We had a great experience at Isla Blue and ended up dining here two nights during our stay. The food was very good both times, and the tasting menu with the wine pairing was a nice experience. Our waitress was absolutely amazing and really made the experience special for us. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and the views are even better. Service was a little slow at times, but hey that’s island time, right? 😄 It didn’t take away from our overall experience. We would definitely recommend Isla Blue and will be back for sure on our next visit.

Best food we have had our entire trip. The bartender, Blake, was amazing. Super helpful in suggesting food, drinks and pairing wines. Very attentive, kind and social. We ordered the gyoza as recommended and they were perfect, we started eating them before I could get a picture. The sauce was an amazing compliment to the gyoza. I ordered the spinach stuffed chicken with mashed potatoes and my husband ordered the whole fried snapper. Wow. Amazing. So fresh, delicate, seasoned and portioned so well. Finally, the dessert. Something I set my eyes on when we first arrived on the island- the horchata donuts. Phenomenal. We are coming back tomorrow night for them too. You have to visit this place. Everyone was so nice and helpful. The restaurant was so clean, elegant and well lit.

I had the pleasure of dining at Isla Blue in St. Thomas last week and I can't say enough wonderful things about this restaurant. The atomosphere is absolutely stunning- sweeping ocean views will greet you as soon as you walk in! Our waitress was Tara and she was wonderful! We ordered the Haus Scallops, the Bonita Roll and the Caribbean Grilled Lobster...the flavors jumped out at you immediately! Everything was excellent and you could taste how fresh all of the seafood and ingreients were. There's aslo a lovely lounge downstairs called the Sandbar where you can have a cocktail and listen to live music while you wait for your table. Hands down the best restaurant I've been to in the Caribbean in years! Can't wait to go back!

The ambiance and service was so wonderful we ate here 2 nights in a row for dinner. Our beautiful server Rhael was the reason we came back. She was so kind and very welcoming and we definitely enjoyed our time here. Tracy the manager was also very kind and checking in on us and making sure we had everything we needed. The chef needs a lifetime contract. Thank you again to all the staff for making my husband's 50th one to remember. See you again soon.

What a dream! My love took me here as a belated birthday celebration and Chris K. did not miss with the outstanding service. He recommended a delicious dessert as we had wonderful cocktails, and he treated us to birthday shooters. He even sang Happy Birthday to us and put candles on our dessert! Such a wonderful experience at a beautiful restaurant. I cannot wait to come back to this amazing island and visit Isla Blue again. Praying Chris K is still there lighting up the bar guest with phenomenal service!

This is a must visit restaurant when you visit St Thomas. Period. We came and celebrated a birthday 6 months ago. Nadine the manager and staff made it so special we made it our mission to come back here just to go to the restaurant. We were here the day we landed and the last night here in St. Thomas. This time Nadine made us feel even more special. There were flowers on the table. Everything she recommended was a hit for us. The host Adriana was so so so friendly and welcoming. I would hire her for any hospitality position . The waitress was super sweet. We could come here for dinner every night. We come here often and this is a must for us when we visit St. Thomas. I can’t thank Nadine enough for making us feel so very special every time. She is a gem. Will come back again soon I am sure.

Shocked at the reviews that said the food was subpar. We were very pleased with our experience! The food was beautifully cooked. Drinks were the best we had on the island. We chose Isla Blue for our more formal dinner of our vacation and it did not disappoint. The restaurant is beautiful! Service was good. Overall really enjoyed the experience!

We visited Isla Blue and could not rave more about the food and service. Karen our waitress was outstanding. The chefs Angel and Alali did an incredible job with everything especially the steaks. We visited Prime the night before which is their father company. And we would come back to Isla!!! Highly recommend. Best food so far on the island.

In general what a superb restaurant! Staff were gracious and knowledgeable and perfect beachside decor. You’re right on the water but elevated for a stunning view! We sat at the bar first and all house specialities were fantastic. Depending on the season you will want to make reservations in advance to secure a place especially during dinner. All in all you just can’t go wrong with anything you order but the fresh fish options were dynamite. Cheers!

Thanks to the staff for an amazing night! Isla Blue accommodated our bigger group of 16 for dinner. Drinks came quick and the cocktail menu was great. I recommend the Material Girl. Dinner was delicious and The Ambiance was beautiful. Clint was our main server. He made the evening fun and special for us. Thanks to all the staff! We will be back.

We stayed at the Morningstar Buoy House and we ate at Isla Blue. Lovely atmosphere. The service was outstanding. Our server, V was attentive, thoroughly answered all of our questions about the menu and got our food to us quite quickly. It was service with a beautiful smile. The food was excellent. Beautifully presented and delicious. We had the langostino tacquitos as an appetizer. Then for the main course, I had the butterflied tiger prawns. Absolutely delicious, grilled to perfection and the prawns were enormous. My husband had the Carribean lobster. The lobster was perfectly cooked and tender. The dipping sauce for the lobster was also good, a lemon butter sauce. We had the jalapeño creamed corn with caviar on the side. It was so different but good, the corn was crisp and the sauce was creamy. If we are ever back in St Thomas again, we will be stopping by Isla Blue. It was an awesome dining experience.

Such a beautiful restaurant! Service, food, and atmosphere were all amazing. Billy was the sweetest server and so friendly!! Best donuts I’ve ever had. Definitely recommend this restaurant for date night ❤️

Love this place! We stayed at the Buoy Haus hotel and Isla Blue is conveniently located just a few feet down the beach from our hotel. The ambience is great, open air restaurant and every table has a great view of the ocean. The food is top notch - I had the ahu tuna steak and my kids had the skirt steak, they both said it was one of the best steaks they've ever had. Service was great as well. Right after our meal we made reservations to return another night on our vacation. 10/10

My husband and I stayed at the Buoy Haus for our honeymoon and the first night we got in, we were hungry and decided to try Isla Blue. Our server, Tom, was an absolute delight!! He honestly made our trip so enjoyable! He gave us great service at Isla Blue, but he also helped give us a great trip with his recommendations and things to do and where to go! Definitely recommend not only for amazing food, but great service and hospitality!!

The restaurant is beautiful, the view is hard to beat as far as oceanfront restaurants. Had a few different (actually craft) cocktails. This is a fine dining restaurant so the prices reflect that. No huge portions. I went with friends and we split a lot of different starters and entrees. I can swim in the cassava mash. Service was top tier. Great experience overall, will return!

Dined at Isla Blue this past weekend. Great sunset view and restaurant. We loved the food and drink recommendations from Kaitlyn at the bar. Personal favorites were the Killer Bee and Last Samurai for drinks, and we loved the tacos and scallops for appetizers! Great time overall!

This is a open-air Latin restaurant on the second floor above the Morning Star Buoy Haus Resort lobby. We were seated directly above the beach and were serenaded by the sounds of the surf for our entire meal. The food was very tasty but maybe a bit over sophisticated for its own good. Our server was professional, knowledgeable, and efficient.

Such a great experience the first time we went back for our final night in Saint Thomas. The food is fantastic - beautifully prepared, complex and delicious sauces and sides. The whole family loved Isla Blue's take on caesar salad, and my husband's lobster was a thing of beauty. Billy, our server, was just too wonderful for words - we are all so glad we had the pleasure to meet him. A high-end experience that is truly worth the investment.

My wife and I went to Isla Blue during our honeymoon and had a fantastic meal and experience! Billy was wonderful and took the time to ask if we were celebrating a special event and then continued to call us “my Honeymooners” throughout the evening. The Lionfish was cooked well and had fantastic flavor. My wife’s chicken was tender and also had tasty flavors. We ended the night with the coconut cake and lime sorbet, which paired beautifully together. Definitely recommend Isla Blue, and if you’re fortunate to have Billy as your waiter, have some leftovers so he can make you a swan!

We had some delicious drinks and good food at isla blue. Our waitress was super welcoming and attentive. The restaurant had an issue with their credit card system and inadvertently duplicated my charge. The owner/manager was super helpful and immediately reversed the duplicate. Great customer service!

This was by far the best restaurant we went to on this trip. I just wish we didn’t wait for the last night because I would have definitely gone more than once. I do admit it was expensive, but the food was so good, I feel it was worth it. Everything we ordered was great, including the dessert. The service was exceptional and the location, right on the beach, with the open environment was amazing.

This food place was amazing. The view is spectacular. Billy with a B was so amazing with our service took pictures for the group recommended his favorite menu items even told us some spots where we might have fun. When ordering food, you get a good proportion of everything.

This was our best dining experience at the Westin properties. Our server Billy was friendly, attentive, and his charm added so much to our celebrating the last night of our honeymoon. The food was also exceptional (scallops appetizer, grilled mahi, and ribeye). We recommend dining early, as many of the more popular items were no longer available when we arrived for our 8pm reservation. Billy helped us find other delicious options, while also helping ensure my meal was gluten-free. (The mango GF dessert is amazing!!!) The ambiance is lovely- beachy but still elegant.

We really enjoyed this restaurant and think it should have a better rating! The restaurant is gorgeous and our server, Molly, was a joy of a person and totally attentive to our needs. We had cocktails and split a fish special and a side of the cassava mash. Get the cassava mash - wow, delicious and rich. The visual presentation of the fish special was a little meh, but it tasted very good and fresh. We enjoyed our drinks, food, and time here especially for the convenience if you’re staying at the Buoy Haus.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (10/10) Excellent food, service, and ambiance. Our server, Chara, was absolutely fabulous—I’d hire her for my business in a heartbeat if I lived here. The restaurant is easy to get to and a great value thanks to the high-quality food and outstanding service. The ocean view is amazing, and the seating is perfectly spaced, making the experience feel relaxed and comfortable. Honestly, this place is far better than the Westin restaurants, where service is often very slow and you can end up feeling forgotten. Isla Blue truly delivers on every level.

We were a table of 8 - 4 of us had the tasting menu and the other four ordered off the menu. Our server was very nice and very knowledgeable. We had wine and cocktails. Both were excellent. The food was pretty, fresh, and tasty. The scallops were simply the best bite I put in my mouth! The steak was good but undercooked, and the wahoo was delicious and a good piece of fish but very overcooked. The desserts were just fine. Nothing that I would order again. We had a couple salads that were excellent! Overall, I would definitely recommend!

When we arrived at this restaurant, they said they didn't have any open tables. Mean while on the app "Open Table" showed Isla Blue had plenty of open tables. I'm not sure why they treated us in this manner they were willing to refuse use service for no reason. Even after making a reservation on Open Table, they made us wait 15 minutes until the reservation time came up before seating us. Even though the table was open the whole time. I am very confused by the staff. The service was great the food was good. The humidity was high that evening, and it's opened air dining, so wear something very comfortable.

We came in and sat at the bar right after a 36 top came in. We were served drinks quickly and we warned food would take a while, but it ended up not taking long at all. Kudos to the kitchen on not missing a beat with that huge party coming in! All of our appetizers were good, and we finished with the chocolate tres leches which was amazing. Drinks and service were solid.

Server was amazing. Food was great. But $135 for one person is wild . I had Cesar salad, chicken breast, cream corn, mashed potatoes. That’s a $40 meal back home lol or maybe I’m just cheap

Giving this place 3 Stars because of the temperature & flavor of their Chef’s Specials. A grouper tamale was very under seasoned and the lobster bisque soup came out lukewarm, not once but twice. Drinks were great, fried snapper was fried great, not a lot of bones, and the mashed potatoes were cheesy and seasoned good. Our waitress was very friendly and understanding of not liking or accepting of the soup. Her service was definitely 5 Stars but as far as the specials, they weren’t really special.

Party of 4, friend's from S.C. Would give food 3.5 **. Very interesting menu... definitely a flair for the added spice or 'kick'. Ask waiter to hold the 'chili dust' from everything. Although not pictured, loved the LA ISLA BONITA ROLL also known as the blue crab/ tuna roll. Very tasty! Also, the scallops were pretty good. The beef may have come from Australia. The BUTTERFLIED TIGER PRAWNS (shrimp) were overcooked and had to be sent back and the cilantro rice was under cooked (and crunchy) and exchanged for the mash potatoes which had great flavor. Servicer was friendly but service was...??? had to ask for more water twice. Red wine was served cold..??!! Very nice ambiance.

My husband’s birthday dinner on the island. Ambiance is great, love the decor. I first called to say we’re celebrating my husband’s birthday, and they were very nonchalant. We get to the restaurant and waiter was nice but seems to be in a hurry. I felt he didn’t check on us as well as he did others. I mentioned it’s my husband’s birthday and he didn’t say anything, the table next to us is celebrating a birthday and he wished her a happy birthday. The appetizers were ok, we had the sizzling tiradito, the bonito flakes were definitely not dancing. We also had the roll and that was good. My food was good, I had the Mexican fish stew. The worst part was that my husband’s dinner was horrible. He left hungry! He ordered the wahu and it was overcooked and tough. We told our waiter and after a while he brought another fish and this time it was basically raw. The waiter did make up for it by taking off his meal and our drinks but for a $150 meal, the food was very basic. We basically shared my food for dinner. Overall disappointing and would not recommend. I’m a little Leary trying out their sister restaurant, the prime, tomorrow night for our 35th anniversary dinner. It came highly recommended so we will try.

We had no reservations and were given a table immediately upon arrival which was nice. The atmosphere was pleasant but after ordering the Chicken and a tropical salad with no onion, we waited for AN HOUR for just those two dishes to be brought out to us … and the salad still had onion so I had to send it back. When it finally came out again, I noticed it was NOTHING like in the menu. The menu described papaya, dragonfruit, toasted coconut, celery, lime dressing etc … I just got arugula with a few diced cucumbers and a piece of watermelon. When I asked the waitress, she said that substitutions happen when the kitchen is unable to get certain ingredients. I understand that might be the case on an island , however when almost every single ingredient is missing, it’s worth checking with the guest to make sure they actually like all the substitutions or whatever is left of the « salad» .

Food was great and the atmosphere was beautiful. However, that was it. Don’t come here on an empty stomach because you will be waiting for your food for about 45 minutes. I ordered the prawns and mussels, and it took forever. The waiter was wonderful, but the food just took too long.

Atmosphere in this restaurant is tough to beat, so let’s just say it’s perfection and get that out of the way. We heard very mixed things about the food going into our meal, and I’ll start by saying everything we ordered was DELICIOUS. Cooked beautifully & well seasoned with great flavors…HOWEVER, the guy who told us we’d spend a fortune and leave hungry had the most accurate assessment. The portions are absolutely tiny. And for the price, it feels like a rip off. The appetizers are 2-3 bites and they’re gone. My entree was phenomenal, but the smallest piece of chicken ever. If you don’t mind spending a fortune to order multiple entrees or tons of sides and extras, you’ll be happy. Otherwise, anticipate needing a midnight snack.

The atmosphere and ambience was the best part of this experience! The food was unfortunately very average for how expensive and high end it was to be. The steak was average, the beans were just beans, broccolini was average. The best part were the appetizers, we got the gyoza and the north point noodle tuna.

Unfortunately, my experience here was disappointing. While the menu sounded appealing, the overall service and attention to guests did not reflect the prices being charged. There are many other restaurants in the area that offer better food and hospitality for the same or even lower cost. I wouldn’t recommend dining here until improvements are made.

Atmosphere was beautiful. Prawn severely overcooked, rice undercooked ,and had to ask for water three times largely overpriced but a beautiful location. Our waiter tried his best to be accommodating.

Spent almost 400 , I got lobster, red snapper, and the scallops. The scallops were absolutely amazing. The lobster was very tough, The red snapper had no flavor… The service was absolutely great, which is why I’m leaving two stars. I ended ended up going to Cravin crabs two days later, And they have some of the same options and although I would’ve never thought this place would’ve been better… I ordered red snapper and a lobster tail and both of them were way better, The sides We’re a lot better as well. I spent $70 on 2 meals

Very disappointing experience. Much better food when it was Havana Blue. $600 for family of 5- only one beer and one cocktail for drinks. My tacos were too salty. None of the entrees (very small portions) include any sides and waitress makes it seem like it does. Cream corn tastes like canned corn and ceasar salad ($24) is lettuce with horrible spicy mayo dressing- that’s it. Will definitely NOT return here to eat. Probably one of the most expensive and non-memorable meals I have had in a long time! The coconut-lime sorbet was highlight of the meal.

Sad to say Isla Blue was disappointing 😥. Very pricey yet weak wine pours, mediocre food and service 👎. Lobster entree was bland and tuna was tasteless sadly. Cilantro rice was cold. Ceasar salad was very odd lol... almost like peanut butter 🤷. Service was scarce too😵. Dessert was the best part of the meal. Sadly do not recommend 👎👎. It's a shame to charge high prices for mediocre dinners. You can do better @islabluestthomas

I try to keep my reviews as honest and trustworthy as possible. This review will be no exception. To start on a good note, the dining room is absolutely stunning and our group was deeply impressed by the color and grandeur of the restaurant. Our server, a fine server with a flair for entertainment and extravagance, was decent in his attempts to provide good service. Unfortunately, nothing could make up for the elephant in the room, and that is the lackluster food and incompetence of the kitchen staff. Our food took an hour+ to arrive, and what we received was beyond disappointing. Subpar to bland flavors, unsatisfying portion sizes, and inconsistent cooking practices made us appreciate the joys of what we couldn’t receive, a truly satisfying meal. We had ordered the gyozas, the tropical ensalada, seared achiote tuna with rice (separate), and the fish of the day (lionfish). While the pork gyozas were decent, and the only saving grace of the meal, the flavor was very similar to those at other restaurants with a much better price-point. The salad was mediocre, the lionfish meh, and the tuna absolutely abysmal. The tuna was cold when originally received and it’s complimentary rice crunchy. On the kitchen’s second time at a remake (arriving roughly 30 minutes later when the rest of our group finished our meals), they burnt the tuna to give it the flavor of a Japanese child after surviving an atomic bomb; disappointingly, it was barely edible. The restaurant staff did try to correct their mistakes with free drinks and a complimentary (undercooked when received (medium requested - raw received)) steak, thanks in part to our aforementioned lovely server, but nothing could fill the hole in our stomachs which craved a culinary experience of a wonderful meal. In conclusion, I must sadly state that any interested eater seeking good food and filled stomachs should avoid this restaurant. However, should you read this and not heed my advice, I wish you the best of luck on your reckless endeavor; and I’ll enjoy seeing your reaction on the next episode of kitchen nightmares.

One of the worst restaurant experiences of my life. I visited this restaurant on July 31, 2025, and after waiting almost an hour and 45 minutes, the salad that finally arrived was missing several ingredients, and the mahi mahi we received was completely dried out. Because the restaurant didn’t have the dish I originally ordered, the host kindly offered a zarzuela. However, what I was served was nothing like the traditional Spanish red zarzuela—it was a brown/green dish that looked unappetizing and had absolutely no flavor. After waiting nearly two hours, I was served a dish that wasn’t even on the menu and was inedible. As I was leaving, I spoke with the female manager because I have gluten and dairy allergies, and shortly after eating I developed chills, stomach pain, and sweating—clear symptoms of food poisoning. The manager apologized, explained they were short-staffed in the kitchen, and promised to refund the full transaction. No one else ever came to our table to apologize or acknowledge the issues. I trusted her to process the refund, but instead I was double-charged. I’ve been disputing this with my credit card company for the past four months. The only positive part of this experience was the host and our waitress, who were both polite and understanding. To the manager: I flew home the next day sick because of your food. You promised to refund the charges, and failing to honor that promise is not good business. I waited to write this review because I genuinely wanted to give you a second chance the next time I visit St. Thomas, but it’s clear you did not stand by your word.
