A must try!!! I discovered this restaurant by luck as i was waiting for my car to be repaired nearby. The place is very clean and friendly and the management and staff are lovely people. I did not expect the buffet food to be so tasty and fresh! I had 2 plates of food and everything was delicious. I highly recommend this place!

I visited this buffet for the first time today with my family. The food was delicious, with a great variety. The employees were very welcoming, and the service was great. The price was about right and the place was clean. It was a great experience overall, and I will definitely come back. 👍

The fact that they have mustard greens and glass noodles surprised me and they were cooked very well. Was only here for lunch but told the menu selections are a little more higher end and more selection since it is higher priced for dinner and weekends so I'm very curious to come back then. Only thing I wish was that there were more fruit and ice cream options for desserts but not a deal breaker in the least. Definitely recommend.

Hidden gem, arguably the best quality/service buffet in North Jersey. Very easy to miss in the corner of a strip mall. Atmosphere is cozy and clean with live sports, food is always fresh and delicious with a great selection (Chinese/hibachi/sushi), service is quick, the owners are unbelievably friendly and know their customers. Parking and neighborhood literally couldn’t be better

It’s been reported this restaurant is in the top 10 in NJ. I believe it’s in the top 5, minimum, of Chinese buffets. The food is always fresh and new items pop up regularly. The cleanliness is spot on & even on the bathrooms! The staff are friendly and the service is great! It’s worth the ride and the price, which for the quality is reasonable, even if you can’t fit all you would like to try. I love this place. I've been going here once a week for 4 years. It's the best food I've ever eaten in a buffet style restaurant. I eat lunch here, but my wife likes seafood, so I take her for dinner which is more expensive as seafood is costlier. The staff is very friendly and hard working. The owner is very nice and is always there. There is a norovirus around North Jersey at the moment, so many people get sick in the stomach and think its food poisoning. I've noticed many negative reviews have one review and are likely competing businesses losing customers to this successful buffet. This is the very best Chinese buffet I have ever gone too. I'm a perfectionist and a bit of a fault finder. I just don't think it's possible to run a better buffet restaurant than this one.

We had a good impression of this buffet. At the entrance, we were asked to wait for a table, but it took no more than 5 minutes. The waiters were friendly, frequently came by to clear the dishes and ask about drinks. The food was fresh and tasty.

It was terrific! My brother and I went for dinner and the food was fresh and hot! Many delicious selections and the flavor of the food was overall great, some were so so. The ambience was spectacular very bright lightning, very spacious and our waitress was so nice! Greeted us and gave us napkins when we needed it and came with our refills at a perfect timing. Visited here after waiting a broadway show in NYC. Had a decent selection of different foods. Small sushi area. They do offer crab and lobster on the buffet but it has a glaze on it. Would've love to see scallops on the menu. Overall the servers were great amd they kept the food coming fresh for our group of 50

We have been going to this buffet for over 20 years. Moved away and haven't been in probably 7 years. Just went for Sunday lunch since we were in the area and it remains one of our favorites. Some places go downhill and get run down after years in business but this place remains fantastic. Its clean, good service and the food os great. Good variety and constantly refreshing and refilling. Sushi is fresh too and they have soft serve ice cream :) Love this place

Something for everyone! Clean buffet with fresh food. We took the kids and both the adventurous eater and the picky eater found plenty to enjoy. The toddler had chicken nuggets and tried a little of everything else. Having fruit and dessert after dinner was a real treat. All the kids keep asking to go back and we're happy to oblige!

Located in northern NJ. Rt 17 south in Ramsey. Hard to find a good chinese buffet thesedays. Used to like to go ichi ume, minado, port of call .etc .. but all closed. It is not highend buffet but i love to go eat here because : 1. Price is right. Most take chinese food price got closed to $10 for lunch special. Regular menu is more than what this buffet offers. 2. Friendly staff. They are always friendly and fast 3. variety. It is not top quality but still has some sushi rolls. Also made to order "Teppanyaki". Plus all regualr chinese food. Dont forget to have soft ice cream at the end. Only wish ... 1. Hope they offer snow crab legs ( for weekend even if price goes up) 2. Little more and better quality sushi . Not just rolls. 3. Their cake is very low quality. I know all chinese buffet has same bad quality cheese cake without any real cheese. This place is not dofferent. I will still go here to eat. Price is fair. Probably one of the nicest buffets I’ve been to, Grand buffet has a great selection of food from seafood, chicken, pork, and dumplings. The staff is friendly, and the place is very clean. It was a little pricey, but I would still recommend because of how well stocked it was.

Great food! Great service! Pricing is affordable. The place is clean. They make sure you wear your masks and gloves for safety measure! The soft ice cream is the best! and the chocolate chip cookies, wow! I love their dumplings, chicken nuggets freshly done. Their soups taste great! Almost complete fresh salad bar, my favorite! Smaller than most of buffets ive been too. The food is almost always the same at the buffet and this is the same. Food was decent and sushi was always available. When its busy, its crowded by the food and its easy to bump into people.

Went for lunch as I happened to be passing the area. Had my sights set on sushi and sashimi. No sashimi, and very limited selection of sushi. The sushi was primarily rolls containing very little fish. On the positive side, it tasted good and fresh. The restaurant seemed well kept up and clean. Price per person was about 20 dollars, which was very reasonable. However, I will probably seek another source next time.

This restaurant has reopened in April 2018. Nice interior and clean look for budget Chinese buffet place. Servers are very nice. Food is okay. I am not a big fan of their sushi and California rolls but other dishes are pretty decent such as stir fried vegetables, BBQ, soup, and dumplings.

I am not a fan of all-you-can-eat buffets but my two partners in crime love them so they always pressure me to go. This is the only one I ever agree to go to. The place is clean, the staff is polite and friendly, and there are plenty of food options. The sushi bar is always good, and they have a whole separate seafood section. Some of the food is a tad bland, but most of it is pretty good. My biggest complaint is that the food is not hot enough in the hot plates. We usually call ahead to see how busy it is and to see how many kids are there first, to minimize the level of buffet contamination, and the staff has always been honest with this info so far.

After reading reviews ahead of time, we decided to try this buffet. Although clean and welcoming, the decor is outdated. There was a normal variety of food but not much in the way of vegetables. No salad bar for instance, if your palette needs a break from saucy, rich food. One item that was fresh and bright was the cold seafood salad. Our server was cheerful and attentive. Decent overall.

My family and I visited for my birthday and it was delightful. They have a wide range of dessert including ice cream and toppings. Everything seemed fresh and was very tasty. I would have liked to see more variety in meats but don’t get me wrong they have a really good selection. I loved the sushi bar. Fresh and lots to choose from. The hosts/hostesses and servers are professional and welcoming. There is plenty of seating and it isn’t loud like a cafeteria. Everyone can be seen enjoying their food and good conversation. We will visit again and I have already spread the word about this place. If you like to eat but want to really get your money’s worth give this place a try. Don’t forget to order a nice pot of tea to wind down after your meal.

This buffet was exceptionally clean. The staff were beyond nice and friendly. I feel as if it may be family-owned, especially given how coordinated everyone was. If it is not family-owned, the staff certainly act like one, which is awesome. A staff member was always cleaning the environment, showcasing their cleanliness. The staff also made sure to replenish any low food items and discard any old food, replacing it with fresh food. The staff were great at checking in for drink refills and taking away finished plates. They offer a great selection of foods and desserts, and also have a hibachi option. The buffet offers child-friendly foods as well, such as chicken nuggets, fries, onion rings, and pizza. There even great vegetarian options as well to enjoy. The only reason I deducted a star was due to the fact that some of the fresh fruits where not ripe, and unfortfunately cause me to have a little stomach pain. As well as throw up all the fruit I ate. Otherwise, this buffet certainly impressed me, and I would come here again.

The price is very reasonable. The food is reasonably good. Some of the items taste better and somewhere okay can't complain about the place. I would recommend it if you're really hungry. On a scale of 1 to 10 I give it a seven seven and a half

Lunch buffet is very well worth it. Their fresh dumplings and every soup are stand outs. Everything tastes good but the main reason is because they load everything with tons of MSG. I had to drink so much water when I got home, all through the night and into the next day. Sushi quality and selection was pitiful. Do not come here expecting even decent sushi or seafood. Dessert was pretty good, mostly because they had a good assortment of fresh fruit. Service was quick with getting dirty plates off the table, as you go for more rounds. The problem is, they sat us near 2 elderly people who were openly coughing their brains out, nonstop, without covering their mouths. My family and I got very sick for over a week because they didn't sit us further away from those obviously sick folks. My stomach also got twisted up the following night, after eating at this buffet, but I can't say for certain it was because of eating here or it's because I got the flu from those sick people.

Stopped in for a takeout lunch today. $7.99/lb all mixed food. Some items were on point, the crab Rangoon, bbq chicken, thai shrimp, salt and pepper ribs, onion rings, stuffed clams. The calamari was awful, maybe restaurant depot? The items that were not up to par were the boneless spare ribs, sushi, beef and onions, and steamed shumai. They did have a large selection. The place looks clean and nice. However, the dinner’s price is too high for the amount of food they have here. Also, in the hibachi the flavors are very simple. They don’t even offer to add salt or anything that adds a little bit more of flavor. The sushi is regular too. It’s fresh but too veggie. In general, the place is good but too pricey for the little amount of food that they offer.

The food was fresh but flavorless. They did have a slight variation to the typical Chinese buffet (they had duck, crab claws, hibachi and sushi which I was excited about but all these things had zero flavor which was really disappointing). Whatever wasn’t flavorless was too greasy or overcooked/dry (this specifically for any of the fried foods like fries, chicken nuggets). The staff however was friendly/helpful and efficient. The atmosphere/decor was blah. There was a this shrimp dish that was sooooooo good. I don’t remember the name of it but it was lightly battered with some kind of cheese, savory and sweet sauce. I'm a single Mom of 2 kids it's not often take my kids out to eat especially on a holiday when prices are raised. If I do, I go to a buffet which is the next town over from me. I went to this one on Mother's Day specifically for the crab legs (my favorite) even though it's further and cost more then the one we usually go to. They didn't have crab legs, they did have soft shell crabs but the one by me always has those. A lot of the food was empty (it was a holiday and busy) so we did a lot of waiting around. I wasn't a fan of the hibachi (they didn't have garlic or hibachi sauce) I wound up getting teriyaki sauce but he used such a small amount that the food was dry. For me this was a waste of time, money, and gas. On a normal day it might be worth it though. My bill for myself and 2 kids under 11 was $72 if they did have the crab legs it would have been worth it though.

I visited Grand Buffet in New Jersey on the weekend for lunch, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. From the moment I walked in, the owner greeted us warmly and politely, which I appreciated. He also thanked us as we left, showing genuine courtesy. Sadly, the food itself did not match the hospitality. Many of the dishes tasted reheated and stale, as if they had been left over from the day before. The calamari was fried so dark brown it looked like it had been cooked multiple times, leaving it rubbery and unpleasant. The sea bass had the same problem—overcooked, lacking freshness, and with a stale flavor. Across the buffet line, most of the food was bland, greasy, and simply not enjoyable. The Hibachi station was another disappointment. The food had no flavor, and the cook immediately pointed to the tip jar the very first time I asked him to prepare something, insisting I drop in a tip before he even started cooking. That felt unprofessional and uncomfortable, especially in a buffet setting where tipping is usually optional and based on service. On another visit for the weekday lunch, I tried the cantaloupe, and it tasted spoiled to the point —it was not edible. Fruit should be one of the simplest and freshest items to serve, so this was especially concerning. The overall atmosphere didn’t help either. The presentation of the food was sloppy, and nothing looked appetizing. For a buffet, variety and freshness are expected, but here everything tasted tired, reheated, and poorly prepared. While I appreciated the owner’s politeness and warm greeting, the food quality and service made this one of the worst buffet experiences I’ve had. Between the lack of fresh food, poor cooking quality, spoiled fruit, and the awkward demand for tips, I cannot recommend this place.

The lunch buffet is super affordable but the food quality is not the best. There were some tasty options to be sure but not the best. Standard American Asian options meant for the typical American taste pallet. Not really authentic. The service, decor, and cleanliness were all good. Next time I’m in the area, I’ll try a different place.

I do not like giving bad reviews, but I would never visit this place again. The initial approach from staff was not welcoming. There was nothing besides the cheese balls and pork fried rice that was good.

This place has good food, but they’re horrible. OK they have one waitress working the whole restaurant I had to pay for a refill so I had to pay two bills twice. They’re horrible. I will not recommend this restaurant to nobody

If you're considering a visit to Grand Buffet, you might want to think twice. We recent experience there left much to be desired, primarily due to the quality of the food. Many dishes seemed stale as if they had been sitting out for too long, and the flavors were generally bland and unappealing. Additionally, the selection was not as varied as one might hope from a buffet. Overall, the dining experience was disappointing, and it's hard to recommend Grand Buffet based on this visit.

We’ve been coming here for years and years. Unfortunately there was an entire roach in the rice steamer during tonight’s visit. Pointed out to someone coming out of the kitchen and they quickly whisked the rice steamer away. Didn’t offer any kind of apology or compensation towards the bill for discovering a bug in the food.

They are now functioning with an extensive menu of buffet items but The Grand Buffet has gone straight downhill in these times of inflation. Their prices are much higher and the lack of consistency of food quality makes dining there any more like playing Russian Roulette. They added Lobster a while back and at first it was pretty fair but the last couple of times I was there it tasted like they were often buying long dead and rancid smelling lobster just to get a very low price for the suppliers garbage. That practice is likely illegal and definitely dangerous to one's health. Their duck is a similar story in that it degrades in taste and texture after sitting out too long. What seals the deal for me to never dine there again is that the management can be downright nasty if you try to talk to them. Going there is some distance for us and at times I have called to confirm that they have the items we like best. On several occasions I've spoken to one of the owner family to ask and been told... yes we have lobster or crabs or duck only to find that they were flat out lying and when politely questioned they answer... NO DELIVERY TODAY in a very nasty tone. I used to like it there but I will not tolerate the nastiness, deception and sharply declining quality. I give it zero stars..!!!

-BEWARE-A few days ago, my wife and I dined at the Grand Buffet in Ramsey, and our experience was deeply disappointing. While getting ribs from the buffet, I noticed they were extremely dry and clearly old. Having worked in the food industry for most of my life, I’m familiar with what old food looks like, and it was obvious these ribs had been sitting out for a while. Several other customers also noticed the same issue and avoided them. I reported this to the manager, who assured me he would address the issue with the kitchen. However, after eating for about 30 minutes, the ribs were still on the buffet. When I approached the manager again, he insisted there was nothing wrong with the ribs. It became apparent that this might be a business strategy to avoid replacing the ribs and to push less expensive items. Regrettably, we chose to stay and finish our meal. The next day, my husband became violently ill, and it was clear he had food poisoning. We will definitely not be returning to this restaurant and caution others to avoid it to prevent a similar experience

Been coming here for 20 years. With the price hikes..... just not worth it anymore. Place was empty....which it never used to be. Greed destroys even the best places.....enjoy owners. This time was my last time.

Prices went up so much and the food selection is so limited it is not worth going there anymore after being a regular there for years. They charged me fir dinner even though they didn't any dinner dishes. I am definitely done with them.

Today I went to eat with my son around 3:00 PM. When we walked in, no one greeted us or asked how many people were in our party. I sat at a table that already had utensils and waited to be attended, but no one came. The only interaction we had was a waitress removing the utensils without saying anything. After waiting, I got up with my son to get food. When my son sat down, I took utensils from a nearby table, and only then did a waitress approach us to say that we could not sit there because that section was closed. I don’t understand why this was not mentioned earlier, when the utensils were first removed, instead of waiting until we had already served ourselves and my son had already sat down. At that moment, my son asked me, “Dad, can’t we eat here?” which made the situation even more uncomfortable. Overall, the experience felt disorganized and poorly handled.

This place is a RIPOFF! My goodness, I thought taking my 3 kids out to dinner on a weeknight was fun. My kids are 5, 7 & 13. They charged my tiny 7yr old $18.00 - my tall 13yr old the same price as a grown adult. Drinks are NOT included for the kids either. Unbelievable that I spent $100.00 at a buffet on a Wednesday evening at 4pm. Was better off going to a chilis across the street for $13-$18 a person.

Astoundingly disgusting. My wife vomited in the parking lot. Food was not fit for human consumption. Tasted old, cold and rancid. Buffet food was cold, smelled and tasted old. Approached management for a resolution, and he rudely stated they have been there for 30 years, and did nothing to reach an accord. Save your health and money. Zero stars. It makes Hard Wok Buffet look like a Michelin star establishment. Better off dining from a dumpster, truthfully. Could gag a maggot. Was like eating at fear factor. 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
