and the grown up raspadillas drinks and they were really refreshing, the right amount of alcohol and also the Bartender Brandon made sure to make them look nice and tasty, they had a good balance of freshness and taste. But also a heads up for our server Gio that made sure that he has our food on time and with a nice smile server us the entire meal. We will definitely make this place our regular restaurant to have dinner or lunch. ❤️
I went with a couple of friends and we had an amazing experience. The chicharrón with bread was the best I have ever had, even better than what I tried in Peru. Then we ordered the lomo saltado and it was incredible, super tender and full of flavor. We finished with lúcuma ice cream which is so hard to find outside Peru and it was delicious. The only thing that could be improved is the chicha morada. The décor is beautiful, everything feels very well done, and the service was great. Highly recommend it.
My husband and I decided to have dinner at Mission Ceviche as part of our anniversary celebration and it did not disappoint one bit! The service and attention to detail was top tier, every single member of the team was incredibly welcoming, helpful and outstanding. The food truly was out of this world! The best lomo I have ever had, my husband said his ceviche was the best he’s had too! The apps, sides and drinks were also phenomenal. And the tres leches of course was sooo good. I highly recommend Mission Ceviche!! We look forward to celebrating more milestones at Mission Ceviche!
Mission Ceviche absolutely blew me away. The food was nothing short of incredible—every single dish we tried was phenomenal. From the freshness of the ingredients to the bold, vibrant flavors, everything felt thoughtfully crafted and truly memorable. A huge part of our great experience was our server, Luis, who was outstanding from start to finish. He was attentive, friendly, and genuinely made us feel taken care of. His recommendations were spot-on and elevated our entire meal. If you’re looking for a spot that delivers exceptional food and top-tier service, Mission Ceviche is it. Can’t wait to go back!
My wife and I had a phenomenal experience at Mission Ceviche UES. We tried the $75 six course chef’s tasting menu and it did not disappoint. We would recommend swapping out the arroz con mariscos for the lomo saltado for the $15 upcharge. Luis our server was great. He was knowledgeable and described each course with passion Ang fervor. We would definitely recommend to everyone as this is one of the premier Peruvian restaurants in NYC.
The food was absolutely A+. Every dish was packed with flavor. Our waiter, Matias, was incredibly warm and knowledgeable—he took the time to explain each dish and gave thoughtful recommendations based on our preferences. The drinks were excellent as well, and the Peruvian beer was especially flavorful and refreshing.
The venue is truly lovely, with classy décor and a warm, inviting ambience. Unfortunately, service was noticeably slow. Despite the restaurant not being busy, we waited quite a while before anyone came to take our order. To avoid another long wait, we ordered drinks and appetizers together. I’d love to try more items from their menu, but next time I’ll be visiting their Union Square location instead.
Second time at the upper east side location😊 hit the snow storm and drop by for some warm dinner, glad the place was open. We ordered the chef's tasting menu and met Andy again who was very helpful in intoducing the ceviches/main course well and recommending new variations from last visit. Overrall the tiger’s milk for ceviche here is one of my favorites — it got right acidity, heat and also subtle not too much sweetness. I think the different peruvian corn selections added a nice touch with chocolo, chancha. (corn texture I was not familiar before knowing from Andy)
I had such an incredible dining experience at Mission Ceviche! The food here is next-level — beautifully presented and absolutely bursting with flavor. I ordered the ceviche, and it was to die for. Fresh, vibrant, and perfectly balanced — easily one of the best I’ve ever had. The “trust latches” (the crispy fried bites served alongside) were equally amazing, a must-try combination. Every dish was plated with such care and creativity, making it not just a meal but an experience. The atmosphere is warm, modern, and stylish — perfect for enjoying authentic Peruvian cuisine with a contemporary touch. On top of that, the service was outstanding. Our waiter, Louis, went above and beyond to make sure we had the best experience. He was so attentive, helpful, and genuinely welcoming, which made the meal even more enjoyable. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend stopping by Mission Ceviche. Whether you’re a fan of Peruvian food or trying it for the first time, this place will absolutely impress you. I’ll definitely be coming back!
Festive, gracious atmosphere! Delicious beautifully prepared food and cocktails. \nEveryone is welcoming and friendly especially the bartender who takes pride in the artistry of presentation.

Wow! This is an outstanding restaurant and experience! The peruvian food is absolutely true to Peruvian flavor, dishes and adds an element of fresh and modern approach. We enjoyed the lomo saltado …
PROS Excellent food, awesome service and right price. Good place to explore Peruvian Food at high level. Recommended CONS Absolutely nothing Absolutely recommended
Get ready to be floored by some delicious dishes! And also the prices; wish it were a little more affordable (we were 3 people and shared these dishes, each got a glass of wine - I paid $160+ for 2/3 of the meal with tip) although I'm sure there is a way to make it more affordable (ordering the right combination of dishes), maybe leaving the drinks for a happy hour somewhere else? Nonetheless, the service was great, the aesthetics themselves are really nice and the food was top-notch. Thank you!
This restaurant is recommended on the Michelin Guide and Eater app, so I was expecting it to be pretty good. Everything was fine, but nothing was standout amazing. Service was friendly and the tres leche cake was a nice way to end the meal. I wouldn’t have a problem coming back again.
This Peruvian restaurant has a beautiful ambiance with plenty of seating, making it a great spot for a nice meal. The appetizers were delicious, and the desserts were definitely a highlight for me. The lomo saltado, however, was just okay—not my favorite compared to other places I’ve tried. The drinks were enjoyable, and the service was super friendly and attentive, which made the experience pleasant. That said, the prices are on the higher side, so I’m not sure if I’d return for dinner. Their lunch special seems like a much better deal, and I’d consider coming back for that instead. Overall, a decent experience with some standout dishes but not necessarily a must-visit for me.
I would have given them a five star but I was disappointed with the OCTOPUS ANTICUCHERO. Via their Instagram page the presentation is not what you will end up getting. Instead of being served the entire three octopus tentacles/digits you are served the above item via cut up pieces which is less food than expected. When I asked the manager her response was, “that the presentation shown is not what is served and it’s for presentation purposes only.” I was left disappointed and didn’t say anything else. I then ordered the RED SNAPPER CHICHARRÓN (FOR TWO WHICH IS ACCOMPANIED WITH COCONUT WHITE RICE) & CRISPY BRUSSELS SPROUTS which was delicious. The cocktail pisco sour, the atmosphere as well as services by Dayana were great. My husband and I will definitely return but I won’t be ordering the Octopus anticuchero not because of how it tasted because it tasted good but because it’s not what I expected.
First time here! Great location. The place was clean and inviting. The food presentation was beautiful. Most of the food we tried was delicious but the stand outs for me were the Red snapper chicharron, shrimp risotto, loved the lima roll and the guacamole and the tostones. Great selection of cocktails also. Service was a little slow when we were there, but staff are accommodating. I just need to keep asking for the chips! All in all had a positive experience.
Festive Peruvian restaurant with good food, nice ambiance and friendly service. Tried this place for the first time, just 3 weeks after returning from Cusco, Peru. We had the Ceviche Classico, the grilled branzino, the braised short rib and the crispy Brussel sprouts. They were all very tasty. 4.5/5 compared to the food we had in Cusco. Highly recommend this restaurant for the Peruvian cuisine and lively atmosphere.

Great place, excellent food, but pricey for what it is. Awesome presentation. The food is really delicious: but is just expensive. I mean to carve $28-31 for a plate of appetizer ceviche at a regul…
I have been a frequent guest at Mission Ceviche for quite some time, and I have often recommended Mission to my family, friends, and colleagues because of the excellent service and consistently delicious food. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was disappointing. The quality of the food was noticeably different from what I have come to expect. Dishes that were once standout favorites, such as the lomo saltado and the ceviche, fell far short of their usual standard, making the experience quite discouraging. I am not sure whether there has been a change in the kitchen or preparation, but I felt it was important to share this feedback. Mission Ceviche has always been a place I enjoyed returning to, and I would hate to see loyal customers pushed away due to a decline in quality. P.S. A traditional lomo saltado is not prepared with broccoli, string beans, and other vegetables. Even in authentic gourmet interpretations, these additions are not typical. While Asian-influenced variations are common in Peru, this particular preparation took away from the dish’s authenticity. It also gave the impression that quantity was prioritized over quality. To make matters worse, the dish was excessively salty. Overall, it was not an enjoyable dining experience.
We went for the restaurant week and get the $60 dinner menu. It came with 1 appetizer, 1 main , and a dessert. Food was good, it's more like a Japanese fusion food. There were tempura, nikkei. Some how service was not that good. Perhaps our reservation was 5pm, the restaurant was just open. But we had to call the server for needs. They didn't approach and asked if the food was good or if we need anything else. Consider it is a $100+ restaurant in general, service was not upto the level. Maybe it was because we got the restaurant week menu? We got drinks and coffee with the bill of $303 before tips. I only did 20% tip (but I don't think the service was worth it). My suggestion is that if the restaurant think it's too cheap to run the restaurant week menu, don't join the event.
Normally it is one of the best places to eat, noisy but you can pass that because of the good food. But last night we arrived and the welcoming wasn't friendly at all. Then we ordered and everything came really fast and the food wasn't good at all. We wanted to have night out and in 55 minutes they brought us the check and the price was very high for what it was. Very disappointed

This wasn’t my first time dining here — I’ve visited in 2021, 2022, and 2024, and again in 2025 at their other Manhattan location. As a Peruvian, I chose to return on July 29 to celebrate Peru’s National Day hoping to get some Peruvian flavors. Unfortunately, this visit was a disappointment. I started with a Pisco Sour, which was missing the essence of the cocktail — barely any pisco, no noticeable syrup, and not enough egg white. It tasted more like lemon juice diluted with a splash of liquor and cold water. I brought it up with the staff, and while they kindly offered to remake it, the second version wasn’t much better, so I didn’t press further. At the end I noticed they didn’t include the Sour in the check—I understand it as an apology and I appreciate the consideration. Next came the Ceviche Carretillero, which lacked any real ceviche flavor — it was simply a spicy sauce poured over some fish and calamari, with no brightness or freshness. But the final straw was the Maki Acevichado. I’ve had it here before and enjoyed it, but this time it was unrecognizable: just a bland roll topped with mayonnaise, with none of the citrusy, punchy notes and real cream that make an acevichado special. To make matters worse, the restaurant was uncomfortably crowded, and given how small the space is — with no reception area — it felt chaotic rather than festive. It’s disheartening to see a place that once captured the spirit of Peruvian cuisine lose its authenticity. I hope my experience was an accident and they can still offer the greatness of our country.
The restaurant itself is undeniably beautiful, with a warm ambiance and attentive service. Unfortunately, that is where the positives end. I left the meal deeply disappointed, to the point where I cannot see myself returning. The ceviche was confusing in execution, served with a mix of icy cold seafood and fried shrimp. We specifically ordered the version with crab, but what arrived was a nearly microscopic claw with no real meat, hidden under a mound of corn. The guacamole, though theatrically prepared tableside, tasted no different from a standard preparation, and was paired with a couple of tostones that seemed more microwaved than freshly made. By this point, we were more surprised than upset, though that changed with the Lomo Saltado. At $48, this dish felt like the greatest letdown of the night: the meat arrived well-done, despite our request for medium-rare, and the only redeeming element was the rice on the side—which says a lot. When offered dessert, we declined. The bill was already unreasonably high for what I can honestly say was some of the poorest quality food I’ve had in New York City.
Food - Jan 2026 restaurant week biggest scam!!! Appetizer was the best- got the limeño which was delicious but that was the most food they served us all night. Menu said “full branzino” and literally got not even a quarter of a branzino, was so tiny we all left starving. Dessert they offered a tres leches and literally cut a 1x1 in square of it - again still starving. Worst dinner and def don’t come here for restaurant week - it’s not worth it. Also sat using the back, benefit was we could hear each other… servers were nice it wasn’t their fault the menu was a scam. We were ready to order more bc we were all still starving from no food in our order…. but they asked us to leave so they could seat another table. Very bad experience, don’t spend money here on restaurant week!!
Ordered two Pisco Sours. One was good, the other felt watery, as if made with the left over from the first drink. Thankfully, the bar tender made it over and the second time it was good. Ordered a Roll Acevichado as an appetizer. The acevichada sauce got lost with other flavors. The taste was good but not impressive. It felt as a regular Sushi Roll. Ordered a Tallarin Saltado. Too much soy sauce. The take on this Peruvian dish was not impressive either. It felt as a regular Lo-Mein dish one can order at a Chinese takeout. The Lomo Saltado was the worst. Too much soy sauce. It was so overpowering that it stayed with me a long time. I did not like the addition of broccoli or other vegetables on this simple yet delicious Peruvian dish. For me, it was anything but a Lomo Saltado. The menu offers a “Wok stir-Fried Filet Mignon,” but I don’t think it was Filet Mignon, it wasn’t as tender as a Filet Mignon, and it wasn’t wok-stir-fried either. It felt like small pieces of rib eye, perhaps, charred on a grill before they were integrated in the mix of sauteed vegetables. I truly felt that the restaurant should not name this dish Lomo Saltado. It is deceiving to the flavors of a real Lomo Saltado. For me, honestly, it was the worst Lomo Saltado I had. The tab was $170 for all of this. Way too expensive for what it is. We were tired and hungry, after visiting a nearby museum, so we ate the food and paid the bill. But we will never come back to Mission Ceviche.
