Our absolute favorite restaurant! Great service, amazing food, and amazing gluten free food! A must go!
Wonderful evening! Chef is absolutely amazing. Never disappoints
Amazing food. Very authentic. Family owned restaurant. They have a restaurant side and then the wine cellar side with a pizza oven if you want a less formal atmosphere.
Hands down !! The best Italian food in sarasota. Quaint small place. Must have reservations. I had the best gnocchis in town that came places in bread bowl. To die for. I would eat here every night. Amazing. Will not disappoint.
Exceptional dining experience! Superb food that is plated beautifully, extremely pleasant and professional staff. Owner is present and adds to the dining experience. The wine list is outstanding.
Seriously one of the best Italian meals in Florida! A real hidden gem. Small restaurant so not great for larger groups but intimate setting with great food & wine selection. We lucked out with the street food of the day being Arrancini Bolognese which were delicious! Loved everything from their bread starter to their fresh al denti pasta.
So my experience here was part of a larger group of people and both the service and food was impeccable. I had the octopus and it was grilled to perfection. Like no place I have had it before. The eggplant appetizer was so good I could have eaten it for a meal. I have read some of the comments on cocktail napkins being needed, with nice tablecloths to absorb any condensation from my ice tea I liked them not wasting the paper napkin so many others do under the drink.
What an amazing hidden gem. This reminds me of the old school real Italian restaurants. Menu is small. Seafood salad was incredible. Mushroom ravioli was off the charts. Seafood linguini was my daughters favorites. Both Tiramisu and Creme Brule was incredible. Service was great. Hidden gem
My fiancé picked this restaurant to celebrate the night of our engagement. Andrea, the owner, called him personally to confirm the reservation. Our table was set up already with champagne ordered by my brother in law. The staff was very excited about the engagement and they were all so friendly and attentive to us. Our waiter filled up our drinks all the time and the appetizers and food were brought out quickly. The food was so delicious. They have a seasonal menu with a lot of options. We ordered cream of asparagus as the appetizers and gnocchi and lasagna, both with bolognese, as the entrees. My fiance's family is Italian and he said the food was very authentic! Andrea, the owner, personally visited our table twice and congratulated us on the engagement. As a gift for the engagement, he gave us a free bottle of wine and two free desserts: a tiramisu and a coffee flavored dessert with a name I can't recall. They were both delicious! Overall, it was an amazing restaurant with great food and a great atmosphere. My fiancé did a great job picking this restaurant for our special day!
One of the best restaurants in Sarasota. It is elegant, comfortable, and welcoming. The food is first rate for a sophisticated palate. I had octopus to start — a treat I had never dared to order before. It was glorious—tender and succulent. For the main course, I ordered Veal Saltimbocca with wild mushrooms. The flavors of the prosciutto and sage and wild mushroom permeated the veal and created a piatto perfetto. If you want great food, a soft, relaxed ambiance, and excellent service, I don’t think you can do any better than Andrea’s.
Andrea knows food and how to prepare it. Best gulf flounder ever.. best eggplant appetizer ever.. and Michael makes the whole experience delightful. Not fancy ambiance but fantastic food! Highly reccomend this restaurant for the food and service!
FINALLY!! A chef that knows how to spice foods well and is accommodating, to someone like myself with many food allergies. From appetizers to desserts, the food was superb, the wine, ditto and the atmosphere, "special" i.e., the care and attentiveness of Michael the host and Andrea, who visits each table making sure you're enjoying your meal is hard to find today. Andrea's is a RARE GEM in a sea of so-so restaurants. We will be regulars for sure.
First time there not the last a hidden gem in Sarasota very authentic Italian food the service was on point they were the owners sons so knowledgeable re menu we both had the osso buco on saffron risotto so tender no knife needed generous portion large menu we will be returning for sure
What a great surprise! I never knew this was here and man have I been missing out!! Fantastic appetizers and wine! The mushroom risotto and Gorgonzola chicken was amazing. Highly recommend!!!
The boys are amazing servers. The atmosphere is authentic, and the food is amazing. 100% recommend for anyone in the area or from out of town.
Cozy lil gem! Loved the Savor Sarasota offerings. The seafood, pasta, dessert & service were great. I will be back for sure.
The food was the best, this is a real ristorante, the services extraordinary!, the ambience was very nice too! Definitely one of the best restaurants in Sarasota. Will always recommend it !.
Our dinner last night was amazing. The food got huge raves from our group. The ravioli was sublime and the fish was delicious. The service was impeccable ! The waiter and busboy worked in tandem beautifully- despite a very busy Monday night crowd. Kudos to the servers and the chefs who went above and beyond to give us an amazing culinary experience. We will return often!
Andrea’s is a hidden gem in Sarasota. The owner/chef is amazing. We have eaten here 20 times and each time it’s great. From the appetizers to dessert. Everything on the menu is delicious. He recently opened a pizza place wine bar right next door. He has some of the best wine selections in town. The pizza crust and sauce is also THE BEST IN SARASOTA! No question. Feel free to come give me a bad review if both of Andrea’s places aren’t super.
We have been coming to Siesta Key for over 30 years. We have eaten at most of the best restaurants on the key but tonight wanted to try something new. Andrea’s is right across the bridge feels like you are still on the key. It is family run. The food and service was excellent. The care to address food allergies and preferences was very much appreciated. They have the best gluten free bread and food options. Tonight our meal was so much better than our preferred Italian restaurant on the key, I am not sure we will go back there. Andrea’s is excellent!
Welcome to Italy . A little corner of real italian cuisine.
We have been going to Andrea’s for years and it never disappoints. The wine selection, the food, the service … always amazing! This time we went with the specials and the flounder, the veal chop were excellent! Our son enjoyed his lasagna as well.
If i could give 6 or 7 stars I would. Andrea's is by far the best Italian food in all of Sarasota. I have traveled to Italy many times and this is on par with the best food I've ever had. I brought my girlfriend here twice and we asked if we could do a tasting menu. Andrea whipped up 4 courses, including two appetizer courses, a pasta course with two pastas and two meat/fish. The food is creative and absolutely phenomenal. The service is also very very good. They pour your wine and water and don't rush you whatsoever. If Andrea the owner/chef is there the night you go you are in for a treat. Him and his staff are all Italian and have great personalities. One last great thing, the tasting menu described above, we were only charged $65 per person. This restaurant is amazing.
My girlfriend and I just went tonight for the first time, found it on accident and had no idea it would be so amazing!!! We walked in with no reservation and got a small table. Our waiter, Micheal was outstanding! Very insightful and knowledgeable about the food and wine. The bread and food is all fresh and made with care. I can tell Chef Andrea has a clear passion for what he does. He greets every guest and makes sure everything is perfect!! Going back again and again! Thank you for a wonderful experience Andrea's!!!!!
We had a party of eight close friends last night and Andrea and his staff took the very best care of us. The food was excellent and everyone was eager to share a bite of their dish. The wine list was deep with great choices and Andrea help us choose a few great selections. Will be back soon!
We were walking past Andrea's restaurant and we suddenly we smelled Italy, right in Sarasota! We had to go in to try it and have been regulars ever since! This is the most authentic incredible Italian food that money can buy in this town. With a fabulous wine selection unrivaled in quality, a creative delicious menu, and kind generous service, Andrea's is a dining experience not to be missed! Treat yourself!
I can happily report that Sarasota has a wonderful Italian restaurant that we will definitely return to again. The freshly prepared food and friendly and exquisite service were outstanding. All in our party of four were totally pleased with this dining experience. The bill was a little high but well worth it considering how well we were treated. We will highly recommend Andrea's to friends.
What stands out to me is that Chef Andrea is out and about greeting and thanking his customers, managing his staff, etc. Very professional and personable guy! The food is amazing. The servers are very attentive and happy. We are returning with a group because we were so impressed. The prices are very reasonable for this level of freshly made italian food.
We had dinner on the menu for a taste of Sarasota. This included appetizer, main entree and dessert. The service was excellent with a very helpful waiter who made suggestions and was spot on with his recommendations. The owner stopped by our table to meet us and to inquire about the meal as well. It was one of the best meals we all have experienced and we highly recommend this establishment! Thank you for your attention to our meals.
This was a truly exceptional dining experience. The ambiance, the wine, the food, and the service combined to make this the best Italian dining experience I've enjoyed in the Sarasota area. Could not have been more pleased and we will be back!
Amazing food, exceptional service! Small but quaint. We did the 3 course Savor Sarasota Menu for $32/each. Wine menu expansive and they also allow you to bring your own bottle for a $25 corking fee. Will definitely return.
Andrea's is a great find and we'll be going back. The pasta was cooked to perfection and the short ribs had superb flavor. The wine list is extensive. When you go, don't hold back... mangia e divertiti!
As native Italian from Rome I assure you this cannot get any better! Starting with home made bread, focaccia, pasta and Florentine steak! Wine selection is so vast I lost myself and asked Andrea the owner for recommendation. And wine was excellent as well. Will definitely spread the word and come back for more ! Bravo Andrea!
Everything about Andrea's reminded me of my trip to Rome. The menu is filled with seasonal and fresh options, and our waiter was friendly and very attentive, and happy to split an appetizer order for us. In addition to what we ordered, the chef and owner, Andrea, made us a small sampling plate of fresh pasta between courses. To top it off, Andrea personally visited our table several times to be certain that our meals were delicious and cooked perfectly. If you are looking for a quiet and romantic evening, you would be hard pressed to find a better place.
I have been to this restaurant two times in the past three weeks. The food is outstanding: the veal shank, the ravioli stuffed with meatsauce, and especially the chicken liver pate are as good as it gets. But what really sets this place apart is the personal interaction you will likely experience with Michael, the sole waiter, and Andrea, the chef/owner. Dining at Andea’s is a great overall experience that will leave you satisfied and feeling special.
Great family owned business highly recommend you should try.
Some of the best italian food we have eaten in Sarasota. Family owned restaurant with a warm welcoming ambiance. I had the veal picatta and it was amazing. Head chef checked on us multiple times to make sure we were satisfied. One of our new favorites, we will be back soon!
Andrea's combines a stellar menu of authentic Italian food with a warm, family oriented hospitality that makes dining here a real pleasure. Andrea personally checks in with his guests at least once during a meal and questions about the menu, preparation and ingredients are always welcome. We have been coming here regularly for the last couple of years and Andrea makes us feel like family (and feeds us like we are in a Michelin starred restaurant without all the pretense).
Our server Damiano was outstanding he was very knowledgeable about every question about the menu that i had. The food was outstanding and i 100% recommend to any person in the sarasota area.
We loved our food overall! Had a couple specials and they were great! Italian wine list is very expansive. Server very friendly and attentive. Not busy on a rainy MON night but would be different vibe with a full dining room. Looking forward to coming back and trying more menu items!
We had three different pasta dishes which were all outstanding. Wine, bread and dessert were likewise excellent. Our server, Dom, was knowledgeable and attentive.
Ate dinner Sat night with another couple. all 4 starters and entrees (8 in total) were great. Service was super. The two young waiters were well informed about menu , attentive and very cardial . loved Chef? came by to check on us. Nice touch greatly appreciate
Andrea and his staff always provide excellent meals and service. We've enjoyed many celebrations from taking clients there to celebrate their new home purchase, to celebrating family birthdays, high school graduations, and most recently, my husband's retirement. Andrea is personable and the food is terrific. We highly recommend!!
Andrea's is one of the only Italian restaurants in Sarasota that feels like Italy. Everything from the service, fresh ingredients, artisanal cooking, and the passion poured into each bite is PERFECT. You can really tell when a chef and staff take pride in their work. 10 stars
The menu selections are ok. Maybe I thought they would have more to choose from. Nevertheless, it was a great experience overall. The food is what you'd expect for Italian dining. The dessert was awesome, though.
I expected better. Service was subpar at best, too much arrogance, not enough performance. The osso bucco was good, but polenta is NOT creamed corn. My partners ravioli did look to be house made and was complimented upon, but the whole experience at that price left me looking down and shaking my head. Good luck.
Our first experience this past Saturday. First the good: Beautiful wine selection and delicious rice croquettes. Waiter was ok, but not memorable. Now the not so good: Pasta MUST be cooked in salted water. Totally lacked taste but was cooked perfectly Al dente. I had the Caesar salad with anchovies. Dressing was bland and left partially eaten accordingly. No garlic or any other seasoning. Entrée chosen was the seafood in linguine. Again there was no salt in the pasta and the sauce did not have any seasoning whatsoever on it. There was no taste of garlic, basil, parsley, wine, etc. The seafood was cooked perfectly, however, again, and very little taste. Most of the dinner (pasta) was left untouched. We waited almost two years to come to the restaurant (Covid) Sorry to say we left disappointed.
The food was divine; the service was lacking. There were 9 other people there when the two of us arrived. It took over 10 minutes to get some water and another 10-15 before we finally got a chance to ask for wine. We both got the special 3-course meal. I had four bites of my entree before I asked for a to-go box--and was looking forward to savoring it later on! Unfortunately, the very kind yet slow server took my dish to box it up and didn't bring it back. By the time we got the check, the place was empty so we didn't stick around long and honestly forgot about my enormous amount of leftovers until we got home. That was a lot of hard-earned money and very tasty food wasted.
Im writing this review in hopes the owners can better educate their staff on the importance of food allergies. While the food was delicious we specifically told our waiter of my allergies, then reiterated again when we ordered, and then checked again when the food came. One of the appetizers looked like it had something I was allergic to so I asked the waiter again to check with the chef. He never comes back so my friend goes and finds him to please ask so I can eat or not. I bit into another appetizer when he comes back and says nothing here has nuts except and points to the appetizer I just tried. Luckily I’m not anaphylactic but now I’ve been sick all night. The waiter was so nonchalant never apologized and just said oh it only had a little bit of nuts not a lot. I’m sharing this story so others with food allergies can be extra diligent here and the owners can better train the staff. Food allergies aren’t just an aversion someone could die if not taken seriously.
Food good! Service terrible!! We had a reservation for 6 and was forced to sit at a table for 4. Reservation made a week in advance. Asked for an additional chair and was loudly reprimanded in front of other customers by what appeared to be the head waiter. That waiter should never interact with customers. He was also rude to other staff personnel and terrible to a table helper. Another table near us voiced their opinion and was also appaled how he spoke to customers. Their is an old Management saying. Be respectful to 10 people and 1 or 2 will know about it. Be disrespectful to 1 person and 100 people will know about . Being a 1st generation Italian I can attest their are several outstanding restaurants in Sarasota. Put this one behind you!!!!
