Great hotel. Amazing staff. Delicious breakfast. I can’t wait to return. Always a great place to vacation.
great service and delicious drinks! 🍹 Hector is awesome 🤩
Great hotel.. our conference was there and it was very nice. Many people stayed at this hotel and were very happy
Had a great visit this evening, great fast service, food came out fast. Awesome view and the nachos were just okay, nothing to write home about but the pepperoni pizza was actually super good, almost wood fired tasting.
Ate at one of their tables one day and at the beach another. They give you a lot of food per order.
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here!!! HIGHLY recommend Caribe Hilton to anyone visiting San Juan on a much needed solo trip like I did or with your family and kids. This hotel has it all! Birthplace of the Piña Colada so of Course I had to had one. Upgraded my room to enjoy a balcony with a view of the private beach, worth every all the penny’s more
They actually make a real Piña Coloda, which is nice to see. They use pineapple juice, cream of coconut, ice, rum, etc. And blend it in front of you. No Slurpee machine. I think people have preconceived notions of what they expect THE ORIGINAL PIÑA COLODA to taste like, but this is it. It's a simple drink that's just sweet and refreshing. It's not supposed to reek of booze or have a dark rum flavor. Yes they cost more here because it's not a 99¢ Slurpee with bottom shelf rum spilled over it. I appreciate being ABLE to pay for a real cocktail, so thank you.

Are the piña coladas a lil more expensive? Sure. Does it feel tourist trappy? Not really. I don't drink so I ordered a virgin and it was still really good, very refreshing after a long swim in Escambron. I appreciate that the bartender put the extra bit in another glass.
Poolside restaurant/bar at a resort hotel so expect prices accordingly. Lunch menu is great with portions large enough for two.
Staff always is happy and helpful, the resort grounds are well kept and well equipped. You have food, drinks and convenient stores right on premises. No bad views except the rooms that are right at roof level. Rooms are clean and comfortable with great air conditioning.

Very happy with the servers and bartenders thus far. Very friendly staff. Highly accommodating. Looking forward to the rest of the week here!

Stayed here a few times. Nice place for family vacation or couples. Clean and staff is relatively friendly and helpful. PR has several power outages so never know. We were only victims once.
Love this resort. This is my second visit staying here. Our first room this second visit was in the old tower and we as very dated in the old building and they easily switched us to the top floor in the wave wing which was bigger and updated with a shower. The other room had a tub that was chipped. Was a little disappointed at first. Stay in the wave wing which is updated. We stayed in room 1866 and had great panoramic views. Anything much lower you’ll just be facing the other tower. I don’t like that basically all rooms have views of the rusty roof of the property below. Definitely a design flaw. Good location though. Close enough to Contado by foot or $5 Uber. Cabs are more expensive, we found. The service at the pool could’ve been better. We waited over an hour for a salad and it never came. The staff at the pool mostly wasn’t pleasant. Maybe they were short staffed. Overall though I would stay here Again.
Muy linda vista

The front dest woman was so rude when I checked in when I booked my hotel I book beach veiw and she told me that wasn't what I had and she charged me $50 extra a night I arrived at 1:20 in the morning the bar says open till 2 the guy would serve drinks bc he said he closed at 1 the pool looks like it hasn't been cleaned room service is on point 👌🏻 we got a 6 pack of beer to take to the room and it cost over $60 very expensive here
Drinks were good, but the service was very lacking. Also they forgot a component in one of our drinks. But the Pina Colada was well balanced for what it is.
It's not great. Overpriced food and drinks go to restaurants just down the street they are much better quality in ingredients and price
While claiming to be one of the two original Pina coladas... It is clearly the interior option. The drink could have come from a bottle in a grocery store. So little flavor. The queso fundido was nothing close to authentic. I'm sorry to say I'd skip this and head to the competition.
This establishment earns two stars solely for its outside bar area, while the inside bar warrants zero stars due to an underwhelming experience. Twice, I received incorrect information regarding the outside bar's 7 closure, only to encounter earlier closures at 6:30 and 6. Upon entering the inside bar in swimwear, the bartender exhibited a negative demeanor, necessitating proper attire for service. After retrieving a shirt, her noticeable irritation and discontent persisted, falling short of expected courtesy, especially given my considerable stay and spending here throughout the whole week.
The OG original Piña Colada was disappointing. Tastes more like a sweet dessert with no alcohol taste. Coconut and pineapple flavour was strong though. Price was good for a Hilton at $14+tax+tips. Atmosphere was relaxing sitting outside. They don't take Google Pay/Apple Pay and debit MasterCard didn't work as well. Cheap parking at Escambron beach ($5 all day) with a 10 min walk.
Very clean place and swanky , prices are pricey I ordered the kids cheese burger which wasn't bad at all for 12 plus tax . Also ordered a Pina colada which was 12 also which wasn't that strong No specials at all. The waiter also took my change . Seems like a lot of the workers here were overworked but during this pandemic I can't blame them .

Visit to experience first hand racism. Although, the Piña Colada was good.
If you’re coming here for the pina coladas, just know that it’s not amazing. Lots of fruit flies, wish Hilton would find a way to fix that, because one was in my drink and is definitely something a bartender shouldn’t have to deal with when working. I know it’s supposedly the first and so is barrachina. I will say barrachina was bit better in my opinion. If you weren’t fully thrilled with the pina colada here, you’re not alone. There are great bars in San Juan and almost all sell pina colada. Check out some of my reviews to find some good spots!! Princesa in old San Juan is a solid choice!
My last night in Puerto Rico celebrating my birthday and I ordered the Nachos as well as a Ay Bandito. As you can see, my glass wasn’t full so that was disappointing. Secondly, the Nachos were cold and some of the chips were straight up stale. Also, as you can see the cheese was some type of processed cheese. I was not impressed at all and could not finish this trash! For a $300+ a night stay, I expected way better.
this is the "bar" where the Pina colada was invented (fairly certain original one is gone given how modern this is) but they really do a disservice to it. You would have thought for a place coasting on such a reputation they would put a little more care into it. The original recipe is literally on the wall behind me, yet they leave out the pineapple, maraschino cherry, blend the ice instead of crushing it, and I don't think there's any rum in here at all. For the price I paid I expected a little better quality, I could walk over to the beach and get a better one from a street vendor. if you like your history, just come in, snap a picture of the wall that tells the history of it, and then order a Bacardi on the rocks. some things are better left to history.
Honeymoon Nightmare- came here for our honeymoon. When we arrived front desk staff was very friendly. We were greeted with a smile, they gathered our luggage and let us know where our room was. There was a huge leak and one of the elevators was shut down because of it. We went around the corner to an additional elevator. When we went to that elevator and came out on the 10th floor, there was a trash can right outside of the door catching dripping water in it. We noticed that there were also small holes in the ceiling hallway from trying to find the source of the leak (I’m guessing) that appeared to be mildewed or molded. In the room, there is not a REAL bathroom door. It’s a sliding style bathroom door, much more suited for a closet, that offers NO privacy! There are cracks in the shower tiles and the sink, which show the property has aged! This is our second day here. The view from our room was not as good as the pictures and the pictures of the hotel must be from when it was first erected. It is not the pristine hotel in the pictures. The tiny balcony has two chairs and a table that barely fit on it, the carpet looks dingy, and by the patio door, there is a scent of urine. We spent the day touring Old San Juan, as recommended by several of our friends, and it was great. We got back around 11 this morning and went down to the hotel beach. There was one staff member, lady with curly dyed blonde hair sticking out of the top of her hat, that was very rude. She yelled at my husband that he should just file a complaint about the fact that there wasn’t a bartender at the beach area bar and he had to walk all of the way back to the pool bar to get a drink.. Then when she came to work over at the beach area, she yelled again that we need to make sure and sign the receipt. When we followed her to sign the room slip, she said very rudely,”they will just send it to your room!” She should obviously NOT be working on a customer service position! We are currently sitting in the room after being at the beach, with no running water at all. That means I cannot shower off the ocean water. The TV continues to freeze up. They told us the water would be on in an hour and we are going on two! This place is NOT worth the money we spent to come here, and I would not recommend. You cannot get a meal under $81 and this includes breakfasts. I expected much better out of a Hilton property. It must be the land the Hilton’s forgot! Most of the staff we have encountered has been very friendly. It is just that one lady that has been very rude. - Rebecca and Jason Kennon Update- we were now told it will be one more hour. And here we are at the end of hour three- still no water. I know to some it’s just another day, but this is my honeymoon!

Waited 45 minutes for someone to take our order. We finally left. Ridiculous. Poor service.
Second worst mojitos on the island that we had. Drinks were very expensive and just not that good.
Terrible customer service. Ordered food and waited for over an hour to find out that my food was just sitting on the bar. One of the workers excuses was he couldn’t find me and didn’t take my order. I was sitting 10 feet away.
Definitely not worth the money for a supposed “inventor” of pina colada. Poor service matched with subpar flavor!
Nice atmosphere but you can't get service so being a bar that makes it bad and useless. Come Hilton.
Awful customer service! The lady was super rude and did not open in time. Kept putting stuff away and ignoring all her customers, telling everyone she is not open and won’t be open for a while. Just a terrible experience.
The lighter your skin tone, the quicker your order is taken, plain and simple. I arrived and watched over 20 customers ordered, received drinks, paid and left. My order wasn't taken until I was the only person left at the bar. I was the darkest person there by far. Very sad and frustrating experience.
Terrible service. When you finally flag down a waiter to order its "not their section" Even simple orders take forever. You just watch servers chatting together behind the bar (which,by the way, they WONT allow you to get food from) Not worth it even when you have hotel credit to eat there.
Lady working the bar was very rude. Don’t work in customer service if you can’t treat customers with basic respect. Poorly managed because I would never tolerate that behavior from an employee.
60 mins to get food and mahi mahi was dry. Found our own utensils. View is nice
Over aged property, lack of maintenance definitely showing it’s age with minimal upkeep. All the pool have black algae and watched vomit floating with no attention whatsoever. As owner/operator of a pool maintenance company this is not acceptable to my customers, as a consumer it is a complete let down coming from such a reputable hotel chain Hilton. Towel stand closes at 5 but pool is open til 10pm so plan on air drying.
I’ve stayed at this hotel a couple of times and eaten at this restaurant 3 times now. Today I came for a special event, Big Band was playing here. I called the number all day to try to reserve a table, and no answer. I texted - as their advertisement said I had the option to - we got here early to ask for a table, there were several empty ones. When we checked in I explained that I had been trying to make a reservation all day, they kept telling me how there was a min of $150 food order per table, I explained that the price didn’t matter! They eventually brought us in, AND sat us at the LAST table 19, even though there were plenty of empty tables at the front and the middle. We sat there for about 30 min, then I went back and complained about why we were sat at the last table when there were plenty of open ones closer to the front. They proceeded to move us to the middle. The Puerto Ricans who are putting together this event need to check their racial biases. I will also be emailing the band who played tonight and the management at this hotel. I was here celebrating my daughter’s(a Jazz enthusiast), law career. The racism of the era you all were big in, will not work in todays world. I expect an email apology to me and my daughter for this racist treatment! Thank you.
So, we're over in Puerto Rico, right? We hit up a bunch of spots, and whether it was for the grub or the cocktails, folks treated us pretty good, except for this one joint. We rolled in with high hopes, hunting down the spot where the famous Piña Colada was born. We took a seat and waited. The bartenders were busy yapping among themselves, but eventually, one of 'em comes over and hands us a menu. We ordered a Piña Colada and a Sassy G. We also asked for some water, but it's like they barely noticed us. We were kinda hungry, so we figured, 'Let's get a pizza.' But then bartender Miguel drops the bombshell – 'No pizza here.' 'Alright,' we say, 'then we want the pork with guava.' But here's the kicker, we weren't sure if we should go for the passion fruit ceviche or something else. That's when Miguel pipes up, says that the ceviche's real good, so we roll with it. Now, when the chow hits the table, the pork's saltier than the sea and without a drop of sauce. As for that passion fruit ceviche? Tasted like nada, no hint of passion fruit. We flag down Miguel, ask what happened to the guava sauce for the pork. 'Oh, right!' he says, like he totally spaced it. Then we ask why the ceviche doesn't taste like passion fruit (it's even called 'passion fruit ceviche' on the menu). His response? 'It's marinated in passion fruit, but that don't mean it's gotta taste like passion fruit.' My partner and I just look at each other like, 'What the heck?' So, bottom line, I wouldn't recommend this joint. In Puerto Rico, there's plenty of awesome spots to hit, and Caribar sure ain't one of 'em. The food quality and the hospitality are way better elsewhere. I wouldn't steer anyone toward this experience, and I sure ain't coming back. It ain't up to any Hilton standard I've ever seen, not in terms of the grub or the service
Have waited over an hour for food. Drinks took about 20 minutes. Overall terrible service with a dismissive attitude. Edited to add: sorry, server clarified we waited only 45 minutes from ordering.
