Really nice spot and h8ghly recommended. I enjoyed it. Great service and quality.
I’ve been wanting to try this restaurant for a while and made reservations for their Mother’s Day brunch. We got here at 12:45 and it’s now 4:00pm and we’re still here. I know a few people had some issues today with the Mother’s Day madness that restaurants usually face but we didn’t have that experience! I love love love the staff ! Everybody who serviced us in anyway was amazing and very apologetic for weight (thank you Ashley for being so sweet you were amazing!) The food was great the drinks were amazing ! Our waiter Kevin was so attentive and the absolute BEST! We let him pick everything from our drinks to our entrees (he did not fail us!) 10 10 10 across the board ! This was a great experience and we will definitely be back to visit our Violette’s Celler’s family. Thanks for making Mother’s Day special for us !
10/10 recommend! My first visit was for brunch/1st date. Confided in the hostess, who sweetly put everyone on. Felt cared for from start to finish, and in between the date wasn't too shabby (going on a 2nd)! Our waitress June was the spotlight amongst so many shining stars!! Can't wait to return for dinner...
Great food! Good sharing portions for smaller dishes. Drinks were amazing! Waitstaff and manager were responsive and kind. Handled billing issue with professionalism and respect. Thank you for your service and highly recommend.
Enjoyed brunch here the other day. Amazing service, extremely attentive. I loved how the bartender came over to make sure that the drink he had to alter for my pregnant self was to my liking since he had never made so many changes to it before (decaf and non alcoholic .. I probably should have picked another drink but I'm grateful he was able to adjust it). The food was great. My friend and I split an order of chicken pot pie empanadas and a prosciutto flatbread as well as a side of bacon and they were all great! We got a quick tour of all the rooms and loved the different themes to them. I would absolutely go back for a meal and would consider them for an event.
This place has been on our radar and decided to try it out on a Monday night. For a while we were the only folks in the dining room, staff were kind, attentive, and informative without being overwhelming. I’d say an appropriate amount of “touching the tables”, including the sweet floor manager. Food was excellent. Keep in mind it’s not a budget restaurant and it’s more upscale. The food is worth the price. Very savory. We’re looking forward to coming back. They have valet parking only so it seemed, we parked on the street.
Been a while since I’ve been back here and I must say, the food is spectacular, service is immaculate and the drinks were out of this world. Thank you Matt for taking the time to care for us ladies and giving us your best service and attention. Thank you Zack the bartender for the amazing drinks and coming to our table. Experience was flawless here and I can’t wait to come back!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Had a wonderful dining experience at Violette’s! The food was exceptional — we tried the pork belly, capellini, and skirt steak, and everything was cooked to perfection with flavors that really stood out. We finished off with some coffee, which was the perfect ending to the meal. What truly made the experience memorable, though, was our server, Kevin. He was incredibly personable and welcoming, making us feel like we were visiting a friend rather than just another restaurant. His attentive and friendly service really added to the overall ambiance and made us want to come back again soon. Highly recommend Violette’s for the delicious food and top-notch service!
Fantastic spot! We just stopped by for a couple drinks, but we got to try the fresh croissants too and they were fantastic. The brunch menu looked awesome, we’d definitely be back to try it. Cocktails were delicious and David, the bartender was super helpful and friendly. He even took the time to show us around. We had a wonderful experience here and will definitely be back when we’re in town again.
Violette's Cellar is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly by the delightful hostess, Rosalia, whose friendly and welcoming demeanor set the tone for a perfect dining experience. Our server, John, was exceptional—attentive, knowledgeable, and truly passionate about ensuring our meal was nothing short of amazing. The food was a masterpiece, bursting with flavor and beautifully presented, leaving us savoring every bite. To top it off, Zack, the manager, made a point to personally check in on our table, demonstrating a level of professionalism and care that truly elevated the experience. Violette's Cellar delivers on every level—fantastic food, outstanding service, and a genuinely inviting atmosphere. Highly recommended! When you decide to go, please get the lobster risotto, seafood tower, and/or the steak for two. Trust me, you will not be disappointed!!!
EDIT: I’d like to thank Violette’s for listening to customer feedback and working to rectify things. I was reached out to and given some context over that particular day and they’ve made steps to correct it. I ultimately feel in retrospect that this was a rare experience and look forward to coming back here. From my other experiences here, the food is excellent (arguably on par with Michelin Star restaurants I’ve been to) and my service has typically been great. There’s one waitress we always get who’s always very attentive and this has become one of my favorite spots, especially since I don’t need to drive into heavy traffic to come here. OLD REVIEW: I usually come here pretty frequently and have almost never had a bad experience but today had to be the worst experience I’ve received. I went for Brunch and got seated upon walking in. However, we sat down for about 20 minutes without any waiter coming over to take our order. There was one waitress from another table who came by to give us water and she was fine, but we did not get any service at all. I ended up leaving afterward since at this point if just ordering my food is going to take this long then everything else will be too. I’m severely disappointed.
The entire experience from the time we arrived at the restaurant, the service, the entire meal was splendid. We originally booked a different restaurant but changed our mind and booked Violette’s Cellar @ open table for 6:45 pm seating . We ordered the pear salad, Tomahawk steak for 2 and the lobster cavatelli, the food was absolutely delicious !!! The dessert menu was very tempting but we no longer have room for it. Our experience at this restaurant was nothing short of outstanding.
I went for a wedding in the cellar. The atmosphere was amazing. The decor was beautiful and perfect. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious. This was my first time there. I will definitely return. I recommend this place 1000% Again, I went for a wedding, so I'm unsure about the prices, but if the $$ is within your budget, then go, you will not regret it.
My wife and I love the atmosphere, food and drinks are fantastic. Our experience is elevated every single time by Kevin, who is usually our bartender, server and everything in between. He is absolutely incredible at his job and the level of service provided is unmatched. You can tell how much he loves his job, and it shows through. He really makes you feel special, and is the reason we keep coming back. Keep up the good work Kevin!
Beautiful, elegant place. Great to go with groups. Good, creative food choices. My steak was cooked to perfection. We didn't like the french toast with unicorn dust, it tasted like churros ( not a bad thing) but had too much granulated sugar; sugar powder would have been better.
Their food is great and the atmosphere is so pretty.
Visited on Saturday for ny second year wedding anniversary. The place was buzzing so the atmosphere was fab. A good mix of people really lovely to see. The menus are vast so they take a minute to go through. There’s options for every taste. We opted for the lamb chops with chimmichuri sauce. They were excellent. 4 small tender juicy chops. About 8 bites total with an emerald green emulsion that burst on the tongue. My husband opted for the shrimp cocktail which was 4 fat shrimp tail on. He said they were great. We both got the bottomless drinks as if you buy more than 2 drinks each it’s well worth opting for the 90min bottomless drinks. Mimosas, Bloody Mary and champagne sangria all very good. We didn’t really feel like anything else to eat. The appetisers were enough as we weren’t too hungry. The bill with tax and tip was 130 and we stayed around 2 hours. Very happy. Our second visit and we will be back for a third.
We had my daughter’s Communion party here. Everything was amazing! The service, the food, the atmosphere…absolutely amazing! Update: had dinner at Violette’s tonight. I had to update my review to add that our server Matt was absolutely amazing; such a good vibe and made the dining experience more enjoyable with how personable he was. His demeanor matches the excellence of this restaurant and the food was, as always, perfect.
Everything about this place was fantastic! We have been wanting to go here for years and just never had the time for some reason or another. What a mistake! Don't wait to go here! The food, the service, the atmosphere ... everything was beautiful! You won't regret it!
Every bite was excellent!! I had the French onion omelette, patatas bravas, coconut latte… brunch (all exceptional)! We were Immediately seated and serviced; then greeted by the maitre’d. The atmosphere was intimate and classy.
Came here for the first time for brunch with my girlfriend's. Such a gorgeous place! We were seated in this little room off of the entrance that was perfect for a party of 6 people. It was nice to have our own little private get together. The food is excellent! I tried the Cookie Butter Pancakes & the Adult Iced Coffees. Highly recommend coming here!! Great brunch spot. They also have a cute little photo booth! So fun. Will definitely be back.
I’m not going to lie I was a bit nervous not knowing what to expect, I booked the wine cellar for my girl friends birthday and everything was absolutely amazing, our waiter Kevin was such a sweetheart and so welcoming, the food was perfect and the privacy with our family was great, this is a must try restaurant, I posted a few pictures below enjoy.
If I could give the service a 10 I would! I've been served by Matthew a few times and I keep going back to see him! The food is always wonderful and the drinks are chef kiss strong!
We recently celebrated our birthdays by doing the Chef's Tasting Menu. It blew us away! The food was so delicious and the service just as good. Loved the private intimate candle lit room. We were impressed that Chef Peter Botros came to us with each tasting and spoke to us. Such a great experience. Well worth the money!
I went on Valentine’s Day with my girlfriend food and service.was great. My server Mike and the whole staff were great and have great customer service .
Fine dining at its best! Restaurant prices are out of control, but when you eat in a establishment that creates dishes that are exceptional as Violets Cellar you don't mind paying as much, because it's worth it. The ambiance was beautiful, the service outstanding and the food on the brunch menu was memorable. Every bite of the special zucchini pasta was to die for. My palates were doing a happy dance. Waffle and chicken on our table was also good especially the corn batter waffles very savory, fluffy and crispy. Let me not forget the drinks which were beautiful to admire, and delightful. I sipped my drink slowly to be able to enjoy every flavors that were in my margarita. For the finale I had the tiramisu which was one of the best I've had in SI. Everyone else on my table were very content with their dish. On our way out the Host was a delight and he gave us a tour of this fine establishment. This will be my monthly get together with my friends.
I recently celebrated a Bridal Shower here and the entire experience was amazing. The food and the atmosphere were incredible, but the service was truly exceptional. One host/ server in particular named Franco went above and beyond and I cannot thank him enough. Overall we had an amazing time and cannot wait to return.
Awesome brunch. I have been here multiple times and every time it is great.
Food and Drinks were great! Very nice place & they have good music.
This is by far the best restaurant on the island! Went for my anniversary today and the service was spectacular. Everything came out quick and everyone was friendly. Our server, Matt, went above and beyond for us! The food itself was delicious and you can tell every single ingredient used is fresh and high quality. I can’t wait to be back!
My wife and I went out for a dinner date without our son and we loved it! The ambiance. The menu. The service. Everything was excellent. A fine dining experience. Perfect for couples or a date night, I'd leave the kids at home. Has a City feel to it. We have driven past a million times and never gave it a thought, but we're glad we did tonight. Recommended by both of us.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ From the moment we walked into Violette’s Cellar, we were completely captivated. The ambiance strikes the perfect balance between elegant and cozy dim lighting, you really feel as if you are in a cellar! As well as rich textures, and a welcoming energy that sets the tone for a memorable night out. The food was nothing short of phenomenal. Every dish we ordered was thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor. You can truly taste the quality and creativity behind the menu. But what truly elevated our experience was the service. Our server, Matt, was exceptional attentive without being overbearing, incredibly knowledgeable, and genuinely warm. He made us feel like we were his top priority, and his recommendations were spot on. Whether you’re celebrating something special or just want an unforgettable meal, Violette’s Cellar is a must-visit. We’ll absolutely be back and we’ll be asking for Matt!
The food was absolutely delicious; I ate twice just to make sure my tastebuds were not playing tricks on me. The drinks are soo good and the fact you have different options of water ahh refreshing. It’s affordable and better than any chain restaurant you’ve been going too. The service was exceptional as well from the greeter to the waiter thank you.
Great ambiance, decor and delicious food! Reminds me of a trendy NYC restaurant but more moderately priced.
We love Violette's, always delicious food and perfect atmosphere. Whomever we take here, loves this place!
I had a dinner for my tax business here in the wine room at Violette’s Cellar. From the moment you walk in the place has a vibe that is rare when eating out on Staten Island. On top of that the drink special was great and the food was some of the best I’ve had in general let alone on Staten Island. Our waiter was great I wish I could remember his name because I would shout him out. We ate like kings & queens and our drinks never went empty. Will be back, for sure. Shout out to Chef Botros on another great dining experience.
We each ordered different dishes, shared, and all loved everything! The french toast, cookie butter pancakes, mini croissants, and the egg dishes were incredible (11/10) but the chicken and waffles were extra yummy (12/10)! Last but not least, our waiter was so nice and funny! Would definitely recommend.
This place is bar-none the best brunch spot, doing justice to the rest of the esteemed restraunt group that it is part of. Its crew of John, Matt, David, Zach, and all others clearly take a special concerted effort for each visit and event I can not recommend this place enough for an elevated culinary experience, done right
This place is by far my favorite restaurant on the island. Beautiful atmosphere and amazing food. Second time I’ve been here, first time was last month and I’ve been craving their food since then ! Stephanie makes an amazing espresso martini, creamy and foamy at the top just perfect. Along side her amazing customer service considering my friend and I have been coming after work which is kind of on the later side, we are still greeted with the best customer service as she makes sure we have a great dinner thank you Stephanie ! And thank you to the manager Edison for the amazing hospitality, as I stated the second time I have been here and he has always checked in making sure we are happy and even makes great recommendations on some of the great plates that they offer ! I went with the skirt steak this time and their creamy mashed potatoes. Definitely a staple, can’t wait to be back !
My husband took me to Violette’s Restaurant for our Valentine’s Day dinner, and it was such a wonderful experience from start to finish. Our waiter, Michael, was amazing — friendly, informative, and personable. He truly made our first visit so special. We started with the steak skewer appetizers, which were delicious. Michael recommended the lobster tail prepared oreganato style — something we had never tried before — and it was absolutely incredible! We will definitely be ordering that again and highly recommend it. The calamari was perfectly crispy with great flavor, and we also enjoyed the fried shrimp and the Asian-style salad, which I loved. The ambiance and décor are perfect. I especially loved the wine/speakeasy theme — it created such a romantic and intimate atmosphere for Valentine’s Day. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. We will definitely be back! ❤️🍷
The food was absolutely fantastic; every dish was bursting with flavor and made with fresh ingredients. The service was generally good, though there were a few moments where we had to wait a bit longer for our drinks. The atmosphere was charming and cozy, perfect for a relaxed meal. Overall, I highly recommend Violette's for a delightful dining experience, and I look forward to returning to try more from the menu!
This was our second time there, but this time for valentine day and it was awesome, our server jenn was awesome and very attentive even with the place being so busy. The managers and everyone else made sure each table was good, the food was amazing, we had the tuna as an appetizer, my fiancée she had the filet mignon and tiramisu which was so good and i had the cheese cake and lobster which was so good. Definitely going back again
We have been dining here for about 4 years since moving to Staten Island. One of our favorites it is beautiful low key cozy vibes great bar service and cocktails. The food is always consistent and delicious; fried shrimp appetizer is a must so delicious all of the salads are great my fave skirt steak and the spicy rigatoni pasta are the best we’ve also tried the chateaubriand for two and it was perfect 🤩
My girlfriend and I decided to dine at Violette's last night for an early Valentine's Day dinner. As we have been in the past, we were extremely satisfied with our experience. We've been coming here since it was La Botte and have always enjoyed the attentive service and delicious food. As a starter, we opted for the Focaccia and it was heavenly. The dipping sauces were exquisite and the bread delicious. For an entree, we opted for the Tomahawk steak for two and it was bursting with flavor. Cooked perfectly and sliced well, it's hard to beat and complimented our wine selection perfectly. Our very polite and attentive waiter, John, offered to decant the wine (which I would recommend to anyone else who appreciates the steak/wine pairing). The zucchini side was delicious, the roasted cauliflower underwhelming but passable. For dessert, we chose the warm chocolate cake and it was positively delightful. Overall, Violettes delivered as it usually does and we'll be back. The check was a bit high, but you get what you pay for and it was worth every penny!
Came in for brunch and ordered the steak and eggs with potatoes and it exceeded expectations across the board. The steak was cooked perfectly, tender and full of flavor, and the potatoes were seasoned just right and cooked exactly how they should be. Everything came out hot, fresh, and clearly made with care. The service deserves special recognition. Attentive, polished, and genuinely welcoming from the moment we walked in. You can feel that this place takes pride in both their food and their hospitality, which is rare these days. This is how brunch should be done. Quality ingredients, solid execution, and service that makes you want to come back. Outstanding experience and easily a repeat spot.
Phenomenal food, drinks, and service! I had the short rib cavatelli and it was by far the best pasta dish I have ever eaten. (I am not one easily impressed by pastas!) Service was impeccable. I wanted one of their cocktails, but without some of the ingredients. They mixed one of the best orange vodka drinks that I could have easily drank all night long. Will definitely be back next trip to Staten Island!
Just had an event for 50 people with band, DJ and 360 using the beautiful Tosca room and they made sure everything was perfect. Both food and staff were amazing and made for a very special night celebrating my husbands birthday. Will definitely book again for future events. Great communication. Thank you Marie
My sister took me here for my birthday dinner. I loved every moment. The hostess was pleasant and kind. We requested a different table (due to a disability) and they immediately led us to our requested table. The staff were knowledgable. They were happy to answer our questions and give recommendations, as well as clarification on anything. The drinks were very pleasing and the variety was appreciated. As for the food. It was just amazing. I’ve dined in a lot of nice places and this food was far above par. We ordered lamb chops, steak and seafood and each was done exactly right. The flavors were on point. Dessert was delicious. They even sang for my birthday (at only my sisters request). All in all, everything I could have hoped for. 5/5 would recommend!
We had our daughterx-in-law's Baby Shower here. The room was perfect, the food was great, and the staff was amazing. Matt is the best. He really did a great job overseeing the party. Everyone raved about the venue, and especially about the quality of the food. Several guests offered that it was the best Shower they had ever been to. Thank you for a great experience for everyone, but especially for our daughter-in-law!
Heard so many good things about Violette's and I'm so glad I finally had the chance to try it. The food was outstanding as was the service. Everyone was so welcoming and sweet. Definitely a place we'd return to.
Beautiful, cozy dining venu, great price point, delicious dining choices and excellent staff all made for another magnificent Anniversary Dinner at Violette’s. The restaurant presents a magnificent cocktail menu, as well as, an extensive wine list. We enjoyed the Chateaubriand for two, complete three types of mashed potatoes and four types of sauces! Exquisitely cooked to perfection, it is not to be missed. The desserts were uniquely delicious. The Violette’s staff, namely, June, Gulhan, Yuen, Jose and Tatiana are ultra professional and attend to every need. They are truly an asset to Violette’s. We enjoyed a most memorable evening at Violette’s.
I absolutely loved my experience at Violette's, this restaurant was stunning, there were so many rooms, a tasting room, a party room, dining room, the decor was beautiful and unique throughout the restaurant. The vibe was romantic and really felt like we were at a cellar. Loved the dimmed lightning and just sexy ambiance. Perfect place for date night. The menu had a nice variety, we went for the crispy shrimp which was absolutely amazing and I recommend 100%, the spicy flatbread and the pear salad were also delicious. My smoked old fashion was perfect ! This place gets a 10/10 and I can't wait to visit again when I'm in Staten Island.
We came to Violettes for my father-in-law’s birthday, and it was amazing from start to finish! We brought our own cake, and they brought it out with a candle, which made the celebration even more special. The food was incredible—fresh and flavorful. The Japanese eggplant flatbread was delicious, the spanakopita fingers were perfectly crispy, and the spicy rigatoni was outstanding. Honestly, everything we ordered was so good I’ve lost track of the full list. Our server (Matt, I think?) was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. I can’t recommend Violettes enough for a delicious meal and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
Went for Bruch on 12/29/24. Super Service - John was a hero and his teammates were helpful too which was a nice touch. Food was delicious--seriously (Philly Cheesestake (ribeye) with goatcheese and onion jam plus an over easy egg on top tasted even better than expected). We loved the vibe and didn't want to leave. Drinks were very tasty and unique. Thoroughly enjoyed ...Will definitely go again. Kudos to all.
Came here for a late brunch on a Sunday with a large group. Thankfully the staff was able to accommodate a huge table! I ordered an espresso martini and it was perfect. I also decided to go for the lobster Benedict, even though it was little pricey at $28. Once I got it I realized why, the plate had a whole tail. The sriracha hollandaise was a highlight for the dish. My boyfriend got the chicken and waffles and ate every last bite. The only feedback was that he preferred bone in chicken as opposed to tenders, but he still enjoyed it. I’m curious to check out the dinner menu.
The ambiance of the restaurant is very classy and elegant, providing a fine-dining experience with reasonably priced items! The selection is also very varied and they were almost all delicious! The truffled cream corn, lobster benedict, and burgers were all very delicious, with our favorite being the corn with its very potent and delicious truffle flavor! The specialized vacuum syphon coffee was also delicious and was enough for four medium sized cups, though it was made for four! The service was also impeccable with Mario and Kevin providing us with quick and considerate service with everything we requested! Our least favorite was the yuzu iced tea which was bitter and did not yield much yuzu flavor at all, so I definitely recommend increasing the yuzu concentration to make the drink more enjoyable! Overall we really want to come back soon to try their many other selections! We came for brunch and we can't wait to try their extensive dinner selection as well! Thank you for the amazing service! Thank you for reading and best of luck! (:
Went to Violettes Cellar on their opening night. It was an absolutely beautiful restaurant. The attention to detail was not lacking in any way. Decor was gorgeous with wine cork walls, exposed brick, industrial lighting and a touch of purple tones throughout all parts of the restaurant, party rooms and button room. The food was fantastic! Very well executed, described exactly as served on the menu and nicely presented. Had a chance to speak to the owner/chef and he seems to be a very nice person dedicated to the success of his restaurant that he clearly put a lot of thought and love into. I will definitely frequent Violette's Cellar as it is a gem in Staten Island and exactly what our little island needs. Don't forget to visit the speakeasy The Button Room! It brings you back in time to the 20's and is worth the experience!
Went on a Sunday for the 90 minute bottomless brunch, had a nice time! I ordered the violette's Benedict which was fantastic, my friend ordered the corn omelet which she really liked. Sangria was delicious, even the berries in it were good. Only complaint is seems they've got a new computer system in the kitchen that caused a delay to some things we asked for after the initial order (we had to ask a few times), but it all came eventually and staff was apologetic and eager to fix it. Overall, drinks were great, staff was friendly, bathroom was clean.
Food was delicious and hot and my meal was satisfying. I got the lamb chops and skirt steak that was complimented. The wine was way over priced but they gotta make there money somewhere. Our waiter have good suggestions and was kind and attentive. Had a great night. If it was BYOB that would have made it 100% but I'd say a worth it might it to spend a little more.
Went there for brunch today. The service was impeccable and we appreciate their Christmas decorations. The food could be better though like - it won’t hurt putting some green salad or fries with their signature Benedict eggs + it felt a bit bland overall with overcooked bacon. The staff was amazing and made up for it!
I visited for brunch on 1/25 and had a great time until I experienced an allergic reaction. Unfortunately, my server didn’t inform me that the same oil is used for both French fries and shellfish. To make matters worse, I didn’t receive an apology—she simply laughed it off. I highly recommend making it a priority for servers to ask guests about allergies or dietary restrictions. Despite this issue, the food and drinks were excellent, and I would love to return to try other options on the menu.
Very interesting menu. I had the empanadas and the steak, which was pretty good. My wife and kids had the fish and no one liked it. Overall the place is nice and unique
service was great. Things are on the saltier side when we went like the garganelli, but chili flakes fixes everything. Oysters were fresh and lobster crostini was so refreshing. Free bread we love that. Pear Salad was good. Drinks were good they have so many options! Lobster benedict was salty, charred octopus was salty, but the salad paired well with them both. Dessert was eh, bitter and burnt creme brûlée didn’t get it, cheesecake was... yah no. Would come back again I enjoyed this place! They actually cook.
Kevin is our server tonight. He’s amazing, excellent service! We love tonight’s special Sea bass with mushroom risotto. However, we were very disappointed because tomahawks steaks were sold out tonight, in a Saturday night… So make sure to call and ask if you are planning to go there for tomahawks.
For the prices of the steak you would think it was manhattan. Our steak did come on the colder end and the wine was not on time with it as we asked. The dessert was over all really good. Staff was friendly and we appreciated that. We will give it another try but maybe not order the steak. Over all a good 8/10 for Staten Island
Really enjoyed a Saturday brunch with family. Food was delicious and the service (June) team were on point. Really enjoyed the bloody Marys and pana cotta dessert. Would recommend and will return. Only ding might be the choice of background music accompaning brunch, was more suited for the evening vibe, but not at all a deterrent.
Tried the tasting menu and it’s not worth it for the price , might as well spend that exact same amount of money and go to a Michelin star in the city. The food was sub par, and short rib was really bad. Even the waygu was not even that good. The dessert could’ve been much better for the price paying as well It was nice that they were attentive even thou annoying that they kept asking how food was for every single course .
Horrible horrible and horrible. I just recieved my delivery from postmates. 3 small raviolis for $17, my soup was sent in two different containers, not prepared properly at all. Who sends broth and vegetables separately and basically says make your own soup? I called and Philip? I believe his name is, he said the owner is his father, says they only do small portions. This is not stated on the postmates app and they should so people will not complain or expect FULL meals. The customer service is horrible and I will never order from here again, you couldn't pay me. Put more details on the postmate app. Waste of money, time and energy.
I came on Sunday March 2nd for a party with more than 100 guests and more than 30% of the guest has reported with gastrointestinal symptoms, including my 5 year old son. A day after eating at Violette's my son was experiencing projectile vomiting- I end up taking my son the ER in worries that he was going to be suffering from dehydration and we needed medical support to help to suppress his vomiting. Our waitress (middle aged) wasn't the friendliest to my son and I. My son has a few allergens to foods, so the the host of the party let them know ahead of time but the waitress made me feel like she was pretty annoyed that he needed a different item that wasn't on the pre-fix menu. Also my entire table was never offered any drinks- when we asked for drinks she brushed us off and told us to ask another server, but there as no one else to ask because she was our tables server. We were lucky to have gotten water that was already poured out before we arrived. I understand that it was a busy event- but in the 4 hours of the party my entire table was never offered anything to drinks. The restaurant has a beautiful decor.. but will not be returning after my experience on Sunday.
UPDATE - MARCH 6, 2025 - I wouldn't touch this place with a 10 foot pole. More than 25% of our guests, myself included, became sick with fevers and/or gastrointestinal issues, including diarrhea and vomiting. I did not previously mention that we discovered a carton of moldy cream cheese placed on our table for the family style bread/bagel basket. I usually disregard and not mention small and hopefully isolated things like this because I know restaurant business is hard, but who knows what other unhygienic things happen behind closed doors? This experience has caused our family and friends so much physical and emotional pain. ------ Came here for my niece's 1 year old birthday party so we were in the private party room. I was somehow assuming that if you are hosting a kid's birthday party that you would be a restaurant that is kid-friendly. Boy, was I wrong. As a new mom to a now 4-month old, I do my best to be proactive and prepare for everything. We had the room booked for 4 hours. I am okay with knowing that the restaurant is not stroller accessible - fine, we can deal with that and carry the stroller up and down the stairs from the entrance, okay. BUT when you say you have a baby changing table, DO NOT give us the worst excuse of a table. The changing table was high above the open toilet and only in the women's restroom in only one of the stalls. There was no way I could change her when she was basically face-to-face with me and above my elbows. One wrong move, my baby would have ended up with her head in the toilet. Safety hazard. I was furious to be faced by such a ridiculous situation and not being able to offer my child a safe option to be comfortable at a child's birthday party. I had to change my baby in the corner of the party room in her own car seat and was faced with judgmental stares by the restaurant staff. Unbelievable. When you give me no options, I have to do what I have to do. There were multiple young children in our party and we all had to make do - we were there for 4 hours after all. It would have been nicer to not have any changing table than that one. You probably would have needed to be a 6-foot tall woman to use it. I even had to support my sister-in-law to change the birthday girl (the star of the party) because she was NOT about to be butt-naked in front of all her family and friends in the party room. We had to keep the bathroom stall open because both of us adults wouldn't have fit in the stall. I haven't even said anything about the food yet either though there doesn't need much to be said because it was terrible. I was left hungry and dissatisfied. I'm not even sure I ate real eggs for my BEC because my scrambled eggs were drowned in the strange cheese sauce. The bread that it was on was the end piece of a loaf. Who serves the end piece of a bread loaf? Safe to say that I don't ever need to come back here even if my child is all well and grown and won't need any changing table anymore. I'll definitely be remembering this restaurant experience as an immensely negative one in my life. P.S. To the staff - please do something about the two steps to the party room, if you need to have the host warn people about tripping on those steps every time someone walks by, you should probably have some physical marker to let people know.
We are here on Mother’s Day and it is a complete disaster. Very understaffed and we waited outside for nearly 45 minutes in the rain to get seated. No one knows what is going on. The food is cold and there are dirty silverware and cups everywhere. It is a complete disgrace and this establishment should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. Mothers Day 2024
Never in my life have I ever felt like I have been scammed before at a restaurant but the Valentine’s Day prices were outrageous. $98 for Salmon and another $17 for a salad that seemed like it was already included in the pre fix menu. Food was decent and service was very good but the prices felt borderline illegal.
Subject: Refund Request Due to Disappointing Dining Experience at Violette’s Cellar My girlfriend and I visited Violette’s Cellar and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. Despite a pleasant ambiance and courteous staff, specific requests were disregarded. I made it explicitly clear that I didn’t want any sauce on any of the dishes. However, the strip steak, cooked perfectly, was spoiled by an overpowering green sauce that didn’t complement the dish. Discovering a bone in the calamari was unexpected and concerning. Moreover, the whipped potatoes, which we expected to be regular mashed potatoes, were unexpectedly sweet, orange in color, and had an off-putting aroma. Additionally, the rice pudding, described as such, resembled warm cereal, not meeting our expectations. Furthermore, there seemed to be confusion or miscommunication about certain menu details during our visit. Given these multiple discrepancies during our dining experience, we kindly request a refund to address these issues. Thank you, Aldo Santos
