These donuts always taste fresh and for the most part they usually have all of the different kinds during all parts of the day. Whether I go Saturday morning, or Wednesday at midnight, these donuts are on point 👌

I love this place, it's right down the street from my work. I love their Natural juices,.& Their chocolate milkshakes are unforgetingly delicious. I recommended the milk shakes for sure.

Haven't had Winchell's since about 1989. It was just as good as I remember. Their prices are a little steep, but the Donuts are good, none the less.

So, I was a bit skeptical of the place before going here. I saw that there were good reviews, but I also saw bad ones. Therefore, I asked my friends that lived around the area for their opinion. All of them raved about it, and nearly had a food orgasm just talking about it. Then, that's when I decided to give Winchell's a try. The donuts here are SO good! I even went late at night after work around 1am and they were still fresh and delicious. I got a dozen and they were STILL good after two days!!! They're not greasy at all and they're not small either. Also, fyi my friend told me there is a drive thru, but that's not true. So after 12am the door closes and they open up a cute little window for you to walk up to, and order from 24/7!

This place is awesome. The last few times I’ve been here, all the bagels and donuts have been super fresh. The pastrami sandwich on a bagel is amazing. I really like this place and the hours are super convenient !

Love the tuna sandwiches, but everything is good. There are a lot of homeless people in the area, but nothing Winchell's can do. That's just Riverside, lately.

Fun and great employees, coffee was great. I had a work function and called at 6am to get the 96 oz coffee and 3 dozen donuts, showed up at 7 and was ready to go. Fast!!

Winchells is definitely a grade A donut shop, just stopped by with my girlfriend for some hot sandwiches an some donuts. An they are by far the best I've had in quite some time! Friendly worker as well. Definitely recommend an I'll definitely be back!

This place is so bomb! Their donuts and breads are cooked there and are delicious. My fave is the hot pastrami on croissant. I also tried a pineapple Danish. The cheese tasted like real cream cheese not the artificial stuff found in a Danish from Circle K you know. I haven't tried a burrito yet. Next time I might, but I'm so hooked on the hot pastrami so I don't know. Haha

This place is awesome I can never go to another donut shop that is better in food service, even have the local homeless community to banter back and forth with. Awesome atmosphere. Every thing is great the donuts, the coffee the hot chocolate all top notch! The service is awesome all the people who work here are beyond friendly and the prices are more than reasonable

After my partner said that Winchell's was a staple here, I had to try it. We went early in the morning and it was quite busy, but the staff are very fast! At the time their back door was broken so we had to go in and out through one door which was awkward. The donuts were fresh and delicious, and their coffee really hit the spot. The spot does seem to be popular among the unhoused asking for you to buy them food, but you can politely decline.

All the employees appeared well trained which make the experience better and munch faster. I like the way they toast the ham and cheese croissants unlike other place they have them already prepped and just throw them in the microwave. Keep the good work coming!

So...Winchell's has this "fruit burrito" that comes in apple or cherry....it is delicious, at least in cherry it is. It contains cherry goo and some sort of cheese. Yum, the only improvement I could see would be using cherry pie filling instead of filler with no fruit. Its also deep fried and covered in glaze. 10 out of 10 would devour again.

Great staff, management, donuts and sandwiches. I personally just feel that it is a little over priced. That's why I gave them four stars instead of five.

I love their donuts, very good. Workers are very nice, great customer service. The only thing is sometimes they serve stale donuts. They say they bake 24hrs a day, but I've gotten a few stale ones.

Winchell's is a classic donut shop with great variety. The only issue I have is the location, hard parking and getting in and out. Also, Chicago and University is rough corner. Donuts are amazing and so are the breakfast bagels.

This place is very popular early in the morning. Expect to be there at least ten minutes. They do have adequate staff so you feel better about the wait. Food is always fresh and coffee is great.

Who doesn't Love Donuts, and these are exspecially GREAT. Staff isn't so good not helpful a bit it's like they don't like there jobs, yet if I had the owner hoving over me constantly I'd hate my job too. Price very high , and sometimes I'm to scared to get out of the car, lots of people hanging in the parking lot .

If you're looking to get a hot cup of brew and a freshly baked donut, this is a place where you can always count on to be open. Very fast. The only problem with this place is lack of parking. That's why four stars because of the parking space.

Fresh donuts, great coffee( I don't drink it but it smells awesome), they juice veggies, awesome breakfast sandwiches, wraps, and the people working there are so friendly and polite. Each time I go there is a line of people so they must be doing something right. If you ever get out to Riverside check out the Winchell's on University and Chicago, you won't be disappointed.

Large donut selection to choose from. The only donut shop that takes your favorite bear claws etc and makes them smaller. That way, you can enjoy them when ordering a dozen or more. And if you want the original pastry size, they have it. Donuts are rich in flavor with a flakiness you'll enjoy. And you'll find the donuts hold up and remain delicious a day later. Only complaint was, the dining area could've been cleaner.

There are so many yummy looking donuts here. I let the children each pick something and they really didn't like their donuts. I had a cream cheese muffin that was really good. Their breakfast bagel sandwich wasn't that great. The Orange carrot juice was amazing.

I come to this location often and is usually great service and food is good. Lately it's become difficult to order without using Spanish as that's mostly what the newly hired people speak. Today I came in to order their breakfast deal, bagel, doughnut and a coffee. I get my coffee and doughnut and go sit down. The cashier starts talking with another guest, no problem. Expect the cashier was the one that was supposed to make my bagel and forgot about it. It honestly feels like I have to speak Spanish to get real service like they used to offer.

Only gave this place 3 stars because the taste of food is good and I like it enough to come back for more however 😑 their customer service is lacking and their speed of service 👎Had to wait 20 mins for my meal deal which consists of a sandwich drink and donut or chips. This place gets CROWDED because people wait inside for their orders so not only do you have a line for people waiting to order but also for the people who are waiting for their food. And let's not forget the 6ft rule and covid, well let's just say ain't nobody care about those guidelines here 😤😑 me and by bf choose to wait outside for our food however this place doesn't have a speaker outside to call out order numbers so we are constantly poking our heads in to see if our number has been called. Parking sucks here, there are 3 spaces and 1 handicap in the front of the store and 4 spaces in the back of the store. I personally rather go park across the street and walk then have to deal with the horrible parking and exiting out of there since there is always traffic trying to get out of here. The staff and even the manager aren't friendly, no smiles, just "what can I get you?" 😐 If it wasn't for their meal deal special I wouldn't come here at all.

Yes Winchell Coffee is very good. That given, parking is awful. Steady vagrant stream at University /Chicago makes leaving your car sketchy at best. Customer service as hard to find as a parking spot. If you drive a half mile east to Starbucks or same west to McDonald's you'd be doin yourself a favor.

Employees helped a customer before me who came in AFTER I did, the employee who made my food didn't use sanitary gloves even though they were available (the other employee used them for food prep), and even though I asked for a regular I was charged and given a large size. Not that hard to correct these problems, people. They get two stars because the Banana Chocolate Chilla was delicious.

Rude and unfriendly staff. I needed 2 dozen donuts. The lady who finally addressed me was apparently bothered to have to take my order. No other customers were in the store. It seemed to take longer than it should to get service. She was unfriendly, tried to guess ahead of what i needed, i suppose to rush thew it, and if she responded loud enough, her answers were short and impartial. I asked 3x for her to repeat the total. She wouldn't speak louder or slower to even try to understand. I wont go back.

Popped in at 4am to order a bagel sandwich. Second time ever being here. Connie the cashier looked as if she wanted to die and was literally no help at all to the point that I could’ve hopped behind the line and took my own order. I’ve never had a cashier stare at me with a blank face waiting on ME to just, figure out the total? to end the conversation? asked a simple question and got attitude and my change thrown into my hand. great employees you got here, very friendly 😂 wasted my gas if you’re not willing to work and do your job right don’t show up

Not clean at all. The tables were dirty with crumbs and napkins all over the place. There is area to fix coffee with creamer and sugar, no no no it was dirty as well. It had coffee stains & sugar all over. The young girls were not busy but still never bothered to look down the aisle or clean the table. I had to drag a chair from another table to sit down. The Cashier was nice. Donuts were good, coffee was ok. Be careful the area is not the safest. Overall I definitely do not recommend this place to anyone.

Winchell's seems to be trying to move into other markets. I had already had donuts elsewhere, so I ordered a sausage egg and cheese on a whole wheat bagel. It was fine, but nothing to write home about. The servers also were fine. Their payment system wanted a tip before providing any service, super annoying, but typical to the service counter restaurant industry. The low score is because All of the 6 or 7 tables in the restaurant were dirty and when I tried to ask for a rag to clean one, I couldn't anyone's attention. I'd give them another shot. They did have some construction going on.

I walked in, tables were dirty I had to ask to for mine to be clean and they didn’t do a complete wipe down. My ham and cheese is currently messing up my stomach, orange juice was good. They seem cordial, but at least keep the tables clean and check the expiration dates on the food. My first and last time coming here

I've been to Winchells but at this place, I will not come back here again. The lady serving has a bad attitude, asked for a dozen but won't mix even I've told her I'll pay. Plus the donuts weren't even fresh.

I called the place, placed two separate orders. I was told it would take 15 min. Get there 20 min later, apparently there was a mix up and my order was never made. All while one of the employees is looking at me like I did something wrong.Then the cashier can't seem to figure out how to charge the orders separate.

I just ordered a croissant and it was hard. They tried to microwave it without asking. I asked for money back and the manager didn't offer an apology or offer to make it right. This experience was just bad.

Came in today and the person behind the counter was having a conversation with a customer. Meanwhile I am waiting right behind him and I notice the conversation was about auto repair which had nothing to do with food. I stood there for a min and waited but nothing was leading nowhere, then another customer walks up and gets served. The two people in front of me noticed that and now he just orders something from the menu . Smh worst customer service ever, I just walked out of there like I had no business being there.

We always order our food through DoorDash and every time the service is HORRIBLE! One occasion the manager actually argued with my husband about drink sizes! And told us that we had to take it up to doordash TF?! If there was another location closer I would go there !

I have been going to winchell's for at least 10 years. I use to go to the one in Hintington Beach, but when I moved to Riverside.I started to go to the one and Riverside and also to the one in Perris. Donuts used to be so good with not a lot of oil or at least did not taste to much of the oil. But right know all locations that I have gone too the donuts are dripping in oil plus the taste of oil is very noticible and oil is all you can taste. I hope thwy can change the way they bake tje donuts so they can be and taste like the ones I bought 10 years ago.

The one star goes to the kind customer service I received, but sadly I went for the doughnuts. Horse fly playing in the doughnuts, so they got rid of them, but sadly there wasn't a fly on all of them because the doughnuts were not good at all. All I tasted was lightly cooked chunks of dough with a nice glaze over them. Stale cereal on fancy doughnuts. Apple filled bear claw was a big ball of dough with a few little pouches of apple filling. I have always finished a doughnut, but I could not yesterday. Save your money and invest a little more on gas and go to DONUT CITY on Elizabeth and Magnolia. Will be worth it, cash only. Don't get me wrong if you want a juice or bagel sandwich go here because it's just like Yum yums. But if you want a doughnut this is not your place

Was denied service (and was very hungry) for not having mask and when asked for one available they got mad and said they "don't have mask". Unbelievable customer service first and last time visiting this place. And to think I was gonna try there delicious bagels but seems the HISPANIC lady thought I was just another Hispanic (Naco) and we'll I'm not from Mexico born and raised in Riverside California. So prejudice towards men of my color but it's because she deal with a lot of them in the morning (construction workers). Again wrong move judging me! BIG MISTAKE.

Now they served me a bland vanilla iced coffee that KILLED my taste buds and when I kept asking for it to be remade sweeter like I have it normally made she kept asking so more sugar? The manager with the curly mulet hairstyle has bad attitude does not have a professional way to attend customers as I am a common customer today he was having a really bad day he makes physical body language with attitude face expressions with attitude he can't handle a situation without attitude and that's who's the face of your restaurant maybe need to check your cameras more often I walked out without the food I ordered over the phone , due to his Unprofessionalism and attitude. I did not catch his name. But he been there for years now.

Although I am a local & don't frequent this location often, I was appalled at the way the employees treated the local people who seemed to be down on there luck, or otherwise homeless! There, in the grace of God goes I. Most of us are just a pay check ( and a couple bad choices) away from being on the street ourselves. If society's are judged by how it treats it's most vulnerable members, tham this one fails miserably!

Winchells donut shop is were I regularly would stop for donuts. But after last nights visit 8/10/23 I will never go there again. I Stopped by last night around 8pm for some donuts and saw a disgusting surprise On back of the building. I Saw over 10 big rats run right in front of us. So I’m sure they will be inside also. Then to top it off when I go in to order some donuts there’s a fly landing on multiple donuts and sesame bread. I notified the young employee about the fly on the food and he was careless just smirked and let the fly continue to land on donuts. I was expecting for him to throw that food away but he didn’t do anything about it he left it there to be sold. Very unhealthy for us consumers.if I could put zero stars I would. This place needs to be checked asap by health department.

One star for being open 24 hours if you're starving but truth be told, I went here on a Sunday Morning. Of course I expected it to be packed but I thought it would be packed cause the food was good. Incorrect! The carrot cake muffin was absolutely disgusting and the chocolate glaze they use is equally nasty. I'm disappointed cause I wanted this to be my go to place for a quick sweet however that's not the case. Even the kids didn't finish their glaze or chocolate covered donuts and that REALLY makes a statement in itself.

I stopped by today (6/14/24) to grab some coffee this morning at about 7am. The location appears clean from the inside. There was someone panhandling right outside of the door. The location is in a busy corner and parking is a bit awkward. You may want to park at Walgreens and walk over if necessary. Typically, I love Winchells coffee from any of their locations. It's mild in flavor, smooth, and fresh! The coffee was all that. The quality of my coffee was great. My poor rating of this location is based on the rude treatment I received by the tall male with glasses that was at the register. I walked up, and there was no line. I checked. I walked up to the counter, and after getting an odd look, he pointed to the other end of the shop where the donut counter is and told me that I needed to move to order. He didn't explain why. He just said that I needed to move to place my order. I asked if that was the case for just coffee as well. I was only ordering coffee and nothing else. He very rudely repeated that I needed to move to the other end to place the order. Honestly, if there is a specific system of ordering, I would completely understand, but the rudeness isn't necessary. I don't stop by any business expecting to be treated in a rude manner. If he just didn't want to help me, he could've just simply told me that someone else would be able to help me without all the rude attitude. Sadly, there were witnesses to all of this, but no one said anything else. There was another male who heard the whole thing but he turned a blind eye. I've been a loyal customer of Winchells establishments for years. I was in the area and stumbled on this location. However, I don't understand the need to treat any customer poorly, especially if it's uncalled for. I hope someone from management reads this and reaches out to me. This was very upsetting.

There are two people literally making dough in the back at 1am and telling me to wait, when they are open 24 hours. They wouldn’t open the window nor attend me. I left. On their donut shelves it’s all full, so not sure why they are making all these made dough when I’m there waiting at 1am with some sketchy loiters. I JUST WANTED A DONUT!

Donuts taste like old dirty oil

Personally, I’d never go there again. I went with my sisters and we were very disappointed with the iced blended coffees, I couldn’t even finish mine neither could my sisters. The mocha cappuccino tasted like melted chocolate ice cream and the mocha caramel was extremely sweet. I also ordered a creme danish and there were parts that were nice and crunchy but there were other places, like the middle that were poorly cooked. Although, the chocolate donuts and the cream cheese bagel were the only items that were good, the amount of money that I spent here was not worth it.

Horrible service with the homeless ! I understand they can be a lot don't get me wrong but this man wasn't doing anything to them ! They are the type of "senoras" if you work with them they will gossip ! They need to work on their service and clean the coffee pots ! Coffee tasted burnt!

This place needs to close down asap. All the employees are rude especially the tall guy with the glasses. They literally had people waiting around for nothing, like what is the point of placing an order. I waited 30 mins for a bagel!!!!! The place is very unsanitary, floors are sticky flies landing on the food. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.

The lady’s told us to wait i had no issue until they had an order for one sandwich and both lady’s are doing the one sandwich, talking, giggling. I bout 6 donuts and they charged me 12, I ask fotr my money back at the store and after a month they still have not refounded. I went back to the store so they could give me 6 donunts instead of the money back but they denied to do so. I think I will have to file a law suit to the chain.

There needs to be some kind of system in place where customers order on one end of the building and get their food from the other side, or something. You can't step foot into the place, there is 1 tiny walkway and PILES of people. It is not even worth trying to get service, either, as there are so many other people in the way that you can't even figure out what on the menu there is to try. 0/10, I hate places like this, so overly crowded and small that you can't even get into the place. Put in a better ordering system so other people can get in, not only CROWDS.

The employees are unsatisfactory. One dumped mop water in front of the entrance. I was in flip flops. Why would i want to walk through a puddle to gain entrance to your store? Then i let one of their other employees know about it and he didn’t reply. Extremely rude. I ask the worker cleaning the windows, what flavor one of their donuts were, he didn’t know English. Now im all for immigration and helping humans gain a better life, but you should at least know how to get by at your job. This visit was my first and last. I will never be coming back here again.
