Amazing food. Very considerate. Great place for the slow dining experience. Not to mention the owner is just the nicest guy you'll ever meet.
Haute cuisine in its purist form. The lamb chops with mustard sauce, ratatouille, and leek soup were absolutely delicous. Delightful aroma, beautiful pesentation, and blissful on the palate; the food at Mon Reve is a treat to the senses. The beautifully done decor creates a warm and pleasant ambiance. The delicate chocolate mouse was a delightful finish to the evening. The service was excellent. Mon Reve is an outstanding restaurant that will be on the top of my list next time I visit Ridgecrest.
Well just wonderful. The owner took care of our group. The food was great and a real surprise in ridgecrest, ca. Go enjoy you will love this place.
Like being transported into rural France! Beautiful murals and wonderful food. I always enjoy my meals here!! Reservations are a must and save room for dessert!
This place is amazing!!Best restaurant in Ridgecrest. Don't plan on eating quick and running, everything that is ordered is cooked fresh and done right everytime. Atmosphere is awesome, you won't be disappointed. 5 star☆☆☆☆☆.
What amazing food! Each dish was so fresh and delicious. I recommend putting in a reservation because the restaurant has many patrons.
Delicious food, very rich and flavorful! Attentive staff, and good atmosphere. Had a great evening here, and would happily attend again.
The French onion soup is something you definitely need to try. I’ve been to so many French places between this one thus far is the best.
Fantastic! The dinner was exquisite, service is always so wonderful and pleasant. Atmosphere perfect. Best place in town We are so fortunate ate to have them here. ♡♡♡♡
Great cozy atmosphere. Excellent service. The french onion soup was the best. The desserts were amazing. Highly recommend for a date night or nice lunch. Great hidden gem.
Excellent! We walked in for dinner and they seated us in the side room, as the main room was already full for later reservations. I am normally a casual diner, so this was possibly the fanciest place I have been to. For my second visit I would definitely wear something nicer than a t-shirt and jeans and make sure to have reservations beforehand. There are not a ton of tables, so this is a nice intimate space. I would have loved to include pictures of our food in the review, but this is the kind of place where taking out your phone to do so would probably be tacky. The waiter was excellent and literally checked on us every 5-10 minutes to see if we were pleased or needed more to drink. Food was wonderful! My husband and I don't drink alcohol and we usually eat less than the standard american-sized portions so we forewent the wine, had one appetizer, split the entree (did have an additional $7 cost for that, but we each got our own side) and got two desserts for about $52 before tip. When we had our check delivered our waiter asked if he was going to see us again and I enthusiastically said "Definitely!"
Amazing food and staff! The owner was very attentive to making sure we were happy throughout the meal and chatted with us a few times. Had the onion soup and the filet mignon and both were perfection 🤌🏼 Will definitely be going back regularly!
Great French restaurant! The food is delicious nice selection of French dishes like Quiche Lorraine, French onion soup, salads and dessert Chocolate Mousse so chocolatey and fluffy, the best I've ever had. Nice selection of wines, and the ambience once you sit down you don't feel like in Ridgecrest anymore, you feel like you're somewhere else! The French music is wonderful and final touch to ambience making me feel like I could be in France!
I have not been to Paris, France but I hope the cafes there are as nice as this. I went here with friends to celebrate of the Rejuvenation of the Red Mountain Community Center . The service is impeccable . The food was fantastic (We had Onion Soup). Some had more but I was full. Up jumped the Devil with the Dessert Menu .I may have to buy a larger pant size. Ordered it to go. Our comfort was seen to and we were cared for as tho we were special. I would and do recommend this Special Place to all. Go and Enjoy
We try to go there once a month especially for the French onion soup. Family get togethers and when friends come from out of town. Always the same comments I can't believe such a place like this exist in Ridgecrest. I've always enjoyed my meals there, and the owner and his family are truly French. They take everything they do very seriously when it comes to their food their atmosphere and their service. this restaurant belongs in a major city but I am so glad it's in Ridgecrest. If you have the time and you enjoy good cuisine. Please make an effort to go to mon reve
Delicious food. Small servings. High prices. Wait staff is great. If you order an entree, make sure you also order an appetizer. My steak was made perfectly.
Feels like you're transported to France. The staff is always attentive and friendly. The owner is always about and makes a point to say hello to all the patrons. The food is AMAZING!! The french onion soup is my very favorite.
I was en route to Bishop from irvine for fall foliage . We wanted to have a decent lunch and looked up and found this place. What a surprise! Food was as as good as top French restaurant in Irvine. French onion soup was one of best I have tried. The chef is a French and is from Normandi. It's worth visit if you're neay by.
This place is a gem in Ridgecrest! The staff is the friendliest bunch of people. We did not have a reservation but they made sure we could still have a seat in the back anyway. The food was amazing! 10/10 would recommend
Amazing! We split the goat cheese toast over salad to start, I had the grilled lamb chops with ratatouille and she had the filet mignon with the scallop potatoes. All finished by the apple tart. If I sat and looked for a complaint I couldn't find one. We will be returning often. Service, atmosphere, and food all 10/10.
Had dinner with my husband and our friends and it was amazing. The food was fantastic and the owner was so friendly and fun. The overall atmosphere was relaxing and beautiful. We will definitely be back 😀
Delicious food and enjoyable dinner experience. Best ambiance in town for a local restaurant. The French onion soup and creme brulee are absolutely amazing! Do allow a little extra time for your dining experience
The lamb was excellent but the scalps were superb which was our appetizer and also of note was their rolls. .and our waitress. .a young beautiful woman Victoria was attentive sweet Very nice
What a treasure to find this place. The food was extraordinary--from the escargot to the apple tart. We all ordered different meals and deserts and it was all wonderful. The staff was knowledgeable and charming. Overall, just a great evening.
It IS French. Not some ostentatious caricature of France or it's cuisine, but the honest, kind, and attentive soul of France; in food and service. It is an ironic outpost of the counter-transactional, in a town contrived from the desert as a transaction. It's so genuine, it feels like a phenomenon.
Thank you so much for the experience tonight. The service was unparalleled, the atmosphere was exquisite, and the food satisfied in every way. I gave the biggest tip I ever have tonight because it was earned. Thank you Monsieur, I will be back.
We were just passing through on our trip, and this place was a recommendation - a good one! The place is nondescript from the outside, yet offers a very nice place for dinner. The welcome & the service were very nice. Although fully booked we were offered a table - nice! The food was simple and delicious - love it! Not too many dishes on the menu; and that’s all it needs. Food made with dedication and love. If you pass through Ridgecrest, make sure you stop at “Mon Reve”.
I am French and I approve this restaurant 👍. The chicken was very well cooked, the sauce was really good too. The vegetable gratin and the gratin dauphinois was perfectly cooked. We try also the profiteroles and that was spectacular. Proportions are perfect and the team was friendly.
Love the fact the place is comfortable, the staff was great and the Food was amazing. During our meal the owner came out and said hello. Top Notch.
Really great food. It is expensive for Ridgecrest, but not for what you get. I was worried it would be trying too hard to be fine dining, but it isn't. It's just great food and great service. Nothing overly pretentious.
Customer was amazing and the food was delicious!! Will definitely be going back!!
An authentic French experience including ambiance, food and language. We stumbled upon this restaurant in Ridgecrest by chance and enjoyed excellent food and service. “C’est magnifique!”
Friendly staff, quick service, quality food. The wine selection was good too.

By far the best restaurant in town! From the small dining area to the French music, it really transports you. Wife got the fillet mignon and it was cooked perfectly! Melt in your mouth with the garlic butter sauce. I forgot to mention she also got the French onion soup for an appetizer and it was the best I've ever had. I got the lamb chops and they were superb! This place will be getting my return business for sure!
This is the best place in town, without question. Every time my wife and I go it feels like a family dinner with a French Uncle. If you’re in Ridgecrest you need to go here, no question about it.!
We went to Mom Reve for a birthday dinner. My friend is a foodie, and so I wanted to take her somewhere special for her bday. We each got appetizers, an entree, and then shared dessert. I got the brie in a pastry puff appetizer (feuillete brie), and then poulet au pesto (chicken stuffed with pesto, cooked in a creamy sauce with curry) as my main dish, with a side of pasta. My friend forgot the onion soup for her appetizer, and the filet mignon (cooked in a red wine port sauce) with a side of ratetouille as her entree. For dessert we got the panna cotta coconut with mango and passion fruit coulis. It was all very delicious! The atmosphere was quiet and peaceful, and the food was worth the price. I would definitely go back. 😊
Best restaurant in the whole state! Got back from france and found the food here better :) especially the French onion soup
A charming French bistro with delectable pastries and hearty entrees. The ambiance and service are top-notch, making it a must-visit.
We spent our anniversary dinner at Mon reve last night and we couldn't have been happier! The service was amazing the food was even better. My husband and I will definitely be coming back!! If you're looking for a place for date night I'd definitely try this place. Eat new food, very intimate and absolutely recommend!!
Our server was very friendly, kind, and checked on us several times. He took the time to explain every dish and never made us feel rushed. Onto the food, we started with the shrimp and scallop dish which was savory and the cheese on top was cooked to give the perfect crunch. Th lamb and filet mignon were cooked to perfection and served with the most exquisite sauces. The Crème brûlée and was Devine and we had this egg white served with crème and caramel that was light and fluffy. I’ve lived in Ridgecrest my whole life and regret not going sooner!
Definitely a 5 star restraint, we go here every wedding anniversary, it’s in our category of one of the best restraints west of the Mississippi, enjoy !
A lot of people in Ridgecrest told me this was the best restaurant in town. After trying it I can totally agree! The food here is absolutely phenomenal and the owners are so lovely! The only thing I regret is living here for over a year before trying it! Absolutely a must visit! Reservation only so call ahead of time!

This is a fairly pricey restaurant. I believe it is one of the finest dining options in town. We loved the food. We thought that the service was a little lacking, especially in light of the pricing, but it is a small town. All in all, definitely worth trying the food.
Love the food. Downer is the limited operating time, 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM Tuesday to Saturday. Better to make an appointment, although I've had good luck (3 out 4 tries) getting a table later in the evening. Also, expect to pay more: one meal plus two beers about 40 to 50 bucks. Still, something different besides the usual Mexican, Asian, and fast food selection in this small GI town.
Was very surprised by this place in Ridgecrest. Passible French food in an unlikely location. As a die hard gourmet foodie, the fare was OK to good, but the excellent service, large pours of wine, reasonable price and solid menu made up anything the food was lacking.
Atmosphere was very nice- quaint and personal. The reason for the high rating was more the attentive service- Herve was very knowledgeable and hospitable I had the Sole Normandy with French onion soup for a starter. The sole was very good, but the side stole the show. A sort of ratatouille gratin that was very flavorful. The French onion had an excellent cheese topping, while the soup itself could have used a bit more flavor and onions Overall, I would definitely return

Good service. Escargot was more tough than chewy, the entree was as good as expected but no better. The best French food around but does not compare to restaurants in other cities.
This was a huge disappointment for me and my husband. I'm half French and Asian. And my husband and I love the French cuisine. Unfortunately, we had learned never to go there before dinner. Their menu is more American, with Sandwiches with your basic side dishes like macaroni and French fries. And even though the atmosphere does have a familiar French touch with French music and a few decorative items to embellish a French theme. The food lacks the authenticity of the French delights of European and cultural French foods. As for their Dinner menu. This is also more Americanized than anything near authentic French. On a good note, their host/waiter does speak French and is very polite as he frolics from table to table. In conclusion, The Fries are French Fries! And this restaurant does give a nice French placebo effect, with the American Onion soup and your typical Creme Brulee.

I went there to eat. They denied me that without any explanation. I wasn't even allowed to order takeout without any explanation. The guy was rude to me. Guess I'll keep going to Independence CA for French food at the Still Life Cafe. Better food, better service.
