I have enjoyed the food as well as the service. Highly recommend this place if you are in the mood for Pho that is tasty and priced right!
Great food !Came here with kids and they loved it !Service is great no question
My favorite Pho place to go. Their Calamari is still the best thing on their menu. The pork chop with sausage and egg on rice + calamari combo is the best thing ever.
Little gem!!! We always come here for their Pho and Buttered Beef Cubes(Bo LucLac). I had only one other Staten Island Vietnamese restaurant to compare to this one and Rainbow Pho is the absolute winner. Delicious food, quick service and family athmosphere ❤
Simply excellent! The food was very good, served fast, great portions and not expensive. I only wish my soup was a bit spicier but still it was very tasty.
There's not many good Asian places to eat in Staten Island but this Vietnamese place is very very good. They are very friendly and the price is very reasonable and more important the food is fantastic. Try the Vietnamese sandwich or the pork chops over white rice with fish oil sauce. They also sell iced coffee which is very very strong.
Vietnamese is one type of cuisine I have never gotten into, and not because I didn't like it, just haven't passed many vietnamese restaurants in my time. I have had take out Bun Bo Xio (Sauteed Beef over Rice Noodles) from a few places over the years so I decided to try it at Pho Rainbow. The beef was sauteed perfectly and had amazing flavor. When combined with the noodles, greens, peanuts and sauce, perfection. Almost went back to try something else for dinner. I will definitely be frequenting this place. So cheap as well. $7.50 for a great portion that kept me filled up all day (obviously noodles are very filling no matter what) Keep up the great work. I will definitely spread the word and be back soon.
Casual but friendly service, pan fried noodles not on the menu but everything was very very good, grilled pork chop and grilled chicken is a must, more tender than the other places including those on the lower East side of Manhattan.
The food here is so delicious! The owner pays great attention to detail. They have the best customer service ever. Highly recommend this place to anyone who appreciates great food and a delightful atmosphere.
Great place. Great value. A must go for a delicious bowl of soup. I should prbably try more of the menu out, yet I find it difficult to not get the same soup everytime I go. The housemade chili sauce is a pretty good addition too.
Great Pho. On the whole island there're only two legitimate Vietnamese pho restaurants, and this is one of them. The rest adds pho as a spinoff to their menus using pho flavor packet, and they are nothing close to the taste of the pho from here. Service is okay but food is amazing. Make sure you mix hoisin sauce with Sriracha as a dipping sauce. The sauce does separate with water due to different density so make sure you shake the bottles.
this is the best Vietnamese restaurant on the island. the staff is friendly and when you order take out, the food is still fresh and the egg rolls are still crunchy. love their pork chop over rice and spring rolls
I am an immigrant from Taiwan, but my family and I love pho- a Vietnamese food. I live in Long Island, this is the pho with the best value, and taste good. My son and I had my dinner there, and I had takeouts for my wife and 90 year old mom. Go there, if you need pho or want to try pho.
I came here with my family and we had a great meal. We enjoyed the food and the staff was nice. When we went it was extremely empty so the food came fast. We ordered practically about everything on the menu. Overall no complaints !!
This place is absolutely amazing. The best veitnamese food that I have ever eaten and I have been to hundreds of places all over the country. The people who run the place are very friendly, courteous and respectable. When I have friends visit from out of town I bring them here for a great meal. The prices are very reasonable and the food always fresh and tasty.
This is a real gem of Staten Island. Vahn mi sandwiches and soups/pho are truly excellent. They are so fresh and delicious, they could do very well in Manhattan among myriad other shops. There are some really high quality food stops on SI and this is one of the best!!!
Five stars doesn’t even scratch the surface. Handsdown best grilled pork chop in town!!!
This restaurant deserves a 10/10 rating!! I've ordered from this vietnamese restaurant many times now and I'm always impressed by the food AND service every time. My favorite dishes to order are their: special big bowl pho noodles and fried spring rolls with lettuce. Let's all support this small business!!!!
It's fire just got charged a exta pork sandwich
Great service and great food! Authentic pho and the spring rolls is amazing. Definitely one of the best places to get Vietnamese in the island without a doubt. Literally come here all the time too.
Always love eating here. The workers are very sweet and always recommend the best foods. The food is very fresh here and tasty. I love the variety of dishes they have. No long waits. Highly highly recommend
Went here with a friend and wow!! Some of the best soup I've had in a long time. I got the vegetable pho and the flavor from the broth soaked into the vegetables and tofu perfectly without making them soggy. Everything tasted really fresh, the restaurant was nice and clean, and the staff was great. Can't wait to go back.
The broth is typically clear and deeply flavorful, without being greasy, noodles are chewy but soft, lots of toppings, savory. Excellent service.
Best grilled pork sandwiches I've ever had. Service was perfect. Attendants are very kind and helpful. Food was very good. I can't wait to go again. Gives an authentic Korean atmosphere with the dining experience with soothing Korean songs playing gently in the background.
Hidden gem out in Staten Island , very authentic Vietnamese food with a massive menu. Very tasty, fresh ingredients, huge portions and authentic options that you don’t see in run of the mill Vietnamese places downtown! Great prices too would definitely come back here
Good service and food. The pho broth is tasty.
“The pork chops pho here are absolutely amazing!
I finally found a great Vietnamese restaurant. I went to other Vietnamese restaurants, but Pho Rainbow is the best so far. Great experience!!!! Congratulations!!!
What a great eating experience! We had the crispy squid, pork chop, spring rolls and I had the pho seafood. Everything was superb and the service excellent. Such a great change from the regular burger or pizza lunch. Already looking forward to going back with the boys for lunch.
I’ve been coming to this restaurant for years and it’s always consistent and the owner and her husband are soooooo kind. The food is delicious and I absolutely love the Pho and the grilled chicken and pork chops are amazing too!!!! I can’t recommend this cozy spot enough!!!!
After being gone 5 yrs from the area, i was in town today and only wanted Pho Rainbow 3! The food was just how i remembered it and so glad i was able to revisit. Already planning my next trip back to area to eat here again!!
The food there is great! It came in large portions with an inexpensive price. The restaurant itself is clean/neat with kind staffs that speaks both English, Mandarin and Cantonese. My favorite is the curry chicken which is nicely done, the flavor just right.
Best Vietnamese on Staten Island (and reasonably priced).
Such good food!! The waitress was amazing and the sweetest
First time visiting! We ordered the juicy pork chops with fried rice and 3 sides (Goi Cuon, fried wings and the sliced pork). The food was great, extremely affordable and they give you so much food (leftovers for the next day). The service was fast and the staff were friendly. Will definitely come back!
My husband and I heard about this place and decided to try it. We were not disappointed. We loved the atmosphere and the food was great. Our server was very nice. The spring rolls and pho were my favorite! Highly recommend!
The service is always amazing. The food is even better. I got the bahn mi and it was better than the last time I came which was 4 years ago. I highly recommend this hidden gem to anybody who's looking for a great meal
The pork chops and rice is so good
This was my first time coming to this place and it was wonderful. The food was delicious and the service was great. The portions were also a very good size. Plenty of food for very reasonable prices. Will definitely be coming back!
Great tasting food Good prices EVEN better portions (probably the best on the island) without sacrificing quality Not the most amazing atmosphere but by no means bad Very friendly service
Ate here for dinner the other day and the food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the Summer Roll and the Shrimp Pho along with a Mango Bubble Tea. My Mom ordered a pork chop vermicelli bowl and a strawberry boba tea. Everything we ordered was delicious and cooked to perfection. The service was a little slow but the staff were extremely friendly. Would definitely return again.
Reasonably priced and good portion compared to all other new Vietnamese restaurants on the island. I am glad that they are still around after all these years,.
First time try this place , ordered #51. Wow, this grilled pork chop is super tender and full of juice, it tastes amazing!!!!
I discovered Pho Rainbow about 5 months ago when I started working in the area, and I've eaten there once or twice a week ever since. The owner / hostess is kind, knowledgeable, friendly and professional. The service is excellent and the food is delicious. The menu is large and can cater to anyone. The pricing is very reasonable and less expensive than similar restaurants. I highly recommend eating there.
Highly recommend all grilled Pork and Chicken dishes. Meats are tender and tasty. They also have a lunch special menu if you want to give it a try.
Hidden gem - food is always incredible, fast, and affordable. The staff is also so kind.
This is a long-established restaurant with affordable prices and good taste. You can only know if it is delicious by trying it yourself. The pork chop rice is so so so good and the Vietnamese noodle soup is also delicious. I come here almost every week . Highly recommend!
The food here is just delicious and very clean place and the services are very nice
FOOD IS JUST GREAT ITS LIKE IT WAS WHEN I WAS IN US NAVY COMMAND MACV. SAIGON 1972. BRINGS BACK ALOT OF GOOD MEMORIES DESPITE THE TROUBLED TIMES IN VIETNAM. GO FOR IT AND TRY IT!! MUST TRY THE VIET STYLE PORK SANDWICH EXCELLENT ALSO ANY VERMICELLI RICE DISHES TOO!!
delicious food, absolutely kind and humble owners. so nice on the phone and in person, never had a missing item when ordering out. perfect place
I just ate at pho rainbow like right now! I ordered pho with soup and meat and noo and also vegetabers. The best part of the meal was definitely! The restaurant was not very busy so I got to pick a seat for friends my and I because there weren’t people there. Omthat is one of my favorite restaurants things. Is when you get to pick your own seat. Becaeu sometimes I just eantqto sit where I would like you know what I’m saying! I would definitely eat here again if I was hungry and needed to eat food because when I’m hungry I like to eat food because it makes me not hungry more. I would definitely.
Staten Island hidden gem : Pho Rainbow! Not too much options, but every dish is crafted to perfection no shortcuts, The team focuses on quality over quantity, and it shows big time. Flavors are nextlevel, authentic, and so satisfying.this is all about the food.
It’s in the name and all, but you must order the pho if you dine here! The broth is so rich and the noodles are so hearty. It’s unfortunate that we only dine here when we feel under the weather but that’s also a mark of just how comforting the food here really is—better than medicine! We felt better immediately as we sipped a spoonful of their both! Servers were also so nice and made sure everything was to our liking. It’s just around the corner from some of the more busy neighborhoods so it’ll almost never be an issue getting a table. One of Staten Island’s hidden gems!
This place is my go to for pho! I absolutely love it, my boyfriend and i always go here wether its summer or winter, we always enjoy their food which is so delicious, and rachel is such an amazing person, always has a positive attitude and is soo friendly. We will continue to come back for more
This is a true gem 💎 of Staten Island eateries. Located directly adjacent to the New Dorp SIRT train station, Pho Rainbow is a flawless masterpiece. The service is the best on the Island. If you are a regular be prepared to be pampered every visit including free, delicious concoctions as well as staff hidden specialties. You feel like you’re among family every time. Rachel is an incredible human being. The Pho offerings are plentiful and can easily be customized to your specifications. The broths are nothing short of therapeutic even on the unlikeliest of sweltering summer days. Any pork dish is as masterful as flavorful. The Banh Mi sandwiches are the best I’ve ever had. The appetizer selections are amazing and prepared to perfection every time without fail. The homemade beverages such as Rainbow Ice with Coconut Milk and Lemon Iced Tea are better than any bottled drinks on the market. In closing not enough can possibly be said or expressed as to how incredible this restaurant is or how lucky we are to have this culinary delight in the heart of New Dorp. This is by far one of the best our Island has ever had to offer in my 47 years as a native. Flawless.
No frills, no fuss, pho restaurant. The outdoor awning and curb appeal of this restaurant looks sketchy and, honestly, that’s oftentimes a sign of really good, authentic tasting pho. That was not the case here as the pho could’ve been more flavorful. I’m giving it five stars to support the business but there is room to improve as there is better pho out there.
I have been ordering takeout from pho rainbow since at least 2014 til now and I am happy to say they have been consistent, delicious, and budget friendly. Their staff are always friendly as well. Never disappoints. I should’ve written this review a decade ago but… I forgot until Google reminded me to. Photos are from last night’s order.
The place will not jump out at you when you drive by, but it does have its own charm. Street meter parking available. 1. Good selection of Pho style food. 2. Very yummy. 3. Have noodles and rice dishes for kid taste. 4.very cozy atmosphere. 5. Highchair available for families with small children. 6. Price is very reasonable. 7. One more thing. Bridge your appetite since the portion size is generous for the very reasonable $.
Been here a couple years now. Decent service, sometimes they make the food too salty, and serving time could be a little slow depending on your order. But other than that a good restaurant with good tasting food, so if you want some Vietnamese food try it out!
Amazing Vietnamese place! Been here a few times for lunch and the sandwiches were SO good. Some of the other things I had were not quite as good, but still decent. Would like to come back and try some other dishes, but always get tempted by the sandwiches.
A lot of people come here and no one gives review. MY #1 FAV FOOD IS HERE! The Vietnamese Spring Roll. It's amazing. Always fresh and warm! The pho is good too. Never salty. It's very different menu & we are Hispanic and we still love it. The pork chops are DELICIOUS!!
I'm not Vietnamese so I can't comment on it's authenticity, and I have yet to have the Pho here, but the Spring rolls, friend rice, grilled pork, curry, and lemongrass dishes are all delicious. It's one or my favorite spots in the neighborhood. I just wish they still delivered without using door dash.
This is a good Vietnamese restaurant in Staten Island. Authentic food with one dollar sign price. I think the portion is pretty big and I normally can’t finish one regular meal on my own. Must order drink for me is the plum soda and they make it just right.
Extremely afforable and very good food. There are many choices alongside Pho, which itself is awesome. The restaurant now delivers via GrubHub (until recently it was collection only) however if you're ordering the pho, do yourself a favor and dine in! The only downside is that the restaurant is quite small so can fill up on busy night and doesn't stay open late.
Family run restaurant with good cheap Vietnamese food. Lot’s of tables for big family gatherings. And tables for singles. Oh and parking is free after 5pm. Street parking only and they deliver. But even the meters give you time for a leisurely lunch.
Usual quality for Viet food. There's better selection else where but nothing that's close by. Overall is good food. The spring rolls are nice and crispy and the quality and flavor are just like what you would expect, nothing less. Easy parking in front. The pho broth could be better but I'm not complaining.. good eats.
My first time here.. I ordered Pho #2 Special Bowl + Beef Ball Noodle Soup... It was delicious. Tender beef. The service was very good. At 11:30 am there already was a brisk takeout and people were coming in to dine. The interior is basic but cozy. There is parking.
Very delicious Pho & very fast service. (Just make sure when you're ordering Pho with beef in it, to tell them to cook it if you'd like. They told me it's usually served pink/uncooked regularly, which I wasn't informed of before receiving my order. That might be normal for some people but the other restaurant I get Pho from hasn't ever done that.) But overall, would recommend for sure.
This Vietnamese pho restaurant is quite good. The broth is rich and flavorful, which really enhances the dish. The meat is tender and well-prepared, making each bowl enjoyable. They also offer a vegetarian option with a vegetable broth that still captures the essence of traditional pho, which is great for those with dietary preferences. Overall, it's a solid choice for pho lovers.
Pho Rainbow has a small and quiet seating area that creates a cozy environment. I went with two friends and had no trouble acquiring a table. The menu was detailed and helped avoid any confusion. Instead of water they start you off with a teapot, which was highly enjoyable. I got a vegetable sandwich and the shrimp fried rice. I found it to be delicious. Unfortunately, the service was lacking even when we were the only people in the restaurant. Our server hardly checked in on us after we ordered and they even forgot my friend’s main dish. Also, we had to wait forever to get our bill. I would go back, but I hope the servers would be more attentive.
Solid for a quick bite. Good rolls and service, but don’t get too excited about the pho broth or noodles. Eye round was cut thick and either pre cooked or sat in back too long.
Food was pretty good, service was great. Business seems to be good as well. More expensive than Brooklyn and the feel wasn't as authentic either. Only problem I had was a lady on her iPhone using FaceTime speaking extremely loud.. why the hell are you on the phone at dinner time?!
Where shall I start? If you're looking for authentic Vietnamese food, this ain't it! I googled Vietnamese food near me and this was off the bearen path so I wanted to try it. The first thing I saw was staff making spring rolls without gloves. Right then and there was the time to leave but I was hungry and decided to stay. Second thing was the CHINESE decour and characters lightbulb over my head goes on still didn't leave. I wanted spicey curry sauce and some crushed peanuts on the side. The waitress said no no no (Amy Whinehouse voice). Waitress said pork chop juicy. I ordered the chop over rice and some fried spring rolls. Looking back on the reviews of this place they're all favorable, saying "Best Vietnamese" on the Island or "best I ever had". Clearly, these people haven't left Staten Island. It was not a good experience for me and I have had excellent Vietnamese on the Island and 90% of their customers are Asian. I had to doctor up my leftovers to finish my meal. If you see CHINESE decour and characters, it's not Vietnamese. Learn the difference.
I found the service to be extraordinarily lacking. I came to eat here with my girlfriend and it took a very long time to get our food. Not only that, we had each ordered pho and were only given a single plate of pho condiments. It's worth mentioning that other patrons were given larger plates all of whom were Chinese speakers. Food was decent but not worth the time and hassle.
This place is definitely a hidden gem on SI (if you haven’t been!!). My boyfriend and I have been going there since it opened and we were so delighted to have a good pho place. But unfortunately, service has been terrible lately. I believe there has been a change of ownership and it’s just not the same. Their food is still delicious but leaves me wondering if I really want to go back...
I come from a Vietnamese background. My family is Vietnamese, from Vietnam, cooked Vietnamese food a lot. I've been to countless Vietnamese restaurants since early 2000s, through new ownerships , of various types (fusion, authentic, Chinese owned, Thai owned). I've been to Vietnam. I've been going to this place since it opened. Now it is with new Chinese ownership or management. How do I know that ? They greet me in Mandarin. I can say with conviction that the pho broth here absolutely sucked and is of poor quality with no flavor. The instant pho bowls from Costco has more authentic pho flavor than here. The pho bowls are $12-14(at the time of posting) and isn't badly priced at first. The Pho Dac Biet has minimal amount of tripe and has no tendons. The fried spring rolls here are ok, not bad and meaty. Uses an old school rice wrap instead of the wonton wraps. I wouldn't come here again. And it's sad to see this place go down in (food) quality. Service was fine and had no issue.
Never ever order lunch special. Is a joke. The portion are like for kids menu not even. And for the price of almost $10 (tax included). The food tasted stale specially the chicken wings (refrigerator taste). Horrible.
The quality of food goes down throughout the years i visit. I am Vietnamese and this is so very disappointing.
