Absolutely beautiful restaurant with a warm ambiance perfect for a date night at a table, or professional hangout at the bar. My fiancé and I stopped here by chance while touring the neighborhood and following our noses. This is the first Peruvian restaurant we've been to and it was delicious. Everything was cooked to perfection and far beyond what we expected. Service was kind and friendly, even when we struggled to decide what to get and kept ordering more and more food! A wonderful place with understandable high reviews.
The Loma Saltado is a soft beef tenderloin drenched in a sweet and tangy sauce that leaves a memorable dining experience. I will definitely come back again!
I love trying food from all over the world, so I had to give Mango a try when I saw it during a stroll downtown. The food is delicious! The beef was tender and easy to chew. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. I will be returning and bringing others.
This place was our first stop for lunch after landing in St. Louis. The food is absolutely amazing. I got their salteadi de salmon and it was one of the best dishes I've had in recent memory. There is a perfect blend of savory, sweet, and acidic flavors. Even the rice in its own was seasoned! I will definitely try to come back for this again. The service was also good as well. Complimentary fried plaintain chips with a cilantro dip as you are seated. Salteado de Salmón Nikkei salmon, green onion. ginger, avocado, red onion, cherry tomato. pickled cucumber, pickled carrots. oyster sauce, peanuts soy saltado sauce, roasted red pepper sauce, garlic jasmine rice
The food was pretty good; the portions are satisfying. The atmosphere and the service are great.
I must say the food and service was amazing! The plantain chips where freshly made a warm. The dipping sauce outstanding. This appetizer was over the top good, not to mention the attention from the waitress. We told her we were new and she took really good care of us. We weren't rushed and she kept my water glass filled and the plantain chips coming without us saying anything. Will be going back quite often and hoping for the same top notch service again. Oh not to mention I didn't get a pic of the main course since I eat it faster than I could remember to take a flick.
This is a gem. Very nice ambience with trendy environment. Great place for romancing your date. Drinks are very original. Food is fantastic. The sauce served with banana chips is heaven. Lastly, service with a smile.
The food was excellent! I had beef empanadas for an appetizer and a shredded chicken entree. The atmosphere was very nice. Lovely setting perfect for dates. The pisco sours were very good. The service was good as well. I did enjoy my time here.
Delicious Peruvian food in downtown Saint Louis. I had lunch with a wonderful friend who is origianly from Peru and she recommended the Lomo Saltado (pictured) and Chaufa de Quinoa and said that the dishes were fairly authentic recipes. They were delicious!
Excellent homemade food. Chips and salsa were free. Modestly priced. Great experience. Service was a touch slow but not enough for a 4 star rating.
Gourmet food at reasonable prices and a different variety of food...bon appetite. Thanks for making my birthday special!
This is an excellent Peruvian restaurant. The food was fantastic and the staff is always very friendly.
Outdoor seating. Did not order food but the sangria was delicious. Good service.
Great food. Great. atmosphere. Service a little weak but not a game changer
Awesome Peruvian restaurant and always busy. I didn’t make the reservation but was able to find a seat at the bar. The food is great just the parking can be tricky.
Seriously good food. The Causa de Salmon was so delicious, I wanted to order seconds. There is a nice, quiet atmosphere for a sophisticated or business lunch as well.
Great location, great space, great service, fantastic food and amazing prices for the quality. We just walked in from the street and what a nice surprise. Located in a beautiful historic building right downtown, the food at Mango is perfectly cooked and seasoned, and presented beautifully. Pictured: the ceviche
This is probably the first Peruvian restaurant I have been to. The experience was good! The food was very good. They give you dried plantains and a pureed dip to start with.
One of our favorite restaurants. We've been to both in Lima and and the location in Chicago. This was just as good as those! Excellent Peruvian cuisine!
The food was oh-so gooooooood. The plantains they set out are delicious, and their tapas were all amazing. My friend swears by the ceviche.
First time trying this place we had an awesome dinner! No wait for a Thursday walk-in at 6:30. Dine-in seating is currently available at 25% capacity. The staff is awesome, restaurant was very clean. Our drinks were the Pisco sour and El Wechon. If we'd gotten another round, I'd have tried the El Capitan. The drinks were delicious on their own and paired excellently with the Ceviche Mixto and Causa de Salmon starters. We had the Aji de Gallina and Lomo Saltado entrees and a side of Fried Sweet Plantains for dessert. Our server, Seth, was very friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive and he made sure that our orders were prepared to perfection (he caught a small mistake in the first preparation of one of the entrees). Based on this experience and Seth's descriptions, we're very excited to come back for a late lunch that blends into an early happy hour!
Love this place. Never have I been disappointed. Great service, food is fresh and you can taste the love! Thanks for taking the picture Jorge!
Delicious food. Had a chicken with rice dish that was quite tasty.
Finally found a place with good ceviche. The food, drinks, and service were great.
This time, I ordered the Ceviche Classico - fish cured in lime juice. Perfect! The sweet potatoes and Peruvian corn balanced the flavors nicely.
This was my first time dining in St. Louis and we decided to check this place out and I am so happy that we did! To start with there's unlimited plantain chips with side. There's a good amount of outdoor seating and the food tasted just amazing! It's one of the best tasting chicken dishes I've had in my life.
The food is really tasty and ambiance is fabulous. The waitress are friendly and really helpful ordering food. I would highly recommend eating at this restaurant. Great place to try new food, especially if your from our of state. Must try it once. Our waitress name was nikki and she will hook you up with free dessert ;).
Mango is absolutely wonderful. It's dishes are incredibly tasty, with engaging flavor profiles and generous portions. Went here for a date night and had an amazing experience. The waitstaff was super friendly. The cocktails are also unique, decently-priced, and very yummy. Go there and enjoy!!
I love it when you know right when you walk into a place: the culture, the authenticity, the vibe, the aroma of truly delicious food. Mango had me at hola. Everything we ate was simply perfect; I only wish we had room for more. The staff is all smiles, while also attentive to your needs and knowledgeable about the dishes. Our server picked out a few items for us and nailed them all, so of course we asked for her guidance for dessert. The ambiance is comforting, with a clientele keenly interested in all of the sensational lunch bowls and gastro-delights. I'm excited to return to Mango, as it goes beyond lunch in the city and becomes worthy of being the destination. Well done, Mango, well done.
Everything was wonderful! From the unique food options to the tasty cocktail list. Take a group and try as much as you can. My husband's favorites was the wings.
1st time @ this restaurant during quarantine. The staff was respectful and practiced social Distancing. They got that $$ . Food was delicious. Celebrated my friend of over 20 years birthday
Everyone who wants to try something new should check this place out! Their food is fantastic from start to finish. Be prepared for some spice, so if that's not your thing definitely ask you waiter for dish recommendations.
Great vibe, service, and food. The one thing I was amazed with was the service. Everyone there was super nice and helpful. This helped create modern and comfortable atmosphere. Now the food was great and delicious. Everything tasted very unique, and I felt like you can not go wrong with anything you can order. I ordered Aji De Gallina and Solterito, I highly recommend both. Be ready to try amazing Peruvian food!
I had a date night with my partner at Mango about 2 weeks ago and this place was amazing. I had never had Peruvian cuisine before and this place well exceeded my expectations. Upon arrival, the ambiance was very welcoming including the Staff. The decor was nicely done and we sat across from a fireplace. It wasn't turned on as it's summer here, but it was still very nice. Upon being seated we got a bowl of fried plantains and a green dip. I love plantains and of course are majority of them. The menus featured several different kinds of food I hadn't heard of and some was in Spanish, but I did well ordering as did my partner. Now, I do not remember the name of the meal I ordered, but my partner had chicken breast with a mango chutney. Mine was more of a soup and had potatoes, corn and garlic in it with pieces of chicken. Y'all I don't know the names of the meals. Next time I'll write them down. But just know the meal was FABULOUS 😉! My God. It was so good! Now I wanna go to Peru! We did order an appetizer and again I don't have the name, but it was mussels in broth with small bread slices. This was the ultimate bomb appetizer. That broth was so tasty. Just know that if you go to Mango on a date night or any other night, you won't be disappointed. This establishment is wheelchair accessible and featured outdoor seating. #Tonetta #speakyourtruth
Food was especially delicious, the happy hour snack deals were great (3-6M-F), staff all were helpful and friendly smile, atmosphere was great, and they have outdoor seating so you can enjoy the city life. Recommend the skewers.
This delectable eatery is in the heart of downtown. We ordered the steak bites and the chicken in the sauce along with beef hearts for appetizers. We were not let down. A perfect little place to have a grown up conversation and also the windows are huge so you can people watch if you are in to that. It was by far the healthiest meal I had for the entire week. Great food, good people and excellent service. I would suggest booking ahead it does get crowded.
Randomly walking through St Louis and was invited in by a lovely hostess. Mind you it was about 40 minutes till close. The food was some of the best I have eaten and our waitress was more than helpful on explaining their menu and recommendations! Definitely coming back the next time we are in the city!!
It was awesome food! Especially the plantain chips!!! The beef heart was good.
We had the Loma Saltado (Beef tenderloin) and he had the Saltado de Langostinos (shrimp). Both were delicious. Some of my beef were a little chewy. Overall, great flavors and the sauce in each were similar but tasty. Complimentary plantain chip and a pesto came out as soon as we sat down which offered a nice change and the drinks were stiff. Service was good in general but the young lady at my table was probably ready to leave and we could tell. Overall would definitely come back!
For the most part we enjoyed our first dinner at Mango. The drinks were nice, though the bar tenders were a little slow. We were the only ones at the bar and the place was not crowded. I'm all for making sure there done well, and I know a good rest cocktail takes time, but it seemed more like they were just chatting away taking their sweet time. The beef heart screwers were delicious and so was the shrimp dish we ordered. However, the ceviche was quite disappointing. It was very acidic. I know, ceviche is, but we opted for the mixed seafood option and it all tasted the same, very sharp vinegar/acid whatever. (I get ceviche almost every place it's offered, this was much stronger than most.) Also, as I noted before, we got the mixed seafood, which was suppose to include octopus. There were literally only two tiny tiny pieces of octopus. Very a disappointing.
Food was very tasty, service was was top notch. Down side is that they don't have customer parking. Street meter or pay parking only. Metered parking till 7pm and free on Sundays.
Fantastic food! Don't eat on the sidewalk, aggressive beggars. Also, super cool and knowledgabe staff.
Not as good as food in actual Peru but close enough. Great service. Very pricy
Wow. Great food and even better service. Be sure to try their specialty drinks!
This place is a little trendy for Peruvian, but the food is not bad. Service gets slow when place is packed, so be prepared to wait if you’re going for lunch.
The food was expectacular and I enjoyed it a lot. Some of the persons of the staff weren't really nice. My family and I had a little issue because we didn't want our food with cilantro and in one of the plate there was. However they were really nice and they brought us the same plate even though we finished the one with cilantro. Good food, good attendance but some of the people in the staff could be a bit nicer.
It was our first time trying Peruvian food. They had many vegetarian options. Plantain chips and cilantro salsa was awesome! We ordered the AVO toast, Soltorito de Quinoa, and coffee banana mousse. Food portion size for the main course was pretty small. Restaurant ambiance was good, it was not very crowded when we went.
Nice restaurant with inspired cuisines. We had a great evening and staff was amazing. Food i felt was decent. Would recommend a try.
It was good. Not exceptional, but good. The plantain chips are pretty easy to just keep eating. Everything tasted great, but it wasn't the *experience* I was hoping for. I'm sure that Covid has really limited their menu, so I hope to try it again when they are back up to speed.
Food was good, but pricey for what it was. Waitress was very knowledgeable and very kind. It took a long time to get our food even though it wasn't very busy.
