This place never disappoints. I’ve been ordering from here on UberEats for some time and the food is always spectacular. The fries are tasty, well seasoned and the gyro is incredibly delicious.

Bomb food. I’ve only has the gyro double meat but that’s because it has me in a chokehold. Ive tried the kabobs but I didn’t like it. The fries a soggy but I love it—— it’s fresh and they make fries how they’re suppose to be made. Cut, washed, fried, salted. No preservatives or anything. Outdoor seating is small but I think they had to minimize because of COVID.

Surprised by the low rating - seems people are concerned more about the value than the food itself. I probably get food from here at least once a week if not more since I started to WFH. They’re the loveliest people whether you eat in, pick up or get delivered. The spicy feta dip is amazing and I usually get the grilled chicken. So tasty. My kids like the gyro - not my sort of thing but they love it.

Friendly neighborhood spot (realizing that it's a small chain in NY) Got the mixed grill and lemon potatoes. There were SO MUCH meat for the 2 of us, we took the rest home and had another full meal from the left overs. Everything was seasoned well with tons of flavors. Would definitely recommend.

As someone born and raised in Thessaloniki, I know a proper gyro. Gyro World gets it right. The pork gyro is spot on - juicy, seasoned just like we do it back home, carved fresh off the spit, wrapped in soft pita with tomato, onion, and real tzatziki. Tastes like Greece. My brother got the chicken gyro and it is just as good. Tender, full of flavor, with that nice char. You can tell they care about doing it properly. The place feels welcoming. The staff are friendly and the service is quick. No frills, just honest, quality Greek food. If you’re looking for a proper gyro in New York, this is the spot.

This place is a gem and I have been coming here for 6+ years and not a single time I had a problem! I tried a lot of Greek restaurants and this one is by far my favorite one! The food is perfectly cooked and seasoned. Texture and flavor is spot on and I’m not over exaggerating either. Most of the time I order it for delivery and have 0 problems except that the wait time can be delayed which is understandable. I always get my lamb/beef gyro with wverything in it and fries on the side. My girl get the chicken souvlaki sandwich and fries on the side, everything is delicious and fills us up! They put the right amount of meat and a LOT of fries so no complaints there! I see a lot of reviews bashing this place like there is one with a lady bug on the food…. Probably flew on your sandwich and you panicked and said it was their fault it, but no they purposely put it there lol…….. some other review a guy wrote the fries were soggy or a girl said burnt fries. Look call them address the problem be polite and they will send you a new order. Every other restaurant has similar issues nothing and no one is perfect. This place is a bang 5+ years the food is AMAAAAAAZING and I’ll always be coming there!

Another place I found by searching for food on Google maps. I had the beef and lamb gyro and an order of fries. The gyro had a good portion of meat and you have to wait a bit because they cook them as the order is made, which means no dried out bits of meat hidden under the lettuce. The fresh pond location I visited no longer makes pork or greek sausage gyros, both of which I wanted to try when I saw them on the menu. Just my luck. You know how yoy open the bag and keep grabbing a few fries on the way home and when you get there you have no fries left? That won't happen with these fries. Huge portion, and very tasty. The place is worth a visit if you're near the Fresh Pond Rd Station.

Would only recommend eating here sparingly, not regularly due to moderately low value (overpriced for what it is) and seriously slow service - even at off-peak hours they underestimated pickup times consistently by 10+ minutes on at least 3 occasions in the last 3 months

The service was great but the dining area is really small. Good thing is there are ceiling to floor windows so you don't feel so claustrophobic while sitting practically elbow to elbow with the next table. The food was pretty good ... Not the best greek I've ever had, but good. The portion sizes were good also. I had the beef and lamb platter which came with a lemon based chicken, veggie and orzo starter soup. With a side of rice, a pita and of course delicious house made tzatziki sauce. I would def go back again and try something else.

Food was delicious but a touch salty

Food is good, although it’s a bit plain on spices (to my taste). Rice can be done better. Probably the best Greek gyro in the area. Got souvlaki twice and wasn’t cooked throughout. Place is, however, a bit overpriced. Takes a long time to get your order (take out or delivery).

The pork gyro is insanely delicious, wow! Simple ingredients but very flavorful. Takeout is a little pricey ($13 for a gyro and a drink, no fries) so it’s just a “once in a while” treat for me, but otherwise I would highly recommend.

Never have any complaints when I order from here. If you're ordering for 3 or more people, get the gyro world platter. It's an assortment of meats with some salad and fries. It's annoying that they won't put the fries on the side though even if requested. They fight against it lol. But still food is good.

The food here is good. Everything seems fresh and of quality ingredient. Waiting staff can be hit or miss but is usually ok, last experience great waitress. Food does take a bit longer to come out than similar establishments. Would recommend the burger options for a good burger in the neighborhood. Platter choices are great as well.

1st Creek place that I've tried and this neighborhood and it wasn't too bad. Staff was hospitable, and happy to help explain what was on the menu. I definitely think that there customer service was amazing. location is a little bit hot in the summer as they don't have air conditioning, at least it wasn't on when I went. Food was decent. I would definitely stop by again.

Presentation very nice but the chicken pieces are too big. Only like 6 pieces of chicken because they’re huge. But very tasty next time I will just order the chicken very finely chopped!! The veggies in the soup also extremely big. Good flavor but they just need to portion better.

Good gyro meat. Lemon potatoes were undercooked and needed more lemon. Food took a long time. The staff was pleasant and friendly but whoever is running the kitchen needs to manage the cooking processes better or just get a pulse.

the food is okay, nothing extraordinary. The service is basically the minimum amount of effort possible. We had to grab our own menus after waiting for them for 5 minutes. There was a hair in my food!!! I would not go here again. It's pretty mediocre tbh.

Food was edible but not that good, gyro meat tasted terrible and old (weird cause u would think that the gyros would be their best product hence the name) I then ordered a burger which was a decent size and not bad at all I did enjoy the avgolemono which is Greek lemony chicken soup. The waiter was nice and attentive.

I won’t give them a bad rating because the gyros are good. But they can sure work on the customer service aspect. I came in and ordered a lamb and beef gyro. They said the order would take about 10 minutes. It was more like 25. Then on top of everything they didn’t even give me What I ordered. They gave me a pita with pieces of kebob meat that had too Much fat on it to enjoy it. I wrote to gyroworld and told the manager exactly what happened. They answered and asked me where I placed the order and how. I told them what happened and got no further response. I expected them to do the right thing and offer me a free gyro to make up for their mistake. I was not looking for anything more. I’ve already spent a few hundred dollars in this place over the years and make a stop here whenever I’m In the neighborhood. I won’t say that I would never come back but they should think more about the value of a customer and things like this are a good way to turn away your customers.

Ordered 2 Gyro w/fries over the phone i mentioned it three times . Two separate orders one with 2 chicken souvlacki. She charges me separately and rips the reciept of the bags . My order didnt have fries and my brother that took his says his order didn't have fries either. Didn't bother to complain when she took the receipt off the bag. $50.00 total. Lost a customer ☹️☹️☹️

Ordered a beef and lamb gyro. It was luke warm.. very dry.. obviously it's been sitting because the meat was hard and overcooked.. they should have shaved the dry meat off first before serving, the sauce was at the very bottom of the gyro.. not happy at all with the taste.

Prices are up, portions and quality are way down. Service is always good but theres too many options in the neighborhood these days. Still solid for a gyro for lunch, but platters, salads, etc are terrible. (This is the tiniest piece of feta Ive ever had with a greek salad)

Food is decent made fresh on the grill, but service is the bare minimum, lady has an attitude. They’ll most likely talk about you if they assume you’re not bilingual. I’m bilingual btw. We’ll go to an actual greek place with better food and service next time.

Haven't done a food review in a while but this one had to be said. I drove by this place and thought that looks like a cool lil greek spot . When I went in the place was empty and it looks like a fast food spot but decided to try it .I ordered the chicken souvlaki platter w lemon potatoes and a greek salad. I get a box plate with a few cubes of chicken a bunch of potatoes and a plastic container with a laughable lil greek salad. already I felt robbed..then I tasted it..the chicken tasted way too chewy (rubbery)and bland , the potatoes were OK at best ,best part on that plate was the few onions and the "greek" salad consisted of lettuce, a thin slice of feta some tiny slices of tomatoes 3 cucumbers and one stuffed grape leaf, no olives . I forced myself to eat some of it ,threw out the rest ,paid 27 and change for this slop and a water .this place felt so generic might as well have gone to mcdonalds . To say I would never go here again is an understatment.

I wanted to give this place a try. Place is really clean and people are very friendly but the food IS NOT IT. It looks like try dogs food. How can you serve that to people?! Never spent money on something more ridiculous.

I order deliver, the food came late and it was cold, soggy and super dry and doesn't taste good at all. Immediately felt sick right after. I paid $25 for a plate and when it came, it just a samples not a food, . It was really waste of money. ADVICE DON"T ORDER FROM THIS PLACE

Gyroworld always has amazing food (me and my family typically order from the Flushing location), but this past Friday night, me and my date went to the Ridgewood location for dinner. Upon arriving, we sat down at an outside table to wait for our food after ordering at the window, and what seems to be the manager (older black guy with glasses) told us that's for the customers. We said that we're just waiting for our food to be ready, so we're saving the table, and he said okay. The place closes at 10 PM, and we got our food at about 9:45 almost. The manager then comes out and says "I told you that's for the customers" and we said we know. I mentioned that you guys aren't closed yet for another 15 mins, and he said as long as you finish eating by then, all's good. Me and my date start to mention how the manager seems rude and what not. After about 10 mins, we take our food to go, and my date went to get another bag for her portion. She talks to another worker there to get a bag, and the manager chimes in saying "what do you want" in a rude tone. My date starts getting slightly mad and says "I'm not speaking to you." The worker gives us another bag and we leave. I understand if the manager might have wanted to leave and go home, was in a bad mood, etc. But he was very rude to us, and I don't believe that's the way to treat your paying customers. I don't typically leave reviews for food places, but felt compelled to after this experience. Leaving a 1 star review to hopefully get someone's attention. Edit- Revising my review after the owner's kind of not true reply. First off, dine-in assumes "indoor dining", not outdoor seating, where our table was. As you're supposedly a restaurant owner, I'd assume you'd know that. Maybe your website should actually specify that outdoor seating gets removed around 9 PM, then, instead of assuming that a customer should automatically know that. Secondly, we didn't "dart over" to the table, it was freely available, and we went to it. No other employee came over to ask us anything, nor where they in the process of removing the table when we got there, so that's a lie. Nigel also knew we wanted to eat there after we got our food as we told him that, and all seemed/was fine after that. Thirdly, he said “Hey!” to my date at the end when she wanted to get a to-go bag, looked straight up at her and said “what do you want" rudely. If your security camera system supposedly told something else, maybe you need to replace them, just saying. Also, I doubt your surveillance cameras can pick up audio to hear what exactly was said, as that would be illegal.

Normally they are ok but I ordered the platter at 2:15 the food did not get here till 4:30. The platter was extremely low and my food was cold. ON TOP OF THAT THE DELIVERY DRIVER HAD two women in his car with NO MASKS !

Although they have outside seating, it's basically "To Go" and you can sit at a table, but that was ok. However, I didn't find them to be helpful or eager to provide service. Their Falafel was hard and cold. I ordered my sides as FF & Gr Salad. Had they told me that the Falafel came with L& T, then I would have ordered a different side. As a customer, service, friendliness & quality is key to good business.

Ordered 4 times and each time have messed it up - wrong size , wrong order , no dressing etc .. seriously?? When your paying $40-60 for two salads how do you mess it up each time ? The old manager never messed up , and this just someone not caring honestly learned my lesson- won’t be ordering again

I bought today night one pork souvlaki, but it was hard uncooked. I can't to eat it. Before I eaten many gyro, that's war good, but I found before a few times hair in my food. Last few times I come to late, because I finished after 10 o clock. The restaurant was open still, and I have to wait so many times, but sometimes they have just 1 order. So I am a chef, 37 years ago, I know, how to working a restaurant. I love the gyro!!! But I never coming again here, this is disaster

Wish I could give them no stars, worst customer service, very nasty and rude employees, especially the young guy, they take forever to finish a order, if you ask how much longer they always say 5 more min, 5 more min when it takes at least 30 min to get the order ready. Overall the worst experience ever, I would never go back there, dont waste your time there, the food its not worth the nasty attitude or the waiting time.

I ordered for delivery and they got my order wrong two times! First I ordered chicken, they sent me beef and lamb. After that I called them and asked them to send me either grilled chicken or breaded chicken and they sent me something completely different! They even charged me for pita bread and never sent it. So disappointed!

Don’t ever order from this place. After waiting over 2h for the order and waiting 30 minutes on the phone they talk with you with really bad attitude and then hang up on you. I called and not for the first time and i ordered GW plate large, when the order arrived we realized the pork gyro was missing!!!!!! I called back and they told me they do not have pork gyro only lamb and chicken! WHAT???? I ask '' when i ordered why they did not said anything about that?'' she said ''we don't have the pork gyro for the last 2 years!'' BS..last time i ordered it was pork gyro......Extremely disappointed.

Ordered buy one get one gyro on Uber eats. One gyro was loaded with chicken and the other one was empty with 80% white sauce. They use way too much white sauce and it's absolutely disgusting. The food also came cold.

Ordered 6 gyros for delivery from Uber Eats. The opened plastic bag that GyroWorld provided the delivery driver only had 5 gyros. I called GyroWorld to tell them they had only sent 5 instead of 6 and that they’re supposed to staple the bag they provide to the Uber delivery driver in order for the food to be safe. The lady that picked up the phone at 7:10Pm was very rude. She said it wasn’t their problem and that the driver had stolen the 1 missing gyro, abruptly ending the phone call. Never ordering from this mediocre “Greek” spot again.

Amazing food... but unfortunately really bad customer service, they don't accommodate customers needs, I've been 3 or 4 times here but when I call to make a delivery and ask them to place the fries on top of the meat instead of the bottom, they refused to take my order and made a big issue with the placement of the fries is not like I was asking for something out of the ordinary because I have asked them for this before when eating at the restaurant so I don't understand why they couldn't do it for a delivery order. I think delivery orders are as important as in orders and it they don't see this I don't know what they are doing in business.

I used to be a regular customer at this establishment and ordered from them frequently, but my recent experience was very disappointing. Not only did they forget to include my salad in my order, but the portion sizes of their dishes have also decreased significantly. The gyro chicken platter, for example, is now only half the size it used to be. As a result of these issues, I will not be ordering from this establishment again in the future

This place sucks. We called and ordered and they told use 30 mins. 1 hour passes and we didn’t get our food we called again and they told us 10 mins. After 10 mins we tried to call again and no one picked up. So let’s just say we didn’t eat gyros that night. 1 star never again

Had the most horrendous experience with this establishment. We ordered our food around 6pm, the food didn't get delivered till about 745pm. An hour and forty-five minutes and we couldnt even eat the food. We finally sit down to have our meal when we find a bug in the salad. I called to speak to someone and i was on hold for the majority of the phone call. a manager did not even come to the phone, no one apologized. He did not even introduce himself to me. After I explained that i would not feed this to my family he tried to give us store credit for the almost $20 salad. I would never order from this place ever again. He explained that his boss wasn't even there and that he would give me a call on Monday when he returned, as if the establishment is not open on the weekends. This was terrible customer service and I would honestly be surprised if i even receive a phone call from them. It would actually be honorable. I would give zero stars if i could.

After waiting over an 1.5 hour for our food and having to call them again, the food arrived and we were very disappointed. The grilled chicken was good but the lemon fries were super dry, the pork souvlaki was raw inside and the spanich pies were stale. I first called to ask for a replacement order of the pork souvlaki and they weren't nice about it but agreed to do so. After the call my friend and I tried the spinach pie and it was horrible!! I called again to complain since I paid $50 for the food, waited 1.5 hour and it was supposed to be a nice treat for my friend. The manager was very very rude. I ended up sending the spinach pies back so he could see what garbage he is feeding people. He refused to refund us for them first but I saw a refund posted to my account later. The delivery man was very nice and helpful. He actually cares about how the business does.

I just ordered a gyro with chicken and extra white sauce. The chicken was so dry and salty I had to throw it out. I don't know who's cooking but their food keeps getting worse. I won't be ordering from them anymore.

Placed an order tonight (Jan 9, 2026) for the SPECIAL Lunch & Dinner Box - Pork Gyro with BOGO side choice. I was charged for 3 full boxes at a steep subtotal of $70.53 (after a promo discount), plus 2 baklavas, totaling $56.16 paid after tax and offer. What arrived? Only 2 boxes and the side (lemon potatoes), plus the baklavas. They completely shorted me one entire pork gyro box – no refund, no note, nothing. This is straight-up theft. To top it off, the food that did show up was absolutely revolting. The pork gyro meat was dry, chewy, and tasted old – like it had been sitting around way too long. The pita was soggy from grease and poor packaging, the tzatziki was watery and flavorless, and everything was just a greasy, disappointing mess. Even the baklavas tasted stale and overly syrupy in a bad way. 1st time coming to this restaurant. After paying for my order, the man who took my order had a very bad disposition for no reason. I asked for sauce to be put on the side and he reacted ss if it was an issue. His disposition and facial expressions were very unsettling. Upon receiving my order I asked to pay for extra side sauces and there was an issue with the card transaction. Mind you I had just used it to pay for the food order. He asked for the card to input the numbers manually at which I said "thats okay", because I had decided to use another card. He aggressively pulled away from my hand and proceeded to do it anyway. The transaction still failed according to him (for unknown reason). I paid with another card and he rolled his eyes handing me back the 1st card. I had my grand daughter with me and did not want to tell him about himself in front of her. He handed me 1 of the sandwiches ordered and said the sauce was already added to it and that my request for the sauce to be on the side wasn't made in adequate time. That is completely false because all of the orders were placed at the same time and paid for at the same time, as well as the request for all sauce to be put on the side. I witnessed him tell the cook upon payment the instructions. The cook forgot and after the 1st sandwich was made the order taker asked him if he did it correctly and realized that the cook messed up. Instead of him having the cook make a new order fixed as requested, he thrust the bag on the counter and told me that it was my fault because I made the request late. Then he threw in an extra side sauce as if that was compensation. I explained that I was traveling and that would make my sandwich soggy, at which he shrugged his shoulder. There is a big sign that says no refunds, store credit only. I NEVER plan on returning to this establishment, therefore that wasn't an option. Upon leaving the store I checked my recent activity and in fact the charge for the sauces did go through and I was charged twice. The charge is minimal but the principal of how horrible their service was, is what rendered this unsatisfactory review. Additionally, once i got home to eat my sandwich, it wasn't as fresh or aa tasty as I have experienced with other Gyro shops. Never would I ever, recommend this place.

worst place ever … did not feel comfortable and customer service was horrible… foos was so-so … i’ve much better gyro from a little while in the wall spots …. you’re being overcharged for rudeness and nasty attitude from the elder gentleman at the register… keep your money and save your appetite for a much better place

recently ordered a pork Gyro with french fries from here. Hands-down, one of the worst Gyro sandwiches I’ve ever had the pork dried and taste like it had been fried as opposed to coming off of a spit. I had never heard of a pork Gyro before this as I was always used to chicken or lamb. I figured I would try it out for the first time big mistake. This was definitely not good or appetizing won’t be back.

I have been a long time customer, it’s sad to say I have finally decided to no longer come to this restaurant. They just a loyal customer, whoever runs gyro world needs a change of staff especially the hostess. He is rude and has a nasty attitude, it’s not first time but I’m observant enough that it’s not the first time. Not only that as the years go by the food as well taste horrible. We ordered Tray of Gyro and beftuki. They came burned. We contacted them, and they said it is not really burned. We can not do anything about it . My kids refused to eat it. We order all they time from them and loyal customers. Very bad customer service, so disappointed
