Tip: Try the Lomo Saltado for an authentic Peruvian experience, but ask for the steak to be cooked a bit more if you prefer it that way.

You can't go wrong eating here. The food is always hot fresh and delicious.
Red Panka is a casual eatery with authentic Peruvian food. It appears to be family owned so the front counter staff are typically quiet teenagers. Not rude, just less social. We've tried the tallarin saltado, tallarin verdes and lomo saltado with ceviche to start. Everything is delicious.
We found Red Panka restaurant by chance on our way to an event, and I’m so glad we did. This Peruvian fusion food restaurant is excellent! Authentic Peruvian food. We ordered the Causa Rellena, Pesto Spaghetti with steak, fried plantains, (avocado) Palta rellena and to drink Chicha Morada and Inca Kola. Everything was really good, well done and fresh. Good size portions. We finished our meal with Mil Hojas and Alfajores for dessert. Highly recommended. The place was nicely decorated and seemed to be popular in the area. We will definitely come back!
I was recommended this place when I first started university and it’s been a few years since I last visited. Since I was in the area today, I decided to revisit and I’m so glad I did. My dad and I arrived around 2pm and it was pretty dead inside. The lady working at the register was very kind and patient and allowed me to stare for a long period of time because I was feeling indecisive with what I wanted to eat. After a while, I finally settled on the Camaron Saltado peruvian style bowl while my dad went with the Tallarin Saltdo with beef. I also ordered their fried plantain because it’s one of my favorite childhood foods and I rarely see any places that sells it. While waiting, I was admiring the wall art and the unique framed art. There’s plenty of seating and everything was relatively clean. It was also very fun to watch the chefs work on our meals, the fire blazing through the kitchen. The wait wasn’t too long and when our food was ready, we went up front to grab them. I genuinely was impressed by their food, not only was my shrimp flavorful and well seasoned, it was prepared perfectly and I loved the sauce they drizzled over my bowl. My dad’s dish was also delicious, very soy sauce forward and the beef was perfectly tender and tasty. The portion sizes were generous and I honestly wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to finish everything. And finally, that fried plantain was delicious! It honestly tasted like my childhood and now I want to learn how to make it myself. Overall, I enjoyed this spontaneous stop to this restaurant and will definitely return!
Had an absolute blast trying this new Peruvian place. 9/10 would recommend! The three of us had a Red Panka Burrito with the chimichuri steak in it, and 2 of the noodle dishes one with chicken and one with shrimp, we also split a Red Panka Fries. Everything was excellent. The Aji sauce is bomb diggity. Looking forward to trying again.
I went here for the first time today. It was as good as I had hoped it would be! I've loved Peruvian food since I visited Peru a number of years back, but it's hard to find. I got the Tallarin Saltado with chicken, and loved it. The green aji cream sauce was great too! Staff was friendly and professional. I liked it so much I returned less than an hour later to get Lomo salt ado for a family member.
The food is phonomanal and the service was on spot! Jesus is a really nice guy and was very helpful when it comes to explaining the menu and items. The food was so good that I actually barley remembered to take the pictures before we finished our meal. Lol That's why they are half eaten! Plus the fact that it was so tasty! Definitely Lots of awesome different flavors going on here! A must try!!
Food was very flavorful! First time with Peruvian cuisine and I was happy with it. Good portion size especially on the fried rice meal. Service was slow and its a little pricey, that's why 4/5.
Delicious and different type of food seasonings. We shouldn’t have ordered the Red Panka Fries because now my kids can’t stop ordering. Lomo saltado is very good but we just asked them to cook steak a bit more. The rice is a bit too oily otherwise I could be there every week. The Peruvian aji green sauce is a bit too white in color so too much mayo and needs more cilantro but the taste is still good. I do recommended this South American yummy restaurant l. Been there 3-4 times 😂 and counting
**Authentic Peruvian Flavors Worth the Wait** Let’s get one thing straight—this isn’t Mexican food, and I say that with all respect. Peruvian cuisine takes time and skill, and as someone who’s Peruvian, I know firsthand that it’s no easy process. There aren’t many Peruvian spots in California, so if you’re ordering by phone, plan ahead—give it 45 minutes to an hour. Now, onto the food. I came here with my Peruvian aunt, who’s basically the go-to home chef for any Peruvian in our Riverside area. If she approves, you know it’s legit. She loved the **Causa Rellena, fish ceviche 🐠 **, and we also ordered **Lomo Saltado with beef, a shrimp-only version, empanadas, and Tallarín Saltado**. Everything came out 🔥. Shoutout to the chef in the back—a big guy who clearly knew his craft. If you’re new to Peruvian food, start with the **Lomo Saltado (beef stir-fry with fries and rice)**—a classic. Feeling adventurous? Try the other dishes I mentioned. Either way, expect bold flavors and a real taste of Peru.
Great place to come eat at. We had the the original pollo Saltado, the causa rellena, and tacos Peruvian style. The service is great and the prices are reasonable. Personally I loved the original pollo Saltado and the tacos . I didn't care for the Causa rellena it just felt like I was eating a plate of potato salad. Don't forget to get a can of Inca soda when eating here. Totally need to come back and try a few other items.
Wonder if the Peruvian people would agree that their cuisine has many similarities of those of Oriental characters and cooking methods. Fried rice and noodles are in the menu. The same spices used in Oriental cuisine could be tasted. Most interesting part is that the chef expertly used a wok to cook all their dishes.
Food is delicious as always but tonight the clerk at the register was very rude. No smiling. When I asked for extra tofu she snipped “ there’s an extra charge for that”. She said her name was Denise. I’m pretty sure she helped us the last time we were here as well. I came back and asked for a drink and she made me wait while she finished making another order.
Sure the plate looks good, but what matters is taste as well. Fries are laid out like raisins getting dried in the sun (Not fresh at all) and seems lil old. Meat isn't really fresh you could tell on the first bite seems likes its soaked in cooking oil. I've eaten many places that served Lomo Saltado and this by far isn't the best or even "GOOD". Cashier(Younger gentleman) I say kid seemed not to want to take any order's and had a slightly attitude on him. Hope this places changes its recipe and staff giving it a 1 star they need improvement.
