Great restaurant, good Mexican food. Great costumer services . Always great choice to go to eat there.. is becoming one of my favorite restaurants to go to eat... It's always nice and clean Great lunch special too..
Their food is delicious, the salsa is great, the refried beans are tasty. They offer a good deal on barbacoa by the pound, 13.99 a pound is a lot cheaper than other places and its not greasy. The restaurant is always nice and clean.
The food was Great. All around taste, quality, price, quantity, cleanliness and presentation deserves a 5 star. I have to mention the service was top quality. Serrano our fantastic waiter took our order which consisted of 5 diff orders and he got it right without writing it down. I will definately return and I do Recommend this restaurant to one and all.
Myra did an amazing job taking care of all of us. Last minute party of 30. With a skeleton crew of two servers. Also other people in the restaurant. She accommodated us all with table servers everything. She did an amazing job We were so happy with her commitment and her hustle to take care of us. Thank you Myra
I have made this my new go-to tacos in the morning. The main reason is the bacon and egg. They bacon is always hot, and Crispy, again crispy. Most of the places around my area do not cook the bacon until crispy, and it's usually cold. I hate that. The other reason is the service, the drive through is fast, and the lady taking the order is genuinely nice and awesome. I don't have photos, but I will add when I go back. Great job, and if you don't believe me, come try them out yourself, and as always, my 2 Cents.
Everything about this place is amazing 👏 The food the staff the design Everything
they’re really make customers enjoy food and any moment your there. celebration, just a cup a coffee with friends etc. ty Camacho for the excellent service me and my husband reallly enjoyed.
We had a large party and they accommodate us very well. I had the street tacos with Carne Asada. They were delicious. The waitress was awesome!
Food is delicious...especially the beef fajitas....tacos are filled and tortillas are fresh...sweet tea tasted like unsweetened but overall a great place for Mexican food
Breakfast plates are the best deal! Super affordable and they aren’t stingy with the potions. Carne Guisada Tacos are the BEST!! Always order to go from here and food is always on point and service too. I’m helped always by the same sweet lady at the window. I’ve had flautas, mini tacos, picadillo plate, beef enchiladas. They are all fantastic!
This place is nice during the week when it's not too busy. Tacos are pretty generous too.
Food was good service was great. The size of the plates were very generous.
Friendly staff, greeted with a smile as we walked in. Delicious food would highly recommend
We tried Sandra's and were very impressed! I don't often comment or rate the chips and salsa, so you know it's good when I do. We both got the chili relleno plates. Very good!
Service was phenomenal food was delicious I always enjoy a good breakfast here!!
Quick friendly service, accurate order was received, food came to the table quickly and was delicious. Very good value for the money too. Be sure to order a carne guisada taco with whatever else you choose, you'll definitely enjoy it.
OMG... Probably the fastest to go in the city. I walked in after seeing the line outside I took my luck in coming inside to order some tacos. I sat down and started to look at my social media and within two minutes my order was way ready. And they have very good tacos and very good tortillas. And the lady at the counter I think her name was Christina she was very smiley and great!!
Came for a family dining event after a (Funeral). The event options are great. The service was really good. The servers where very busy with about 80plus guests in this party. And they did a good job staying on top of drinks and making sure people had food. The menu was pre selected for the event and included a taco, rice, beans, and 2 flautas. All were very delicious. The portions where great and filling.
Amazing service! Amazing food! Everyone was kind, helpful, quick and efficient! Absolutely will be coming back here again! I ordered a hot chocolate, and she was kind and put cinnamon on it. It was delicious. When I ordered food to go, as well, they were quick to help me. They made sure I was checked on the entire time! Highly recommend coming here!!!!
I didn't get the waiter's name but on the receipt it read Camacho C. So to the waiter that served us deserves a huge shoutout for the excellent service he provided my son and I on Christmas Eve. He saw my son shoot his straw wrapper at me and kept handing him more straws and it was the funniest thing. Small gesture like that made the meal and time spent more enjoyable. Great food, great service- even my 9 year old said the same. Thanks a bunch! Merry Christmas!
This is my go to place to grab a torta and some breakfast potatoes. I've only had bad service once out of countless visits. Everything was fresh and perfect. The salsa was so delicious and just the right amount of spicy. I'm not a big fan of their fries so I eat their breakfast potatoes which are always on point. The ladies in the kitchen and the gentleman that waited on me did an awesome job.
Had a wonderful experience here! Food was delicious & authentic! Was a Sunday, but the wait was not long. Our waitress was very attentive. My husband said to be sure and include in this review that the cook should should get a raise& not ever be let go! Lol We went to the location on 281 for years until it was no longer there. Food was good back then too, but yesterday's meal just took me waaaaaay back to my Abuela's cooking. You know the food's gotta be good!❤️
Our family of 28 had our Christmas dinner there, and the wait staff was fantastic. Not only did they accommodate us quickly, but they were patient with our many requests. Sylvia, our server, was working our table alone, and she managed us very well. It was personally my first time there, but I was impressed with the quality of food, their prices, and their drinks. We will be back!
Ray and I went to eat there around 4 or 5 pm as we walked in the staff member rushed over to sit us at a booth as we prefer and he rushed over with menu’s and be that we were new customers he went far and beyond to assure that we were comfortable with the booth. we both agree on a small table butwe were happy with the booth far wall close to a window Nice place I shall add.well I order one taco n ray order the beef n chicken nachos and they were Deelicous and so was my taco of Carne guisada so also Deelicious. So with that being said he can cuddle and live him there or whatever but why leave my partner then After all we make a friend and with wat to
We have been coming here for awhile. It's our 2nd choice, our 1st choice closes early afternoon. The food is good here and they always have rotating lunch specials. The service is always good, but they need to improve their bussing. We had tables around left with dirty serviceware before and during our whole stay.
Food was delicious as always. Waitress was quick and courteous. Only negative was the coffee, it’s very bitter, tastes like the coffee pot is not cleaned too good…it’s been like this for I would say at least the past six months. I wish they would make it better.😁🤪
Food was decent. Manager wasn't. Asked for the receipt. Manager said, well you can go up to the counter to pay. Keep in mind, we have been watching everyone else get their receipts and paying from the table.
To drink I got the horchata, it was good, but they played the oldest trick in the book by filling up the whole cup with ice, where the ice is, that’s pretty much how much ice was in there, almost to the top. So if you’re wise ask for little amount of ice that way you have more drink next time. To eat I had a bean and cheese taco and chicharron with beans. The chicharron was alright, but there is better out there somewhere. Also this place is pricier compared to other restaurants. For that reason I don’t think I want to try this place again.
Breakfast was very good, the menudo could be a little spicier and needs cows feet, but otherwise great and well served
Good food with my uncle before taking off on a motorcycle ride. Always willing to make a stop here as part of the trip.
I recommend this restaurant We went today (Saturday) it was really busy but the service was great and the food was delicious It also has a drive thru if you dont want to go. Its kid friendly There lemonade was so delicious and refreshing We were starving so no pictures were take lol but over 5 stars
My first time coming here and the food was really good. The fried fish was so flavorful I’d definitely recommend that plate. I recommend it for myself also because I was stealing bites from my husband’s plate. The only down fall was our waitress. Not once did she come check on us for refills or more alcoholic drinks. Or anything period. A gentleman saw me looking around and right away came to ask if we needed anything. So that was nice. Either way I’ll definitely be going back for a painkiller 🍹
Their restaurant atmosphere is really lovely! The food presentation however is very boring. We ordered a Ranchero Plate and Chilaquiles plate. I feel like it could be better. Refried beans are very runny. Tortillas are very soft. Waitress only brought food but never came back for refills. We had to ask for refills when we paid to leave. Restaurant was very empty so not many people to tend to 🤷🏻♀️ I plan to go back during lunch time soon to check out this place again.
We took our nephew and niece for a late breakfast, early lunch. Not too busy but the place is pretty big. Can sit large parties. Food and coffee was hot. Waitress was helpful and fast. We ordered the pozole, the Brianna special, enchilada plate and nacho supreme plate. The pozole was good. Comes with lime, cabbage and onions with 2 tosadas on side. The Brianna plate is one enchilada with fajitas rice and beans. My nephew ate all his nachos and my niece could not finish her enchiladas but she did say they were ok. She's picking but did like the salsa and chips and tortillas.
Takeout as fresh made to order!!! 10/7/2020 - This Tink-A-Tako is probably the best one of San Antonio. The food is always great, whether you are having breakfast, lunch or dinner. With the pandemic affecting all of us for the last nine months, it is good to see, that they are taking the extra precautions to social distance their customers and applying cleanliness to the tables after a patron eats. Today's breakfast was excellent and delicious!!!! Our server took care of my wife and was very attentive in making sure our glasses were full and making us feel welcome!! Masks are required and social Distancing is practiced!!! Good Luck Tink-A-Tako!!! Happy Eating Folks!!!
Food is good. Order came out in good time. I have also used their drive thru before as well and they have always done pretty well. There was a notice that food prices had gone up due to covid but we paid $19 per person for a party of 4 and that wasn't not for any type of large family or steak meals. Completely understand restaurants need to survive right now but just felt pricing was a little too high.
First time appearance, inside is very nice. Menu was a little confusing. Couldn’t wait for the chips and salsa just to find out they are hard and stale, request fresh ones and all we got were the same chips but freshly dipped out of hot oil. Ordered the chicken fajitas plate(staple plate for a Mexican restaurant) I would not recommend it due to the fact the taste was so plain and bland that I could’ve made it better at home also not to mention it was not even hot or steaming but understandable varies between restaurants, ultimately it could’ve been a bad day. Regardless the staff overall were great. Like I said, it could’ve been a bad day, and I would personally give this restaurant another try. I hope to give a better update.
Food was ok, the atmosphere and waiter were weird. You pay the bill with a QR code which takes you to an website. I got an error twice trying to use Google pay so I had to enter credit card details manually. The waiter then came over and said we could pay at the register, but we already went through the slow online payment process and that doesn't make sense because of the QR code receipt and there was a sign at the register saying you pay at the table.
Menudo had no flavor, all I tasted was the lemon and onions I added. Barbacoa had no flavor either.
I ordered tacos, and the Carne Guisada was way too salty. My blood pressure go up even though I don't have high blood pressure! The bacon 🥓 is thick and is very delicious but also a bit too salty. Overall, all the other tacos are a good size, not too large small and not too small and stuffed perfectly!
Usually have good experiences with this establishment, both in the drive thru and with delivery. Today was a disappointment. I placed my order and my delivery driver was there within 15 minutes. He was stuck waiting an additional 25 minutes for the food. I can't imagine ordering something and having to wait a total of 40 minutes for it to come out. To top it off, the advertised queso for the asada fries was nowhere to be seen. I had a plate of fries and huge strips of less-than-fresh-tasting asada. I had also requested no cheese on my son's egg and cheese taco, as there was no option for just an egg taco. It still came loaded with cheese. Hoping this was just an off day but I'll keep my distance for the time being.
Still 3 stars: Now, I was gonna give 4 stars since the food was actually warm and salsa cold like it should be but disappointed when I got my receipt and server giving me attitude. Told her I didn't order a sweet tea, nachos and 2 bean & cheese. I ordered one bean & cheese. She said oh the margaritas not on here, it's more. Ok, so first off I ordered 1 bean & cheese and no tea or nachos. Then she says ok she forget to charge me the 2 to go cups. The first receipt was $5 more than my actual receipt so I filled the to go cups with salsa since she charged me 25 cents each for 2 lil cups. Then she's all upset saying I should of told her so she could charge me more for extra salsa. Sure, trying to charge me $5 more in the first place for someone else's receipt and not apologize for that. Lucky I still gave her a $2 tip for trying to make me pay more in the first place. Doubtful will be back, my daughter said Bill Millers bean & cheese is better than here anyways. 10 months ago 3 stars: $5 for queso. That's pricy. Same price for cheese quesadilla and for steak quesadilla? Not worth it. They know how to overprice their food. $30 and they forgot to give me my most expensive meal. 😒 enchiladas are better at Jalisco's on Marbach rd.
Don't get me wrong, My family and I have loved Tink for 22 years, but recently in my opinion, it has gone downhill. This morning I ordered a potato and egg taco with bacon and cheese. First of all, I hate when I order food and it doesn't come hot. Sadly my taco wasn't even warm. The cheese didn't even soften. My potatoes and eggs tasted like they were old... like they had been sitting out for an hour or so, all dry. I put it in the microwave at work to at least melt the cheese, thinking it would improve it. I was wrong. This saddens me....😕
Place is nice. We waited awhile for food to come to us .The waiter took awhile to check up on us through out the time we were their. He would wave to us from a distance asking us from afar if we needed anything. As a waiter you come to the table to see how we are doing. Margaritas were good. Both me and my husband ordered pozole. Definitely don't order unless you want to be spitting out bones through out your whole meal. We had large bones, small bones, sharp bones. I complained to the manager that it was very hard to enjoy our meal. When she came to my table, you would think that her response would have been hello I am such and such manager how can I help you today? No, her response was Yes ? So I informed her if the soup was the last of it because the bowl was mostly broth and bones. Her reply was they refrigerate after two hours. And reheat and when it is over heated the meat falls off the bones. And she stated to me " they are damned if they do! And damned if they don't. As a manager you expect that she would have been more professional. Instead she was just ghetto. It is to nice of a place to have someone like that representing your restaurant. I definitively was not expecting a response like that. Now she did not charge me for the bowl of soup . But that is not the point I'm trying to make here . She was very unprofessional . And If you have two customers that have the same complaint you would think that she would offered something different or given a discount on the other bowl or taken care of both of us or something . Especially knowing all the proof with all the bones that we showed her on our plate and in our bowls. Understand that I have gone too many restaurants and I have never had this issue. I definitely will not come again.
Upon arrival, I was seated rather rapidly. My waiter came to the table quickly and took my order. And from there, it went downhill. My food got cold before I was ever given a knife so I would be able to cut my food. I asked the hostess to let my waiter know I needed a knife, and she ignored me. So I had to track down another waitress to find my waiter so I would get a knife. The food ( huevos rancheros) was rather Bland. It lacked seasoning. So here I am 10 minutes after having finished my meal and I still have not gotten the bill.
Was disappointed. With my chile relleno plate Tasted weird, not fresh food. The salad. Was not fresh, the rice was not fresh. The beans were not fresh.☹️
Every single time I go through the drive thru my order is always wrong. I always receive the wrong tacos. I don’t understand how an order of two or three tacos can always get messed up. It’s not a difficult order. This morning was the last time I order from here. There was no one in the drive thru so they cannot blame it on being busy. Just bad service.
This was our first—and likely last—visit to Tink-a-Tako at this location. We stopped in for breakfast and ordered the chilaquiles plate, which came with refried beans and flour tortillas. At first glance, the presentation was appealing, and the portions were generous. Unfortunately, the flavors didn’t match the appearance. Both the chilaquiles and the refried beans were noticeably bland and lacked the seasoning you’d expect from a Tex-Mex restaurant. The flour tortillas were okay—not enough to elevate the rest of the meal. While the service was fine and the food looked promising, the taste simply fell flat.
This place has lost its quality of food & service. This visit was brutal on not just us, but other customers as well. On may 4, 2024 my wife and I visited for a third time in the last @ 2 years. We ordered the plate dinners of Lengua & Chicken mole. The plates & tortillas arrived very luke warm, My wife had an entire chicken quarter in mole which she could only eat half of due to the care of not getting mole on herself, and it was luke warm. Shredding the chicken could have made a better eating experience experience for a customer. My plate of lengua was tasty, however it was luke warm as well & only a very small portion of lengua on it. As we waited to pay our bill (@15 min wait, no cashier) a to-go customer was waiting as well, finally. upon arrival of the young cashier she informed him that they had forgotten to place his order he left upset. Several staff members saw us waiting with no apologies or explanations for the delay. Very poor way to do business and lack of professionalism toward the paying customer.
Service was fast. Food was good until we encountered that one of the dishes came with a long hair in it. Will not go there again.
We order two entries. Mine was ok but my GF's meal as she stated it was like bad piece of chicken. They didn't bother to replace it and just gave her a 50% discount. So basically she only had bean and rice. For about $7. No apologies no manager came to the table. So we will not go back again. I like the old tink a tako. To bad we use to enjoy eating thier before. Good luck with your experience
Serving sizes were huge. The beans and rice are pretty good. I ordered chicken fajitas at lunch, they seemed to be slightly undercooked, and the flavor wasn't the greatest. The flour tortillas were harder than I expected. On the way in, a lady that seems to work there but wasn't wearing a uniform practically ran over my mom, which was odd considering that they weren't very busy. We were seated right away and our food came out quickly. The water in my cup was a little soapy. The restaurant itself is clean and well-decorated, the servers were very nice, but it is unlikely I will be going back to this location of Tink-a-taco.
Typically my family and I love coming to this place. Unfortunately, this place has been going downhill lately. My orders are constantly being messed up through in the drive thru (missing or wrong food) which is irritating but eh it happens. I’m not sure who was cooking/making the tacos this day, but the meat in this almost $4 taco was unbelievably skimped. I get these tacos at least twice a week, and they are never this skimped. Do better.
Big parties are never easy. Adding the gratuity is premature. Asking for help will eat into the assigns payday, get it, but two people are necessary. We had food brought out in spurts and not together, we had no silverware from the beginning, we asked for water in addition to our drinks, received at end of meal. It was the worst family get together.
Had lunch date with my husband. I had the Pozole with pork meat..I give that a 2 from 10. First of all the coffee served was old. Not fresh. Pozole was pretty salty and had so much lard. It took half of what was served out of the plate. You can see on 2nd pic. The Chicken Fajitas were just ok. (Taco Palenque outbeats this place. )The Atmosphere is pretty loud & very outdated. Cleanliness was like a 4. The lady's restroom has no ventilation & it was like stepping into an old bar. This place is not what was once. Never again.
Older waitress was condescending. Food came out quick, but my potato and chorizo had barely anything in it. Had to ask for more chorizo, which they charged me $4 for a tiny plate of it. Bean and cheese barely had any cheese, had to ask for more and charged me $2 for a small plate of it. After my tacos came out and saw they needed more, it had to wait almost 10 minutes just for my waitress to come back around. By then my food was cold.
Just got a to go order. After leaving it seemed like it cost more than it should. Reviewed online menu and deduced I had been overcharged. I called and was informed that I had been looking at an old menu. Remember this was their online posted menu. The real kicker was they had upped the chips and salsa from 2.99 to 5.99 for 3oz of salsa and maybe 1.5 oz of chips. What a rip! I used to be a customer never again!
Food is good service is bad, waitress have scattered tables so they never come back you have to wave them down . ordered tacos to go bacon was raw
Menudo was old. Not fresh. Very soggy. I told them I wanted my tripa cooked in between crispy and medium. They were soggy. Not a touch of crisp. The bean and cheese tacos were very small portioned, like a smear on you Tortilla. Do Better!!! I did not call to complain because I know that it wouldn't be worth it. As you can see the manager doesn't acknowledge these reviews.
Last Sunday my husband and I picked up some tacos. I requested 2 country sausage and egg in a bowl. We waited about 10 minutes in the drive through to get order. I thought my food would be fresh. It was not. I started eating my food and I discovered eggs shells in my food and melted cheese. It was so gross! I called the resteraut and they offered to remake my food. It's been a week. I really didn't want to write this review but I cannot see myself ever going back to this restaurant. I told the manager it tasted like somebody's left overs made it in to my bowl. I'm still grossed out by this.
ordered a crispy tripa taco at the drive thru...all COLD...tortilla was COLD the tripas were COLD. it was almost like I got someone else's order that was decided against and left for the next order. Not neatly as filled as the one from the say before. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED and disgusted.
The borracho beans were most excellent. But that was the only thing I ate. I tried the cheese enchiladas and their gravy is totally tasteless and Bland. I'd rather have enchilada sauce out of a can than this slop. And the flour tortillas don't even get me started. They were paper thin and so chewy they weren't worth eating either. I will not return to this place it's a hard pass.
Brought my elderly father here for his birthday breakfast, food was amazing but our waitress was so rude! We had to sit ourselves “please wait to be seated” she never approached us..then was so rude as we ordered. Like it’s our fault she works here. She wasn’t wearing a name tag but she’s the fake blonde chunky lady with glasses and a lot of attitude for no reason. Food is amazing but the anger I felt while eating wasn’t.
After ordering our dishes the waitress sat and ate with the other waiters, she took our order wrong, the omelette should have been with bacon not with ham but brought it with ham. At first she took down the wrong order but we had to correct her and still came back with the wrong order. Then after our order she proceeded by asking for the menus in a sarcastic manner.. with hand gestures instead of asking nicely. She was inconsistent she did ask if we needed anything but the wait was tense and we left frustrated. Also the omelette had tooooo much cheese. Left with a bad taste in our mouth. It’s almost like we were a bother. Wednesday morning.
Techno music blaring during the lunch hour. Really?! We asked the server to please lower it and change the music, but they did not. Please be considerate of your patrons.
our server Evelyn did a horrible job serving our table , and she added on a tip to my bill without my consent. She kept my receipt , but since the bill was split in half, it should have been easy to find since I had the copy of the second part of the bill . After seeing my card being charged for the tip, I went in to get a refund and let the manager know about the situation, which took about 30 minutes to resolve. If I didn’t threaten to call corporate, I probably wouldn’t have even got my money back. My receipt was nowhere to be found, and they couldn’t find it in the system. The manager Belinda claims that “she is corporate” and quickly gave me the refund. She also mentioned that this has happened before, so if you eat at this location MAKE SURE YOU PAY CASH OR MARK OFF ON THE TIP SECTION. I will never return to this location again and I hope one of the higher up of management sees this and takes it seriously since Belinda was trying to cover up for Evelyn doing fraud on my bill.
Food was HORRIBLE!! Service was less than average. Meat looked uncooked, their big red tastes like mildew which they apparently knew and were still serving it. Food was cold, rice was crunchy. Usually food here is good, just got a bad taste from this time and will not be returning.
The food was just nasty, the chicken didn't taste right, and It was so cold that we were shivering. The food didnt taste right and they gave us bean juice or gravy and put it around the enchilada. The waitresses was rude all that was good was the lemonade. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND DONT GO HERE!!
I placed a delivery order for 8 breakfast tacos and it took an hour for it to be delivered. Very slow service and my food of course came in cold. I'm not going to buy from here again.
Food sucked...overpriced and cold. My food had more fat than meat. They took forever to take our order and our waitress was rude. I even saw people walk out because they took a long time. People walked in and four waitresses looked around lost and didn't know what to do. I didn't like the food over 20 years ago and I still don't like it. Won't come back. Save your money and go somewhere else.
Sodas taste like mop water I have come several times and it doesn’t change. They need to clean their soda machines, food is good.tho.
4/7/21-I used to love this place but now forget it! I went through the drive-thru window & ordered just 1 taco, only ONE TACO. I asked for potato with melted cheese. Does the photo show melted cheese?? NO! On the contrary, the cheese was cold & clumpy as if they just took it out of the refrig & slapped it inside the taco. The food did not look appealing which made me I lose my appetite. In addition to that, that man who took the order had a serious negative attitude! He looked so put out!!! Last time I ever go again. How disappointing!
they took forever to sit and serve us on a slow afternoon.... the people sat after us got their beverages first. it wasn't until we walked out and were damn near our car did they actually care to run out and give us attention.
Placed my order got charged. After waiting over 10 minutes, I get told they are out of tamales. Had to wait another 15 minutes to get refunded. Plus now have to wait 3 to 4 business days for the money to be refunded. All I wanted was tamales 😭😭😭
The chicken fajita was pink and not cooked all the way. It didn't have that fajita taste I was expecting. I live in Houston, and our fajitas come out-sized and have that fajita taste. It felt as if it was just half-seasoned chicken thighs. My husband's steak fajitas were cold. The bean dip was good, and the new waiter was friendly.
