I can't describe just how amazing and at home the food made me feel. Everything was delicious, the waitress was extremely kind and hospitable, as was every person working there. I drove hours to San Diego and just discovered my favorite food place ever, and I will be driving out again just for The Pub. The prices are great, the portion sizes are way bigger than expected in the best way possible. Honestly an amazing and unforgettable experience. I'm already bragging to my friends and telling them we need to take a trip out here to have it!
Went for Sunday brunch solo and had a lovely time. The soda bread biscuits are amazing and everything washes down well with a Scottish lager. Hopefully I can come back in the evening!
New review-I’ve recommended this restaurant before, but it’s such a hidden gem that I had to share again! My father-in-law, with his Scottish roots, loved the Irish-inspired dishes here when he visited San Diego. We started with the pretzel bread—fresh, chewy, and aromatic—and a large beet salad with goat cheese and poppy seed dressing, perfect for sharing. For mains, the corned beef plate and beef stew were hits, especially with the soda bread. The shepherd’s pie was delicious but super hot! I had the liver & onions, which was tender and rich, paired perfectly with mashed potatoes. The service was excellent, and we even enjoyed live music on Thursday night. If you’re into trying new flavors, I highly recommend giving this place a shot! Previous review- We came here a long long time ago and I think they had a different name. Anyways, this place is really delicious and I highly recommend you come to give a try. This time we ordered a bunch of different things and everything is very good. Also their price is so reasonable! Service is friendly and the atmosphere here is nice. It’s a good place for a nice British food and beers.
Wow. Can not believe i waited so long to try this spot. Went today for Sunday brunch. Delicious and so reasonably priced. Loved the food and can't wait to go back! Great happy hr deals too!
Ordered the Pub Burger. Terrific. We asked for the fried onions on the side. Good thing we did because eating them by themselves they were not good (crunchy and flavorless). My Marine son ordered the Guinness Stew entrée with mashed potatoes. It came in a large bowl. He ate the whole thing. The Orange Cremescicle cocktail was great. The Pog cocktail was not sweet enough for me. Overall, it was a very positive experience. We're out of towners, so we probably won't be back because when we come back to San Diego, we like to try different places. But you, reader, now have a place to try.
Amazing place, really laid back, friendly staff that made ya feel like everyone knew your name! Found Dan Diegos by using the app Tap hunter. They post regularly as they keep a good rotation of brews along with their staple brews. (Kilkennys was on tap today Picture included). I highly encourag a visit to this amazing Irish pub in the San Diego area!
You gotta come here! Great hidden gem with amazing food and awesome prices for beers/liquors. If they're serving the chicken pot pie soup you have to get it. Everything we had was amazing and I'll be making this a regular.
Great local pub. Great homemade food, excellent beer and spirit menu. Amazing food and drink specials every day of the week. Family friendly and live Irish music on Saturdays.
So good! Nice and quiet dinner with an overall comfortable atmosphere. Food was excellent as well. Got the Irish fries and German plate with soup and ice cream.
Friendly outdoor service with hip music on their dinning patio. Delicious , generous food and we'll definitely be back. Lucky to happen upon this place with happy hour as a bonus.
Staying at a hotel down the street, great food, very thoughtful staff, Jordon went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. I enjoy a view of the tracks to watch trains go by, since they have WiFi I'd definitely go back and work for a while. Try the loaded Irish fries!
Dan Diego’s will be my regular spot when I’m in town visiting my son. This take on shepherd’s pie was warm, hearty and delicious. Their rotating beer selection was excellent and I took the recommendation of our server and had the witbier - a great pairing.
Great classic pub. Extensive menu. Good whisky selection.
The crew at The Pub let us have a private holiday party. Awesome food, great service, and best cocktails. San Diego Senior Soccer Women will be back when the league starts again.

Keith’s cool. The entire team is wonderful. We stop by semi-regularly for ribeyes and sandwiches. I recommend the orange creamsicle cocktail if you like sweet drinks.
BEST FOOD EVER Got the corn beef Irish cheese fries, the Irish sheppards pie, and Irish soda bread & butter. I feel like I went to heaven with every bite. Also drank the cherry limeade cocktail and it was so yummy. Very great price for all of it! 10000% recommend!!!!
I visited this place shortly after it opened more than ten years ago, and I've stopped in occasionally ever since. I love how it has built a loyal clientele and become a neighborhood institution. Not hard to see why. If you tried to imagine the ideal place to spend a lazy afternoon, it would look a lot like this spot. There is a spacious patio deck, with a beautiful view of the bay and an ocean breeze. There is a thoughtful beer list, heavy on European styles. The staff are friendly, and the type to remember you name (even if, like me, you only stop by every now and then). There are always people around, but the vibe is relaxed -- never rushed. It is great for a leisurely brunch or a long catch up with friends. Oh, and the food is always satisfying. It is unpretentious pub fare, heavy on burgers and sandwiches, but everything is thoughtfully made with excellent ingredients. Their pub burger is one of my favorites in the whole city. There are also some heartier and more interesting dishes, which draw on the place's Irish roots. The shepherd's pie and the soda bread are a few of my favorites. Thanks. Keep doing what you are doing.

Burger and steak fries were amazing. Best burgebI’ve had since in San Diego.

Nice vibe Irish pub. The beer was great, as was the live music. My fish (from an order of fish and chips) however seemed a little soft/soggy, as if it had been sitting a while, but my two friends had orders that were crispy. Go figure, I got a little unlucky, but I still enjoyed our time here and would go back.
We stopped in because we seen the banner "voted best fish and chips". Parking on street and a few spots in lot. Sat outside on deck. It was a beautiful day. Plenty of seating inside. Staff is extremely friendly, very happy. Started with loaded fries, which should have been enough for the two of us, but we just had to order the fish and chips. The cod fish and chips were hot but just a little greasy. Would go back.

I was craving some Irish stew one day so I came here and got a bowl of Irish stew to go. But what I was given was more like a cup of stew. It was a very small to-go container and I think it was like $9 or $12 it was very expensive. I remember thinking if this is the bowl of stew ,what's the cup of stew look like? It didn't have hardly any beef in it it just was not good at all. It was the absolute worst Irish stew I've ever eaten in my entire life. I do not recommend it.
