One of the few things you can't get as take-out (or at least it won't be as good) is hot pot. I had been thinking about it for a while (thanks to a certain someone...) and I just had to find a way to get it. I drove by it one day to scope it out, and you can see they had full outdoor dining under a tent with tables spread out pretty far apart (see picture). I decided it was safe enough, so I brought my parents and we had our one and only experience of outdoor dining during Covid-19. Might as well experience it while I could, yanno?
The broth was rich and flavorful, providing a perfect base for all the ingredients. From thinly sliced meats to fresh vegetables and noodles, everything was fresh and cooked beautifully in the bubbling pot. Only downside? The popcorn chicken could’ve been crispier. It still tasted good, but the texture just didn’t quite land. Kind of soft instead of crunchy. Still, overall a great meal. Would definitely go back!
This is the only hot pot place I have been going to. The place is nice going to especially how well they designed it. It’s really relaxing dining here and staff are seemingly patient. You have to scan QR code to order your meal and they deliver your meal after submitting it. The soup is very hot to taste it even after many times blowing it. So you may need to blow many times unless you can resist hotness. They also give you hot or cold tea for free! I thought that they stop doing that because I remember that they promoted it long ago. Gonna go back to having Kimchi Dumpling Hot Soup the next time I come back (might forget about getting it haha).
I split the Sichuan flavor hot soup with one friend. The broth was delicious (we chose medium spicy) and flavorful without feeling MSG or salt-loaded. It was so loaded with toppings that we had to refill broth once (free) to have enough for the items. From the website, Sichuan description: "*Medium to Flaming Spicy.* Napa, beef slices, fish filet, flam, aorta, imitation crabmeat, tempura, fish ball, beef ball, zucchini, enoki mushroom, black mushroom, potato slices, frozen tofu, fried tofu puff, fried tofu skin, potato noodle, & scallions." You get a huge variety of toppings that add up to a lot of food even for just the standard order. I don't see how a single person can finish one hot pot unless they take food home. When they refilled our broth, I could see that the broth had cloudy, milky color from cooking for a long time. It was so delicious! The Napa cabbage was the perfect level of tender crisp, we didn't get any "cold" items in our soup. All items were the right temperature and cooked evenly, so we didn't feel rushed to eat quickly (which I've had to do at Boiling Point). I'm a fish ball fiend and ordered extra fish balls, but it ended up being too much food for the both of us. The house satay sauce is amazing, the fermented soybean sauce is on the sweet side which I'm not used to. The servers were super nice and attentive. If there was anything we needed, they helped us right away, and then made sure to top off broth or drinks for all the other tables while they were on the floor. I was able to enjoy dinner with a friend and chat leisurely without feeling rushed by the staff. I enjoyed the food and service here so much, I'll be coming back with my husband. Highly recommend for people new to hot pot that don't want to feel overwhelmed with choosing toppings. I think it's a way better value eating here than at all-you-can-eat places that are restrictive on the "expensive" toppings or that you would have to eat excessively to get your "money's worth." The only drawbacks were that the side vermicelli order was tiny, and fish ball side order was about $5 and came with like 5 or 6 pieces. The standard order is huge already so I won't order extras next time.
Fast service and filling portions. Ordering is done on your phone via QR code, which was convenient. The pot came out only 5 minutes after ordering, and the lit fire under your pot ensures that the broth stays hot. I came for lunch on a Monday, and the restaurant was about 60% full. The service was helpful but generally left you alone unless you needed something, which I appreciated. My lunch totaled $26 including tip, so prices have definitely gone up over time but the portion was so filling I couldn’t finish all of it, especially because they give you extra starch/carb for free (e.g. rice or noodles). There is garlic soy sauce and hot sauce at each table. Overall, great experience and would definitely recommend for those craving a good, filling, customizable pot.
There was a long wait when we visited for dinner around 8:00 PM, but it was worth it. I was new to this kind of one-person hot pot but I enjoyed how it turned out. My order was the lamb hot pot with medium spicy level and my sister got the healthy veggie one with mild spicy. Both broth taste nice and hot with lots of delicious ingredients. My favorite were the meatballs, the enoki mushrooms, and the dried fried tofu. In addition to the hot pot, I also got to choose the noodles or rice, so I picked vermicelli, which came out very soft and light to eat. I also tried adding instant ramen and this was even a better fit with the hot pot!
Perfect for the weather! Have I only ever visited when it was hot? It’s been a while since I’ve been to Fremont for work! With the much chillier weather, I was searching Yelp for lunch spots and finally decided on Tasty Pot! There’s one near my house too, so I go occasionally, but every time I visit, I leave satisfied. It’s a place I often recommend to others because the portions are generous for the price, and the taste is pretty good. I personally like the Thai style and tomato soup base. If I had one wish, it would be for a menu option that includes only seafood and fish cakes or a customizable option where I could choose exactly what I want.
Get your soup fix. Spicy, mild, or not spicy. From Tom Yum flavor to Miso. All soup order comes with sweet tea. Pot big enough to feed 2 but you can finish one by yourself guaranteed to satisfy your hunger. There is one soup top off with a lobster tail without breaking your budget. All pots priced between $20-$25 average. Friendly staff and quick service.
Came on a Friday at 5pm just as they opened knowing it would get busy. You have to order using a QR code through your phone. Once that's done meal came out quick and hot. Perfect for a cold November evening. Finding a parking spot might be tricky with so many other establishment in the same mall.
Good soup base and flavors all around. The portions can be a bit lacking if you’re hungry, but you can keep asking for soup refills to help make your meal last a bit longer. I’ve been here dozens of times (I usually just stick with the lamb) and service has always been very good and quick. They’re pretty attentive overall. Seats and tables are comfortable. The space is comfortable and not overly crowded. Parking right outside of Tasty Pot can get a bit crowded but park in the surrounding business spots like Burger King or across from the Chase bank.
Man, what happened to Tasty Pot?! Writing this review in Jan 2026. Will update, should experiences change (and if I visit again) Tasty Pot was fantastic a few months ago. Not sure what happened. The hotpots used to be well seasoned, generous in portions, and fresh. That made it 5 stars in my book. I used to look forward to visiting here after a hike / day of work. However, over the Christmas break 2025, my family (across a few visits) have noticed a marked drop in the quality of the food. Delicious meat has mostly been replaced with vegetables, the soup has no flavor, and the vegetables themselves sometimes taste as though they have gone bad. Now, It's very hard to recommend Tasty Pot to anyone. This was disappointing, as I took visiting family here, hoping to surprise them, and the surprise was the unfortunate quality of food we received. That said, the service here is always fast, and the atmosphere / decor is nice and not crowded.
Excellent service but the beef/pork is way too chewy. I had to take out the meat from our bowls for my grandma and my son because it was not edible at all. Please change your meat supplier is no good ! Very very hard and rubbery maybe meat is either no good or overcook!
