Went for a late lunch. Not real busy and I wanted breakfast which is served all day. We each had Eggs Benedict. Perfectly done, just wish the home fries was a bit bigger serving for what we paid. Service was great. Waitress very helpful when asked questions. Really enjoyed our meal.

Had the best birthday breakfast with our family here, the mushroom omelette was huge and I am still thinking about the sauce that comes on top! Everything came out hot and the portions were huge! our coffee was always full and the waitstaff was very friendly! cant wait to return again soon!

Service is always excellent. Coffee is the best in the county. I usually don't eat anything too heavy here but love their black currant jelly, egg whites and fruit cups. Little pricey but great location to meet up with out of town friends.

All delicious and great sized portions! All food is made from scratch, they whip the butter and mix batters every morning. They have their own coffee blend and squeeze their own orange juice. Everything taste fresh like it is!

I went here for the first time last weekend with my girlfriend. The food was exceptional. I ordered a western omelet and it was massive. I also got an order of buttermilk pancakes with it and those were nice and fluffy too. Great meal.

Outstanding breakfast experience. Immediate coffee that was delicious. Pancakes are light and creamy almost better without syrup, although obviously syrup adds to the flavor. Omelettes are fluffy and flavorful and filled with grilled veggies and meat. Coffee cup rarely was empty. Atmosphere is breakfasty, but not rushed.

Family owned since 1977, great service, food out in timely fashion, corned beef hash with potato pancakes (Polish style grated) fantastic and the wife got crepes and loved them. We just moved back to the South towns and love that we found a breakfast spot so quickly! Did I mention the super reasonable prices?

We like the Amherst location. We recently did a group brunch at this location and is was very nice. Everything was happy and the service was good along with the dishes.

My family was in town for the Buffalo Bills game and wanted to have breakfast before heading to the stadium. The place was packed and reservations were not available. With 18 of us the host went above and beyond to accommodate us as quickly as possible. The waitresses were top notch and the food was excellent. In and out in an hour and a half. I highly recommend it.

Love the giant Apple Pancake! Worth the extra time needed to prepare. You won't be disappointed with breakfast here. I'm not sure what they do with the scrambled eggs, but they are awesome. The interior could use a little more updating as it has a bit worn on the edges look.

I come here every Monday morning with my friend, I have pecan pancakes. We ask for the same waitress every Monday. Food is very good. Get there early, if gets busy around 10am, you may have a short wait.

Definitely an amazing place to go out for brunch with your family or friends due it being an amazing atmosphere. They can be waits at time but that’s to be expected from such a great restaurant. Love this restaurant. Very clean and lovely, cozy. The food is delicious. Coffee is really good, brought out with fresh cream. I am partial to the Dutch baby. It takes between 20 and 25 minutes to make, but it is absolutely worth the wait.

While waiting for our meal my mother and I played a lively quick game called “WNRS” (Were not really strangers) that’s the game pictured below as well! The only thing I have ever ordered is the Dutch Baby! I would give them straight 5s but the portions are getting smaller and the prices are too healthy for that! Their price for a glorified pancake demand perfection in both construction and table service from the wait staff. *I asked last visit and the chef can no longer "eye" his pour of the batter, because of New York state's calorie labeling requirement. Everything must be measured out.

Really, a 3.5 review I feel like everyone is using the pandemic as an excuse for poor customer service. There were plenty of people working and not a lot of people there at 11am on a Monday, and it was still slower than expected. My food was great (omelette and pancakes), but the strawberry and cream crepes were lacking. They were loaded with a very sweet cream filling (like really loaded), with very few strawberries. And the ones that were on the plate looked like they'd been sitting out for a few days.

The food is good ,but they way too long to bring your food if you're a party of 6 people or more . If you're two people, you would be good .

If you're in the Orchard Park area, especially the morning after a Bills game, I'd highly recommend having breakfast here. It's nothing extremely special but the food is pretty good and the portions are huge. Friendly and attentive staff, good coffee and decent make this a spot I'll be sure to visit again. Go Bills

Short on staff could be the reason for our mediocre experience. Huge servings and the prices reflected that. One of us was brought the wrong item. One of us was brought food prepared wrong . Also eggs were too runny. Didn't want to complain about 3 things so just sent back one and left dissatisfied.

The food was very delicious, the prices however were disgusting (I blame New York State's new minimum wage for servers) $5.05 for 4 strips of bacon is way too much. I also informed the manager that the bathrooms were in desperate need of attention and she didn't seem to believe my concerns. This won't stop me from going there again, as I left full and satisfied with the food.

Not particularly impressed with the service, it was sort of bland. Nothing set them apart, and they were not super friendly. The food was mediocre at best. The pancakes were alright. A large home fry was MAYBE 1/2 cup. The coffee was not pleasant.

Came here for the first time today with my boyfriend. It's a Sunday so of course it was busy. It was around 1:15 when we were seated. The server came over quickly and got our order. However the man who came in after us got his food and finished it before we even got ours. So we patiently waited a long time for our food. My boyfriend's food (omelet) was hot and he enjoyed it. My food was on the cold side and tasted okay. Overall an okay experience. Don't know if I'll go back anytime soon tho.

Went for breakfast today. Supporting the local guy rather than the chain restaurant. The food was great as always. The restaurant itself is in need of a thorough top to bottom disinfecting cleaning. Especially nowadays. It always smells bad. Our table was sticky. The back of my seat at the booth we were in needs to be replaced. I felt every move of the fidgety gentleman behind me.

- The French toast was lame, so lame I took two bites and turned it away. The server said "was it not good?", I said I wasnt a fan and it was pretty lame. She responded that is looked overcooked and not like the usual quality. I didn't eat anymore it all stayed on the plate... it also stayed on the bill and I tipped on it. Hence a portion of my star rating. I said I couldn't eat the FT so I would like some chocolate chip pancakes, which I also got charged for, they were good. - The Dutch baby was delicious.

I live this place but haven't been here often due to hours changing . Finally came in and was surprised at the menu . There was a lot of items removed which were the some what different items like tropical pancakes ... gone. Also the amount of butter that comes with the waffles and pancakes went down. Literally a dollop. Maybe a teaspoon if that.the prices tho haven't gone down tho . 8 get it times are tough but quality over quantity goes farther. I'll pay more for 2 tablespoons of butter with no problems

My husband and I used to love coming here but lately the service has been incredibly terrible! It is always the same old grumpy lady. Today had to be the worst service I’ve ever received anywhere. She started off by taking our order with an attitude and cutting us off. Then brought me strawberries that were brown! Mind you I’m 9 months pregnant so I obviously wasn’t going to eat fruit that clearly wasn’t washed and was obviously old. I had to ask the hosts for everything we needed like refills on coffee, new strawberries and even our check. The only thing we asked our waitress for the entire time we were there was an ice water. We never received it. Thank god for the host there or we would have never had service. And I try to give people the benefit of the doubt like maybe she was having a rough day but the last time we went there she was very grumpy and rude. She even argued with my husband when he said his food tasted gross. When he literally gets the same thing every time. Needless to say IF we ever return we will be requesting any other waitress.

I find it hard to be able to nail down a review for this place. Here’s why - their Dutch baby is amazing. Perhaps one of the best breakfast creations ever. If you haven’t had it and like a hardy breakfast, you absolutely must give it a shot. Be forewarned, it takes 20 minutes from order to it being served. We loved it (not the first time we’ve had one) and would take the chance at any opportunity we can get it. The restaurant service was good. I think the day we went there was a single server for the whole place. She was attentive but had a lot on her plate, so to speak. The restaurant is dated, but the real disappointment was that the bathroom (I can only speak about the mens room) was disgusting. It was as though it hadn’t been cleaned for the night before. And when I say disgusting, I means really gross! Would I come by for another Dutch baby? Likely yes, but I wouldn’t be thrilled to come to this location again.

We go here quite often but notice lately this place is absolutely frigid. Must be trying to conserve $$$ on heating energy costs. People were eating with their coats on. Witnessed a couple leave because of the cold temp.

Waited 40 minutes for breakfast for something that looked like it was haphazardly thrown together. Food was just so- so.

$40 for two people. Half the restaurant was empty but everyone is seated on top of each other. $8 for two sausage patties because nothing comes with the $12 pancakes. Then when we went to where we thought we were supposed to pay, we got sent back to our table because nobody told us you have to pay the server at the table. Pancakes were good, but not that good. Live and learn. Won't make the same mistake again. For the $50 we spent there are plenty of restaurants that treat their customers with respect.

The dining experience is markedly inconsistent. Food is sometimes served to diners seated at the same table at different time intervals. On my last visit 3 weeks ago to the NF Blvd location in Amherst, I saw that a customer's bagel was burnt to a crisp, but her friend's 49er Flapjacks were perfectly cooked. Some tables only have regular sugar, and some have none. In all cases, creamer and artificial sugar must be requested and brought to the table. The flatware sometimes does not seem to be particularly clean. The bathrooms are usually dirty. When I have been seated near the kitchen, I have heard some unpleasant conversations between management, the cooks, and the servers. I also am curious as to why there is a sign posted at the door stating that outside drinks cannot be brought into the restaurant, considering that the water brought to the table is in a tiny glass. FYI, when a family member insists on choosing TOPH, I always have bottled water with me. I also cannot believe that on Fridays, Fish Fry is served. Fish and breakfast foods with syrup at the same table/restaurant do not pair well. I do not find that the wait staff is particularly friendly (most friendly is Orchard Park, which is also the cleanest and most consistent). I also think it is strange that customers who are eating standard lunch/dinner foods are just presented with the check. The servers never ask if anyone wants coffee, dessert, etc. Since the server's income is based on sales, it would make sense to try to get the customers to order more. I do realize that the majority of people will probably disagree with my position on The Original Pancake House. Many of my family members seem to!

I was served cold pancakes and the serve grabbed them with her bare hands and reheated them by microwave and served them to me again. I usually got each Saturday around the same time and this is the first time I had a trouble experience but I had to leave a review because it’s disgusting.

The restaurant is very expensive and overpriced. For a large orange juice that looks like a medium size is 5.99!!! Give me a break! The place hasn’t even changed in like 20 years since they first opened. The bathrooms were very small and dirty. The booths were hard and the windows shades I noticed had dust on them. The food is excellent though. Always a wait time. Nice folks. The floors in the booths were sticky and messy. For the price I’ve came for breakfast was kinda worth it.

Food is great but service not! If you are by yourself, wait for a seat not too long but for the waitress to arrive, much longer. Asks if you want coffee then runs away to get it without asking if you want to order food. When coffee comes, food arrives later ( ok I get that, food takes time). But bill comes with good order & waitress never comes back with ' bottomless cup of coffee'. $2.55 for 6 ounces cup of coffee? I think I will take my business elsewhere where a single senior lady is appreciated.

Came in for a quick breakfast in a Monday morning. Occupied about 20% total so I figured with it being so empty things should have been easy…. Awful service. Waited 10 minutes for a glass of water and had 2 different people ask me what I wanted to drink. Ordered the bacon and eggs that is supposed to come with 3 pancakes and got toast instead. Why? I asked where the pancakes were and the waitress told me it would be extra because I got toast. I never even asked for toast? Then waited for a while after eating for my check… Food was decent, but I won’t be back. Nothing like the northtowns location sadly.

I ordered a feta cheese omelet. Although the eggs were really fluffy with chunks of feta, I couldn't get past the "wet dog" smell coming from my fork and plate. My daughter could smell it as well coming from my plate. I have never experienced this here before so I was taken aback. I chose not to say anything as my meal was ruined and even a new dish and silverware would not have helped. That funk comes from the dishwasher- it has happened to me at my work as well. As much as I love their food, I won't go back until they sanitize.

The Dutch pancake was okay. First time having it. How do you not get potatoes and toast as a side? Overpriced. The biggest part was the waitress. Forgot her name. She asked us what we wanted to drink 30 seconds into us sitting down and getting our kids situated. We thought okay for the drinks. Not even a minute later, “Know what you’re ordering?” We said we’re still looking. Not even a minute later. “Decided what you’re getting?” Like holy Jesus give us time. And that was the service the whole time. Even the couple behind us, the woman was still taking off her jacket and she already is asking them what they want to drink. And I’ve seen friendly waitstaff, she didn’t make the cut with her tone. Just felt super rushed. As soon as she dropped off the check, it took a few attempts for me to get her attention to get a carry out box. Maybe they’re understaffed. Maybe she’s overworked. And it’s quite possible it’s a management issue and not her fault. Only reason I came was because my friends raved about this place as a must try. Oh well.

My husband ordered the gingerbread pancakes and liked them. I ordered the raspberry pancakes, and while the raspberry sauce was good, the pancakes themselves had an awful taste and aroma. Our waitress didn't ask me why I didn't eat my food, only if I wanted a box. I've tried this place a few times in the past ten years. I think I just don't like their cooking despite many people raving about it.

Our waitress had no personality. She was not welcoming at all. My siblings and I decided to go to this location because our first time their service was great. Food was great. It was so unwelcoming by our waitress that my appetite dwindled I usually tip really good when I have good service people with great attitudes you know smile, engage just a little bit with your customers. There was absolutely nothing We mentioned to her that we needed clean saucers for the coffee because the first table that they said that was so shaky we had to hold it still and she walked away just nothing not in OK I apologize about that. I’ll be back with the saucers no proper engagement whatsoever

The hot chocolate was super small for 3 dollars and to charge $1 dollar for whipped topping is a little ridiculous, see attached photo for the splash that was applied to the top of my hot chocolate. Switching topic, the supposed “Homemade Corn Beef Hash” they claimed was chunked corn beef,was exactly the complete opposite! Looked like they opened a can of corn beef and added cubed potatoes, would have much rather had a more honest response from waitress when my mother inquired about the preparation of the corn beef hash. The egg Benedict - Canadian bacon was extremely thin sliced, Hollandaise sauce was bland / no flavor to it… do not ask for your potatoes to be crispy in the home fries because their crispy is not your crispy (onions in the home fries were inedible - literally burnt). Let talk about the inappropriate conversation that the staff thought it was okay to have on the floor while customers are seated. My whole table over heard hostess & bus girls talking about dropping someone’s food and still plating it to be served. Although it is unclear if it was a true store or just what they felt like doing, it is extremely inappropriate, unprofessional and over all disgusting 🤮 to hear. Needless to say we stopped eating, cashed out and left the restaurant immediately after we heard that. Overall I was very upset with the food and this was by far the worst breakfast experience I’ve ever had.

We were super excited to try a new spot for breakfast. This place was our first choice. The first thing we experienced was the incredibly rude hostess. She just had a bad attitude from the start. After seating we were hopeful for a better reception from our server. Unfortunately this was not the case. It almost seemed like our visit was a burden for the staff. The food was not very good at all, except the pancakes. The omelet I had was overcooked and not even hot when it finally got to the table. The peach crepes were far from good. It was almost as if they dumped canned peaches on top of crepes and sprinkled powder sugar on them. Overall a poor experience.

Note sure why anyone goes there ...very mediocre food , coffee is weak , eggs used ate medium eggs , pancakes are thin and lifeless. Sour dough bread is not true sourdough.

Best Swedish pancakes I've ever had, so are used to make it a point to stop in there! Usually they're very busy and very efficient with their service but I went in in the middle of the day and there was hardly anyone in there and I could not believe how bad the service was! She brought my Swedish pancakes and never brought me butter, I had to ask her several times so by the time I got the butter the pancakes were ice cold. She didn't seem to care at all when I tried to talk to her about it I asked for the manager and she told me she was it! I'm not going back.

I ate here over the weekend. We were seated pretty quickly, ordered within 15 minutes and waited 50 minutes for breakfast food that was disgusting. The bacon in the omelet was gross, too salty and too chewy. Not worth the wait or the price.

Whenever I come into town to visit family I always like going here a few times since the crepes/pancakes are amazing. However due to COVID I had to order over the phone and I noticed no one picks up the phone there (I had to go in person to do a take out order). I saw the owner state in a previous user's review that the girl that usually answers the phone won't get off unemployment. I get it, times are tough but you take accountability as the owner come in yourself some of the hours to answer phones. Also just a thought but maybe if you paid your employees better wages/benefits they would stick around and help you bring in more business. Not doing this actually hurts your establishment... just some words of wisdom.

Greeted semi rudely, seated rudely, ignored for a while, charged $5 for a glass (tiny) is large of orange juice, $6 for bacon as a side, they never brought the bacon at all, food was cold, waitress never came back to check on us, then she takes my plate while I'm eating and asks my friend if he's done when he had his napkin on his plate? When we asked to remove the charge for bacon she said are you sure, "you don't want to take it to go?"

This place is ridiculous. They advertise take out however you call and are told you can't get take out call back at a specific time because they are busy even during weekdays. You call back when they tell you too and again you still can't place an order. So apparently you are all set for customers. Its great how prices went up, what food you get with your order has changed and now you're denying customers. Guess that explains reduction in hours. Do you understand even if we came in you still have to make additional orders????

My son and I decided to stop for breakfast after a doctor's appointment. I have not been there in over a decade. I'll try to keep it simple and not run off. *Atmosphere: very spread out and not cozy, cute or welcoming. The backs of booths were loose and the gentleman sitting behind my son kept pushing back, heaving my son forward over the table. Of course the gentleman had the right to shift himself, however the back should not flex with him. *Service: Our waitress was less than thrilled to approach the table or was just not having a good day. When my son asked if they had mustard, for his ham and cheese sandwich, she said " I'm not sure". Never went to check until my son asked again, at which time she came back with a giant bottle. She put it on the table, said nothing and never came back to see if we needed anything else/how the food was. We had to ask another waitress for Togo boxes and our check ! Poor show. *Food: Okay. First of all, the PRICES ! $2.20 to add cheese to your omelet!!!!. Substitutions or add ons were ridiculous ! We came there because our usual place (at Southgate Plaza) was packed and we were unable to wait. There I would get the Hearty Mans Breakfast $12.99- three eggs, sausage(2), bacon (2), home fries with onions, toast and 2 huge pancakes . Delicious !!!! Western Omelet $10.99 - 3 egg omelet (cheese included!), home fries and toast. Again, Delicious ! Needless to say, we will not be going back or recommending them to others !

We go here at least twice a year as a big group. This year, we went and waited 40 minutes before they sat multiple people ahead of us. The multiple hostess’ were not able how to figure out how to seat a large group by combining tables. They also told us we were lying about when we came in. We asked for the manager- after many requests he finally came out and after hearing a little bit of both sides of the story (ours and the hostess’) he said “it will take me two hours to unpack the last thirty minutes of seating.” Since he didn’t want to deal with the situation, he was happy to see us go.

Waited to be seated, then had to wait another 45 minutes for our meal to be delivered. Waitress only stopped once after meal delivered to see if we needed anything. Had to wait another 10 minutes to find Waitress for check. While we were at our table from the time we were seated all the tables around us were dirty with dishes & left over food. Did not appear that anyone was actually trying to clean these up.

I love this place but I was passing through the area today, so planned to drive to the Orchard Park location. I checked Google and their website and neither said anything indicating they were closed. When I got there an employee was walking trash to the dumpster, the lights were on and front door open. After a brief wait, an employee came up front and said they were closed because of the weather. There were several employees working. Roads weren't great but certainly not horrible, especially for Buffalo. We drove down the street and ate somewhere else. What a disappointment.

Horrendous to say the least. After waiting over 20 minutes at the host stand and being ignored by several staff members we weren't even checked in. So we left. It's sad too because the food looked good and there were several empty tables ready for service.
