The drunken noodles and fried chicken were the highlights. Maybe the best mango sticky rice I've had in LA. portions are small but the flavor is excellent.

Anajak Thai in Los Angeles is a gem for Thai food lovers! The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff make it a great spot. I loved the Pad Thai and the flavorful Green Curry. If you're craving Thai, this place is a must-visit! Can't wait to return!

A truly enjoyable omakase with wine pairing. We ordered the soft shell crab and crab fried rice along with the omakase. The wine pairing was excellent. Lots of good food so wear loose clothing.

Went to check out the Tuesday night tacos and it did not disappoint. The highlight was absolutely the hamachi tostada - really good flavor and healthy amount of hamachi. Got the fried chicken, fish tacos, carnitas tacos, grilled cabbage, crab rice and pad see ew. All super good - didn’t love the grilled cabbage as much as i thought i would. The pad see ew is the best I’ve ever had from any resteraunt. The vibe was cool - in the ally, paper plates and folding tables with good music track - fun and different. Want to come back for regular Wed-Sunday service inside.

Vibes: immaculate Wine: perfection Food: I dream about it (their pad thai is the best I've ever had. ever.) We've been for both their taco tuesdays and their regular menu and book a reso for the next time before we even finish our meal.

For a “taco Tuesday,” this vibe was NOT what we were expecting 😆. But I’m all for the white tablecloth + wine experience. And man, those fry-aged fish tacos were something else. I might just order a ton of those next time I come. For a group of 5, I recommend ordering at least 6-7 dishes. This is what we did: 3 orders of dry aged fish tacos, 1 laab tot, 1 fried chicken wings, 1 bbq pork collar (my fave), 1 Tom yum, and 1 pad siew. Parking is not too bad with the residential area + street.

Delicious food and friendly service. Very knowledgeable sommelier. I recommend dining outdoors if you are sensitive to loud music. The fried chicken is a must.

I cannot think of a better Thai restaurant in Los Angeles. We had the crudo, crispy garden rolls, massaman braised beef, panang curry, and the drunken noodles. The massaman braised beef and crudo were the stars, but everything was delicious. I cannot wait to go back.

Anajak has an amazing energy from the moment you arrive. A bright neon sign adorns the small restaurant. As I queued for taco Tuesday, I peered in to see the cozy set up of about 10 tables surrounded wall to wall by bottles of wine. The staff warmly welcomed me and I was sat down. The sommelier was available for patrons to choose a bottle from their well-organized, but dizzyingly long wine list. My waiter’s excitement about the food made me even happier I made the trip. I ordered a few items from the special menu, including the bluefin chuturo with Santa Barbara uni tostada, BBQ pork collar, fried chicken and off menu drunken noodles. As the food arrived, it was clear each plate was prepared with care. If I had to pick, my favorite bite was the bluefin chuturo. The uni and fish were fresh and the greens they were paired with refreshing. I can’t say enough good things about my experience and meal from start to finish. I will definitely return on future trips.

We finally tried Anajak this Friday! It has been on our list for awhile. There was a lot of hype around this place which makes me a little nervous in case it doesn’t live up to what I’ve heard. Happy to announce it is a hype and a must try while around LA. Get your hands on this tasty Thai food. We tried: Papaya salad, short ribs, Fried chicken, Whole fish, Massaman and greens. Maybe one little negative thing: the whole is a little pricey for the quantity we had but the cilantro garnish was delicious.

Really enjoyed the Massaman Curry, the Crudo, sticky rice, Grilled Black Sea Bream, and omg! The cabbage was surprisingly the standout for me!!

What a great establishment Went here for dinner. Service was impeccable and our waiter was very attentive with great recommendations The appetizer of lamb meatballs had great spice (a bit dry) The pad Thai and pad see ew had fantastic flavor, bold spices, great texture and generous portion size Would recommend to anyone in the are. Reservations are typically available 8 weeks out on their app! Great wine selection too! Ample street parking in the area

Line up an hour early before the place open to get a good spot in the front during Taco Tuesday because they get very busy. The line extended far in the back so you could be standing there for a long time. I parked at the Chiptole parking area to avoid street parking. We were like the 20th people in line so it took almost an hour after they open to go put in our order and be seated. We got the Mochiko Fried Chicken, Drunken Noodles with Chicken, Labtot, Dry Aged Fish Taco (The fish is Sea Bass) and Mango Spicy Rice. My fiancée also got her Thai Tea which she loved, they don't have straws here. The Fried Chicken was delicious and I also liked the Drunken Noodles. My sister loved their Lab Tot since that's her favorite. They accidentally give our taco to the table in front of us that got seated after us and then forgot about our taco order until we flagged down a waiter. My only recommendation is for them to switch to a digital ordering system because they are going by receipts on their orders and it can get confusing. It's all outdoor seating and they don't check for covid vaccination because everyone sat outside.

We made our first visit to Anajak Thai, driving two hours to join our friends. It was definitely worth the journey. We enjoyed a variety of delicious dishes, including the standout crispy fried chicken, flavorful crudo kampachi, pad Siew, pad thai, beef panang, pork ribs, and garden wings. While the prices were reasonable, the portion sizes were a bit small. We ordered the pad thai after finishing all the other dishes. The extensive wine list and sommelier's assistance in selecting a great bottle impressed us. Our server even shared a recipe for making sticky rice with mango since they didn't offer desserts. We will definitely return to try more dishes.

Went here for my anniversary with my partner, everything was amazing. The wine, food, service and atmosphere. Very hard to choose a favorite dish, everything tasted incredible. One of the best meals I've ever had hands down or up, whichever is better.

As local we always walked by this restaurant, every time we wanted to dine in it was fully booked. We finally decided to make reservations on Resy. The team is super hospitable, the food was all tasty. Family owned restaurants that take pride in their menu is always hidden gem.

I waited a month to get a reservation and it was worth the wait. Place is small but still comfy, the host was welcoming and our server was awesome. We order the Laab tot, 4 pork meat balls kinda crispy but juicy inside, lemony and a hint of spicy flavor and those crispy mint(?) leaves WOW!! Then we had the grilled black Sea Bream that was simply marvelous, to finish we enjoyed the massaman Curry beef with Russian bananas and nantes Carrots, it was a small portion because we shared all of our dishes 😋. Downsides (for my hubby) they only serve wine and he is a cocktail/beer guy, but we enjoyed two glasses of rosé. They didn't have any desserts last Sunday. They said it was due to delivery issues. Still we are giving 5 stars because we really enjoyed the food and service and want to go back to try other dishes...like the bbq pork collar and the fried chicken.

I recently visited this Thai restaurant, and I’m still thinking about the meal days later — that’s how good it was. From the warm welcome at the door to the last bite of dessert, everything about this place impressed me. If you love Thai food or even if you’re trying it for the first time, this restaurant sets the bar high. Atmosphere & First Impressions The moment I walked in, I was greeted with friendly smiles and the aroma of fresh herbs, spices, and sizzling dishes coming from the kitchen. The décor struck a perfect balance between modern and traditional: warm lighting, elegant Thai accents, comfortable seating, and a clean, inviting environment. The staff seated us quickly and offered water while we browsed the menu. They were attentive without being overbearing — always nearby when needed but never interrupting the dining experience. Service That Feels Personal One of the highlights was the service. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and helped us choose dishes based on our spice tolerance and preferences. They explained everything clearly, made honest recommendations, and checked in at just the right moments to make sure everything was perfect. They also happily accommodated dietary preferences and offered options to adjust spice levels, which was greatly appreciated. Appetizers: A Flavorful Start We started with a few appetizers, and each one was a standout: Crispy Spring Rolls: Golden, crunchy, and filled with fresh vegetables. The sweet chili dipping sauce added the perfect tangy kick. Chicken Satay: Tender, juicy, and beautifully seasoned. The peanut sauce was rich, creamy, and honestly some of the best I’ve had. Tom Yum Soup: A burst of bright, aromatic flavors — lemongrass, lime, chili, and mushrooms all working together in perfect harmony. Each appetizer was served hot, fresh, and beautifully presented. Main Dishes: Absolutely Delicious The main dishes were where the restaurant truly shined. Every plate that came out looked like something from a food magazine — vibrant colors, fresh ingredients, and generous portions. Pad Thai: Probably the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly balanced — not too sweet, not too tangy — with plump shrimp, fresh bean sprouts, crushed peanuts, and lime. Green Curry: Creamy, aromatic, and full of depth. The combination of coconut milk, basil, and just the right amount of spice made this dish absolutely addictive. Basil Chicken (Pad Krapow): Spicy, flavorful, and full of fresh basil. The dish had a great kick without overpowering the natural flavors. Pineapple Fried Rice: Colorful and delicious, with perfectly cooked rice, bits of pineapple, cashews, and vegetables. A perfect balance of savory and subtle sweetness. Everything tasted freshly prepared and seasoned with care. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in their craft. Drinks & Dessert We tried a couple of their specialty drinks, including Thai iced tea — rich, creamy, and exactly what you want to cool down after a spicy dish. For dessert, the mango sticky rice was outstanding. Perfectly ripe mango slices, warm sweet sticky rice, and a light coconut drizzle. Simple but unforgettable. Portions & Pricing The portions were generous, and the pricing felt very fair for the quality and freshness of the food. You definitely get your money’s worth here. This restaurant could easily charge more for the standard they deliver, but they keep it reasonable. Final Thoughts This restaurant is a gem. Whether you’re craving comfort food like Pad Thai or bold flavors like spicy curries, they deliver excellence across the board. The atmosphere is relaxing, the staff is top-tier, and the food is fresh, flavorful, and consistently delicious. I left full, happy, and already planning my next visit. If you’re looking for authentic, high-quality Thai cuisine with great service and a welcoming vibe, this is absolutely the place to go. Highly recommended — five stars without hesitation.

My personal experience of the service and food at this newly crowned restaurant was excellent. That also explained why reservation is hard to come by and we did and have been trying for a whole week until just a day before an outdoor table was available (canceled booking get snatched in nano seconds). We felt triumphant !! My fav is the fried chickens (super crispy skin and moist meat) and pineapple glazed pork ribs (soft and flavourful). I would give the grilled dry-aged fish a shout out too but its only served one half side of the fish and for 49bucks that aint cheap but also seriously tasty. The citrusy of the sauce just brings out the freshness of the fish and excites your palette. The tom yum on the other hand I would not recommend it, its a little fishy and underwhelming. Drunken noodle was another stand out. The flat rice noodle they use is nothing like other restaurant. Its thin, less starchy and a very good mouth feel to it like crystal noodle(水晶粉). The night could not complete without our friendly server and knowledgeable sommelier that both bring joy to our table. Since the restaurant didnt have any dessert, we were recommended by our (of course) lovely server to a nearby sweet spot just down the street. Khrup.

I drive down Ventura all the time and there’s always a huge line of people waiting to get in outside. This has always intrigued me and has made me want to go, but I was a bit turned off by the lines. So I drove by and asked if I could make reservation for 2 that day. With hurricane Hilary on its way, some people canceled and I was able to get a reservation for that same night which was a pleasant surprise! The host and everyone was very nice. I can’t remember our waiter’s name, (maybe Gabe ) all I remember is he was tall, dark, and handsome lol. We decided to eat inside which is small, packed, and very loud with music blasting and everyone talking. They also have outside dining in front and on side of the restaurant in alley. We tried a delicious Stein Riesling glass of wine and bottle of Elio Perrone Bigaro moscato. (Although the wine is great, it’s overpriced about 2x as much as the regular price in stores) They change their wine by the glass menu weekly which I love. We started with the papaya salad which was super spicy but so tasty and flavorful. Then we had the Southern Thai fried chicken which was really good, freshly made, and fulfilling. From these two items we were already full between the two of us but we still had two other dishes we had ordered which included the Tom Yum Fumet soup and the Drunken Noodles. Like I said we were already full, but we still ate the soup which was so good. It came with a lil’ kick, lemony flavor, and full fish (watch out for the bones we both almost choked). We couldn’t eat anymore so we took the Drunken noodles home and it was just as good as everything else we ate at the restaurant. The noodles also had a little spiciness to it and we got it with chicken which was good. Next time I want to try it with shrimp. All in all the food was good and satisfying, service great, and it’s definitely going to be added to my new go to spots in the valley. Try it out for yourself and see what you think!

WOW! There was so much hype about Anajak and it’s been so long I have been wanting to go but the reservation is hard to get. Happy to say it lived up to all my expectations and more. We sat inside which was very nice. The outside area looks nice too if its not a very hot day. We ordered the following and I rank them in order of what I liked most: 1. Panang Beef 2. Pad Siew 3. Thai Basil Beef(very spicy) 4. Papaya Salad 5. Thai Fried Chicken (this was great but nothing special in my opinion) The vibe was awesome too and the service was great. Anna was very helpful and helped us choose the best options.

Great food! Knowledgeable and courteous wait staff. The hostess area being on the sidewalk is a bit off especially since you have to wait for your table on a busy street. The meal pacing is somewhat rushed. Wine only (extensive list). No beer, cocktails or mocktails.

Visiting LA, this is a tough table to get but we lucked out with an outdoor table last minute cancellation. These days it is a little dicey to eat on the sidewalk in LA but we had a pleasant experience, except for one out of control mentally ill homeless woman, who, unfortunately decided to focus on us despite the best efforts of the restaurant staff. We very much enjoyed all the dishes we shared. One critical note regarding the dry aged fish, it was delicious but at $49 the portion is ridiculously small. As a general note, I would say the portions are not really generous, especially for a meal that you may want to share with your dinner companions. Having said that, we loved the drunken noodles, the fried chicken, the ribs, and the dry, aged fish…the Tom yum. Enjoyed our interaction with the sommelier, she found a somewhat reasonably priced Riesling for us on the rather fully priced wine list. Not a lot of bargains to be found on there. Hopefully, Los Angeles will deal with its homeless problem on the streets, so that local businesses will not suffer from the negative impact to customers.

First--a BIG shout out to Elliot (I will explain later). I have to start with a little history. My sister has lived around the corner from Anajak since it opened. She has been coming here forever, and I have dined a few times when I am in town alone or with my wife. I have not been here in years---what a difference! The last time I dined, it was a small restaurant with a few plain tables --and I believe--the mother and father working the entire restaurant. It was a great/inexpensive local place to eat. This visit I was only in the area for a few hours and suggested "that Thai place around the corner". My sister informed me it was now the #1 restaurant in LA--uh oh. We took a chance--with no reservations. Rather than turn us away, Elliot (from our conversation knowing I was only in town for hours to see my sister) was able to provide us a table from a no-show reservation. On to the food. The only change I noticed was we were now paying best restaurant prices; not little restaurant around the corner prices. The food was excellent. We decided to split a few items and ordered pork ribs, Pad Thai, and Prik King green beans. The ribs were tasty, with a flavorful sauce and a good amount of meat. Hopefully they did not mind us eating them with our hands :O ---they did provide a wet nap. The Pad Thai had a perfect mix of flavors with a nice peanut taste. I was able to take most of the ground peanuts for my portion as my sister only likes a hint of peanut. Finally the Prik King green beans---I THINK were my favorite. They were prepared perfectly, with a sauce which provided a consistent spicy taste that did not overwhelm. As a nice final touch, my sister talked to our server who she thought she recognized. The server stated she has been there for years, and thought my sister looked familiar and said she remembered my sister and her daughter.

Anajak Thai Cuisine started with a longer wait than expected of over an hour, but the experience quickly turned into something special. The owner personally welcomed us, ensuring my family of six was comfortable and well taken care of. His genuine warmth and support made us feel like valued guests, not just customers. The food was nothing short of phenomenal. Each dish was crafted with such care that it left us wanting to explore the entire menu. The combination of incredible food and heartfelt hospitality makes Anajak Thai Cuisine a standout. It’s a place where the atmosphere is as memorable as the dishes, and we can’t wait to return to try more!

Hana was an excellent, friendly, warm server. When food arrived she happily took our 6 month old for a walk around the outdoor restaurant while we ate. She was gracious, understood the menu, and made great recommendations. Same with Melissa the wine person. She was great with selections and tastings. The food was delicious. The Thai fried chicken is a staple. We ordered a couple tostadas, the cabbage, the drunken noodles, and a Thai iced tea. Everything was wonderful. We will be back!

Best Thai food in LA! You can taste the quality ingredients in every dish! The fried chicken is some of the best I’ve had. The staff is friendly and the Somm team is very helpful choosing the right wine to pair with our dinner.

If you’re on the hunt for authentic Thai cuisine that delivers an explosion of flavors, look no further than Anajak Thai. This charming eatery has quickly become a favorite for food enthusiasts, and it’s easy to see why. Starting with the Crispy Garden Rolls, your taste buds are in for a treat. These rolls are perfectly fried to a golden crisp, encasing a vibrant mix of fresh vegetables that retain their crunch and flavor. Paired with a tangy dipping sauce, they serve as an ideal appetizer to kick-start your meal. Each bite is a delightful balance of texture and taste, leaving you craving more. Next, the Pork Ribs with Pineapple Glaze steal the show. These melt-in-your-mouth ribs are coated in a luscious pineapple glaze that offers the perfect blend of sweet and savory. The meat is tender and falls off the bone, while the glaze adds a tropical flair that complements the richness of the pork beautifully. It's a dish that not only satisfies the palate but also leaves you reminiscing about its unique flavors long after the meal is over. Finally, the Chicken Drunken Noodles are the ultimate comfort food. This stir-fried dish showcases wide rice noodles tossed with juicy chicken and an array of colorful veggies, all brought together by a smoky, spicy sauce that tantalizes the senses. The noodles are cooked to perfection, allowing them to soak up all the delicious flavors while still retaining a satisfying chew. Overall, dining at Anajak Thai is a journey through vibrant flavors and delightful textures. The combination of amazing dishes like the crispy garden rolls, the succulent pork ribs, and the hearty drunken noodles makes it a must-visit for anyone who appreciates quality Thai cuisine. Whether you're a longtime fan or a first-time visitor, Anajak Thai promises an unforgettable culinary experience.

LA Time’s 2022 Best Restaurant of the Year and James Beard award recipient - with those kind of accolades, of course I needed to try. Made a reservation a month out online and had dinner at 6pm on a Saturday with my dad. We ate outside in the alley and I liked the outdoor seating because it was a bit loud and cramped inside (although if that’s the vibe you’re going for, it’s not bad). My dad had the wine flight, which on that day was $60 (its market price) and the theme was Gamay. The som did a great job of explaining the backgrounds of the wines and our waitress Pam was so nice. I had a Thai iced tea (not listed on the menu) and they give you water to serve yourself with at the table. We got the pork ribs for our app; although it wasn’t as tender as I thought it would be, the sauce was really tasty. I appreciated the wet wipe they gave us to use after eating it. The southern Thai fried chicken was my favorite dish - it comes in 5 pieces and some sticky rice with a sweet chili sauce and a vinegar sauce. The rice flour batter was crispy and the chicken was juicy. My dad found the drunken noodles to be the best, as there was nice flavor and the right amount of spice. We were deciding between this and noodles supreme, but ultimately the drunken noodles are spicy whereas the noodles supreme are just primarily made with eggs and onions. Service was on top of everything and it was cool being in the alley (it was a little cramped inside). Bathrooms are available inside and are single occupant. Credit cards accepted. Metered street parking.

Ate there with some friends on Saturday evening and, as usual, the food and service were exceptional! The Sommelier helped us choose a few bottles from their list and her choices were impeccable. Finally, we saw the manager promptly deal with a belligerent dinner with such professionalism, composure and tactfulness. It was enlightening to see her protect her staff and the rest of the guest to ensure everyone’s night wasn’t spoiled. Kudos to her and the team. Thank you!

The food was very good, except they don’t have any cocktail or beer even no hot tea, which we were so surprised they only serve wine, but in overall everything was good, this is considered one of the top 100 restaurant in Los Angeles. It worth it to try definitely. The Lobster was the most delicious dish! 🦞

Nothing short of spectacular. We were invited by friends for dinner. This is a fine dining experience. The spectacular reviews are all true. Each plate was better than the next. It was great to be with several people so we could try more things. The fried chicken was wonderful, the pork ribs were fall off the bone, the Cabbage was unique. Ian the sommelier was very helpful. Overall a spectacular experience.

Wonderful vibes in an alley. Very kind Staff! Had the pleasure of attending their Thai Taco Tuesday. Seating for 4 was much quicker than expected, considering the massive line. Each dish held it's own, and could easily be consumed twice over for how delicious they were. The only thing we wish we had was a larger stomach to taste more of the menu! One of the best wine lists in LA, most notably their Riesling. You must have the Laab tots. Thai style meatballs. Could eat 50 of them. Scrumptious. Their fried chicken is too delicious. Comes with sticky rice. Papaya Salad had just the right amount of spice. Crab fried rice 🔥 Kampachi Tostada 🔥 Striped bass tacos were smashing. Order as many as you can. Grilled Black Sea Bream had magic sauce on it. Drunken noodles topped off the meal. Just the right amount for 4 people. They listen to Hip-Hop at this restaurant. Another bonus! Our good friend Skinny Pablo recommended this joint. We shall return!

Stellar and modern takes on Thai cuisine that is both beautifully prepared and presented. I suggest ordering 2-3 dishes per diner, plus mango sticky rice for dessert. My favorites were the fried chicken, drunken noodles with tofu, and the crudo in pastry cup. The wine list is ridiculously expensive, but the sommelier was incredibly helpful with suggestions. The music inside is a little loud which forced me to speak much louder to be heard, but that's our only gripe.

First time here 100/10 Food was so good, fried chicken, ribs, drunken noodles all lived up to my expectations. Fried chicken- perfectly crispy and juicy Ribs - perfect smoky sweet, falls right off What exceeded my expectations though was the service. Jose was incredibly helpful and set the right tone for the night. Everyone else was great too, very attentive staff. They really make you feel like a VIP. It was also cool to see/hear the kitchen nearby, they seem to really have it together. Thank you all. I will be back.

My first time here-wow!! I was blown away by the friendliness of the staff (I’ve never had so many staff check in with me during my dining experience in a while). They definitely know how to make someone feel at home. I’d say the big miss was the fried chicken (it’s 5 pieces). I was curious about it since it was their “signature dish”. For one it’s like $35/40 which I think is a little steep. I thought it was very underwhelming it just felt very disjointed (didn’t really get the signature appeal of it). The waiter asked if I wanted to take any of it home (I told him I wasn’t very impressed with it; was a miss for me). Between the steep price tag and underwhelming flavor I definitely had some “buyers remorse” on that dish haha. I went with the spicy drunken noodles (added chicken) that was very delicious (great flavors). It definitely brought the heat; portion size was appropriate for the pricing. I’d definitely come back for the drunken noodles or to try other entree options definitely pass on the fried chicken. Parking is street parking; the lot next to them is for chipotle customers. I’d definitely recommend Anjak Thai excellent spot for Thai food in LA.

Well the rumors are true… this place is exceptional. This restaurant has the bones of a neighborhood Thai joint with upscale service and quality. They do Thai classics that are authentic but still elevated. The pad see ew was perfection with the right balance between sweet, salty, and smoky. A very simple dish that is hard to knock out of the park like this. The shrimp was succulent and charred. Wow…. I loved the pork ribs and the crudo as well. We drank the fish sauce with our spoons. And the seasonal Riesling was the perfect compliment. We snagged a 4:45 reservation around a week out and even though it was early it was well worth it. I don’t think I would wait longer for a later time slot. LA is full of great Thai restaurants that are more affordable and you don’t have to wait at, but this is definitely a very special meal.

Finally got to come here and it did not disappoint. It was funny to see how every single table got the fried chicken. Our waiter recommended we use the sauce from the prawns for our chicken and that was the exact right recommendation. That said, the drunken noodles were really special too. Not oily, with a ton of nuanced flavor that you don't usually get for that dish.

Dinner here was incredibly tasty. The dishes here are modern, thoughtful Thai dishes with authentic flavours. There is the perfect balance between the classics as well as the chefs own creations. It is hard to pick a favorite dish but you should not skip the crudo, scallops or friend chicken. Wish we had more room to try all of the other dishes. Service here was also incredibly attentive.

Celebrated our anniversary at Anajak Thai and it was such a special experience. The restaurant itself is small and quaint, which adds to its charm - but you absolutely need reservations. It was completely packed, and we felt fortunate to get seated. Also, be mindful of their limited opening hours when planning your visit. The customer service was outstanding. Our waiter was attentive and made excellent recommendations that truly elevated our meal. We started with Thai iced tea, which was good but nothing particularly memorable. However, the fried chicken was phenomenal - OMG. It was incredibly juicy, packed with flavor, and the portion was very generous. Easily one of the highlights of the night. The fish tacos were just okay, but the whole fish and fried rice were delicious. The rice had great flavor, though it could have used slightly less oil. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The atmosphere, service, and standout dishes made it worth the hype. I would absolutely come back again and highly recommend it.

Remember to book a table in advance especially if you want indoor seating! We were seated pretty soon after our reservation time and the hostess was very friendly and helpful. Jose, our server, made sure that we understood the menu as well as any recommendations to try since it’s our first time at this restaurant. The fried chicken was definitely the highlight dish. It was perfectly made, seasoned and the meat was juicy and full of flavor. The taste was like a fusion of Thai and American flavors. Crab fried rice was also really good and gave a generous amount of crab! Jose was attentive and the busser was as well making sure our plates were cleared and always filling our waters. The service here really is top notch for a small restaurant! I will have to come back especially when mangoes are in season and they have the mango sticky rice for dessert!

We made a reservation for 5:45 PM, and from the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We ordered five dishes—fish, Larb Tod, southern-style chicken, and shrimp—and every dish was absolutely delicious. The highlight for us was the sauces that came with each dish; they were outstanding and really elevated the flavors. We truly loved the sauces and how well they paired with the food. We will definitely be coming back again. Parking can be a bit challenging, so spare some extra time to find street parking. Totally love it , tho.

I’m confused by the negative reviews I see of this restaurant. I understand that some restaurants have off nights, but this was probably one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in LA in a long time. My partner and I had Valentine’s Day dinner here, we split the pork meatballs (Laab tot) , the barbecue pork collar, the shrimp pad siew and the Thai iced tea. All bangers. We totally enjoyed ourselves.

very impressive how each dish is unique and delicious—you can taste the quality. my favorite were probably the grilled cabbage and laab tot! there’s also a hugee wine selection with very knowledgeable staff. the whole place is extremely welcoming, their history rooted in an inspiring family story. highly, highly recommend this restaurant :)

Staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. Food was 10/10, no notes it was amazing. Food was brought out in a timely manner and paired to complement each other, it truly added to the experience! Will definitely be back in the summer to try the mango sticky rice :)

Very loud. It’s fine for a conversation between two people but with more than two it becomes difficult to hear each other. The food was great overall though some dishes were way too sweet. Do NOT get the cabbage !!!! it was the worst dish. The highlight of the night was our waiter Lindsey , she was absolutely phenomenal!

My fiancé and I waited over a year to finally have the chance to see what all the hype was about, and it was absolutely worth the wait. We were able to get a reservation during their reopening. We started with the Papaya Salad and wow, this was the absolute favorite of the night. The flavors of the papaya and peach was just perfection. Next, we had the Thai River Prawn. The taste and and texture was so unique but delicious. Our mains were the Pad Siew and the drunken noodles. Both were the best of those dishes I’ve ever had. It was an incredible experience and I can’t wait to go back!

Brilliant spot. My thai wife said its authentic but even better than that. Service was great. I sat outside and it was great. Inside probably is worse because its so loud. Ordered 5-6 things and everything was perfect. Will come again!

Great restaurant! We ordered the fried chicken, the scallops, and the laab moo. The chicken was my favorite, it was very crispy and the sauces that came with it were excellent. One of the sauces is quite spicy. The scallops were delicious and the laab moo was great too, and they were both the perfect amount of spicy in my opinion. The chicken came out super fast, the scallops took a little while but it wasn’t egregious. Overall, everything was excellent and I would very happily return.

This used to be a neighborhood gem. I was slightly disappointed in my experience as I haven't been there in a while . I booked an inside reservation and they were only able to accommodate us outside even though it was 4:40 and there was no one in the restaurant. I was concerned because of noise due to the fact that the restaurant sits right on Ventura Boulevard . I expressed this concern and after much debate were seated right under a speaker . The chairs were extremely uncomfortable folding chairs and the tables were straight from Costco with a tablecloth thrown on top of it. The service and food were excellent but the food came out too fast and we felt rushed. We were out of the restaurant in under an hour. And the interior was still mostly empty.

Anajak Thai: A Flavorful Gem in LA Anajak Thai has quickly become my go-to spot for authentic Thai cuisine in Los Angeles. The atmosphere is incredibly inviting, with a 2000s music playlist that adds a nostalgic touch. But it's the food that truly steals the show. From the moment I took my first bite, I knew I was in for a treat. The flavors are bold, complex, and perfectly balanced. Whether you're a fan of spicy curries or delicate noodle dishes, Anajak Thai has something to satisfy every palate. If you're looking for a memorable dining experience, I highly recommend checking out Anajak Thai. You won't be disappointed! Shout out to our server Wasi who made our experience enjoyable.

I’ve been waiting to go to this restaurant for a longggg time especially with all the great reviews it gets. It’s changed over the years as they used to do take out and now they don’t. I believe they used to also do walk ins but now it’s rare. I was driving by on a Friday night and stopped to see if they had in walk ins. They said they were fully booked and typically booked a month or two out. The guy at the front offered us a reservation for the next night tho so thank you!! We came back the next night at 8:15 pm. Parked in a public lot down the street. Parking is tough in this area but not impossible. It was pretty cold out and the front stand didn’t have its heater on but we were sat within maybe 10 mins or so. We were a little early. Sooo glad the tables outside had a blanket. Although it was only one lol. I was hoping for inside but didn’t specifically ask for it. The alleyway has plastic foldable chairs and is narrow but not unpleasant. The heater and blankets helped a bit but I was still cold. I knew this place was known for their wine menu but WOWWWW it was soooo extensive. Decently pricey and most are sold by the bottle. My bf and I got two wines by the glass. The wine guy or sommelier didn’t come to our table which was unfortunate (I saw him go to most of the other ones). We weren’t crazy hungry but I will come much hungrier next time and with a group. We got the Southern Thai Fried Chicken and Pad Gaprao Beef & Fried Egg. Both were DELICIOUS! so good that I’m committed to learning how to make the pad gaprao at home. The sauces that came with the fried chicken were soooo yummy and the chicken was so perfectly crispy. I will be back to order many many things. (and hopefully order a bottle of wine with a good recommendation)

We’ve been wanting to try this place for quite some time and we HAPPENED to be in the area on Thai Taco Tuesday- yay! On Tuesdays, there are no reservations, just a line you wait in to order, receive a number and proceed to their outdoor (alleyway) seating which consisted of fold out tables and chairs with plastic utensils and paper plates. SOME LA ISH! Be prepared to order all of your food when It’s your turn as you have to get back in line if you want anything more. THE FOOD was delicious and so flavorful, but the portions are quite small, so be prepared to order accordingly. We had the fish tacos which was cooked perfectly, Crispy skin, bold flavors. They are street taco size, but it is a healthy portion of fish. My 2nd favorite was the Thai sausage tostada, it was thinly sliced sausage (a little spicy) on a bed of fresh herbs (tangy and fresh)! Spectacular, give me 14 of them! 🤤 Overall, the food is the star of the show, no others frills included, but we left hungry and went next door to chipotle. 🥲

We kept seeing rave reviews for this spot so I finally decided to give it a shot and overall I was very pleased despite a long wait (we reserved a table too). Our server was apologetic and we were given a radish and cucumber salad on the house which we appreciated. The interior was great and we loved the music. As for the food, the standouts were definitely the grilled sea bream, pad thai, and the panang curry. We absolutely enjoyed everything we ordered, but with the steep price, it’s certainly a once-in-a-while experience.

Great authentic Thai food. The crispy chicken was beyond my expectation; super crispy outside and soft tender inside. All other dishes are fine authentic Thai style. Service was not great, and I believe that is due to that fact that this restaurant is one of the most famous ones in LA (Best rated by Opentable). All servers are super busy, and it would be great to expand the restaurant since it's super hard to make reservation with such popularity. Atmosphere was good with lively (somewhat noisy). Plenty of wine selection is available to pair with variety menu. This is a cozy place, and not a high-end atmosphere restaurant.

Snag a table at Anajak Thai (good luck!) and enter a chic Bangkok escape. With pops of vibrant Thai art and an oddly fitting Kobe Bryant jersey it is upscale without being stuffy, a place where you can rock a dress or nice jeans. The menu is a beautiful tapestry of regional Thai specialties, with dishes ranging in all sizes, like a choose-your-own-adventure. Started with the kampachi crudo - silky-smooth slices of amberjack bathed in a citrusy lime and chili marinade, a perfect way to wake up the palate. The papaya salad was a tiny bowl of spiciness and a delicious punch. The laab tot were little flavor bombs bursting with savory spices and the crispy garden rolls were a nice textural contrast to the other dishes. Now, onto the big guys. The southern thai fried chicken was everything you want in fried chicken – juicy, flavorful, and a shatteringly golden crust. Each piece was a testament to the art of poultry preparation. The black sea bream, while beautifully cooked and undeniably tasty, had a spice level more of a gentle whisper than a roar. It lacked the fiery kick I longed for. Think “spa day” for your tastebuds instead of “fireworks.” The massaman brisket was a slow-cooked masterpiece. Tender, melt-in-your-mouth brisket bathed in a rich, complex curry sauce. I made a valiant effort to try the drunken noodles, but truth be told, they paled in comparison to the other dishes. The noodles themselves were a bit mushy, and the overall flavor profile fell short. Skip this one and focus on the stars of the show. For dessert the mango sticky rice is a must-do. A sweet ending to a truly delicious adventure. Service is great – attentive without being intrusive. Just be prepared to fight for a reservation – this place is popular for a reason! It's a bit of a "worth the hype, but maybe not entirely" situation, but you won't want to miss out on the buzz.

We went on a Sunday night and it wasn’t hard to find a parking. The waiter is attentive and friendly. Vibe is great for friend gathering but it’s a bit noisy. Fried chicken is really yummy! Grilled sea bream and Pad Siew with shrimps are also tasty. Papaya salad is very spicy if you are not used to hot flavor..

We had high hopes for Anajak Thai after hearing so much buzz and seeing it hyped all over social media. It’s been on our list for a while and was tough to get a reservation, so expectations were definitely elevated. Overall, it wasn’t a bad meal by any means—but it did feel overhyped for the experience and price point. There were some real standouts: the Southern Thai fried chicken, Dungeness crab fried rice, kampachi crudo, and grilled branzino were all delicious and memorable. These dishes showed the creativity and skill that made us excited to come in the first place. Unfortunately, several other items missed the mark. The pad see ew was very mediocre and forgettable. The papaya salad was so spicy it was genuinely inedible for us (and we’re not spice-averse). The biggest disappointment was the grilled cabbage—it tasted like butane, and at $28 for roughly a quarter of a head of cabbage, it felt wildly overpriced. Service was a highlight: the server assistants were warm, attentive, and on top of everything, which we really appreciated. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful, but we were seated outside. While the patio was cute with the heathers, it felt a bit underwhelming—plastic tables and chairs didn’t quite match the upscale pricing or the restaurant’s reputation. A few other notes: -No beer or liquor available, only wine -Portions are on the smaller side, especially considering the prices In the end, we enjoyed parts of the meal and are glad we tried it, but it didn’t quite live up to the hype or the difficulty of getting in. Worth a visit for certain dishes—but go in with realistic expectations. Would I come back? Yes. First choice of places to go for Thai? No.

Great dinner with my mom. We ordered the pork ribs with pineapple glaze, scallops, sizzling steak and the bok choy. It was a low carb night for us. It was really good! Only issue is that it took a while for us to get the veggies as they were not served the entrees. The restaurant was beautifully renovated and feels bigger but still has the same vibe as before. It’s still loud inside but less so compared to before. You can easily find street parking.

A delicious evening with some great friends. The restaurant was busy on this Saturday night but the hospitality and service was exceptional. The restaurant manager and Sommelier came by for greetings and to talk about their extensive wine list. The food was all cooked to perfection. Each entree came out steady. We sat outside on the side of the alley under large heaters and jamming 2000s hip hop music. Seating was filled inside and out. The atmosphere was loud in the restaurant. There was also a line of people waiting on the sidewalk. We had made prior reservations. It was a good first experience. I just wished the portions were bigger for the price. Reservations are recommended. There's street parking. Some are metered. Free residence parking is on and around Dickens St.

I came in here with high expectations and unfortunately they were just not met. But let me say one thing at the beginning, the service was flawless. The servers, the sommelier and the bussers were beyond excellent. The fried chicken: not very hot (temp wise) and waaaaay under seasoned. I hate anything too salty, but it felt like the meat was never introduced to any salt or pepper. Such a massive disappointment. So bummed. The spot prawns were also underwhelming. No seasoning and basically just tasted like boiled crustaceans. The ribs...the sauce was good but, you guessed it, the meat was so bland. These aren't "fall off the bone" tender either. They were the last dish to show up and they were anything but a saving grace. The pad siew was fine. The chicken was rubbery and bland. The best dishes to me were the sea bream and the crab fried rice, but only because they tasted like dishes I've had at really good Thai restaurants, not because they were elevated or nuanced to be some culinary standout. The meatball and crudo were fine. Forgettable but not bad.

Bring ear plugs. Thai restaurant who wants to be a night club. My local Thai place for $12 is so much better. Huge plates with a little bit of food. I get it. They got some awards.. people are flocking... don't let the hype sway you. The service is great but I can pour my own water. Lack luster as my mom would say. They are pushing that food out so fast to turn the tables. Meals are photo ready but not mouth ready. Curry was great. They put it on a plate. Need a spatula to get that sauce.

Wasn’t great - food was very overpriced for the portions - regardless of product quality. Shrimp was very bland and $25 for one. Wine list is great but service was extremely chaotic with dishes going to wrong tables etc. I’ve eaten at three stars and off a paper plate road side in Thailand. Just because it’s full doesn’t mean it’s a flawless dining experience. Kiln, London is what they should be aiming for, not the Hollywood walk of fame.

Had higher hopes for the restaurant. Food was good but took far too long for us and other people around us. Too many seats and I think the quality of the dishes suffer as a result. Expected better quality given the price and prestige of the restaurant.

Went for Thai taco Tuesday. Got in line around 5:30 pm and there were already 6 or 7 parties ahead of us. It moved decently fast once they opened at 6:15, and we were able to order around 6:30 pm. The food came out pretty quickly once we sat down in the outdoor-only seating area. It was an interesting experience paying almost $100 per person to sit at a worn-out wooden table on plastic stools like you'd find in 3rd world country street food stands, using paper plates and disposable utensils. Food wise, everything was tasty and unique, but I wouldn't come again to pay this much for it. My wife especially liked the dry aged fish tacos, and we both thought the fried chicken was really juicy and flavorful (except for one piece that was really dry). The papaya salad came out first and was a good palate cleanser, so I'd recommend saving it to eat between other bites. I didn't particularly enjoy any of the raw fish tostadas. The fish was good quality, but putting it on tostadas was a waste in my opinion - you don't really appreciate the flavor of the fish or uni. My wife thought the laab meatballs were a tad dry, and she wasn't a fan of the heavy lemongrass flavor, but I enjoyed them. Spicy drunken noodles were not as spicy as I would've imagined or liked, but it was nice to add some of their Thai chili juice+peppers that came with other dishes. Mango sticky rice was to go-only, and the mango was great. The sticky rice was a bit harder than I liked, but maybe that's how it's supposed to be? I'm no sticky rice expert. My wife gives this place a solid 4/5 stars, but we wouldn't come back because it's so pricey and the line is so long. Hot tip: bring your own water/wine/drinks since you sit outside and they only have bottled water and wine for purchase.

So we finally made it to eat at this popular neighborhood place. We were 6 people sitting outside in the patio. So first thing : the music was extremely loud and somewhat not tasteful for a high end $$ place . We mentioned it to our server and she said : I will see what I can do , others have complained tonight too, then she came back a few minutes later saying : they told me WE CANNOT do Anything about the music! So that was that !! We ordered : couple appetizers such as curdo of hiramassa, cucumber salad , cabbage & egg rolls- they all came right after each other shortly after we ordered. For our main course we had drunken noodles ,Pad Thai with shrimp and tofu Panang curry , braised beef , steak and branzino… Every dish was tastefully made and small portions - white rice 🍚 literally 5/6 bites - super small Our appetizers came on time but main course dishes would arrive One at a time - so imagine for 6 people being served one small dish Every 10/15 minutes!!!!! After dinner we asked to see the dessert menu & to our surprise 😦 NO dessert!!! I think they really want you In & Out quickly so they can turn around and give your table to new people. So over all : Was it worth the hype ? Well that’s a hard Maybe . Will we return : we might go back to try few other dishes that we didn’t get to try . Is this place too hyped up ? I would say so!!!! If management care to read this review: Please RESPECT and At least ACT like u care for your guests !!!! When more than a handful let you know kindly that your MUSIC is too loud for a nice dining experience, Maybe just Maybe your Music is Too loud and you should do something about it! The point here is you should strive to make this a good experience for your guests Not be arrogant & keep doing things the way U like- … You owe your business to the people whom support you and keep coming back~ unless you just don’t care if they come back !! Be humble , make your guest feel good.

Unfortunately, this is one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. We had heard wonderful things and saw it can be difficult to get a reservation, so we made sure to book early for a nice birthday dinner. The food presentation was beautiful but the flavors turned out to be quite bland. For $100+ per person, the lack of flavor was inexcusable. Our server especially ruined the experience. As soon as we ordered our mains, he prompted us to add the mango sticky rice to our order. We declined and thought it was strange that there was any mention of dessert so early. As our mains were served, he prompted us again to add the mango sticky rice. We declined again, and he cautioned it takes quite a while to prepare the mango sticky rice so we should order it sooner rather than later if we're interested. We gave him the benefit of the doubt that perhaps their mango sticky rice was particularly unique or their signature interpretation and he didn't want us to miss out, so we flagged him down and added the mango sticky rice. The mango sticky rice came out immediately, and was simply ordinary if not subpar. The most offensive part of the dining experience was our server placing the bill on our table as we took our first bite of the mango sticky rice. We realized then he had been trying to rush us out since we sat down so he could turn over the table. However, the serving assistants were quite attentive and helpful, surprisingly much more so than our primary server. They were the silver lining of this experience.

I’ve lived down the street for years and even went to Anajak before the remodel. While the food is definitely better than before, the overall experience wasn’t worth the month-long reservation wait. When we arrived, we only waited a couple of minutes for our name to be called—totally fine. At first, based on the hostess’s direction, we thought we’d be seated outside, but she brought us inside and we were excited. Then she kept walking—past two empty two-top tables—and seated us in the corner at a tiny bar top attached to the window overlooking the outside diners. Awkward. We asked if we could sit at one of the two-tops and were told they were saved for “handicap accessible.” Weird, but okay. Moments later, two visibly able guests filled those exact tables. Ordering was also odd. Two servers are supposed to take care of you, but by the end it felt like none. We had to order everything at once, so we went for the fried chicken, cabbage, BBQ pork ribs, and shrimp pad thai. The fried chicken came out immediately. It was tasty, but honestly lacked seasoning. Everyone raves about the sauces, but the sweet chili tasted like the Kroger brand I buy at Ralphs. I actually preferred the chicken plain. Next came the ribs—delicious—but sharing dishes at a small bar top attached to a window was far from ideal. The plates sat empty for a while as the small space got louder and louder, making conversation tough. After a long wait, our server finally let us know the rest of our order was unexpectedly delayed. Eventually, the cabbage and shrimp pad thai arrived. The pad thai was incredible (I was surprised for $28 that it only came with 4 shrimp. They were so delicious, I wish they served more). The cabbage looked great, but one bite and my throat was on fire. I can handle spice, but this was next level and there was no warning. Overall, the food was a 9, but the vibe and experience were a 5. Definitely not worth the high price, the impossible reservation process, or waiting a month for a table.

Snagged a last-minute reservation at Anajak Thai. We ordered the brisket curry, southern Thai fried chicken, and noodles supreme. Paired it with a nice Chianti. Overall, I was a little disappointed. Nothing was bad, but everything was bland. That's not usually a word I'd use when talking about Thai food. The fried chicken was perfectly cooked, juicy, and tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. It's almost no seasoning, though. Wish it had a little spice to it. The brisket curry was really peanut-y and sweet with zero heat or spice in it. The brisket itself was dry, and the texture was more of a short rib than brisket. The noodle supreme was ok, nothing was bad, but it's the same pad see ew you can get at any Thai spot. For the price and hype, I probably wouldn't go back.

My friend and I were really excited to try this place since it has been raved about. It think I wanted more from it then what was presented. We get sat outside, which honestly, they need to put more effort and design into it. It was folding tables and chairs with and a table cloth on it on the side of their building. They did have heaters though which I was happy about since it was a pretty cold night. We get the pork ribs(just ok), their Thai style fried chicken(really nothing special), short rib curry( this was actually really good) and the crab fried rice( this was pretty good.) I got a chance to go inside( to use the bathroom) it was cute inside! I think I might have had a better experience inside.

I had heard a lot of amazing things about this restaurant, so I was elated when I got my first reservation back in June. My first visit was as a party of two, and we enthusiastically ordered 2-3 appetizers and mains, plus noodles and rice. We also ordered a very nice bottle of wine because we wanted the full experience. From the start, we felt very rushed to order, despite asking for more time. On the plus side, the food came out quickly and was delicious. However, we had not even gotten halfway through before our plates were cleared to make room for more food. Once again, the mains that arrived were amazing. Could not say better things about the Panang and Brisket curries. In terms of timing, we had the same experience - had about half of it cleared away due to timing. We were probably in and out in a little over an hour. I do understand that schedules have to be maintained in order to keep other reservations on track, but it wasn’t the best experience to have to chug our very expensive bottle of wine and take bags of food home. Flash forward to my second reservation yesterday, this time with a party of four. I won’t belabor the point with every detail, but the overall experience was the same (same server as the last time as well). I would assume that this is just the vibe of the place, but there was another party of four sitting next to us, who arrived at the same time and did not receive the same treatment. They had time to sit and chat, enjoy their wine and eat at a leisurely pace. We were walking out the door after having ordered about 8 courses and they were barely eating their appetizers. Maybe I keep going wrong by ordering too much food, thereby putting too much pressure on the kitchen to quickly turn things around. All of this said, the food was great which at the end of the day is what is most important. I just wanted to provide honest feedback because experience is a key contributor to overall enjoyment. Bon Appetit!

I used to come here every week for taco Tuesday, but recently it has been tasting a little uninspiring. I love coming here because the food is delicious and tasted like passion, but now I feel like I could go get a better meal at another Thai spot, for a better price. I hope the spark comes back because I truly do love coming here 🥲

Elevated pricing but not particularly elevated or special Thai food. Overall it was decent, not great. The fried chicken, which on the night we went, basically every table in the restaurant ordered, was dry and a tad bland. It came with five large pieces of fried chicken but only a small dollop of sticky rice. The scallops with ginger lemongrass nam jim were pretty refreshing but they were the portion size of amuse bouche. The tom yum with yellowtail collar tasted like most tom yum I've ever had. The crab fried rice was pretty good. It was loaded with crab, almost too much. Also we wanted dessert but the dessert chef wasn't there until the second sitting so no dessert for us. Can't even plate some mangos with sticky rice without the dessert chef's supervision apparently.

I have been wanting to go to Anajak Thai for so long but unfortunately, the food is mediocre and overpriced. The fried chicken was the best thing we had but was still not even close to the best Asian-style fried chicken I’ve had in LA. This place feels like gentrified Thai food. Also, it was so loud that my friend and I were screaming to try and talk to each other. In the middle of the dinner they start blasting rap music suddenly from the speakers, making it even more difficult to hear anything or enjoy the meal. The highlight was the impeccable service. Great, friendly, and attentive staff. Overall, I don’t feel the need to come back to this restaurant now that I’ve tried it.

The service was genuinely good, with attentive staff promptly replacing our plates for each new dish. We chose to sit outside, but the outdoor seating had its drawbacks. The tables were set up in an alley with a slight dip, making them slightly slanted, and there were quite a few flies around. As for the food, unfortunately, it didn't quite impress. The dishes were somewhat underwhelming, and the serving sizes were on the smaller side. There wasn't anything particularly remarkable that I could confidently recommend.

This is a high priced Thai restaurant ($100+ a person) and has great presentation, but overall is lacking in value. The food was all good, however, it is Thai “light” and everything is missing the depth of flavor that you find with really authentic Thai food that you can find in multiple inexpensive restaurants in Thai Town. Food is the most important part of eating out. The papaya salad was the most disappointing and the sauce on the hamachi the most delicious. The bream was good with great crispy skin, but again had no Thai punch behind the sauce. The cabbage with chutney I liked, but again I need to be wowed if I’m paying $30 for cabbage. I did not leave feeling full even though we also ordered fried rice, scallops and mango sticky rice. I was not even wowed enough to take photos of everything. The portions are very small. The decor is sub par and feels more like a basic casual restaurant and I certainly would not have been happy seated in the alley way with folding table and chairs. The wine from Czechia was wonderful. The worst part of the dinner was the noise level. Playing loud music in a small space forcing everyone to talk above it made it impossible to carry on a conversation and I couldn’t wait to be done with dinner. If you are charging high end prices you need to deliver an experience that matches which doesn’t include blasting music. It’s also surprising they are only open for dinner when they are not a high end dinner place. So the end result was good food across the board but a lot of negatives. It’s a good reasonably priced cafe minus the reasonable prices. The only thing high end is the price and the plating.

I would say that it is good comparing for Thai foods in Los Angeles because there’s not much nice Thai food here. Their Thai Ice tea is the best ! People being recommended Southern Fried Chicken with sticky rice, I would say it is the best you can find here but comparing to the authentic one, it’s just average. I would say it’s just a regular fried chicken with sticky rice. The sauce can be made or brought in Asian supermarket. Pervian Scallop is recommended ! The sauce is basically Thai seafood but it is very well made by the Chef. As a Thai, we say that if the seafood is good or not, it’s all depends on the seafood sauce. Disappointed at sizzlin’ steak, the presentation is bad. No sauce coming with it. Feel like come straight out of supermarket steak and put it on the grill.

The food, when it finally appeared after about 40 minutes, was quite good — so good it almost made me forget how long I’d been waiting. The staff seemed as surprised as we were when the dishes eventually showed up, which added a bit of mystery to the evening. Definitely a great spot if you enjoy suspense with your dinner.

The foods are good and the service is nice, but it takes us FOREVER to wait for the food. We waited for 30 min for a mango sticky rice, which is after we waited 10min for EACH of the dish to came out. We ordered 5 dishes for three ppl and spent the majority of the time waiting instead of enjoying our food. Added: we asked how long do we need to wait for it and informed the server that we have plans afterwards, if it is not with in 10 min, we want to take it off the order, and then 20min passed without anything. We called the server and was told it’s gonna be more than 20min. We were literally told wrong information. And we had to cancel our plans afterwards. Such a great way to enjoy Halloween 😅

We were here for the Chase Omakase event, and while it was certainly "nice", I think the better term to describe it would be closer to "highway robbery". It was $250 a person, AND they want hit you with an additional $100-$150 for a wine pairing. I'm sure that this might be worth it to some sommelies and "wine connoisseurs" , but if you're starting at $250 a head, you'd expect at least SOMETHING. Come on, Chase, at least throw in some complimentary Two-Buck Chucks or a box of Kirkland's finest. What sucks is that Chase knows how to do this right. Their other events have been fantasic. The Loreto x Majordomo event, for example, was eons better. More food, better food, and the cocktails and wine were actually included. The whole thing just felt more special, AND it was $100 less. Look, I'm not a 'fine dining' connoisseur, but I can absolutely appreciate a great food program. That said, let's be real: this was Thai food. It's not supposed to be fancy, and it's ingredients aren't that fancy. And no matter how "elevated" you make it, nine courses of dishes the size of a Post-it note is just not $250 good. If you're a real Thai food fine dining fanatic, or maybe you like their premium wine program (credit where credit is due), then maybe it's worth a visit. Otherwise, it's not worth it. Go pick up some Pad See Ew and Massaman at your local Thai family restaurant instead, your conscious & your wallet will thank you. PS: no mango sticky rice for dessert was CRIMINAL

LA Times, are y'all awake? I need a checklist of WHY this is the 2022 Restaurant of the Year. I just don't understand where the rave reviews are coming from. First let's start with the atmosphere, decor is nice and lots of wine bottles on the walls/table.... the only problem is I don't think they have AC cause I was DRIPPING sweat in there, TMI but even my family jewels were struggling to survive. I mean I guess it's nice if want that humid Asia vibe, makes me feel like I'm back at my childhood home. Pretty sure the ventilation is not top tier either because you can see the smoke that seeped through the dining area, felt like I was looking at LA smog. Okay, let me talk about cuisine now: We got 3 out 4 things we ordered. - Southern/Thai Fried Chicken: portion is an outstanding 5 pieces with 2 types of sauces. Even comes with a bit of sticky rice with shaved crispy garlic on top. But overall, the sauces saved the dish. I rate it 7/10 - BBQ Pork Collar: decent but not worth $28, portion is for someone who already ate before coming there. The shredded purple cabbage with that sauce is a good touch. I rate it: 6.5/10 - Noodles Supreme: dry and bland, I would let the texture pass but come on, the flavor has to compensate which it did not. I rate it: 3/10 - To what was supposed to be Mango Sticky Rice but they apparently "ran out". Can't rate this one. With that being said, let me include my photos of the food (at least aesthetic isn't shabby). Giving this another star only because our server was nicer. Oh mind you, the place opens at 4:00pm, we have reservations at 4:00pm (even got there a few minutes early). We were the 2nd party inside the restaurant and you're telling me that you "ran out" of mango sticky rice an hour and 15 mins later when I already ordered it the moment I was seated? Get outta here.... Disappointed and still hungry.

Had a very unfortunate experience during my meal yesterday at Anajak. Had extremely high expectations going in, and was left feeling disappointed - not due to the service, or even most cases of the food, but the handling of a bug in our food. In our Drunken Noodle dish, we found a decently sized bug (2cm x 1cm) in our dish, likely mixed in with some of the vegetables used, and promptly reported it to our server who helped to bring it back to the kitchen. Our server kindly asked whether we'd like it remade or offered an alternative, to which we asked to have a look at the menu & that we'd maybe choose dessert for what we replaced instead. We later asked to add mango sticky rice (2x) to the order. What was disappointing was that on the bill, only the Drunken Noodle was comped - with no other mention of anything else despite the bug in our food. I asked if that was the best that could be done, to which they removed the next lowest-priced item on the dish (a tostada). Overall, it left us feeling as if we'd been pretty "cheaped out" by the situation and that they were relatively unapologetic for the bug in the food that ruined a dish and soured the experience. Was surprised that they didn't just immediately comp the dessert (~$19 each mango sticky rice), without asking, which seemed to be the idea based on the dialogue after we notified of the bug. Instead, it took an extra round of us asking, for an even cheaper dish to be comp'd. Otherwise, the food was good (not exceptional) and we appreciated the hospitality of our server (Manny), and are undersatnding of how busy he must have been through the night, so thank you Manny. However, this experience in handling what feels like a reasonable "customer complaint" was more than enough to sour the experience. Hope that you experience better.

I am not sure how they handout Michelin Stars these days. But I was under an impression that when you go to a restaurant with the star. You should have the most exquisite experience. Well we didn't. First of all, it wasn't Thai cuisine. Steak, fried chicken, etc. The only thing Michelin about this place was the prices. And certainly not worth the two weeks reservation period. I guess it must be a place to be seen, to render such a demand. We actually ended up going to an old Italian restaurant afterwards and had a lovely dinner. The waitress was charming and attentive. Unlike, the team at the "Michelin" who at times stumbled over one another. Right away, the restaurant does not have a full bar, but a very overpriced wine list.

The food was pretty good but the service was a shambles. For starters we were made to stand on the sidewalk and wait 25 minutes past our reservation time for our table. From there, dishes arrived at random intervals, with one person getting their entrée while the rest of us waited 20 minutes for ours. Even then they didn’t arrive together. The servers were super apologetic to be fair, but these are basic things every other restaurant seems to get right. Honestly, it was a shame. On the plus side the vibes inside were great.

The least inspired $200 meal I’ve ever had it lacked any standout dishes. For a “Taco Tuesday” with limited taco options, it was disappointing. The “backyard feel” paper plates, wrapped plastic utensils, and uncomfortable slanted chairs added to the unpleasant experience. I can’t recommend this to anyone who values taste. It seems the chef forgot how they gained recognition and focused solely on profit. The $10 bottle of Aqua Panna was the only water option (possibly illegal).

I really wanted to like this place, but they seated us outside. In an alley. On folding plastic tables with folding plastic chairs. For a birthday dinner. And then charged my wife and me $230 for a very average Thai dinner for two ($275 with tip, because I worked in the service industry and even if I don’t love the meal, I’m not an animal). Maybe I’d feel differently if we experienced the inside dining room, but if you’re charging these prices, you cannot reasonably expect people to sit in a cold alley in January on plastic furniture. Yes, there are heaters, but at this price point I’m paying for a restaurant experience, not a food truck one. The outdoor ambiance is completely unacceptable for what they charge. If they insist on seating people outside like this, there should be a separate patio menu with significantly reduced prices, because the food alone does not justify the cost. It’s only slightly above average, and without the full dining experience it feels even more devalued. We ordered the crudo, which was solid but tiny. Five slim pieces for two people, and the sauce was a bit over-salted for my taste. The Kratong Tong pastry cups were also solid but very small, four bite sized pieces total. The Southern fried chicken was just good fried chicken, nothing unique enough to warrant $40 for mostly skin and bone with very little meat. Honestly, Gus’s Fried Chicken is better, and you can get half a chicken with sides for half the price. The pineapple glazed pork ribs were the food highlight for me, though again, only four small pieces total. Unfortunately, they arrived shortly after the chicken and got cold as we tried to juggle multiple hot dishes outside. The restaurant courses for you, meaning dishes arrive when they decide, not necessarily in a logical progression. An appetizer can come after a main, which disrupts the flow of what should be a well considered dining experience. We thought this would be enough food, but we were still hungry, so we added the Dungeness crab fried rice. It was decent, but once again over-salted. With all the incredible Thai flavors available, it was surprising that salt was the dominant note across multiple dishes. We started with a glass of rosé brut for birthday bubbles, then spoke with the sommelier, who was genuinely fantastic and the best part of service for the night. The wine list is great and extensive. My wife had a skin contact Muscat on his recommendation, and I had an Etna Rosso. I wouldn’t normally expect a red wine pairing with Thai food, but his explanation made sense and it worked beautifully. A pleasant surprise - which I always love at a dinner. There was no dessert offered, which felt very on brand by that point. Another missing piece of what should be a complete restaurant experience, especially at these prices. (As a side note, I love when a restaurant asks if you’re celebrating something, you say “Yes, a birthday,” and their service response is basically, “Cool. Nobody cares.” Nothing comped, nothing celebratory, nothing special done to note the event...nothing even mentioned by the staff. Why ask if it doesn’t matter or affect anything?) They have a friendly staff, solid music, an excellent wine list and sommelier, and the pineapple glazed pork ribs. Beyond that, I can’t recommend this experience at its current price point. We live in LA and have countless better options. If I’m eating Thai food in an alley, there are plenty of places where I can pay a fraction of the price and leave very satisfied. This just ain't it. For nearly $300, I’d much rather go to Saffy’s, République, Majordomo, Dunsmoor, or Gwen, places where the food and the experience are both elevated. Unfortunately, this lackluster birthday experience just felt like being ripped off.

I find unacceptable that my card charged $50 for a reservation that was canceled. I called you several times to cancel a reservation. Nobody was ever picking up the phone and I was unable to leave a message, yet I went above and beyond to make sure that the reservation was canceled before 24 hours spending endless hours IP hold . Yet you charged my card anyway … pretty scandalous

E

A last-minute cancellation is frustrating. Being met with attitude and raised voices from restaurant management is unacceptable. Our reservation, booked three weeks in advance and confirmed again 48 hours ago, was canceled last minute due to rain. At no point, on the website, at the time of booking, or during confirmation, was there any indication that rain could result in a cancellation. It is also worth noting that it had already been raining days prior, yet this concern was never raised. What made this situation unacceptable was the response we received when my husband called. Both the reservationist and the General Manager were dismissive and gave him attitude. When he calmly pointed out that rain-related cancellations were never disclosed, instead of acknowledging the oversight or apologizing, the General Manager raised her voice and became defensive. A simple response, “That’s a great suggestion, we apologize for the inconvenience”, would have gone a long way. Even a gesture of goodwill for a future visit might have helped. Instead, we were met with hostility. This was not a casual dinner. This was a special event, and we made multiple accommodations to make the evening work. Having it canceled at the last minute is frustrating enough; being treated poorly on top of it is inexcusable. Hospitality is not just about food, it’s about how diners are treated when things don’t go perfectly. Unfortunately, the people representing this restaurant failed on that front. We will not be returning, and I strongly suggest the owner take a serious look at who is acting as the face of the restaurant and how they handle guests.

Very disappointing experience. The food was very average and definitely not worth the wait. It took forever to get our order, and even though we ordered everything together, they brought each dish out separately — about 30 minutes apart. On top of that, the loud rap music made it hard to enjoy the meal. Would not recommend.

I’ve never experienced such dismal, disrespectful, and crude customer service than here, which is a shame because this has been a place I’ve been wanting to try for years. Our reservation was cancelled 4 hours before service “due to the rain.” There has been rain in the forecast for 2 weeks. I’m surprised the restaurant didn’t make accommodations to tent the outdoor space during the holidays. But I’m more surprised by the blatant disrespect of the manager and employees who called to cancel our reservation. They had no intention of remedying the situation or offer to get us in, or even apologize. What a shame. One would think a James Beard Award would take into account customer service and satisfaction. Perhaps that’s only for Michelin Star restaurants or tried and true Mom and Pop joints.

After the restaurant canceled my reservation due to inclement weather—simply because I'd selected outdoor seating as a "preference" (mind you, it was just a preference, not a requirement, meaning it was my top choice but still flexible)—and after I'd expressed how excited I was about a booking I'd made months ago, the host was anything but accommodating, helpful, or even apologetic. Instead of trying to find a way to seat me indoors or at least expressing regret for the short notice, they flatly dismissed my polite request. To top it off, the host actually corrected me, making sure I knew that—despite my excitement—I'd only made the reservation one month ago, not 1.5 months ago. If this is any indication of the service and how they treat guests, I can't imagine what dining there would be like, and I'm definitely not willing to give it a chance. Pathetic.

Did not live up to the hype. Should’ve known this place is sus when I saw most of the kitchen staff were white dudes cooking thai food. Their “best dish” the fried chicken was more bland than KFC and the sauces that came with it were standard thai chili sauce you can get from the supermarket. And the outdoor seating was just tablecloth on top of a black plastic table and black plastic chairs, so begs the question if the food is not good and there’s no ambience what am I paying this high price for?? The only saving grace is the service is great and the waiters are really attentive.

My wife and I made a reservation three weeks out for tonight for a special dinner with her father and our friend from out of town. We even hired a babysitter and made accommodations for people to stay near the restaurant. We just received a call four hours before the reservation telling us that they are at capacity and need to cancel our reservation because it’s drizzling outside… I have been here once before and it was good but I will never be going back because the man who called me was rude, cold, not apologetic, and completely unprofessional. Truly unfortunate. UPDATE: I spoke to the manager and she was so incredibly disrespectful and unprofessional. I merely wanted to point out that I received a confirmation phone call 48 hours ago and that at no time was it mentioned that due to weather conditions there is a potential that the reservation could be canceled. Her response was “sir, I don’t make those calls…”. I’m aware… not once was there an apology… not once was their accountability for their lack of foresight… just excuses and displacing blame. And when I said that fine dining establishments like this should have a plan for weather, her response was “we are not fine dining”… you know what… I couldn’t say it any better. You are not fine dining… you are good food with poor management and inadequate customer service.

Overrated !!! Extremely slow service of food !!! U paying 60 $ for a branzino which is served cold. Cutlery was dirty ! The noodles were basic and very small portion. Appetizers also came out slow . Many other better thai restaurants at reasonable prices! Absolutely not worth the prices being charged and zero flavor!!!!

Horrible experience overall. We made a reservation for 8:15 with an indoor seating preference. We arrived at around 8, and were asked to wait for 10~15 minutes, which we were fine with (of course). But after waiting for over 20 minutes with no explanation, we checked back with the hostess and were told to just continue waiting for another 15 minutes because their reservations were backlogged. That's not my problem; they shouldn't have overbooked their tables. On top of that, they did not show any signs of remorse or anything like that, as if it was expected of us to wait 20 minutes past our reservation time. While we were waiting, some folks finished dining and started speaking to the hostess. After they raved about 'how good the food was,' the hostess responded by saying, 'just shoot me a text and we'll save a spot whenever.' Perhaps this place is only for those with connections to the owners When they finally seated us at 8:35, we were given an outdoor seat close to the entrance when we specifically requested an indoor seat. The outdoor had some heating, but it went off during our dine-in, so we were left out in the cold until they were able to get it back working. Now, if the food was actually good and had good value, maybe the situation could've been salvaged, but nope. Overpriced, not authentic, bland, nothing special about any of the dishes (we got the pork meatballs, fried chicken, panang curry, and tom yum). Plus, we had to wait around 30 minutes to get our first dish (the pork meatball appetizer) after ordering. The table next to us (a larger group, probably spending more dollars than our group of 2) got the same dish before we did, even though they came in and ordered much later than we did. And lastly, they took our leftover fried chicken while we were still working on it, so I asked them to box it up, but they never gave it to us. What? Anyways, overhyped joint with overpriced but average food and horrible service. It ruined our night. Never again.
