I've been waiting to try this place since they opened. It was well worth the wait. The food was excellent I had a pound of snow crab legs they were excellent it practically fell right out of the shell. The service was also top notch. More people need come and try this place.
Food was amazing! We had onion rings, Cajun fries and the Combo C. Our waiter Khalifa was exceptional! He provided such a warm and friendly atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back.
The restaurant is clean and the food, shrimp hibachi and snow crab was excellent. The fried rice also tasted great, flavored just right and not greasy. Finally, the waiter Khalifa was attentive and very nice. We will definitely be coming back.
This place was amazing!!! The beach projections are amazingly beautiful and the staff were so nice! Although our food was pretty fast it was good! The seafood boil bag was what I got. All of the prices are very cheap!! 5/5 stars recommended!
The service was well, my waitress was very helpful and sweet. The atmosphere was nice to look at while we were eating. I would recommend coming here.
I come here once a week, always served by Ashley. I’ve never been disappointed. Nick makes magnificent drinks, tried The Mighty Volcano today for the first time. YOU NEED THIS BEVERAGE. Always coming back for the atmosphere, food, and my favorite server Ashley!!
Fantastic seafood boils . Ask for extra spicy and extra sauce with Cajun flavoring- to die for! Every single time I’ve gotten from here.. the best!
The restaurants atmosphere is calming and the seaside decor was a great touch to the type of restaurant. The food was delicious, my husband had the “choose your seafood” and was very satisfied by his choice of crab and crawfish. He had mentioned the sauce was absolutely delicious, Cajun with half garlic butter sauce. I had the PO Boy chicken sandwich which was nice and crispy and the Cajun fries were great as well. Oh and ladies the Victoria Secret drink was delicious!!
Omg went for my birthday and dont regret it at all. The food is amazing gives a southern taste 👅. The customer service is very good. And most of the prices is amazing. You’ll get exactly what ur paying for. Highly recommend
The food was very good. The wait staff were friendly and attentive. Drinks were great and happy hour price can't be beat! Prices are very fair. Will definitely be back!
The restaurant has a great atmosphere for customers to enjoy their food. We came in on a Saturday night that had a DJ playing top mainstream songs by the bar. The dishes we ordered were delicious. We had the option that allowed you to create your own seafood bag combo and the lobster/chicken combo hibachi style.
Dining in The Mighty Crab was a great experience. Our waiter Nick was very attentive to our needs as well as questions since it was our first time dining here. The seafood boil has great flavor and the portion size was sufficient for my husband and I to share. The atmosphere was very fun and nautical themed. The music was great.
Everything was amazingly absolutely beautiful the food delicious even tho I was choking but that was my fault 🤣😍😋💖
The atmosphere was welcoming. It wasn't busy so we sat down and got our food swifty. Had a great experience especially since it's attached to the mall, we were able to walk the mall afterwards.
The Mighty Crab in Staten Island is a seafood lover's paradise! From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The menu offers a wide variety of fresh seafood dishes that are bursting with flavor. The crab legs are a must-try, perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring a top-notch dining experience. I highly recommend The Mighty Crab for anyone looking for delicious seafood in a welcoming environment.
Food was so delicious like really really good ! I went on a Monday around 12 it was empty they have a lunch special and daily special which I feel makes them a little more affordable than other places . The décor is so cool it’s really well decorated . I had a fruit punch I didn’t realize they mix it, it was also really tasty . I like that they have specials and you can add other sea food to it to customize. It’s a little pricy but still pretty good for sea food . The funnel cake was also yummy . Definitely my new favorite spot . Our waitress was very attentive always refilling our drinks in a timely fashion and packed our left overs for us .
This place is amazing ! Since the first day me and my wife tried them out they have been so nice to us . They heard it was our first time and gave us free drinks. The food was so good we came back the very next day, we now come at least once a month. I recommend to anyone who likes sea food but they also have great hibachi, food is always fresh and delicious. Two thumbs up. The guy Nick at the front counter is the best and has the best customer service.
Originally from Staten Island but moves to Jersey. Came back to the island to celebrate my son's Bday. We wanted some good seafood so we took a chance and decided to dine at this establishment. I'm glad we did...From the entrance to the exit everything was top notch. Details Details Details.. Our server Alexis was AMAZING...Very attentive and helpful to the choices on the menu. Her warm and pleasant attitude made it comfortable to sit back and enjoy our dinner...She bought out our dinner quickly and made sure that it was exactly what we wanted...She was a pleasure. At the end she bought out a petite slice of cheese cake with Graham cracker crust and a strawberry topping. She was a HIT....with her "Happy Birthday" song to my son....What else could you ask for...Food---Great service and a Song ...We will be back. "THANK YOU ALEXIS
I really loved this place. They had great drinks, absolutely amazing food, great dessert. Our server was Alexis she was such a gem she made everything so easy and her service was 10/10. I will definitely come back here when I'm in Staten Island.
My wife & I went there on 3/19/24 for my birthday. We was welcomed in and had best seats, they even sang happy birthday to me without even asking for it and it came lit up with a cheese cake. The Most Best Part of the dinning was the waitress - SANNY- she is the best!! i recommend her, she was very on top of our needs and drinks and positive:-)
I Loved The Place. Their food is very extravagant. I loved it. It was a totally new experience. They provide me with absolutely everything I need to eat. I would recommend the place 100%,It has a unique flavor that I hadn't tried before. The food is very fresh and the service is excellent.
First time eating at this restaurant. I love seafood boil and was very happy with my stay here. The breaded chicken wings were very tender and flavorful and the actual seafood boil was great too. My batch had shrimp, black mussels and a few add ins and I was satisfied with everything I ate.
Great food and awesome atmosphere!! The happy hour offers 3$ beer, who has that in this economy!? They have really good food and our server Tiffany was extremely helpful when ordering and we we always got a refill without even asking! Definitely coming back
Excellent!!!! I came after Easter service. The service was top notch. Alexis was an absolute joy. Her personality and class was sublime. The food was excellent. My granddaughter and my aunt were totally in heaven. Thank you Alexis. We will be back.
Excellent, authentic seafood boils. Head and shoulders better than hook and reel. The wings here are shockingly good and lunch specials really are an unbeatable value. It's a wonder how applebee's keeps their doors open, right next door Nick is an excellent bartender and can mix up just about anything
Hesitant at first cause ive tried so many seafood boil spots but this place didnt dissappoint! Snow crab legs were great, clams were great, crawfish was good size, and shrimp (head-on) was very fresh. Shrimp was my favorite thing. Noodles was a great way to end the meal! Only "negative" thing was the corn was too soggy like it had been sitting for too long. Overall 100% recommend!
This was my first experience with the Mighty Crab and I was pleased with the food and service! I was hesitant going to eat there and I'm glad I did because I really enjoyed it. The corn on the Cobb was so good I ordered another side (3 pc.) order! We went on a Monday and they were empty....we are going back in a few days because it's the perfect lent supper!
First time coming in and the food was fresh and the service was amazing . I most definitely will be coming back !
Absolutely delicious seafood flavors and crab! This location is in the mall with its own entrance to the outside. Very clean and artistically decorated with an ocean theme and decor. There's a giant wall screen for projector viewing and windows to see the mall traffic. There are plenty of tables covered with paper you can draw on or dispose of - great for families with small children to color. The menu prices were affordable and right in line, if not better than similar restaurants offering seafood options. We ordered the kids chicken tenders, nuggets, fries, Shirley temples, lemonade, crab legs shrimp combo, and catfish. Everything was perfectly seasoned, hot, and tasted fresh. We also tried their molten chocolate cake with whipped cream and chocolate syrup. 😋 Our server was attentive and helpful. And our party of five fit comfortably in the round booth. Definitely recommend trying the Mighty Crab Staten Island.
Came here for the first time, and it did not disappoint! We ordered vegetable fried rice (hibachi style), alligator bites, and the weekend special with half Cajun and butter garlic sauce. We added clams and an extra half pound of snow crab. Cheesecake with strawberry sauce for dessert. So good! If you’re a shellfish lover, you gotta check it out! This was enough for +3 people!
Went for my bithday during lunch hours, love the enviroment with all the decorations and lights, music was great! Food was tasty, i was surprised there wasnt any pasta with sea food, portions were appropriate. they sang for my bday , loved it. The only feedback i would give was that it was to cold, made our dishes cold quickly. Other then that, we had a great experience ,will be returning.
Atmosphere is so cute, transports you away for a time. Delicious drinks. Food was great, best boil bag I’ve had on the island hands down. Location is a little hard to find but the food and wait staff make up for this. We had Ashley, what a complete sweetheart. Didn’t miss a thing and never had to ask her for anything extra or a refill. Definitely will be coming back and asking for her!
We were pleasantly surprised by the restaurant's fresh seafood, allowing us to savor the natural flavors of the ocean. Our waitress was a true gem, providing exceptional service that made our visit all the more enjoyable. The cozy and inviting atmosphere was an unexpected delight, especially considering the location within a mall. We left feeling grateful for the wonderful experience and eager to return.
Hubby and I stopped for a quick bite to eat. We ordered the largest appetizer sampler to share which had soft shell crab, Cajun fries, crispy chicken wings, Fried fish and calamari. And we also ordered two soups. The clam Chowder and the seafood bisque. Here’s our thought. It was delicious for what seems to be a chain restaurant. Great seasoning and lots of flavor. We preferred the clam Chowder over the seafood bisque (which we found a little salty). The decor is fun and appropriate for a seafood restaurant! They have a large screen that looks like if you’re in an aquarium if you sit at that section. We were hungry and ate so fast I forgot to take pics of the food.! We will definitely be back to try other items on the menu! This is a good place for seafood lovers! Try it at least once! I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!
Part of me knows I should've gone w/ the scallop hibachi, but I was in the midst of recounting a conversation about po' boys & crawfish, so I went w/ that instead. Well, for the lower price, I can't complain too much! The only thing I'd switch out is mayonnaise over remoulade, but I didn't think to ask. Nice little place!
Food was great went with the family good music the lady kept checking in on us. We had about 8 people the atmosphere is cool as well! Would definitely go back and the hush puppies are amazing
The foods are good but the service are better. Love our waitress. Very polite and pretty. 😁👍
The mighty crab is a very cute place. Fish everywhere..literally. The place is huge. Comfortable seating. Fried calamari was very good. Batter was nice and crispy, hot, fresh and tender calamari. Popcorn shrimp were good. Standard. The breaded wings are so good! Juicy and flavorful. The seafood boil was good. I wish it was better. We had the garlic butter. Wasn’t very garlicky. Needed more, a tad more salt and maybe an herb. Cilantro or oregano. We ordered the naked shrimp and didn’t receive that. However, the seafood was cooked well. The potato tender and corn was sweet. You get plenty of food! We also tried the steak hibachi which was very tasty. I would recommend and I would return!
The Mighty Crab food is great but waiters and waitress hound you for tips opposed to including a gratuity in the price of your meal. I paid $145 for 3 of us to eat. After I paid, I was told the tip was not included in what I paid. I didn’t carry any cash on me since most restaurants include the gratuity in their pricing. I was very displeased with the fact that I wanted to substitute hard boiled eggs with another menu item (such as a vegetable) and I was told I could only substitute the egg for a potato. I’m diabetic so to be forced to eat a starch to substitute for the egg was not exemplary service and tips should be reserved for exemplary service (meaning: you get exactly what you want) in my opinion. Paying for your food is mandatory- the tip is not. A tip is given if you believe you had an exemplary experience through food AND service and in this case I didn’t feel that way. The food was great but the service was not. Another thing: the waiters and waitresses at The Mighty Crab assume people have money to tip. Everyone has different circumstances; therefore, hounding people for tips when they may only have just enough to pay for their food should be taken into consideration. When you take on a job as a waiter or waitress you should not assume you will get tipped by every single customer. And ask the customers how they feel about the service before assuming you deserve a tip.
It was an enjoyable experience. Happy hour is actually 6 hours long and those drinks are $6 each. They were good, not the strongest but not weak. For $6 it was good. The food itself was tasty, the lobster tail was a bit overdone for me but the garlic butter sauce they had in the boil bag had good flavor. They had a $5 coupon at the door and the server gladly honored it. I paid $45 in total(with tax and tip) and I had 2 drinks, 1 boil bag with 1/2lbs mussels and 1 lobster tail, a corn cob, and 2 potatoes. The decor and ambiance was nice. Nothing to really rave about but since I went for lunch around 2pm it was quiet and not crowded so I really got to enjoy it. I'd recommend if at the mall and looking to enjoy a meal and some drinks during happy hour.
I have to say they serve delicious seafood boils and the sweet potato’s fries are the best in my opinion. The waiters are always very helpful and polite and it’s a calm place to enjoy a meal. The only downside is the bathrooms I think they can use a remodeling and better lighting and also cleaning needs to improve
Great place. I was there for happy hour and two roaches came across the bar. Brought attention to the girl working there. Didn't seem to care too much. Haven't been back sonce..although drinks at happy hour were reasonable and Excellent.
What a cute, fun , colorful place. And I am amazed how good the customer service was. The food was great; I tried their vargin Pina colada, fried cheese steaks. Yum! I will definitely come back to try their actual food. It was just a quick visit & I am so glad I find this gem! They even volunteered to take my pictures & you all know me can't miss that chance ! If you guys are in Staten Island mall then this is a place you gotta come & try their food! It's near JC penny & Applebees !
Went for lunch on a Saturday, there was no wait for a table. Service was quick, and the drink menu (full bar) is pretty extensive. Food was pretty good, and the frosted mug for my beer was nice. A few negatives: The music, it felt like I was at a rave (with the blinking lights) and not a beach/dock theme seaside joint. Change that music to Reggae, Jimmy Buffet, and some surf toons and you'll forget your on Staten Island. Second: Sticky check presenters, the little folder with your bill in it. That was a real turn off; considering most of the food items were just picked up with your fingers, and now your touching something that someones dirty hands just held. Which brings me to three: no wet naps. That would've been nice, and maybe help cut down on the stickyness. And lastly, number 4: Che Guevara on a license plate (look up to find it). There's nothing cute about displaying the image of a mass murderer on a restaurant wall. Maybe it's cool in Cuba, or Russia, but not here. It's not relevant to the theme. Are we trying to say fried oysters and sea food boils are revolutionary? Anyone who disagrees will be dealt with severly! Nope, we are not. Replace that with a license plate from Bermuda, Bahama, or any Gulf State in the U.S. and it will fit the decor much better. I liked it, my co-diner liked it, and we will probably eat there again. ¡Viva la ostras fritas comrades y mis amigos/amigas!
The food was at best average. I ordered fried calamari which was dry and reheated. The scallop order for two was barely enough for one. Upon ordering drinks before the meal and an additional during the meal. I had to request water as none were put out for 3 people who were eating. Eating out today is expensive and wouldn't eat at this restaurant again. It's what I call a one and done. I love exploring new places to eat at and was interested in giving this place a try.
Fantastic food. Not too salty. Cajun spicy was definitely the way to go. Lobster and shrimps were great. Crab came out the shell real easy. Mac & cheese cheap but decent. Only mildly negative was the server disappearing after we finished so it took forever to grab the bill.
Even though they close at 10pm don’t even think about dinning in pass 8:45. It has happened twice where we get there and they seems so hesitant about sitting us and continuously ask if we want take out instead and that reminds us that kitchen closes 9:15. So what time do they really close because it seems like they are ready to leave before 10
Unfortunately I was served spoiled crab. I ordered a crab boil for me and my friend. Started eating then smelled a strong chemical smell, like nail polish remover. I googled it and it explained that spoiled crab gives off an acetone smell. The manager comped the meal $8. But I got sick and tried calling 3 times 3 different days each time but the manager wasnt in. Im requesting a full refund because after leaving I got sick and had to throw everything out to be safe. I still have the receipt and hope the restaurant reaches out soon to resolve this.
I ordered dungeon crab and clam boil. Just garlic butter 🧈. I was very disappointed. The bag was water with a slight butter to it no garlic. And the wrong 🦀. I payed a whopping 75.00 for 2 ppl. There was no flavor at all. I do NOT recommend this place if your a true seafood lover like me.
I went here yesterday Sunday June 12th. It looks like a chain restaurant but I don't think it is. My guess is it is Asian owned because every staff member was Asian except one and although the menu and the atmosphere looked like a chain restaurant, they did not have the organization and polish one would expect. The first major complaint was the restaurant was hot, not sure if they were having issues with their AC but it was getting worse and by the time we left I couldn't wait to leave because I was sweating so much. The food is the bright spot here, it's good, but not something I would say I need to go back for, it was just good but far from great. The waitress seemed so stressed which made her seem unfriendly, but I think that's a cultural thing, I don't thing it was intentional, but I know many Asian friends are not the warm and fuzzy type and if I didn't know this, I would think she was rude, but she really wasn't. Her service was good but definitely not the type of waitress I enjoy when I went a enjoyable day out to eat, she was very robotic and had no small talk or friendliness, but I could tell she was trying. For the record I noticed she was also sweating, so I understand. It was hot. This was our first time here and most likely my last. The price was very reasonable, so if you want deadpan service, with decent food, you may want to give it a shot.
BAD RESTAURANT! A week ago I ordered RAW oysters but when it arrived it tasted like water with a weird smell and stinky ocean taste. Normal raw oysters would have a fresh taste, but ours didn't. It tasted too bad to finish so we didnt finish it all. I complained it tasted weird and non fresh so they apologized but they gave us the check without a void for the oysters. We went complained it again and they end up only gave us a 10% discount which is less than the cost of the oysters. One of the waitress then told us that the chef was new, and instead of using fresh raw oysters, they "accidentally" defrosted the frozen ones to served us. I didn't think much of it for 2 days until my daughter told me she started having a stomach ache and headache. Turns out a few days later my daughter and I had a stomach virus after eating it and my daughter didn't go to school for a few days due to the "raw" oysters. I strongly suggest you not come to this restaurant if you don't want to take your health at this risk.
Unfortunately I would not visit this location again after taking a bite into plastic the size of broken glass. Once I realized I had a foreign object in my mouth I removed it and called the waitress. Thankfully she was very pleasant and apologetic. However, my Mac-n-cheese was full of broken pieces of this “plastic “. Luckily I did not swallow it. Be cautious!!!
If I can give negative stars I would. I am a city worker in unfamiliar territory and wanted to try out a new location for food. Not sure if she was the owner of the location but came in to place an order and also quickly use the bathroom. The amount of disgust and judgment I received from this Asian lady was distasteful. I asked her if the weekend was busy seeing that it is valentines day weekend so that I could bring my lady but the response and tone of hate/disgust I received was like "You're Not welcome." From the point of sale - taking my credit card and just threw my credit card down. Then to finally receive my food - she didn't even want to even hand me the bag like she didn't want to accidentally touch me or something. If you dont like you're job - just quit, no one individual should have to deal with your nasty service. I dont think I deserved this treatment as I am kind and respectful to everyone, but as a business owner - customer service is your first job and to treat everyone equally. Have a blessed day and I do hope this teaches your business to operate more professionally.
Food took an hour to arrive and other guest that came after us got fed . The waiter was nice but you can tell what he didn’t know what he was doing . My drink arrived 20 minutes after being there and was not provided with plastic ware instead of silver wear
This place is closed for renovations and they aren't letting the public know. I went and had to find out.
My server was AMAZING!! But my bill was initially $90 and the owner sent me another bill for $130!!! Stating that all of the drinks my family and I had during happy hour weren’t charged properly. They weren’t on sale because they had an event!! I was already charged, the bill was printed, my card had been taken for payment, and I was given a new bill with the happy hour discounts revoked. As a person with a masters degree in business I know this is not how a business should operate and I will be reporting this restaurant for the unprofessional conduct on the part of the owner/manager. I didn’t mind the price but you can not offer a discount to a customer and take it back at your leisure. Please don’t go there if you want to be treated like a customer and with respect. I will never return and I had already visited several times; a faithful customer was lost tonight.
I'm only giving 1 star of I could give negative stars I would this place has been closed for months as everything says it's open still.. I went for. My bday last Jan 18th and was let down because the place was closed just from that I will probably never try the place if they ever open up again. I also went by today to give it one more chance. And it's still closed as everything says it's open
The food was awful, very bland and no flavor to it. Not only the food was awful, my friend and I went to eat at this place after school to eat, once we finished up eating my friend and I were getting ready to split the bill. We are splitting the tip and as were deciding on how much we should give her the waiter had the audacity to come over to our table and say “where’s my tip” mind you no waiter is supposed to ever ask that question to no one. We gave her a $12 dollar tip and she took advantage of my friend and I by getting additional $12 more money over because I didn’t know this but where it says tip on the receipt I accidentally put the amount I was giving her without knowing you put cash. And since we’re young she took advantage and didn’t say anything to us or even check up with us, she got a $24 tip and took advantage. All of you guys please pay attention to the receipt no matter where you go and don’t let no one take advantage of be rude.
