Amazing service, barista Maria is hilarious and friendly, willing to discuss the entire menu with you. I got the iced Cafe de Olla four times in a row, best coffee I have ever had. The homey and welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant makes the experience even more enjoyable. Was able to speak with the founder Andrea, who is also an amazing and kind women.
I tried their Café de Olla Latte with espresso and along with a English Muffin ham and cheese sandwich with Chipotle Mayonnaise. The atmosphere is cozy and took me down memory lane when I saw a antique Singer sewing machine on it's original wooden desk just like my abuelo would use. I can wait to return to try más of their amazing menu.
Walking the Salado creek trail and I stopped in for a bottled water. Came into this beautiful coffee shop its located at Los Patios, also known as a wedding venue next to Northeast Baptist Hospital. great place place to relax inside or on the patio. .the hostess offered me a sample of Jamaica tea, it's delicious. They share a space with Gun Slingers, I'll try that place another day
June 10th, 2023 NEW ADDRESS: 821 E. Quincy St 78215 Update: vegan tacos are offered now on weekends! I have tried and loved the entire menu throughout the years. My fave are tizana tea and rompope latte. Then beet, turmeric cafe de olla socorro and so on. I’m an olla express enthusiast!
An amazing gem of a coffeeshop!! And my new favorite place to have an espresso! I am not exaggerating when I say it is tucked into the forest. It feels like a hill-country retreat with a large fountain and huge oaks and other plants hanging over head. I was walking the dogs on the Salado Creek Greenbelt, and only 10 steps off of the trail, I found the coziest patio in the city. I am so thrilled!
Ollaexpress Cafe in San Antonio is a delightful gem, perfectly tucked away in a serene pocket of downtown, offering an escape from the city's hustle and bustle. As I ventured across the States, this cozy Mexican cafe stood out with its distinctive charm and family-driven passion. The horchata cold brew is an absolute must-try, a testament to their innovative and carefully curated drink menu. While the Cafe de Olla Frida and Micaela were decent, it's their horchata cold brew that will beckon me back. With a blend of indoor and outdoor seating in an eclectic setting, Ollaexpress offers not just a cup, but an experience. Definitely, a bookmark for any San Antonio visit!
Saw this on Instagram and had to try . My husband and I loved it !!!!! My husband had coffee infused with mezcal and I Pan de muerto latte and tascalate/pozol . Everything was so good !!!!! Very different but in a good way !!! The Pan de muerto is so good!!! My husband loved the pineapple empanadas. We will definitely be coming back to try different stuff .
I really love the coffee and the environment it’s a cool spot to do my school work and just to relax My go to is the Apple cinnamon chai latte And go to food is an avocado toast I would definitely recommend Thanks olla for a great time
A hidden gem in San Antonio! I’ve been on a road trip across the States and Ollaexpress is one of the, if not the most unique & cozy Mexican cafe I’ve ever been to. It’s located in the calm side of downtown for those who wants to get away from business of S.A for a slice of heaven. My favorite drink was horchata but their other drinks and coffee are crafted with passion and experience with a touch of great customer service run by a great family vibe! Definitely will be back for those horchata action in the future-
Rosemary coffee was amazing. They were so helpful and kind. The coffee shop is beautiful. Highly recommend this place!
Amazing place! Tried the pumpkin spice latte and pumpkin horchata, highly recommend! Their ham & cheese croissant and oatmeal was also delicious! Will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu 😋
A nice inviting atmosphere with a small, but delicious coffee and eats selections. The chorizo quiche was very tasty and the monjita and cafe de olla lattes really hit the spot. If you are looking for a place to just sit back and enjoy a nice cup of coffee and some treats, this is the place. Enjoy.
Extremely cute and vibey coffee shop! They have a wide variety of lattes and desserts including horchata mazapán iced coffee, mole chocolate latte, and one with chocolate and chile. They happened to have tamales when I went to work on my computer, which were SO delicious, homemade and wrapped in traditional banana leaf. I will say it’s a bit smaller so it doesn’t accommodate too many people but it is very nicely decorated and they have speedy service so perfect for to-go orders!
Amazing! I love all of the different horchata flavors combined with coffee. Unlike most other horchata lattes, this one actually tastes like horchata and not just cinnamon added to a regular latte. The atmosphere is also great, super chill and cozy. The only down side is that there’s hardly any parking.
Excellent place with oustanding service. So many options for cafe de olla. They even offered a pup cup for my dog. Definetly recommend
Cute little quaint coffee shop with an impressive variety of delicious cafe de olla coffees. My wife and I tried the Socorro (hot) the Mulato latte (iced) and rhe Cafe de Olla Latte (iced) and loved all of them. We will definitely be back to tey more varieties and to try out their food as well. The employee that helped us was great and offered explanations of all the different coffees. The seating areas were comfy and cute and we look forward to trying out the patio when it is open. All in all a great experience.
Olla Express Café is an extremely cozy spot with such a beautiful vibe. From the moment you walk in, it feels warm, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed, the kind of place you just want to stay a while. The coffee is delicious, and there are plenty of options to choose from, whether you’re in the mood for something classic or a little more creative. Everything feels carefully made and full of flavor. The staff is incredibly kind and attentive, which makes the whole experience even better. Without a doubt, one of my favorite coffee shops in San Antonio.
My go-to coffee spot. Ive tried many of their drinks and the quality is consistently excellent. It’s also in a beautiful little casita, super cozy, and the vibe is always calm and welcoming. Great coffee, kind people, and the perfect place to chill or get some work done :)
My boyfriend and I have been coming to this establishment since they were at the old location at Los Patios. We well in love with the ambiance; the staff is always helpful in describing the different drink options. Their coffee is top notch and the variety of flavors just elevates the drink over all. Their pastries are just the right level of sweetness to pair with your drinks. Overall, my go to local place for a warm cup of happiness ❤️
I've lived here three years and I'm upset I just found this place. It's family owned and the unique coffee styles and signature drinks are absolutely wonderful. They offer free samples! I highly recommend. Parking is across the street from it.
Andrea, the owner of the coffee shop, is one of the sweetest coffee shop owners I’ve had the pleasure of coming across with. The establishment was so cozy and warm, it literally makes you feel at home. I love that they have their own coffee grounds and home made syrups you can purchase. As a Mexican, I am proud to see this establishment thrive!
Very unique coffee experience. Their coffee has a very nice spice blend incorporated with it, there is nothing else like this in San Antonio. They also do a coffee flight where they add additional unique Mexican spices to their base coffee. It's refreshing to find a coffee shop with unique flavors that don't come from a sugary syrup. They also have a variety of baked goods that are very good.
This review is long overdue! My mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and I visited Olla Express Cafe over Memorial Day weekend! I’m like 90% sure my sister-in-law found out about the coffee shop through a local food/coffee blogger on TikTok. My SIL was adamant about going and I fully supported!! It is a charming place! The atmosphere is intimate and cozy. I really liked the playlist they were playing, so much that I included a screenshot of a song that was on while we were there! I think it really captures the vibe! The two team members that were working were so knowledgable about each drink. I think that can be a rarity sometimes! I could tell they were really passionate about their product. I got the Cafe De Ella Latte and it was amazing! My SIL and MIL both enjoyed their drinks as well!! If we had more time during our trip, I think we would have been back. Olla Express Cafe has received several awards, and I understand why!
This may be my favorite coffee spot in all of San Antonio. It feels somewhat magical because it's hidden away in the woods with such chill vibes whether you sit inside or outside. Inside is bright and vibrant with plenty of seating options like small tables and a couch. The barista was quiet but friendly and quick making drinks. Their espresso is pretty darn good. They have alternative milk, which is nice. Outside has a courtyard feeling with cobblestone, lofty arching trees, a quietly bubbling fountain, and several nice metal tables. In the mornings it's a cool breezy spot to enjoy your coffee. You can pretend for a little bit that you're not in the middle of a huge sprawling and noisy city. They aren't open on Mondays or Tuesdays though. There's a bunch of good breakfast and lunch food options within walking distance. And a lovely trail nearby where people bike and walk.
Delicious Coffee and I love their patio outdoor area! It’s the perfect place! The coffee is made the Mexican way and it tastes so good, it’s not as bitter as other coffees. Make sure to order the coffee flight so you can try all the coffees! They also carry vegan kolaches and other delicious pastries. We loved it!
Such a cozy place that have at home vibes. Barista was nice and informative. I ordered cafe de olla latte and a banana bread. Both of which were delicious. Will def be going back. Parking is across the street. No biggie.
Chill place to grab a coffee and breakfast. It's inside a big, old house. There's plenty of space to hang out. Their drink menu has a lot of variety. We had the fuego latte, golden milk, Mexican biscuit with jam, and zucchini bread. The fuego latte had a nice hint of chili, but nothing to overpower the drink. It's a nice change of pace. The biscuit and bread were quite filling. I'm a big fan of this place and will be back to try different things on the menu.
Stopped by unplanned on a Sunday morning for a quick drink before having breakfast. Two young ladies immediately greeted me upon walking in and asked me if I had any questions. There was a nice choice of hot and cold coffees, teas, and a hot chocolate. There were also a few different pastry items at the counter. Ordered the Mexican Chocolate and Pink Beet Latte. Both drinks were ready within 5 minutes. There wasn't a crowd, so was able to pick from the different sitting areas. There was a living room area with couches and a rocking chair, standard dining tables, and bar height tables. It was a very relaxing atmosphere to sit and enjoy the drink in peace. Both drinks were great. I was hesitant about the Pink Beet Latte, but the beets weren't overwhelming and went well with the ginger and honey. The Mexican Chocolate had a nice mix of seasonings to go along with the milk and Mexican Chocolate. Nice place to come and enjoy some coffee, tea, or other warm drinks.
A workmate recommended this place. I decided to show up on a Friday before noon. It's a quaint little place. There's only street parking. it's adorable! I ordered one of their coffees with a croissant ham sandwich, and both were absolutely delicious. The Cafe de Olla I ordered was spicy, and I love spicy. It was perfectly sweetened, not too much. The batista was patient and friendly... great service. I had a great experience. Come check them out for yourself!!
My daughter and I popped into this charming little coffeehouse for some to-go drinks this morning. It was lovely inside and the drinks were just what we needed. Made with care, they were just as pretty as they were tasty! Definitely going back tomorrow morning! I especially want to point out that they had almond milk to sub in my latte in place of cow milk. That made my morning!

Best cup of coffee I've had in San Antonio. This shop has put some of the most amazing flavors in their coffee. I've never tasted so many different flavors in one cup of coffee ☕️ Simply Amazing 👏
We were blessed to get free breakfast and coffee. The atmosphere here is so relaxing. There is plenty of setting, and a lot of room. The lady at the front is sooo sweet and friendly. We will 100% be coming back. We got the bacon and egg sandwich (AMAZING) and the coffee it came with (HEAVENLY) I 100% recommend these coffee shop. And thank you Olla Express for helping feed San Antonio ✨♥️☕️
This is the BEST Cafe De Olla I’ve ever had! Love coming here so much, everyone is so kind and helpful. Even if cafe de olla isn’t your thing all of their traditional drinks are amazing. Definitely give the Cafe de Olla latte, tequila infused cafe de olla and the Carajillo Mañanero a try! My favorites!
Great service and atmosphere. The coffees are very flavorful and didnt even need milk. The flavor is authentic and taste just like the cafe the olla I had while on vacation in Mexico years back. I will definitely return.

Co-workers and I frequent this place for coffee mostly. The owner and the workers there are very friendly and have great attitude! The only reason it is not 5 stars is the coffee more often than not is warm instead of hot and sometimes the taste is a bit sour and the prices can be a bit high for the food items, BUT....they are really good! It makes a nice brunch meal. We will continue supporting the locals, and they got some table games too!

Called nobody answered walked in Never was greeted no help with the menu just stared at us not even the same as the one on TikTok it’s just a house no parking.only thing good there was the banana bread she asked after are u new here? That’s it ..if it was me I would’ve explained more of there specialty drinks or signature drinks just interact more with the customers I still tipped but that’s how u make more
This charming local is full of character. I liked that they had canned beverages from local San Antonio companies. They had keto pastry choices which are few and far between at cafes. The keto are sugar free, dairy free, and gluten free and you can’t tell. The keto matcha was moist and didn’t have he strong earthy flavor you can get with matcha tea. The pillimoncello (sp?)is VERY sweet. The coconut milk must be from a can because it was a little chunky not smooth. But that’s what I bake with so it was ok. It blends in with the other houses on my he street and parking is easy on the weekends. Everything has a Mexican foundation from coffee to flavors to gift items. This is a great place to support local, chat with friends, or study.

I think it’s pretty crazy to wait 30 minutes for a champurrado. There were only 3 people ahead of me. Barista was chitchatting with her friend and in that time she seemed to continue prioritizing her friends order since her friend already had a drink in hand when we arrived and she gave her another drink in between the other customers. Menu looked good, but the spot is not express and I would not recommend stopping in, especially not if you’re in a rush.
