Great Atmosphere! Wonderful Breakfast Wraps! Awesome Coffee.
Great sandwiches & soup. Also great salads and bakery items
Stopped here with friends on a rainy Sunday for some hot drinks and pastries, everyone left very happy
Everything is always fresh and so many different choices 💯🤤 the homemade sweets are hands down the best ever had at a Cafe 💯🤤
Quick and friendly staff. Drinks are well done and they have a simple but great menu. Great atmosphere as well!
Great food and friendly service!! Their sandwiches and soups are amazing. A great local business that we should support.
Always love coming here, the staff is friendly and the food is delicious!
Amazing place , high quality food at fair prices . Seating options and handicap exsesable . I felt safe and at home here ...great coffee and to die for baked goods!!!
Amazing little secret place. Secret to us anyway. We are from out of town. Friendly staff and wonderful tasty food. Coffee is excellent too!!!
All the food was so good and the portions were perfect! Really clean and nice.
Excellent local eatery with their own unique menu and lots of delicious desert's also
Recently bought 2 panini type sandwiches to go. Both were made to order and delicious 😋
Great as always. Love the Panini's!! Love the bakery items! Funky little shop, fantastic decor!!
Really good sweets, love the upsidedown pineapple cake when they have it. Lobster bisque is amazing!
Fancy deli sandwiches(wraps, salads, soups). Great coffee shop atmosphere. Quality food.
Amazing artisan sandwhichs. I've been coming here all summer just to try all the different sandwiches. I have yet to get a bad one.
Excellent paninis, sandwiches, wraps, salads and more - their baked goods are also very good.
Very good food!! Very fast, efficient & friendly staff!! Love the atmosphere!!!
Best lunch I've had since I've moved to Oswego!!! Italian chicken soup was delicious!!!
A great little lunch place. They have delicious sandwiches and salads, and pastries.
I've eaten here dozens of times. Never once disappointed. Always fresh, and always delicious. Portion size is very good for the money. Bring a friend. Comfortable atmosphere. Bravo.
I always enjoy my lunches here. The turkey club panini is my favorite. I love the creamy tomato soup. I keep meaning to try the baked deserts because they all look so good. My favorite lunch spot in Oswego.
Had lunch here (The Red Sun) today w/my wife...interesting menu, great-looking wood fired pizza. Had a glass of Chilean carmeniere & the wood fired chicken sandwich; wife had the house salad & crab cake, all of which was very tasty...crab cake was one of the best. Service was excellent (Chad). Would come again in a heartbeat to try the dinner menu. A gem in the heart of Oswego. Review Part 2: my wife and I returned to the Red Sun the same night for dinner, and they did not disappoint. Our server, again Chad, was very helpful--knowledgeable about the menu and the wines, which is to me the hallmark of a terrific server. We started with a $12 bottle of house wine, which was a special going on that night and which is a terrific idea. We then chose the mussels as an appetizer, which were very tasty and well-cooked with a delicious broth & went well with the red house wine suggested by Chad. While enjoying the mussels and their broth, Chad brought over a plate of their fresh-baked bread to soak up the broth...he read my mind. For our entrees, I ordered the spicy ground lamb/pasta special and my wife had the tandoori tofu entree. Both were excellent and very flavorful. One of the highlights of the evening was being able to watch the cook staff prepare each dish ("plating it up" as they say) as if that one dish was the only one they were preparing that night. My wife & I commented to each other that the intensity of focus on making sure each dish looked as good as it probably tasted before calling the server for pickup was engrossing to watch, rivaling anything on the Food Network. In any event, the lunch and dinner we had at the Red Sun was memorable on many levels...not just the great food. Great atmosphere & decor. It seems obvious that the owners really care about the food they put out. For those inclined, the restaurant has tables with a commanding view of the Oswego River roaring by. Make sure you ask for Chad when looking for a table or making reservations. Bear in mind that the Red Sun's bar only serves wine and beers--no liquor--but you will want to go there for the food and the food prep show, if you're lucky enough to be seated near the bar and kitchen/wood fire oven area. They also make all their own baked goods. Oh, I almost forgot...they also make wood-oven fired pizzas; we ordered a margherita pizza to take home to have the next day for lunch. Even reheated it was really good. So, end of story: try the Red Sun...you'll be glad you did.
One of the best lunch spots in Oswego. Awesome sandwiches, try the Bee Sting 🐝. Also they have amazing salads as well. Definitely stop here for lunch.
Always a good experience here. Good service. Friendly staff. Food is always hot and fresh. And the potato salad is amazing. Would recommend eating here.
Big airy dining area plus fresh made sandwiches and baked goods. The coffee is nice. Prices reasonable. Nice place to meet a friend for lunch. Centrally located.
Best bagels in Oswego! The people are also great...very friendly and they gave me a tour of how the bagels were made. The ambiance is casual and relaxed.
Always a good experience! Lots of great food options. One of my fav go-to places for a soup and salad.
The food is very delicious and the service is excellent.
Excellent breakfast and coffees! Second time was as good as the first! We will be back again, maybe for lunch!
This place is your best alternative to an overpriced Panera bread. I had the Bee Sting Panini and the Tuscan Tomato soup. Both were excellent! This was also a takeout order through work, I wasn't eating it right after it was made. I'm very impressed and will definitely stop in to eat!
I love this restaurant! The food is delicious every time. Lots of healthy options. Something for every mood. I highly recommend their tomato bisque! It's so savory and delicious!
Food is awesome!! I highly recommend The Roast Beast! It is fresh and full of flavors! Maaan, if only i lived in oswego i would go there everyday until i eat everything on their menu. People who worked there were very friendly and helpful! And pretty too! Lol overall experience = awesomeness!!! Highly recommend!
i recently was on a date at port city, and sitting next to us for about 2 hours was a unhoused man who was very tired and was sleeping with his head down. as the restaurant was closing, the staff at port city gently woke him up and informed him the store was closing, gave him soup and crackers free of charge, and offered to call someone for him. you will be hard pressed to find an establishment with such kindness and hospitality. not only do they have amazing food, but this act of generosity really struck a chord with me. love this place man❤️
I wanted something different this morning and decided to stop here. I ordered an iced coffee, which is self serve. I thought that was awesome because many times the coffee taste varies depending on who makes it. The woman behind the register added some French vanilla shots beforehand. I ordered a breakfast sandwich off their menu. LISTEN!!!! The best iced coffee and breakfast sandwich I’ve had in forever. The bagel was soft, and the bacon and egg were cooked perfectly. I ordered to go and was out in a matter of minutes with my goodies. Highly recommend for your breakfast stop!
Huge selection of unique wraps, paninis, subs, and salads. They just recently started a breakfast menu, as well. Southern Style breakfast wrap is delicious!! I find the prices to be very reasonable. The interior is very nice, as well. Spacious and quaint. The baked goods looked and sounded amazing, but haven't been able to try any yet.
The Port City Cafe was my go-to lunch while I was growing up and attending college in Oswego. I always loved the Ragin' Cajun panini. I haven't been to the place since I moved out of town about fifteen years ago, until this weekend when I was back in town visiting family. I'm happy to say that their prices are still reasonable and their food is still delicious. They've expanded their menu, but still have some of the old things I love to eat. Today I ordered a Ragin' Cajun and another panini that had steak, cheese, onions, and portobello mushrooms. My daughter and I split them half-and-half. The Cajun was just as good as I remember, and the steak panini was actually even better. Can't recommend this place enough. Where I live now, I can't find a sandwich so good for under $10. I can't wait to come back again next time I'm in town.
Great customer service, as order was readily available upon arrival and all items were included.
Try the Cuban sandwich, it's delicious. Actually I haven't had a bad meal from there ever. Their sandwiches are so different but the combos always come together for a wonderful taste.
I work nearby and often order from Port City. I've never been disappointed. High quality ingredients and creative menu items. Love the lobster bisque and the Pilgrim sandwich.
Had a wonderful gluten free breakfast wrap, service was quick and friendly :)
I had the Korean BBQ bowl and a turkey bacon and smoked Gouda on white bread with mayo and honey mustard. My fiancée had a gluten-free. Turkey, avocado wrap. They have many gluten free options and a large menu to choose from. In my opinion this is a destination eatery. I loved it and we will be back!
Always great food! Today's house salad with braised beef added was simple but exactly what I wanted. Flavorful and well balanced.
I just got the Korean Beef Grain bowl and it is so good definitely has a spicy kick to it which I love. FYI if you’re sick and can’t breathe out of your nose this will clean your sinuses out for ya. I recommend, its so yummy even if you aren’t sick and just crave something spicy
Love this place!! So many great choices in a laid back, clean and inviting atmosphere. Staff is a little cranky on occasion and it's hard to get thier attention to ask questions, but usually friendly. They recently had a menu update which has some good choices, but I do miss my old favorites.
Phenomenal breakfast sandwiches. Got the Fancy Farmer on everything bagel eotj braised beef which resembled pulled pork and tasty still, arugula, Asiago cheese sauce, egg, and portobello mushroom. Also the special, beef au jus. Didn't have greens in there but very flavorful with the dunking sauce.
The service and quality of the food is consistently good, please go if you haven’t gotten the chance. I would highly recommend the Italian grilled cheese + the Tuscan tomato soup, absolutely delicious. Their passion fruit tea and mango tea are really great too. I’ve only tried dessert once, a cheesecake, and it was also delicious.
Good food usually pretty fresh and a decent atmosphere.
Good food, slow service. Call ahead to avoid the wait.
a great place for on-the-go. A small selection of breakfast sandwiches and wraps
Soup was stone cold until reheated and then extremely tasty. Their GF almond raspberry cookie was sooo good.
Had a really good wrap. Was a little on the small side and they gave it to me on a non-recyclable styrofoam plate and in tin foil so I'm only giving them 4 stars.
I ordered the biscuits and gravey and it was fantastic. Service was good and the food came out about 10 minutes after I ordered. Good local restaurant.
Had an awesome pinini called The Club. If you are ever in downtown Oswego, make sure you stop in here for some great food!
Very nice if you're looking for a diner-like atmosphere. Booth seating. I won't come again when I'm looking for a cafe atmosphere.
Great food but the vibe isn't the best. definitely a place I would do take out.
Great food. My friend and I only wanted water, so they gave us a small cup and we had to bother the cashier everytime we wanted it refilled. Kind of a pain for both parties. Food was good, but served on a tiny paper plate.
The food here is really good. It is a bit expensive. The staff are friendly but seem very rushed when you place an order. They are short in temper. Everything is A la carte.
My panini was good, wish it was served with a pickle or chips or something. The lobster bisque was not good. I'll definitely try this place again.
food and atmosphere good, however I was looking for a spot to sit and do some work on my computer for an hour or so and unfortunately their internet was not working...and was told after I ordered that it doesn't work a lot. to top it off, the phone signal inside only had about 2 bars, so that wasn't even an option. If you're going to enjoy food and time with friends /family talking etc then awesome... but if you're needing any consistent internet for anything, then find another spot.
I was very happy with the food and the atmosphere is nice. Although, a kitchen staff member nearly bit my head off when I was trying to confirm I was grabbing the correct takeout bag for a meeting. Everyone has an off day and It was busy, but It was a pretty unpleasant experience. The rest of the staff was very kind to me.
I really enjoy going to this place. The food is usually good, although I wish they would go a bit heavier on the meat in their items. The one thing I would change is to have them open earlier, I start work at 8am and if I could come get a breakfast sandwich at like 6:30 - 7 I’d definitely go more
I loved the panini bread before and they changed it. Sucks now so chewy and hard
Many customers refilled their used drinking cups from the dispenser. A rather risky action when it comes to spreading COVID-19. The restaurant had no signs up warning against doing this.
Food is good but you need to read the menu before I get there so you don't feel under pressure
Decent food however portions seems small for the price. Everything is a la cart.
Food is really good. 5 stars. Coffee is good 5 stars. Cleanliness is ok. Everything is slightly slippery. 3 stars Service is atrocious. As soon as you walk in you can just feel the zibe of bad attitude. Really unpleasant. 1 star at best.
One of the three sandwiches was made wrong. I went back to the counter and had to wait for 2 minutes so I step to the side of the counter to get the attention of the cashier because she could not see me and she responded with sir I need you to stand behind the counter. So I went back to being ignored until another person came to fix the sandwich to the right way. I agree with someone else's previous, about the cashier being cranking. I literally moved back 12 in.
Had the Korean bowl and the lobster bisque two separate occasions. The Korean bowl was not Korean in any way. Plain and not pickled veggies, usually there’s a beef or pork bulgogi but they served shredded, dry, and salty beef similar to barbacoa. The flavors were not Asian. The lobster bisque was runny and the pieces of lobster were non existent and again on the saltier side. I ate a couple times at their main restaurant next door and the food left a lot to be desired. I heard they sent their best chefs to their newer restaurant so that’s probably why.
Food: The orgeon chai was awful, I didn't even finish it. My wrap was fresh but needed more dressing. Service: It took them a very long time to take my order. When I asked questions about the food the staff could not answer them. I waited a long time for my food. They were not very friendly. Atmosphere: It dark but there is plenty of seating. The menu tv is hard to read. The bathroom was clean.
I returned after not visiting this place for a few years due to consistently rude service. The service does not appear to have improved much, but even more sadly what was once my favorite wrap there has changed and now is completely inedible due to the addition of huge amounts of tarragon.
So far I'm not impressed. So many people rave about this place. Staff was very friendly and service fast but after trying a few different wraps and a panini I will probably not be coming back here again, at least not anytime soon. First time the wrap I tried was flavorless and extremely dissapointing, second time wrap was turkey salad and the turkey had an off texture, then the final time the panini I ordered barely had anything inside of it. Coffee is standard. Haven't tried any pastries or the other sides food before so maybe they are more impressive.
The place is just average at best. The hot cocoa we ordered was like drinking milk with only a hint of cocoa. The mocha latte was bland, not anything at all like drinking a latte. The latte milk gave a burnt aftertaste. The barista seemed a bit rude to our party. Would not recommend anyone at all.
Just so so, brown lettuce, not very appetizing. Chicken salad was marginal at best. The unsweetened iced tea was so bad I had to throw it out. Wouldn’t recommend, and I won’t be back.
Food was okay, I got a sandwich that had pickled onions on it to go. When I got home I saw no pickled onions. I drove back and wanted a side but they made a new sandwich which took 20min on top of a 15min wait in line. When I got my new sandwich that sucker had 4 small pieces of onions. I am a salty young lad now. Thanks Obama. I learned to shut up and enjoy my incredibly mid sandwich.
The food is absolutely amazing. But the service is horrible. I went back to ask for some pickles they charged me for tiny cup of pickles not even a whole slice of pickle for $0.64. I went back for a to go box for my left-over sandwich, they gave a piece of aluminum foil and a tiny paper bag. I could even fit my dessert box in it. I am kinda in shock for that. We spend $40 on the breakfast can’t even get a to go box and a bag for it.
There is no service. The food was horrible. We will not go there again.
Ordered buffalo chicken tacos. I got cauliflower?
Nastiest food ever. The chicken taste like plastic and my CHICKEN Cesar wrap didn’t even have chicken, only lettuce. Never again.
Not sure if it was a one time incident but a co-worker and I came in to grab coffee, we're both Asian. We were the only two people in the bakery and the lady behind the counter said "you know you need to wait on line right?".... So we stood there, on the "line" with just the two of us. Then we left when she refused to acknowledge us. We then walked over to the bagel shop two stores down to grab our coffee, will never come here again.
Went in last night hoping for a to-go cappuccino and café mocha. We were greeted by a cook, who asked us if he could help us. We told him what we were looking for, and he clumsily pointed us in the direction of a blonde woman who was on the phone, presumably talking to a customer while looking at the menu. This continued for a further four minutes as she wandered back and forth aimlessly, still talking on the phone. You'd think that as soon as she was off the call, she'd take our order given how long we'd been standing there awkwardly unattended to while everyone behind the counter-not doing anything-just stared forward waiting for something to happen...No-just began striking up a conversation with a cook about carrots and kept her back to us as if we weren't even there. I let this continue for three more minutes before eventually walking out, as I was on the way to the hospital to visit my grandmother. The service was terrible to the point of non-existent. Never again.
Have no word for the food. They gave away our cake. Was told our office couldn't pick it up this morning because it wouldn't be ready. But then they gave a vegan cake to the wrong customer......This morning!?. I've never been there before, and they will not have a repeat customer. To whoever got the vegan cake we ordered. I hope it was enjoyed.
