I returned after many years, and it was still so delicious! Loved the crab croquettes and the scallops!
I just went there to have lunch today, 1/17/2026). Food is very delicious. patella sea food, Brussels sprouts and octopus are my favorite dishes . Our waiter is very nice, very good services and polite. He recommended what we should order, we ordered whatever he recommended. It turned out they are very good choices. We are 5 of us and we really enjoyed it. We will go back again ❤️
Absolutely outstanding experience! Everything we tried was so good that I’d come back and order it all again — and probably will. The tapas were amazing: octopus, calamari, Brussels sprouts, pork belly, and focaccia — every dish was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The paella with rabbit and duck was simply exceptional. Our server Nelly made the evening even better — friendly, attentive, and never intrusive. The whole atmosphere felt cozy and welcoming. We’re quite picky about food, but this place truly impressed us. Definitely coming back more than once! Thank you
I’m back here for the second time, and wow, this is seriously one of the best Spanish restaurants I’ve ever had in the San Francisco Bay Area! My wife and I went on my birthday, and we kicked things off with the Berros Salad. It was one of the most delicious salads I’ve had in ages. The spinach was just lightly cooked with a sprinkle of quinoa, but tons of jamon serrano. Then, we had the pulpo, and I have to say, this octopus was cooked perfectly. It was topped with parsnips puree and garbanzos. After that, we had the arroz negra paella, which was absolutely yummy! It was covered in squid ink with fennel sausage, clams, and oyster aioli. The paella was about $55, but it could easily feed two people very comfortably. We even brought some leftovers for my lunch the next day. To wrap up the night, we had churros con chocolate. The churros were delightful and sweet, and the warm chocolate sauce just melted in my mouth! For two people, we spent around $100 before tips, which included two appetizers, one large entree, and dessert. If you’re in the area, I recommend this place as a great spot for family gatherings, dinner dates, or even a birthday celebration!
This was a great little gem that hits the spot! All the food we ordered was delicious - seafood paella, croquet, the shrimp - were the top favorite. The flavor was spot on, and it was very well seasoned and balanced. The paella has a nice crispy Socarrat layer but wished it had more. The calamari was good and fresh (as is everything else) but we wish there was a bit more crispness. The drinks were also nice and refreshing. Only wished the old fashioned had a large ice cube, but no biggy. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed this little gem and would definitely come back if we’re in the hood
One of our favorite places to eat. This time we went there for lunch. No lunch crowd. Asked for a window table. We love all the tapas. Almost ordered all of them. Every single one was flavorful. We also ordered a pitcher of white sangria. Just right for the two of us. I got a little tipsy. 😊 If you haven't been, we highly recommend it. 😉
First visit to this place, and what an awesome experience. It was a Monday evening, and this place was packed, a testament to their truly excellent service and delicious food. Now the Spanish style food was outstanding, no exaggeration! All the "tapas" were surprisingly on point, delicious, and the seafood paella. Well, it was absolutely delightful. I was also very surprised at how incredibly good the wine and fruit sangria was, wow!
On Saturday, February 14, 2026 (Valentine's Day), I dined at La Marcha for brunch. The atmosphere and vibe was nice and cool. The tables and seating are pretty close together. You could literally hear what other guests were talking about and reach out and touch them. That's how close the seating/tables were. We ordered the Panqueques which were pancakes topped with chocolate cream, fruit and granola. They were really good. The pancakes were fluffy and the texture was on point. The only thing wrong with the pancakes was the young girl who served this dish to us said the chocolate cream on top was melting and sliding off and part of the chocolate cream was on part of her hand! I wouldn't have served this to a guest if the foods was literally sliding off and touching my hand but she still did. We didn't say anything to the manager or complain because the pancakes actually tasted delicious. I still want to bring this up though because hygiene should be at the highest standard and quality at any restaurant. We ordered the Torrijas Trea Leches French toast. It was delicious and full of flavor. The syrup served for both the pancakes and French toast were on point! We also ordered the Paella Mananera 🥘. It was good. The chicken, serrano ham, chorizo and the runny egg eaten with the rice all tasted good together. It was some of the paella I've ever had. I would highly recommend La Marcha to everyone who wants good quality food with high-end ingredients. Every dish delivered and was on point!
In my opinion, this is the best representation of true Spanish tapas in the Bay Area. We ordered more dishes than I can count, and not a single one disappointed. Every plate was flavorful, perfectly cooked, and thoughtfully presented. The service was exceptional—attentive without being intrusive. The wine list is excellent and fairly priced, which is refreshing. If you understand tapas as they’re meant to be enjoyed—shared with friends, at a relaxed pace—you really can’t go wrong here.
Tapas were flavorful. We selected more of the veggie forward tapas. Veggie paella was amazing, group of 3, and we cleaned the pan. One friend has a nut allergy, got the black and white dessert, ingredients specified no nuts, waitress checked with kitchen, friend had a slight reaction. Waitress was either freaking out or really busy, she didn’t tend to us for a while. She made a few under the table rude comments, other than her service, this was the perfect place for friends to gather and catch up. Dimly lit, moody, good mocktails.
Intimate bar with a friendly vibe in downtown Berkeley that has a definite bar vibe, cute happy hour menu with flavorful petite bites for eats. A nice spot to meet with friends for a little bite and a drink. The sangria is really good. A small venue for small get togethers with a few family, friends or colleagues. The food may be small but they are packed full of flavor and filling after a few plates.
Same day brunch reservation. The grace period is 10 minutes. Was seated immediately. Order was taken within 3 mins. Ordered the Pan Con Tomate Y Jamon, Bacon Croqueta, Torrijas, Rabos Con Huevos, Sangria tino, and a sangria blanco, Churros, Paella Mananera. The service was the best thing about the experience. The main waiter was a true service man. Clean cut, smelled good, clarified the order before placing it. The white sangria served. The small plates started coming out back to back while finishing each one. The waiters were attentive. The bacon croqueta was good and the aioli was too. it was moist on the inside, not sure if it was supposed to be or not. The pan con tomato Y jamon was good. The rabbis con huevos was fairly good too. The fruit garnish was a little too much. While I enjoyed all the fruit on 3 of the plates I had, it was slightly repetitive and evolved to be a little too much. two plates had kiwi, dragon fruit, orange slices. The 3rd plate had kiwi, dragon fruit, raspberries, blackberries, a strawberry. The fruit may have been a side; however, it wasn't listed in the description for the items they came with. The Torrijas tasted pretty authentic. Nearly done my food and realized my red sangria never came to the table. The gracious waiter served it and comp'd it. I ordered the Paella Mananera to go due to the cook time and was planning to have it for dinner at home. The paella was ready and packaged in a bag, that was stapled. When I went to eat it for dinner, I realized that it wasn't the paella I ordered. The paella I ordered was supposed to have bacon, chorizo, chicken. The paella that was given to me had calamari and mussels in it. I don't eat calamari and didn't want the mussels. I forced myself to eat and pick through it so that it wouldn't be a complete waste of food. I was really looking forward to the bacon and chicken in the paella but that's not what I got. The ambiance and music was great. If you order to go, check it before leaving.
I had the best octopus dish here in all the tapas places I've been to so far. All the tapas that we got were superb. The lamb sliders were so flavorful. I would order that again. We also had cauliflower, beet salad, mushroom croquettes and the wagyu cheeks dish was incredible. The churros con chocolate on the other hand is a level below the rest of the dishes. Service was great and friendly. Would recommend and would go back to try the rest of the menu.
This used to be an absolutely terrific paella place. After COVID, though, their prices skyrocketed and they started using lower quality ingredients. The last time we were there, we ordered the paella agsin, ceven though the price was double what it had bern, but we figured they must have improved on an already great meal. No. We each felt the chicken was now chunks from frozen breaded packages, the rice was over cooked with no crust, the peas had an odd taste and there were fewer shrimp. Andhe serving was smaller. All in all, we felt it had fallen far from what it once was. Which is a shame, because it's a nice environment and the staff is great.
They could get more out of their Spanish wave! The music is very low, that is, inaudible. Some flamencos guitar or vocals make it better. The food can get better but it's not bad. It has potential but I think they can improve the experience they have a diamond but they can make it shine.
The food itself was good. I haven't had Spanish cuisine before, so it was new and interesting to me. Our favorites were the Colifor, Buñuelos, Hamburguesas Morunas, and Arroz Negro. The flavors were solid, though some dishes leaned on the saltier side for my personal preference. That said, paying $65 for a paella with such a small amount of protein is disappointing. Especially compared to the advertised picture of Arroz Negro. The restaurant had a very chill, relaxed, atmosphere. A good place for a casual outing or evening date. Everything was clean and pleasant. We had a weekday reservation at 5pm and spent a little over an hour and a half dining, during which there was almost no service at all. At least 3-5 tables were empty throughout the entirety of our meal, so it definitely wasn't due to the restaurant being overwhelmed. After placing our initial order, we didn't see our server for 45 minutes (time stamped, yes). When we wanted to order more food, we had to ask the food runner to find someone. Even then, it took another 15 minutes before someone finally came to take our order. No one refilled our water even once, and no one checked in to see if we needed anything. We saw servers refilling water at other tables, but they never came to ours. Servers were basically nowhere to be found, to the point where when I finally saw one closing out another table, I handed her my card before she could run away because I was worried she'd disappear again and we wouldn't be able to pay for another business day. We added a bottle of sparkling water to our bill before closing it out but it wasn't brought out until we were waiting at the door ready to leave, that was also after when we had to ask again for it. At no point were we acknowledged for being ignored. Nothing like "It's busy tonight" or "We're short staffed". We would've understood if there were special circumstances, but we received nothing aside from what felt like attitude and impatience from the waitresses. (God bless them, hope they had a better night than I did) The experience left us speechless. For a place where per-person spending is $100+, the service was shockingly bad (although is it really "bad" if it were nonexistent?) The menu deserved better service. Just stick to DoorDashing or takeout. Hopefully others won't have the same experience we did. Edit: The owner kindly reached out to us in regard to our experience. We appreciated the effort from their end to better the situation and improve their quality of service.
The food is good and presentation very nice. Very spaniard with its flavors with a bit of a twist. Good place to order different dishes and share. It wasn't mind blowing but okay. Calamari with squid ink was 🤌 and seafood paella wished it had more seafood but still very good. More on the $$$ side. Cons: The drinks 🍸 are terrible...water taste better 😅 They all tasted bad and nothing like we expected with no good flavor. The food tastes a long time to get to your table. Wouldn't drive all the way to Berkeley again for this but if I was in the area just maybe might come in to try a new item off the menu...maybe
My second time here was very disappointing. I received a gift card for La Marcha back in 2021 and had a lovely dinner. Food and service were both wonderful. After realizing I sill had $57 in credit on the gift card, we decided to go here for lunch on 11/24/2025. We looked at the lunch menu on their website and we were very much looking forward to two of the sandwiches on the menu. Once we sat down, we were given a menu that was completely different, and we probably should have just left. Our server told us the menu changes monthly and they must not have changed it on the website. Since none of the non-taps dishes interested us, we ended up ordering from the tapas menu and they were just ok. Nothing special. When I went to pay, I was told my gift card had expired which is illegal in California. Our server didn't even try to figure out why it wasn't working. I definitely will not be going back here.
