Food was great. Service was good. Had the eggs Francisco. It's great to have a breakfast named after you. Lol. Kirby queso was really good, something they're famous for. But the real winner was the pancakes. Had the blueberry. Amazing! Very light, airy and fluffy. Each bite filled with sweet-tart fruity flavor. Took my sister for the first time and she approved. You need to make this place your next favorite brunch spot. Most definitely recommend this place!
2nd try to eat here. Last time we tried the wait was over an hour so we had to pass unfortunately. Today we opted to sit at the bar - (open seating) and the experience was superb. Absolutely delicious food. We had a birds eye view of the production team. Quiet heads down working hard to serve on a very busy Saturday mid day. I will be back. My order of Eggs Francisco was perfect!!! Thanks for the great food and the great service! 5 stars all!!!
we had 7 people in our group and they were able to get us on the list and it was still only a 15 min wait when we got there but it was packed! I got the harvest chicken and it was absolutely perfect, I normally get the green chile mac and that’s also insanely good. They also have really good Bloody Marys and coffee!
Found this cozy little restaurant next to a carvana dealership. The menu was fresh and popping. Our server, Sabrina was awesome. Her friendliness and attitude were inspiring. The chilaquilles and migas were heavenly. The chips that were served with the queso almost tasted like doritos. They have local artístico sell the restaurants wall decorations. I highly recommend people visit this eatery and say hello to Sabrina from us.
This place does have an outdoor seating area. I saw a dog bowl on the wall as we walked in, but I didn't see anyone in the area, as it was a cold day, or any signage about dogs, so I can't answer for sure about whether or not it's dog friendly. They had booster seats, high chairs, and booth seating options indoors. Be aware that the booths have a little crevice on the inside wall that things can get dropped into. We were playing a card game while waiting for food and my 5 year old dropped a card in the crevice, and it took us a while to get it out, but we got it. We like to have a family breakfast out once a week or so, and we try to find new places pretty regularly, so we've tried quite a few here in town. This place has by far been one of the best we've tried in a long time. I got the crispy chicken Benedict, a side of 2 candied bacon slices, and an orange mocha. I actually was leery of the orange mocha because I remembered the terrible orange juice and coffee trend, but it sounded good and the server recommended it saying it was an orange syrup and not just orange juice so I tried it anyways. Very glad I decided to try it, my wife loved it too, even above the cinnamon roll latte she ordered. We both went home with a to-go orange mocha. The candied bacon was huge and was not overly sweet. I speculate that it was spiced with some cumin and chili powder, and it was just enough to impart flavor, but not too much spiciness. My picky 5 year old tried some and said she liked it and my wife enjoyed it as well. I highly recommend this place for breakfast. We'll definitely be back as there's several things on the menu I want to try.
Food was absolutely excellent. I had the Ahogada sandwich, it was fantastic. The tomato lime jus is quite tangy and strong but an amazing compliment to the savoriness of the pork. My woman had the chicken verde omelette and she loved it. The staff was kind and helpful. Very bright and lively atmosphere. I really wish I remembered our servers name she was phenomenal.
Everything was very good. The food is delicious. On time! It doesn’t Take Long for you to come out. Shela was taking care of me today nd she was awesome, very nice and always ask me if I needed something Thank You So Much For The Great service, and The Great Food, I will come back definitely!!!!
Thought it might be a bit busy but, for one person, I got right in and escorted to a table. Abby was very helpful and cheerful and made sure my coffee was always refilled and hot. Great breakfast! I suggest the chicken Verde omelette. Great taste! Oh, and the pancake was HOT! 😉 Thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Will definitely return.
Flavor: A Service: A Tea: A Solo dining: A In a conversation about San Antonio breakfast eateries, a friend of mine suggested Austin-born Kerbey Lane because they serve breakfast all day and don’t typically have crazy-long waits like you’ll find at other breakfast spots. I got the famous queso which was really good (not Alamo Cafe good, let’s not be ridiculous - but still delicious). And then I picked the “Paris Texas” which is a mix of sweet and savory that speaks my love language. The brioche French toast was great. The migas could’ve used more tortilla or chips in my opinion but was still good. My server was great and it’s a cool space. I’ll definitely be back to try more things!
Abby has great customer service and has an awesome attitude with respect. Also her attention to detail on orders is amazing. Food comes out hot and fresh. Those sausages and pancakes are The Best I Ever had. Hands down those season fried potatoes will have you dancing at the table they are so satisfying. Great atmosphere for family and friends. We most definitely will be back. First time here and our expectations were blown away.
When your daughter says she has a new place she wants to try and she's coming to pick you up there's nothing left to do but go with it. And I'm so glad I did. This is a great place to meet up with friends for a bite. My salad was fres and the flavors were great. I am going back to try breakfast and get a coffee.
A great little diner that hit the spot after a long day at six flags. Our waiter was great, very personable and fantastic service and recommendations. The coffee was great. I got the lemon poppy Texas platter and it was absolutely delicious. The French toast was light and fluffy, and the migas was delicious. Recommend if you want some breakfast anytime of the day!
Our server Victor was so attentive and friendly. He gave great drink and food suggestions that you could tell were genuine. He kept our drinks filled, table clear and made sure we were enjoying our experience. The service from checking in online, to checking in in person, to getting sat at our table and getting our food was so quick even on a busy Sunday morning brunch! You can tell that Victor genuinely cares about providing great service and food to his guests! We ordered so many things and loved all of it. The food was not only quickly prepared, came out hot and full of flavor! We enjoyed the fried green tomatoes, boss burger, peach cobbler pancakes and the French toast the most! So so delicious! We will certainly be back!
I met a friend for lunch here and we were both happy with the ambience, service and food for the most part. I had the harvest chicken with glazed brussel sprouts and thought it was pretty good. I tried different flavors of tea, though, and never found one that was to my liking. Kudos to the waitress who was super patient as I tried to find one that I thought was good. They do give large portions so I had lunch for another day thanks to leftovers. It is actually a very nice looking restaurant and my friend and I both agree we would most likely return.
I was pleased with the overall experience. There was a couple good things and a couple not so good things. The good, the online add to wait list is a great thing, it minimizes your wait time. The menu is also a good thing, breakfast, lunch and dinner all day. I ordered hot tea and was given a huge cup of hot water and a little teapot of hot water with 2 tea bags with my choice of teabag and honey and milk, awesome. Only issue was the cup had a big lipstick stain. I sent it back and got new one. The food tasted very good. We had biscuits and gravy, cinnamon swirl pancakes and chicken eggs Benedict. The biggest problem was the biscuits and gravy with eggs was barely lukewarm. I can only imagine how good it would have been hot. Also the biscuit with eggs Benedict was cold. The pancakes were hot and the eggs were cooked properly. The side of potatoes was also very good. Another minor problem was the salt was empty. The service was friendly and acceptable. Again overall it was good, but could have been great.
My husband & I met my sister here for lunch. The waitress was friendly & the decor was trendy. I appreciated that they offer outdoor dining. We tried the truffle fries & they were fine, nothing spectacular. My husband & sis both had the Green Chile Mac, one with chicken, one without, & they enjoyed it. I absolutely LOVED my Peach Prosciutto Panini! It was out of this world & should be on the menu regularly, instead of just the on chef's special! I'd definitely go back!
This was my 2nd trip to Kerbey Lane. I didn’t write a review the first time and it was near Austin. I went for breakfast on a whim and tried the pancake flight and Denver omelette. They give you options for side so I picked black beans and fruit. The restaurant was slow so it was quiet inside and service was great. All the food was good. Black beans were seasoned well. The omelette was nice and filling. The pancakes were good but not my favorite in comparison to other places. I’m not sure if it was the cook or what not but they weren’t soft and fluffy like some other places I’ve been to. Everything else included is go back to this place and try some other stuff. I’d recommend giving it a try!
We went to Kerbey Lane three times and each time there was something amiss. The menu sounds great by design but they fall short on execution. I wont bore you with all the details of the dishes but I will say this to give you some indication why....We sat at the counter 2 out of the 3 times and watched the front and back of house while waiting for our food. The kitchen has zero communication between each station, therefore we watched as food sat in the window for over 10 minutes while the rest of the ticket was being prepared from another station. They dont coordinate the timing with each other at all. As we sat at the counter, not one staff member ever looked at us or asked how we were doing except for our server, who quite frankly was not friendly at all. She was basically an order taker, and never gave any suggestions or even engaged in any type of small talk. The teamwork there is clearly lacking. We heard the expo call for a runner to deliver food and we saw 2 servers continue chatting about their weekend rather than helping run out hot food. I wanted to give them a fair shot and tried eating there a few times, but unfortunately it fell short each time. I love the atmosphere and menu but the leadership is clearly lacking. Being that it is from Austin, I expected more. Ive been to the Kerbey Lane in Austin years ago, but I remember it being much more friendly with delicious food. I would have spoken to a manager but I saw a couple on the floor and they didnt seem to really engage with guests, so I figured they probably dont care. I do hope they figure it out and it improves, as it has great potential!
This restaurant has always been a staple for us, so it’s frustrating to say this location completely missed the mark. The food was nothing like what we’re used to. My French toast came out soggy and raw in the middle when it’s normally fluffy and perfectly cooked. The eggs were burnt and tasted awful, and the sausage was so overcooked it looked like a hockey puck. My wife ordered pancakes, and even those came out undercooked and soggy. For a place we’ve always trusted, this was a huge letdown. The only bright spot was our waitress — I believe her name was Sheila — who was kind, attentive, and did her best despite the kitchen issues. Unfortunately, the food was so bad that we won’t be returning to this location.
I ordered the simple buttermilk pancakes and coffee. The pancakes were raw and the coffee was lukewarm at best. I brought up my concerns to my waitress and they ended up not charging for the food, which is appreciated since I ate half of one of the pancakes and barely drank the coffee. The place was not extremely busy as for the kitchen to feel the plates needed to be rushed. Left hungry and disappointed 😩
