Sunday lunch was great here! It’s clearly popular with locals and out-of-towners, young and old. We got seated promptly and immediately got menus and chips. The bar menu had lots of well-priced drinks, and our pina colada and mimosa were good. The food was terrific! We ordered and loved our cheese enchilada and crispy taco plates. There was plenty left to bring home for lunch, too! Our server was friendly and helpful, making sure we had all we needed and were happy with our food and drinks. There’s parking all around the building.
We had the absolute pleasure of trying this place out this morning. Upon arrival we were greeted by Fernanda our server. She was very helpful and also knowledgeable about the menu. I have to say it was quite possibly the best customer service we have both ever had.The portions were huge for the price and the atmosphere is just AWESOME!!!!! Keep up the amazing work!!!! We are looking forward to our next visit. Thank you all for the wonderful food!!!
We were visiting the Shiner area and decided to check out the locally owned establishments and where the locals eat. Luckily, it was a late lunch. So, there were some open parking spots in the parking lot. We had our choice of tables to sit at and were promptly greeted for our drink order and provided menus, utensils and chips, and salsa. Tip: If you like spicier salsa, ask for it as they have two other kinds. The four (4) of us decided to split our plates, so we ordered 2 plates of Mary's Plate - which is a Tosada, crispy taco, enchilada, rice, and beans. We did order some tortillas (they are homemade and fresh - yum), and one in our party ordered a Carne Guisada taco - they remarked it was very good and meat was lean. All of the food was good, the service was fantastic and the staff was very attentive. I hope, if you stop by, your experience is as good as ours

Traveling through on business and took a chance. It’s always a roll of the dice when traveling and picking a place. Previous reviews drove my decision. Glad I stopped. Ordered the 5 small street tacos lunch special. Portions were huge, perfectly cooked and seasoned. Food was fresh and yummy. Freshly chopped cilantro, onions and sautéed onions. Served both a red and green sauces as condiments. Highly recommended.

Had a breakfast taco and potatoes, my wife had huevous rancherous. Great food and atmosphere. Update 18 February 2024 went here again today. I had the Mixto fajitas, perfect again. My wife had the Huarache, which she enjoyed, as well. If you're in Shiner, you should stop by and give Mary's a try. Great food, good atmosphere, and friendly staff. Update 18 July 2024, I had the Flautas today. Everything we have had here is great.
Very clean and the food was really good. I had the beef fajitas with rice and beans. I loved the rice and the homemade tortillas. So good! Also, my strawberry margarita was excellent.
I had such a great meal here. I ordered Pastor pork with pineapple. That's the best Mexican food I've had in a long time! I was visiting from out of town and recommend this to anyone who is visiting as well.

For a small town mexican food restaurant, this place is awesome! Great food, good prices, and friendly staff. Mary goes out of her way to make sure you're satisfied! She started with a breakfast taco place that is still open and has the best breakfast tacos in town!
Food and service here are fantastic!! It’s my fav place to eat in Shiner. I take my friends here from out of town and they love it. Decor is extremely basic but the food and service are excellent. Some of the best enchiladas I’ve ever had. Frozen margaritas are delish.
"If you're in Shiner and craving authentic Tex-Mex, Mary’s is a must. I had the Carne Guisada lunch plate and it was excellent. The meat was tender and the gravy had that perfect, deep flavor you only find in a family-run kitchen. The real standout, though, was the homemade tortillas. They were fresh, thick, and the perfect pairing for the carne guisada. The restaurant is clean, the staff is incredibly friendly, and the service was fast. This is a solid spot for anyone passing through—I'll definitely be back!"
I ordered the street tacos and they were really good. I went through drive=thru and they only gave us half our order. But we went back and got the rest and pretty quick.

I ordered the Nachos Supreme 10/18/24 and as you can CLEARLY see, there is NO lettuce OR tomato on this picture I referred to when in came to our table loaded with vegetables. I told the waitress I didn’t want any pico or guacamole on my plate and I didn’t say anything about lettuce or tomato because it wasn’t in the picture on the menu. The service was poor enough, but for the waitress to not offer to make it right, is unacceptable! After it took me about 20 minutes to get the salad off my nachos, I wasn’t even hungry anymore, I was mad, then became nauseous! The best part of this experience was the chips and salsa…seriously!

Went to Mary’s on Labor Day in our travel. My husband- a Viet Nam vet- left a special ball cap with his Navy ship on it by mistake. Made several calls to mgr to see if we could pay to have mailed to him. No big deal right? The answer was NO. Really??? So they get a one star - and really don’t deserve that.
