It's located in the same shopping area that serves mainly tech workers when the new Cisco offices were built. It's where the Santa Clara Whole Foods is so there's the parking lot there, the parking garage, and some spots right in front of the stores. There's a bar at the entrance and then you almost make a U-turn into the dining tables, which doesn't get much sunlight. Then, it extends to an indoor-outdoor dining area. The appetizers are all very inspired and aesthetic. Even the fried chicken were these dainty strips with no bone. The chicken biryani was very good as well and the portion was huge. The only thing is that nothing was spicy enough. They had a lot of options of bread too, even though the ghee was a bit overwhelming.

Best dal makhani I had in bay. The food was authentic, ambiance was great, and service was okish. Mainly because of the number of tables they were trending. Overall very happy with food and will definitely go again

Delicious food, would come again!! Had smoked Dahi Puri - it was super refreshing and amazing. For my meal, Paneer Methi bowl - the sauce had some heated spice but it so good. Their mango lassi is out of this world!

I was extremely impressed with the food, the ambience, and the service here. This is an upscale Indian cuisine restaurant and I really enjoyed everything I tried. They have a full bar, common Indian offerings, which are extremely high-quality, and even beer. The restaurants were extremely attentive and quick. The restaurant was extremely clean and truly felt like it was a luxury dining experience. We ended up getting the chicken biryani and it was the best I’ve had in a long time, extremely spicy. Even the cocktails were well put together and not overly full of extra ingredients. If you’re looking for good Indian food and a nice sit down restaurant experience, this place is great. Parking can be a little bit difficult here, so make sure you have some patience for that. There’s also plenty to do nearby, there’s a brewery around the corner and there’s a Whole Foods and some other shopping outlets nearby.

Delicious food, drinks, good service. Make a reservation if you want to sit inside. Parking is tough, park by the Chase bank/ Whole Foods

If you’re looking for an exceptional dining experience, this Indian restaurant is a must-visit. The food is absolutely amazing—rich in flavor, beautifully presented, and full of authentic Indian spices that truly elevate each dish. The atmosphere is warm, elegant, and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a romantic date night or a special evening out. What really sets this place apart is their selection of specials. If you get the chance, don’t miss out on their raj kachori—a vibrant and flavorful street-style starter that’s as visually impressive as it is delicious. The lamb chops are perfectly marinated and grilled to perfection, offering a bold and savory experience. And of course, their butter chicken is creamy, rich, and comforting, arguably one of the best you’ll find. With a menu that blends traditional flavors with modern presentation, this spot offers an unforgettable culinary journey.

I was here on a weekday for lunch with friends and the service was swift and on point. We tried the Shakarkandi/sweet potato chaat, paani puri - both good appetizers but the gobi manchurian look alike was a bomb! The paneer biryani bowl was only satisfactory, sadly because of the overpowering cardamom and the dal could have used a little more salt. Both, the pineapple and mango mojito mocktails were refreshing! Definitely going back to try more.

Went for lunch with a large 26 person group and had a great experience. They were able to accommodate the group well and staff kept things moving along at a good pace. We had four appetizers for the table and they were all good - the Karikudi chicken was my favorite with a nice crispy spiced breading. I had the Butter Chicken and Banjara Chicken Kebab bowl for my meal and it was very tasty and filling. Both types of chicken were tender and seasoned well. My only complaint is the dish had no heat and they didn't have options to adjust the spice up or down.

Overall love this place! The food has been solid each time and I'd highly recommend to order a bunch of things to share! The paneer biryani was definitely my favorite which and I'm not normally one for a lot of rice. The only downside is the drinks, I'm a bit of a fussy drinker so when a Manhattan comes with a bunch of ice cubes it's not great :P not that they're bad.. but they're not on the same level as the food but they do have a great beer selection!

We went for a team lunch and absolutely loved the place and food. We had golgappe and dahi puri as starters. We then ordered food which came in bowls, which is not typical of Indian food, but was ok. For starters we loved the phirni brulee which was a fusion of creme brulee and phirni which is an Indian delicacy.

Ambiance was great but there is no much vibe. We visited on a Saturday afternoon. The disappointing part is I was asking for the famous items that were mentioned in the reviews but they said the menu changed. However, the food from the current menu was decent. The mango mocktail the sprite with Pom juice was great. Banaras pattha chaat is a must try. Paneer lababdar was decent. Not a fan of Roti with pesto.

Appetizers wefe truly amazing. We loved the twist in the corn dish - it was a treat all of us loved. Soya chaap was full of flavor. Bread (chilli and basil garlic) had too much ghee for my liking but crisp and interesting breads. Butter chicken was good but a bit salty. Not the best butter chicken. Paneer makhanwala was again an interesting take on conventional paneer curry - bit sweet but really tasty. Paan kulfi - Looked the most aesthetic and beautiful but the highlight of the meal was brulee phirni (rice pudding) with the caramels and raisins. Definitely recommend for a fine dine Indian cuisine - a tad bit unjustified for the cost but good ambience.

This is an upscale restaurant with an interesting take on Indian food. Some of their starter dishes are pretty good. They have quite a good selection of vegetarian options. The ambience of the restaurant is great and perfect for a date night or a large group. However prices are pretty expensive and not everything lives up to the hype.

Dinner experience Compared to my earlier Lunch experience. Dinner scores low Lunch Menu is better than dinner one Food tasted better last year compared to this ---------------- I never knew this restaurant existed and probably would have never visited had it not been for the team lunch here. The restaurant has good ambience and would recommend for team lunch , events and special occasions. The Service is good. The food was excellent. The ambience is nice as well.it’s a bit pricey. We tried few appetizers A) Tuk Aloo Aur Bhadang B) Tamarind Chili Cauliflower The Jiva Meal bowl comes with papad, half Parotta and cucumber. Tried the Subz Paneer Biriyani and Dal Tadka It was delicious however the quantity is just good for 1 person. I would recommend this restaurant

Decor: Loved it. Modern, clean, tables are well spaced. Service: Poor and extremely slow. Staff needs to be re-trained. The restaurant seemed well staffed but the service was extremely slow. This is my second time at the restaurant and both times the service was poor. This time we were celebrating my husband’s birthday. I had written a note online while booking and I also told 2 people at the restaurant to get a candle on the dessert that we were going to order. The dessert came without the candle. 😡. Clearly no attention is paid to customer requests. Food and drinks: Food presentation- Excellent, similar to Michelin star restaurants. Drinks: We ordered Paan ki Gulkand and Oaxaca margarita. Both were excellent. Appetizers- Banarasi Paan Patta, Marwari Paneer tikka and Karikudi chicken fry. All the appetizers were really good. We asked for medium spicy and all the dishes had a good kick. Main dinner of Grilled seabass (loved it), dal(nothing special), Sunzeri-e-khas (okay) and butter chicken (good) For dessert : Apple pie with ice-cream presentation was good but the pie was cold. The pie needs to be warm to be eaten with cold ice cream.

Randomly found this place and went with colleagues. We didn't book ahead and hence couldn't get a regular table. so we sat at the bar. Place is small so not many seats available. Ambience was good but there was no vibe. Had few cocktails and they were good. Appetizers were good. Had mutton chops, chicken, paneer, soya chops, pani puri and papad. All the appetizers tasted nice. The paneer portion was small though. Ordered Chicken and Paneer biryani and it was a let down. It's nothing like biryani and both the biryanis are overpowered with Elaichi. Ordered Mango lassi and that's full of Elaichi. Ordered Paan Kulfi and that has a lot of Elaichi too. While a hint of Elaichi is always nice it shouldn't overpower the dishes.Chef has a soft corner to Elaichi. I hope management will modify the recipe/s so it's appealing to a variety of audience.

I recently dined at Jaks and overall the experience was average. The food was okay, but some dishes were disappointing. The kathal biryani lacked the depth of flavor you expect from a good biryani. The jackfruit didn’t seem properly cooked—it tasted more like it was steamed separately and mixed into the rice rather than being cooked together with spices. The murg appetizer was served without the green chutney that was shown as part of the plating, which felt like a miss. The shakarkhand dish was fine but nothing extraordinary. The betel leaf appetizer was similar to what you get at Ettan, but the flavor here was quite average—I honestly felt I could recreate something similar at home using store-bought ingredients. One more surprising aspect was the very limited bread options, which felt restrictive for an Indian restaurant. Overall, Jaks tries to create an interesting concept, but the execution and flavors didn’t fully live up to expectations. There’s room for improvement, especially in depth of flavors and attention to detail in presentation.

Good food. Good ambience. Disappointing service. Have been to this place twice now, and unfortunately the service has been consistently poor both times. The first time was around 4 PM, an off hour between lunch and dinner. So we initially gave them the benefit of the doubt regarding staffing. That said, it still took the manager about 10–15 minutes to seat us in an almost empty restaurant. Once seated, we placed our order and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. However, the manager, who was acting as our server, was continuously on a personal phone call while serving us. This wasn’t a work call, we understood the language being spoken. Basic service elements like changing plates and bringing the check were repeatedly delayed, clearly because he was distracted. Despite the food being tasty, the overall experience was disappointing. Since the timing of the first visit was unusual, we decided to give the restaurant another chance during dinner service. Unfortunately, the experience wasn’t much better. We waited about 15 minutes just to be acknowledged and seated, even though the restaurant was only about 40–50% full. After being seated, we waited another 15 minutes before anyone came to take our order. Eventually, I had to seek out a server myself and ask them to come to our table. Once the order was placed, the food again came out in a reasonable amount of time. The first dish, a platter, was noticeably overcooked. When we flagged this, the server seemed unsure how to handle the situation and called over another server instead of the manager. That second server was excellent. Very responsive, efficient, and handled the issue smoothly. Our main dish, a holiday menu special, was very good. Overall, this restaurant has all the potential to be one of the best Indian restaurants in the Bay Area - a great location, beautiful interiors, and genuinely good food. However, the service particularly at the management level needs significant improvement. Until that changes, it’s hard to recommend this place despite its potential.

DO NOT VISIT!!! WORST FOOD EVER!!! We went for dinner on Valentine's Day and got a bill of $105 We ordered Palak Patta Chat, Cuban Pineapple Mojito, Paneer lababar, Paratto, Bagareli Dal and Jeera Rice. Parotta felt frozen, rice grain were hard, and in Cuban Pineapple Mojito they just added Pineapple syrup and mint leaves. They also have Mongo Mojito in wish they don't use actual mangos, they use MANGO RAAS (INDIAN PULP) TIN. And still charge heafty amounts.

Waste of money! Big let down..... This place feels like it caters mainly to corporate India. Everyone around was Indian dressed in work clothes, probably here on their office cards. Unfortunately, the food was a big letdown. The flavors were bland, the dishes lacked character, and nothing stood out in taste. For such underwhelming quality, the prices were shockingly high, which makes sense only if the office cards are expensing their meals. On the plus side, service was fast, but the servers looked visibly stressed and rushed, which didn’t add much to the atmosphere. Overall, a disappointing experience. Definitely not worth coming back.
