Great food! The service is good as well. Some posts mentioned that the food came slowly, but that didn’t happen to us. People are all very helpful (We went at 8:30pm)
Best Chinese food in town, this food would be considered old school cooking with a great presentation. I highly recommend coming here.
This was our second visit in less than a month. The food was so amazing and savory the first time, we just needed to know if it could be replicated. The place was packed, but we were seated quickly. As soon as we walked in the door, the aroma was intoxicating, we knew we would not be disappointed. We were the only Caucasians in the entire place, or so it seemed. Call us whatever you want, but authentic Cantonese and a house full of like clients tells us something. Tonight we tried the Sweet/Sour soup. It was flavorful and perfectly tart. Just the right amount of everything & not salty. We had to have the Honey Walnut Shrimp again, they melted perfectly on the tongue. Very fresh and tender. We opted for the Chicken Chow Mien tonight. Not sure how they do it, but the chicken was tender and flavorful. The noodles were perfectly pan fried but not greasy at all. Plenty left to take home. This place gets another 5 stars from us. We’re definitely going back!
Delicious authentic chinese food. Large menu. We try to try something new everytime but its hard to stray from the favorites. Try the beef short ribs with pumpkin or the rib eye steak japanese style. The cod fish fillet with eggplant is good too and you cant go wrong with honey walnut prawns.
We went there with a family of 7 to celebrate Chinese New Year. My son was hesitant to eat there when we first arrived due to the less than stellar exterior appearance of the restaurant, but by the end of dinner, he asked if we could eat there again! We ordered the banquet meal. It came with 10 items. For the most part it was quite delicious and definitely well priced. We also ordered the chow fun and chow mein which were about what one would expect. Overall, the experience reminded me of the banquets in SF’s China Town I used to go to when I was a kid, especially the way the lobster was prepared, which is lacking in the Greater Sacramento Area. I’m 39 years old and have lived in Sac my entire life for perspective, but I digress…The only item I was hesitant to eat on the set menu was the sea cucumber, but surprisingly it was pretty good! Well, the bbq platter was the usual “BBQ platter” served at Chinese banquettes. They had the usual weird cold chicken and pork, but at least they had crispy pork belly! My favorite was the Peking duck. It’s my favorite food and it was quite delicious; about what you would expect from a restaurant that serves a decent Peking duck. The hoisin sauce was a little thicker than I would like though. Must have been home made. The buns they gave for the duck were bigger than the average restaurant, which was a good thing for us. (I usually have to ask for more). It was more than comparable to the duck at one of the best rated Chinese restaurants in the Natomas area that I regularly eat at; about $20 cheaper too. For that reason alone, I will be back to this restaurant. Again, Peking duck is my favorite food and it was definitely worth $28 for a whole duck. It wasn’t the best I’ve ever had, but definitely up to par if you like Peking duck. The mango juice that was served mid-meal was a pleasant surprise. I read some reviews and thought it would taste like it was from powder, but it actually the real deal; nice and thick like it was from a real mango. The only downside was the service in the latter part of the meal. It was by no fault of the employees working there. They just seemed very short staffed for the amount of tables they had to serve. I felt bad that the servers had to work so hard. We were lucky and showed up at 5:00 on a Saturday. They weren’t busy when we got there but it was quite crowded by about 6:00. My recommendation is to get there early if you don’t want to wait. But it’s not bad if you enjoy your company. Overall I would say this place is solid if you like authentic Chinese food, and the prices are super reasonable. If you haven’t been before, give it a shot. That’s what my family did and it was well worth the risk.
This hole-in-the-wall neighborhood spot is always fire! We typically just get the basics like chow mein, fried rice, general chicken, etc but they have a whole clay pot and lots of other things on the menu too. Amongst the best chow mein in town
I can't say enough good things about this hidden away restaurant. The Chinese food is tasty, not too salty, and the food is just super tasty. A few days ago, I had beef+pork chow fun (wide, soft rice noodle) and it was excellent. There was plenty of beef, bbq pork and veggies, and on this dish, the gravy was excellent. Some time ago, my family held a reception at T Kee and everyone was pleased with the food. We had 100 or so guests, and the food came out fairly quickly. Best of all, the tasty food is moderately priced. If you order your food to go, the servings are large too (meaning you get your money's worth). Very delish food!
Good Authentic Cantonese cuisine. I recommend going if you want authentic Cantonese Chinese food. If you like Panda Express or grocery store "Chinese" food this place isn't for you. I'm half Chinese so I know this place is good. My aunt used to own a Chinese restaurant supply store next door and my other Aunt used to own and run Hong Kong Wok now called New Hong Kong Wok just down the street on Freeport Blvd. She still owns the building there.
Oh man , what can I say. My wife was craving for Chinese food and we found this restaurant. We read reviews and the location seemed a little crowded because of parking. But the service was a 4 star but food was beyond 5 stars. I ate something that tastes similar to Mexican menudo. It was delicious. Chow main and rise had this really good flavor to it. Thanks for such tasty food .
Fantastic and authentic Cantonese cuisine! The more I try it, the better it gets. My family loves it is as well. I will let the pictures do the talking. Rice is quality as well, and the staff is really nice and patient. Parking is average, and weekends can be a little busy, but we always found a spot. Fish and seafood are fantastic, as well as the soups/pots. Pretty family friendly, and a nice atmosphere. But the quality of the food is what makes it shine. Enjoy!
I enjoyed the food and the service was great. Seats were a little to close for my comfort but still enjoyable to eat my food. Everyone was nice and very respectful I would recommend coming here and trying some food.
T Kee Restaurant is a famous Chinese restaurant in Sacramento. The food is delicious, and the price is reasonable. The customer service is pretty average compared to the other Chinese restaurants in the area. The dining room is comfortable and clean. However, the parking lot is too crowded, and it is hard to find a parking space most of the time. Sometimes I have to park my car far away!
yum, food is authentic, and service is great! Atmosphere actually good but Sometimes they are really busy. Waiters always polite even they are super busy. Ps: clay pot rice is a must-try dine-in item, better call them order ahead of time (around 30 minutes) before arrival.
We’ve now eaten at T Kee several times. The food is wonderful to say the least. They have both Americanized & authentic Chinese food. We’ve loved nearly all things we’ve tried so far. We didn’t care for the Sizzled Chicken with Ginger Sauce, but it’s only because we didn’t care for the sauce. We had to try it though. How will you ever know whether you like something that you’ve never tried unless you DO try it. As you can see from the video of it that I took, it was cooked to PERFECTION!! The place is REALLY busy, so it takes a long time to get your food, but believe me, it’s well WORTH THE WAIT!! The staff are all nice and explain things when you ask questions. The place itself reminds me of Chinese restaurants I grew up being in. I like that. We’re very happy with this place!!! Our favorites so far are the Sizzled cod & prawns, stir-fry ribeye steak Japanese style, stir-fry ribeye steak with mushrooms, and let’s not forget both types of scrambled egg chow fun. The mustard greens are stupendously good!! We’ll continue to go back and try new dishes and enjoy dishes we’ve already decided that we love.
First time here upon friends recommendations. It did not disappoint. We ordered Seafood Carrot Pea Sprout Soup Frog W/Preserved Meat over Rice in Casserole (Small) Sizzling Tofu w Seafood Honey walnut prawns Fujian Fried Rice Beef Chow Mein Peking Spare Ribs Service was slow but the food came out fast once ordered. Just one waiter for the whole place. Instead of water they give you Mango juice which was a nice surprise. Everything was excellent. My only criticism would be too much sauce on the Peking Spare Ribs, they also could have been cut smaller. They were HUGE strips of pork. Everyone loved the soup which is my favorite from New Lai Wah. The Honey walnut prawns we're excellent. The beef Chow Mein was really tasty! My favorite is the Sizzling Tofu w Seafood I will be back
Coming back here I can always expect high rated Chinese food. By far one of the best Chinese restaurant gems in Sacramento. Located in the intersection of Fruitridge and Freeport.
The Wife and I had tried to come here a couple of months ago, but they were closed. Today we wanted to get something quick but some places were closed so the Wife insisted we go to TKee. I wanted something quicker so I resisted. I am Very glad we did. The General chicken was very tasty, though I would have preferred a bit more heat, the stir fried beef with gaitan was perfect....yes, I said perfect and the hot and sour was great. Not the best I've ever had, but excellent none the less. Don't go here, it's already too crowded. They don't need your business. But if you don't go, you'll regret it for ever.
Great food. Big portions. The radish brisket clay pot and the spare rib clay pot rice are really good - we get this every time. Beef chow fun and yin yang fried rice also good (pictured) They have more big tables than small tables. Come ready to eat!
Chinese food. We ordered the Taishan style specialty yellow eel rice in porcelain pot, comes with lots of chopped Chinese sausage and lap yuk (bacon Cantonese style) $35 for small, takes half hour to cook so call to order before you go. Filled up me and my 5 and 8 year old kids. I ate too much, and my kids ate two bowls each. They will eat rice if flavorful and there is stuff in it. Also have free mango drinks each person. Will go back.
Great Chinese restaurant in the neighborhood, the clay pot rice was the bomb, really authentic and tasty !
We have a friend from Hong Kong that has graciously treated us to this hidden gem twice now. The first time was pre Covid. Our friend did all of the ordering of more traditional dishes for 6 of us, all of which were fresh and delicious. We were blessed to go again last night (with reservations and only 2 other tables occupied in the whole place) This round there were 9 of us. Again, our friend did all of the ordering. I was surprised that he ordered mostly "American" Chinese dishes! Amazing food quality and service. Literally, every bite was wonderful! Side note: My spouse dislikes any and all Asian food. In 12 years and my trying to get him to like the most basic of dishes he would not eat anything until now! A miracle!! This will be our only Chinese dinner "go-to"!!

We really enjoy coming here for large groups or family gatherings. They have lots of items on the menu and also family meal specials you can select from. Every dish is always so flavorful and has generous portions. The staff is attentive and always working hard to serve us, even when it gets busy. Definitely delicious authentic chinese food and you won't be disappointed.

This is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants to go with family. I really love the Ambiance inside they have a big seating area where you can have a table of 10 or more. They even have small tables as well. They also give you mango juice or Hong Kong iced tea on the house when you dine in which is a really nice touch. Some of my favorite dishes here is their special chow mein with seafood. The noodles is very fresh egg noodles and they put a lot of vegetables and seafood and different Meats as well. Also we love their shredded chicken salad which comes with lettuce and cilantro and has it really nice fresh flavor. We also like ordering their sweet and sour spirits. The pork spirit is soft and tender and has a really nice Tangy sauce. Also we love ordering their pork knuckle which is a really big bone and has some meat and they even cut up the meat and each meat piece has a crispy pig skin on top. Also we love ordering their fried rice which is very comforting and also very flavorful and we like ordering the salt fish with chicken fried rice. They also have amazing Clay Pot rice with different toppings like black bean sauce spirits and then also dry duck and Chinese sausage in The Clay Pot rice. Overall they provide really good service and always pay attention to detail and making sure our tea and water is always not empty. Also the parking outside is quite big so there is lots of parking but sometimes it gets full and we need to park across the street. Have you been what's your favorite and what is your to go to order if you've been here. Thanks for reading and have a yelptastic day.
No wait on a Sat night. Parking can be a challenge. Stuff are just above decent. Had the crab meat fish tummy soup , too much white pepper powder. Beef steak cube was pretty good. The cold chicken could use more seasonings/marinate time but as-is could pass. The stream salty fish meat cake I would recommend but it's not for everyone. Everything was eaten as soon as they arrived. No picture. Portions are fair, not generous for most. Some like pork chop based stuff was pretty generous. Prices on par with local restaurants.
Food was tasty and we were able to reserve two tables for our family. They're were a lot of people during the weekend so make sure to reserve. Also don't be late with the reservation. The only problem was the receipt they accidentally added an extra fried rice to the bill. Though the waiter was able to clear it up.
This place is legit Taishanese / Cantonese food. Got the mushroom steak, hand pulled chicken, the garlic clam, and the yellow eel clay pot rice. The seafood is fresh, the meat is of food quality and well seasoned, the clay pot eel rice is good. I'm not much for chicken, but the chicken person liked it.
Hong Kong style food. Delicious Clay Pot Rice, we had a small size of pork rib/sausage one. The small size is big enough for 6 people to share. It took 30 minutes to receive this dish, but it's worth the wait. Sweet and sour pork with pineapple is original and tasty. We are also impressed with the Lamb Clay Pot. We will definitely come again to try other dishes. Friendly staffs. We had the fresh mango juice drink as the free treat. It was a very pleasant experience with this Chinese style restaurant.
The food was awesome! We had two dishes and a small bowl of steam rice tonight. The first dish was steam two jumbo clams with garlic source and bean vermicelli. And the second one was stir fry beef with wild mushrooms. Both of them were outstanding and delicious. The presentation was beautiful. They were colorful, aromatic and tasty. Their price was reasonable. The only reason why I gave them four starts was their bathroom was dirty and stinking. Their interior décor was old and light on the ceiling was broken.
Stopped in here for a family dinner during a week night. It was not too busy. There were about 16 of us sitting side by side between two large round tables. Food came out in a timely fashion, except for the steamed rice. It came out in the middle of our meal since our waitress forgot. Beverages took a bit as well but I get it, they're understaff these days. Food tasted good. There were no leftovers from our table. Gotta love the lazy Susan which helps when dining as a group. We shared the following dishes (Left to right): Braised tofu & fried fish (contains pork belly which is not in the description of the dish) We love it but for those who don't eat pork, nix it out. Honey Walnut Shrimp (classic & scrumptious) Crab & Corn Soup (think corn chowder Asian style so it's lighter & does not contain dairy) Hong Kong Style Spareribs (similar to sweet & sour sauce) Oong Choy w/Garlic (Asian greens, oily but deliciously crunchy & fragrant) Beef Chow Fun (we prefer dry - you have the option of ordering it wet meaning w/gravy or sauce on top) Parking is not an issue even though the lot is shared with other businesses in this small plaza. T Kee is a little hidden, wedged in the corner but not hard to locate.

For me, the sauce of the dish was too salty, but the meat itself was not flavourful
The food is okay. The service is great. Decent Chinese food if you're looking for it.

Food is normally pretty good, but I recently ordered the salt fish steamed pork and it was sour. Gave some to the staff and owner to try and they tried to convince me that's how it's supposed to taste. Trust me it's not. I've had it at several different restaurant including many times at T Kee and it has never been sour before.
Foods are barely acceptable. Some popular dish was not circulating well like roast pork was getting rancid should not be served to customers. Servers do not have initiative at all. You have to move settings from other tables to help setting up your own. Rest rooms do not look nice and extremely smelly.
Title: A Jarring Disappointment Amidst High Expectations Despite the numerous positive reviews that led me to this restaurant, my experience was a regrettable disappointment. I placed an online order anticipating a swift and stress-free pickup based on the glowing feedback I had read. However, the reality was far from my expectations. The restaurant failed to honor the agreed pickup time, creating an unwarranted disruption in my schedule. Further exacerbating the situation, they declined to cancel the order despite not having initiated its preparation. Such inflexibility and disregard for customer convenience were shocking, to say the least. In addition to the service shortcomings, the food quality was an unpalatable surprise. The dishes I received were devoid of the vibrancy, flavor, and culinary finesse one would expect based on the reviews. The best I could describe the meal was 'mediocre,' which felt like a huge letdown given the anticipation. While I understand that restaurants can have their busy moments, the absence of communication and quality food is unacceptable. Unfortunately, this establishment proved to be a stark contrast to its high-rated reviews, demonstrating neither empathy nor culinary excellence. Based on this experience, I find it difficult to endorse this restaurant. I sincerely hope they consider this feedback seriously and strive to enhance their customer service and culinary standards to match their online reputation.
This place is not fun for people who is traveling. I drove from the other state, wanted to have some old grandma food. But I got a confused with there language written, so I tried to call. The person answered telling different info about re-opening. I saw Friday in Chinese, Tuesday in English, and the person told me Saturday. Anyway, leaving Sacramento tmw, will not be able to make it anyhow. Thanks for closing on me.
I received a recommendation from a friend to try out this restaurant. Before heading there, we called ahead and were informed that they offered set meals and that single orders would take some time. We decided to give it a try. However, upon arriving at the restaurant, we found the set meals to be unappealing and discovered that single orders would actually require a wait of one and a half hours. Furthermore, the waiter didn't even seat us. Had they been more transparent about the lengthy wait time when we made the initial call, we would not have gone through the trouble of driving to the restaurant. We were disappointed by the somewhat misleading treatment we received, which felt like a semi-bait and switch. Please note that this review solely focuses on the service provided and does not reflect our opinion on the food.
the workers are bullies and almost brought my wife to tears - wife and I came here for lunch and she ordered beef chow fun. the menu lists dry/wet. my wife specified dry but unfortunately the dish came out wet. When she mentioned she asked for dry (our daughter wont eat wet) they blamed her for not specifying and tried to bully her to keep it and eat it. We refused to take it and wanted it replaced with the correct dish. Server came back out and tried to make her case that we are wrong again and to take the dish again which we adamantly said no. We ended up just paying what we did order and eat. (green beans with mince pork is good) Its unacceptable to treat your customers like this to the point where we lost our appetite. We wont be coming back here again.
Meat is not fresh, tastes stink! Very bad Waitress attitude and service, NOT recommended.
No thank you. The food is okay but the customer service is so scary…. We ordered a plate to share but the lady was trying to get me order more … anyway I am not gonna come here again and don’t recommend this place for anyone looking for a enjoy dine in restaurant in Sacramento
