We are trying to find good places to eat after moving from Austin to Nixon. Tonight we took a drive and found ourselves in Shiner. Besides being a beautiful town we found ourselves at Mary’s and what a fantastic find. Food was excellent, service was excellent, staff very nice, restaurant very clean as well as the bathrooms! We will be back for sure!

For a small town mexican food restaurant, this place is awesome! Great food, good prices, and friendly staff. Mary goes out of her way to make sure you're satisfied! She started with a breakfast taco place that is still open and has the best breakfast tacos in town!

Food and service here are fantastic!! It’s my fav place to eat in Shiner. I take my friends here from out of town and they love it. Decor is extremely basic but the food and service are excellent. Some of the best enchiladas I’ve ever had. Frozen margaritas are delish.

New place for us, we got a Tejas plate & a carne guisada. Tejas plate is a combo plate, carne guisada, mini taco (street taco) enchilada, beans & rice. It was all delicious! But The mini taco was especially good!! The restaurant was very nice & clean! We will go again! Update 11/12/24 We have now gone here a bunch of times & we continue to have awesome food & great service! The food we had was the Tejas plate, combo fajitas & a chicken enchilada plate, all were perfect!! And 😋 Delicious!

There were 10 of us that dined at Mary's last evening. All of our food was served hot and at the same time. The food was delicious and customer service excellent ( very nice and friendly). The restaurant was very clean.

Breakfast was fantastic! I had tacos and they were great. The coffee was also nice and free refills. Service was also great and very friendly.

Sunday lunch was great here! It’s clearly popular with locals and out-of-towners, young and old. We got seated promptly and immediately got menus and chips. The bar menu had lots of well-priced drinks, and our pina colada and mimosa were good. The food was terrific! We ordered and loved our cheese enchilada and crispy taco plates. There was plenty left to bring home for lunch, too! Our server was friendly and helpful, making sure we had all we needed and were happy with our food and drinks. There’s parking all around the building.

We had the absolute pleasure of trying this place out this morning. Upon arrival we were greeted by Fernanda our server. She was very helpful and also knowledgeable about the menu. I have to say it was quite possibly the best customer service we have both ever had.The portions were huge for the price and the atmosphere is just AWESOME!!!!! Keep up the amazing work!!!! We are looking forward to our next visit. Thank you all for the wonderful food!!!

So, there were some open parking spots in the parking lot. We had our choice of tables to sit at and were promptly greeted for our drink order and provided menus, utensils and chips, and salsa. Tip: If you like spicier salsa, ask for it as they have two other kinds. The four (4) of us decided to split our plates, so we ordered 2 plates of Mary's Plate - which is a Tosada, crispy taco, enchilada, rice, and beans. We did order some tortillas (they are homemade and fresh - yum), and one in our party ordered a Carne Guisada taco - they remarked it was very good and meat was lean. All of the food was good, the service was fantastic and the staff was very attentive. I hope, if you stop by, your experience is as good as ours

Served both a red and green sauces as condiments. Highly recommended.

I had such a great meal here. I ordered Pastor pork with pineapple. That's the best Mexican food I've had in a long time! I was visiting from out of town and recommend this to anyone who is visiting as well.

Food is good. You have to be very careful if you are vegetarian. Even after ordering, the dish might come with meat. But loved their salsa Verde.

Average Mexican food. Salsa is a bit on the watery side. Margarita didn't have that tequila taste I was looking for. Service was great. Clean bathrooms.

Pretty good food. Reasonable prices. Slow service but it was busy. Will be back for more.

I ordered the street tacos and they were really good. I went through drive=thru and they only gave us half our order. But we went back and got the rest and pretty quick.

Pickup trucks taking up 3 THREE parking spaces in a small lot. There's not a lot of parking to begin with. Staff should ask customers to park their trucks correctly so there's room for others to park and eat there. Or keep losing business..

Food was good. Drinks were good. Service sucked at first... Just lack of experience... But was made better because they were nice..

Had high hopes......didn't hit the mark.

Watery salsa. Bland entre. Fly tape covered in flies hanging over the bar. Not much else.

The food never has flavor. I have tried several of the dishes. Everytime the food has no flavor. The waitress only came over to take order and bring food drink and check that's it 4 times.

I ordered the Nachos Supreme 10/18/24 and as you can CLEARLY see, there is NO lettuce OR tomato on this picture I referred to when in came to our table loaded with vegetables. I told the waitress I didn’t want any pico or guacamole on my plate and I didn’t say anything about lettuce or tomato because it wasn’t in the picture on the menu. The service was poor enough, but for the waitress to not offer to make it right, is unacceptable! After it took me about 20 minutes to get the salad off my nachos, I wasn’t even hungry anymore, I was mad, then became nauseous! The best part of this experience was the chips and salsa…seriously!

The service was poor enough, but for the waitress to not offer to make it right, is unacceptable!
