Way better than any other location in Houston. Always fresh and they are always nice.

I was waiting in the parking lot for a friend of mine and I noticed over at Hart chicken and there was a very elderly little lady and another little lady trying to get up the ramp to the restaurant and they were struggling but a young man from the restaurant came out and helped them and it really touched my heart. He was a young man And to know that there are still good people in this world ! God Bless you .

Place was very clean . Had handicap parking . The food was az tasty as ever , chicken was fall off the bone tender . Drinks were cold . Its right off the feeder on I 69 in porter Texas. Waitress was very friendly . The buffet was great but didn't like the Mac and cheese . It was not good at all . Loved the rest of the buffet. Will be returning there soon .☆☆☆☆☆

We ordered online for order pickup. The service and the food were excellent. It was not a cheap meal, but worth every penny. We were also impressed with the inside of the restaurant when we went inside to pick up our order. It was pretty busy. The buffet looked SOOO good. All of the food was so fresh and looked so good they could have done a television advertisement using this location. We will be returning to try the buffet.

When entering to dine it feels like being in grandma's kitchen! You smell all the different cooked foods and the buffet style area looks and smells amazing! Your mouth starts to water and then the bread ball catches your eye🤗💕🤪let's eat kicks in...gotta try it! We love it and this location is welcoming and friendly staff.

The young lady at the window... I didn't catch her name, but I have never encountered a drive-thru attendant so attentive and willing to help. She asked about our day and seemed to genuinely care. She wasn't annoyed when I needed to add to my order. She was great! Plus the food was hot and fresh. I honestly prefer Porter Hartz over Cleveland and New Caney!

Came here tonight with my family. They wanted fresh chicken and the cook and server still dropped fresh chicken for them. I told them I wanted the chicken that was hot under the light and it was still hot and fresh to me. Great service from the people here even though we came 30 minutes before closing they still served us like they just opened. Very happy!

My only complaint was personal I didn't like the tarter sauce and the coleslaw was to sweet! But I really enjoyed my meal there

Fish batter tough and thick batter. Used to be crispy and tender. Now offer fish nuggets on buffet not worth eating. Very little fish under the batter. Everything else on buffet is home cooking.

I was pleased with this Hartz chicken location. All the food was cooked and seasoned well. They also had cucumber salad and a few healthy items on the menu. I walked out of this Hartz pleasantly surprised.

Best white meat tenders. Maybe mix it up on the cobbler instead of always peach. Yeast rolls are worth the entire trip. Nice assortment always of sides & mains on the buffett.

They serve chicken livers, it is one of my mom's favorites. Occasionally they over cook them. Just order gravy on the side, it makes it taste good.

Every time I have been there the food is been good and the price is great you get a buffet and a drink for ten bucks but you better like chicken cuz that's what is mostly on the buffet. I probably eat here at least once a month and the staff is very friendly.

Although most Hart's locations are out dated and less appealing visually, they offer a great home cooked buffet. There are few places to get gizzards at all let alone as good as theirs. I have noticed a new location and I am hoping to see more springing up. That's the only thing they really need, updated facilities.

Hadn't been to Hartz's Chicken in almost 30 yrs, my sister-in-law, Mom & I went there so Mama could have something to eat, before dialysis. Was the day before my sister's viewing, the day was sad. But the atmosphere was good....it has changed a lot, but for the better, I believe

I've passed this place 100 times while visiting the Splendora/Cleveland area but the dated/faded signage & exterior made me 🤔 about stopping. My Mr. said it was really good back in the day so we stopped yesterday. Walked in & it waa just as dated on the inside🙄 BUT the food was fresh, everthing on the line was being replaced as soon as it got low and the staff was really nice.

Chicken is well done, but the sides and dessert leave much to be desired beyond the mashed potatoes and rolls. The restaurant is dirty, and all the trash cans were full.

The food quality could be better and the selection could be greater but for the price it is definitely a great value and I will attend again. But you better be in the mood for chicken cuz that's about all they have.

Food was fresh with variety; however, it took some time for the employees to refill the buffet. You had to ask for it to be done, instead of them paying attention.

Loved loved the fish you used to serve, changed it a couple months ago. We would order the family pack almost weekly. We'll be back if you go back to the delicious fried fish you used to serve.

The chicken was horrible it tasted like it sat on the underneath the lamp for several hours. There was really only 4 pieces in there that was actually fresh the rest of them were kind of dried out. I won't go to that store again.

The food was alright, but I was unnerved a bit because their buffet line seemed a little off temp. Nothing was hot enough, and when you're holding ready to eat food at temps too cold, it can go bad pretty quick. My guess is a health inspector would make them suspend that line until it could be established tg3at the food is resting at over 140 degrees Fahrenheit. I think that's the state standard for buffets.

Almost a 4 star. A typical chicken fast food restaurant. Good food. Average customer service. BUT just sometimes over cooked chicken. The sides always good. But they often seem to be out of deserts. Fish is ok but very thin filets and yes, extra crispy. All in all a good place. Will I go again. Sure, they have great mashed potatoes and rolls. Plus when you go here, you know that you are getting " real " chicken not those pieces of chicken thinking "wow... this must've been a tiny tiny chicken.

At the price they charged for 2 buffets . I can find way better food at the same price. The prices have increased while the quality has fallen off.

They rarely put out catfish unless you keep asking. Also, the ice cream machine is broken half the time. Half the staff are just lazy or fooling around most of the time. The New Caney location is even better than this. Humble and Cleveland are far better IMO.

We were offered freshly fried chicken breasts and it was good. Husband also enjoyed a nice hot piece of fish. Otherwise, didn't feel the quality of the food was up to the standard of other locations where we have eaten. The peach cobbler was especially overcooked and dried out. Maybe they just had a bad day.

I had taken my son and his friend to eat at the Hartz chicken in Porter in Texas for doing some work at my home, but there was not enough food being put out so we just left. I was embarased. The store wasn't that many people there. It was not my best visit. And there has been a lots of other great visits.

We ordered 2 dozen chicken livers Togo tonight from the Porter tx location on 59 Eastex freeway. Most of our livers were over done and hard. We had at least 6 that were basically raw. Normally we have a great experience but tonight it was awful.

The chicken was funky. You can tell they don't wash the chicken. The service was fine. The restaurant was clean. I gave this rating based on the chicken, and that's what I went there for...

Service is great, but I suggest new cooks.

I ordered takeout 7 piece Chicken Tenders. When I got home and opened the order there was three small Tenders and bunch of nugget size chicken pieces. Not what I ordered! I well never go back to the Porter location. This is the second time in two months that they messed up my. The last time the chicken was over cooked.

I got the 11pc for $12.99 mix dark and they did not have no legs so I had to get thighs and wings, yeast biscuits was a little hard, and chicken tenders not strips were so so. The lady kept telling me $10.98 and my order was $25.97. No napkins given, no sauce offered even though they charge per sauce as you see by the photo. At least I got my order with a smile and no rude attitude.

It was terrible, food was cold, everything was too salty. You had to ask for fried chicken . They never put any on the buffet. Everything was cold. It was awful!!! And way too expensive for what you got!!!

New Caney is the worst. Cleveland #1 porter was good. Maybe the people who own the one in New Caney bought the one in porter lol. I hate to say porter is running neck to neck with new Caney. Maybe they can merge together and rename it to portercan. Sad I have been eating at porter since new Caney became nasty. Porter needs to retrain some help. New Caney needs to fire everyone and start over. Not enough oversight. The chicken is old and cold the last 3 times I went there. I was taking my workers there to eat. Now they ask me to take them to dollar general. They would rather eat potted meat and crackers.

Went through the drive thru, completely disappointed. All 3 meals had chicken with broken bones. Threw it away. I breast was burnt (as in over cooked ). Mashed Potatoes Lumpy and hartz porter gets 1/2 a star for the cold rolls. NEVER AGAIN. Broken Bones Chicken Can Kill You.

Just ordered a chicken tenders kids meal. The side was mashed potatoes, gravy, with sweet tea as the drink. Then a side of Banana Pudding. I received a chicken leg (NOT TENDERS), fries (NOT POTATOES), tea and pudding. Tried to call, it answered and then hung up. So I called again and it's "busy".

Its not the same hartz chicken like it use to be. Food has changed also, im hispanic but it has to much mexican exposure in the food that is served and rolls are not the same either. I have been in Texas for over 25 yrs and i guess change is not alway good!

If I could rate no stars I would my boyfriend took one bite of the coleslaw and it was bad told the works they tried not one but two one employee we can see it in his face it didn't taste right the other said it tasted fine but we saw the look on her face all they did was change the pan instead of replace the whole thing was very disappointed the food was not at all good

Went there for dinner at 8:28 pm.on Nov 11. 20024 and doors were locked with two families in there eating.

Mac and cheese was watered down; coleslaw was tasteless. Chicken was average. Dinner rolls were great, as they always are. Most staff were nice, but one (who I think was the shift supervisor or something) could certainly use a refresher course in customer service. Men's restroom was horrible (no soap, no towels, looks like it hasn't been cleaned in years). The Hartz just down the freeway is a lot nicer.

Buffet is Not of the best quality, Overcooked fried chicken And fish, Alot of hygiene issues with this restaurant, Restrooms mystery stains and spots on walls And doors, Dirty swing door on trash disposal forcibly have to touch when disposing used plates not very hygienic, Self serve Ice-Cream is not very hygienic!!

We tried this place twice. On BOTH occasions, the employees were eating more than the customers!! They have a very small buffet so they prepare their chicken (and I mean tons of it) ahead of time and it sits under heat lamps long enough that it almost comes to the point of being jerky. Buffets aren't allowed to be taken home yet an off duty employee and the ump-teen screaming kids she had with her, fixed multiple plates to take home with them. Too bad they didn't take the shriveled up, heat lamp chicken so we could enjoy something fresh. WILL NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE!!

Went last night and they were already putting up the food. She wouldnt tell me what the vegetable of the day was. I asked her if they had dessert and she turned around and looked at it and said yes but we are already putting it up. This was at 9. Got home to find my chicken was soggy and cold and my coke was pretty much pure carbonation. Customer service sucks and the food was disappointing. I feel like I wasted my money.

I walked into Hartz chicken and waited around for 3 to 4 minutes. Kayla finally greeted me and told me that she didn't have to serve me because the time was8:49 and the buffet closed at 8:45. I explained or at least tried to explain to her that if she would of been at the register i would of been served. She is the rudest person at this store Needs to learn how to talk to people

Food was horrible and had been sitting a while. The kitchen staff was blaring heavy metal music and the place is just dirty looking. I gave it a second chance in hopes it would be better than the last but I wont be going back. Cleveland location is much better and a whole lot cleaner.

The ladies were closing at 8 and still had an hour before they were supposed to close. Very rude when taking your money. When you ask a question or even in my case I apologized for pulling up to far, she rolled her eyes. Then proceeded to talk about how stupid I was in spanish. Little does she know I am Hispanic. I just didn't want her to spit in my food since she seemed to have a team of followers laughing with her.

The guy at the window is awfully creepy. And when HE messed up my order he tried to justify it "you told me number 7, dark meat." No I didn't. I said 7 piece tender meal! I go there quite often... He screwed up and wouldn't even fix my order! He just said "ok sorry!" And hung up. I called back and he wasn't hearing it. He heard my voice and hung up. I hope his customer service progresses because as of right now it's awful and I will not be going back.

Went there around 6pm. Buffet was not refilled. Many empty pans especially the fried chicken and chicken tenders. This location has slowly gone down hill on their buffet. Drive thru is always on point.

I witnessed a cook in the kitchen cooking and eating at the same time. Which is a health code violation?When I brought it to the manager's attention instead of addressing it, she smirked and walked away without saying a word to the individual that was violating the health code.

So. We tried this place once more. My husband and friend ate inside yesterday afternoon. By 10pm they were having stomach issues. This cramping and watery bowls lasted all night. No vomiting, cramping the next day and extremely weak. So I was told by another location, this particular Hartz has some issues. Needless to say we won't go back.

I just left and will never be back. I waited patiently in the drive thru waiting on someone to answer the intercom. 4 mins pass and I go to the window and they just ignored me the entire time. Just looking. Need better workers

This place has been consistently good for 30 years but that is OVER. Must have been 90° inside. The mens bathroom was disgusting. Fish was bland and stale. More rubberish and chewy rather than crispy. Only thighs ans wings on the buffet and when I asked for something else the rude kid walks over and throws it into the tray as if doing his job is an inconvenience. There are much better places that appreciate your business to waste time and money on this one.

Got an order from here on Door Dash. Never Again! This place is nasty. I never even been here, just got my food delivered and I know they are nasty. Ok, they sent me really old food. The mashed potatoes tasted like vomit. They chicken was rubbery. The rolls were chewy. One of the rolls had fungus growing on it. This place needs to be shut down as soon as possible.

It appeared to be comedy hour behind the counter. The two girls were constantly loud talking & laughing. There was no ice. we had to ask for chicken that should have been on the buffet. The dining room floor looked like it hadn’t been swept all day. The trash cans were overflowing & the filthy bathroom smelled like a horse stall. I can compliment the older lady that works in the kitchen. She came out & brought food. There were only 6 people dining in & no reason for not cleaning up.

yeeaah no, not coming here again the buffet is way to small they have deep fried fish? the bread rolls are way to buttery and it seems the only thing good here is the fried chicken.

We pulled up to the drive through for a number 9. We paid and sat at the window for over ten minutes. Then the Asian/Chinese lady who works there told us to pull into a slot and wait. After 20 minutes of waiting no one came out. So I went in. She then seemed concerned, but then after giving me my order she followed me out the store to “watch” me as if I stole the food. When she was the one who told us to pull forward. Shitty service and shitty people.

I love Hartz chicken...BUT Don't go here!! 12:20 on a sunday...horrible cole Slaw, hard rolls, old over cooked dry oily chicken, slimy old Cucumbers, over cooked liver and gizzards....but taste burnt.....old dried up fish and a super small buffet.......I am sooo disappointed I can't express it in words! Wings came out almost when we were about to leave (so they were fresh) grabbed 3...notices they just set the tray on top of other items(not even in the warming table) and wouldn't you know it......over cooked!! What a waste of time , money and I'm still hungry......this is not the way this place should be.....so disappointed!!

I had the buffet, which is way overpriced for what it is. I think I paid 13.99 + tax. The food was just acceptable, very institutional. The baked chicken breast was dry. The fried fish was overdone. I understand everything is more expensive now but it seems like Hartz buffet was 8.99 no more than a year ago.

I have eatin at hartz many times, tonight was the worst I have ever had there! The chicken drum stick I had mustof been sitting out all day, see photo! The Coleslaw was big chunks of cabbage not like coleslaw should be, the Mac and cheese is usually very good and moist, what I had was dried out and nothing like it use to be! I won’t be going back for quiet some time, VERY DISAPPOINTED!

Went in here asked for a 12-piece dart the kid won't charge me four-piece dark and for each individual piece to equal up to 12. 8:15 P.M. they had no chicken in the bin they only had stuff on the buffet bar. This poor attitude of the people working here. At 8:15 pm they're acting like they're fixing shut the doors down or locked up. Popeyes still has chicken and good customer service this one go across the street for better quality food and service

If your intercom is on the fritz, then fix it! I ordered a #9 (4 piece tender chicken strip w/mashed potatoes and brown gravy, roll and a large sweet tea). First of all, they were out of sweet tea, so they asked if I wanted half & half. Fine. Second, I got my food, drove all the way home, sat down and was about to devour that meal as I haven't eaten all day. You know what was missing? The mashed potatoes. There was a bowl of brown gravy. Who the hell orders a bowl of gravy when it's not even on the menu as a side dish? I've ordered the same combo meal several times, but this time they just messed it up. If this review sounds a bit harsh, it's because I tried calling them several times and it went straight to busy. They don't want to be bothered. Plus, the phone number on the receipt is off, so there's how you can tell how much they care about this store. Called the very next day, and it just so happened that the manager just left. They didn't even bother to ask me what was wrong. Overall, I will never go to this location...ever. If you decide you must, CHECK YOUR ORDER!!!!

very disappointed in this location. quality control has gone downhill. spent 11 bucks today on two chicken breasts and half a dozen gizzards. When I got home I had two chicken breasts and half a dozen of some thing else entirely, maybe liver? gross So i spent 11 bucks on 2 chicken breast’s. This is the third time in a row this place has gotten my order wrong. It was never like this before this year. I don’t know if it’s new ownership, bad employee at the drive-through window or new management but I will be going to Popeyes around the corner from now on.
