Great place with wonderful staff and excellent food. Jessica was the best! Food was delicious. Great setting as well.

Our lunch here was delightful. Lots of vegetarian options for my mom to choose from and something for everyone. Soups were hot and delicious. Our server was very nice and accommodating. The restroom was not accessible for my mom’s needs, so one of the employees took my folks across the street to use a different restroom! Above and beyond service for sure.

Came in tonight after the Syracuse game, didn’t think to make reservations but they were able to sit us at the bar. Bartender was very personable. The duck wontons were delicious but the salmon was the star of the show! Absolutely one of the most well cooked pieces of salmon I’ve ever had. And the portion size of the salmon was huge. Ambiance was amazing! Perfect date spot!

Absolutely lovely place. My friend and I stopped here on a whim because we needed space to feed her baby on a long long carride. The staff was so kind and accommodating, the food was spectacular and the lavender latte was heavenly. The atmosphere was great, music was great, lighting was just right and the furniture and setup was really cool. Will definitely return and highly recommend to others!

Today we had dinner. I can't rave enough about our server. She was so nice, funny and gracious. I had the Tuna special and my friend had the Tuscan pasta. We both were so happy with our meals. We started with the daily hummus special....fabulous. Of course we ordered the creme Brule to go. It's been several years since I've been to Phoebe's. The ambiance is upscale, bright and warm. Price point is moderate and worth every dollar. Again, special thanks to our server! We'll be back!

What a sweet little spot! Great atmosphere, excellent beverage choices. Fast service, generous portions with options to go large or small! I had the mushroom risotto and french onion soup. Fantastic!!!! My waitress was kind, efficient, attentive, and responsive. I was able to get sat right away even though it was quite busy on a Tuesday evening nearing 7 pm. Definitely give it a try!!

I had the most amazing bartender and met the GM who was fabulous. I’m in the industry as well and it was nice to get great customer service and great food/ beer. This place should be up for some kind of award! The Nashville sandwich is to die for!

We hosted the Syracuse University event at this location great food, great service, and I highly recommend the apple tart, all dishes were prepared well and loaded with flavor. Food was so good. I didn’t get to get too many pictures, but I did get a quick snap of this Alfredo, which was also very delicious.

Excellent, all around! The food was expertly crafted, carefully allergen free, and gorgeously plated! Our server was outstanding! Very attentive and got everything out with the greatest service we could expect. My only regret is that I didn't order dessert- but this is a great excuse to go back soon! If you are GF, they will happily take good care of you here- lots of interesting options for every course, and they are serious about making sure your food is safe for you, right down to the dipping sauces.

Stopped in after passing by phoebe's for months. It was worth the stop! The food was amazing! Hot and ready breakfast burritos. We came in with 4 people which overwhelmed the wait staff a bit as it's a simple coffee bar in the morning but it was worth it. Definitely looking forward to going back for lunch

In Syracuse and it's my birthday! Lived here for 14 yrs and I never went to Phoebe's. Service was some of the best I've had ever. No long pauses between drinks soup appetizers and entree. No rush to leave either! I ordered the soup of the day which was New England clam chowder and it was outstanding. Lots of clams, my husband ordered the sweet potato soup and being the meat and potato man that he is he surprisingly loved it. We also had the duck wonton for appetizers the sauce was sweet and spicy and very good. My husband and son had the special of quail. Though they said it was very good, generally an entree of quail contains 2 quail as they are small. It was well cooked. I had the autumn shrimp and I chose the smaller plate. I've never had fall spiced shrimp seasoned with nutmeg, all spice & cinnamon. Little different than I am accustomed to but I knew it would be! I ate all the shrimp but not all the vanilla jasmine rice. Definitely would go again next time in Syracuse.

Gorgeous restaurant inside. Our server was great. We went with a group of 5 people during lunch. I had easily the best wrap I’ve ever had. I have to imagine everything else on the menu is just as good. 5 out 5. Will absolutely be doing stairs more this week to justify the lunch I will have here next week. 😂

A fantastic place to lounge, eat, and drink! The vibe of the restaurant is very cozy and inviting. The handcrafted wooden bar is incredible. The building is filled with vibrant history! The food is fantastic, the drinks are great, and the employees are very kind. The effort put into the experience makes it one of Syracuse's must try restaurants!

Phoebe's Restaurant has operated on the corner of East Genesee and Irving Avenue since 1976. It's a favorite of theater goers who attend performances at Syracuse Stage across the street. However, Phoebe's is an excellent restaurant and deserves to be a destination on its own. Recently, I ordered a large Caesar salad with chicken for lunch. The chicken was plentiful, tender, and perfectly cooked. The romaine lettuce was crisp and fresh, and the croutons were airy and crunchy. My only disappointment was that the Caesar dressing could have been more flavorful . UPDATE-1: Returned for lunch and ordered the same salad. The Cesar dressing was improved. UPDATE-2: Returned again for lunch. My wife ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with a delicious onion aioli and a side of kettle chips. I ordered the turkey club on marbled rye with a side of excellent French fries. Included on the plate, was a very tasty slice of pickle. My sandwich had a pesto/parmesan aioli which I felt distracted from the taste of the turkey. Next time, I would request plain mayonnaise. Phoebe's is owned by the same group that owns the Sherwood Inn in Skaneateles. The Inn includes a restaurant which is one of the best places to eat in the Syracuse area for ambiance and food. UPDATE-3: We returned to this restaurant for dinner with friends. I started with a crock of French onion soup. It was delivered hot with melted cheese and a nicely seasoned flavorful broth containing thinly sliced caramelized onions. For my main course, I ordered the shrimp etouffee. It had a very generous amount of shrimp and diagonal slices of andouille sausage over wild rice and sauteed spinach. All of this was covered with a delicious gravy. The levels of Creole seasoning and spicy heat were just right. My wife enjoyed seared scallops with whipped sweet potatoes, root vegetable hash and surprisingly good crispy leeks. Our friends both enjoyed a salmon special. UPDATE-4: We took a friend here for lunch for her birthday. I started with French onion soup. The broth was great but there was an overload of soggy bread and few onions under a crust of delicious cheese. For my main I ordered the creole shrimp and vegetables over rice. The flavoring was excellent and the shrimp were perfectly cooked, but the vegetables were overcooked and the dish was delivered just above room temperature. So my experience was mixed on this visit. My wife did much better ordering the mushroom risotto. The mushrooms were delicious and the risotto was very hot and creamy. Our guest reported that her salmon dish was excellent. UPDATE-5: Had a steak dish with requested french fries in place of mashed potatoes. The steak, sauce, and french fries were excellent but the leeks were undercooked and inedible. UPDATE-6: Returned for a very enjoyable lunch. For an appetizer, we shared the flat bread of the day which included mushrooms, cheese and a bechamel sauce and a very crispy crust. Absolutely delicious. My wife feels this place has one of the best hamburgers available on Syracuse. You can customize by making changes from the menu description. I ordered chicken riggies with shrimp. It was good, but the competition for preparing this dish in Syracuse is quite keen.

This is such a cute and cozy place for a nice lunch. The architecture in this building is spectacular with such beautiful old details. The hubby was flying out to South Carolina for business so we decided to enjoy a lunch date with some drinks before he had to leave for the week. Phoebe's was the perfect choice. We started with the flat bread, the citrus goat cheese on this was amazing. I do think this needed a hot honey drizzle or a white balsamic drizzle to break up the richness of this dish but that's just an opinion it was still delicious. For drinks I got an espresso martini and the he got a spicy margarita they were both okay drinks but nothing spectacular. For lunch we got the quiche and the daily special of short ribs over penne pasta. The quiche was cooked perfectly so velvety and creamy. The short rib was nice and fork tender. The sauce on the pasta was a little thick and sperated but still had good flavor. For desert we got the creme brulee and flourless chocolate cake. The chocolate cake was kinda dry and the apricot sauce had no flavor so we definitely enjoyed the creme brulee more. In all a good meal and a hubby full of delicious food for his flight. I look forward to returning and trying out dinner one day.

Great spot with street parking near by. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The food was delicious, seasonal, and totally hit the spot! My husband had the New England Clam chowder, I had the butter nut squash soup and the quiche of the day. It was super yummy and the space is just beautiful!!

I went here for coffee and stayed for the food. To my surprise l, Alice knew how to make the elusive Cortado and it was excellent. Ciarra also provided excellent service. The special of Chicken/Broccoli Alfredo was a great choice. The size was a little small even for lunch, but had perfectly al dente and colorful broccoli, pasta was cooked nicely too. Not overly salted with a smooth and creamy sauce. I came back a month later and got the lunch burger. 8oz seemed small but it was very filling. I wasn’t sure about marscapone cheese so changed it out. Loved the flaky salt on the fries too. Looking forward to being in town again to try even more menu items. Note to self when I read this next visit and get 4 espresso shots and steamed 1/2 & 1/2: get the small cup

I love when you order a simple dish and it doesn’t disappoint. This Autumn Primavera had so much flavor with the vegetables, cheese and perfectly cooked pasta. They also have great coffee:). The server and the support staff were very kind and accommodating. This is a beautiful, clean restaurant in the heart of Syracuse.

Beautiful restaurant, the staff is attentive and kind, the food is so good! The duck I had for dinner was tender and crisp and the burger for lunch a few days later was juicy and perfect med rare. Definitely going again when I visit Syracuse again!

I love Phoebe's! It's my go-to place with out of town guests because the menu is so perfect (lunch or dinner!) They also make a KILLER cocktail The service is FAST (but not rushed!) and efficient. There's no long waits in between courses.

Phoebe’s hosts Katherine and Emily were BEYOND helpful in assisting with my best friend’s bridal shower. I have been to a lot of showers and there has never been that level of help, expertise and grace that they showed us. Lot of moving pieces and they were the answer to the puzzle. Ladies, don’t look any further for choosing your baby or bridal shower location, this is IT.

We just had our daughter’s baby shower here yesterday, and every detail was perfect. Food was delicious, and service was attentive without being intrusive. Prices were very reasonable for what was provided. We ordered dessert through sister store Patisserie bakery in Skaneateles, and it was delivered for us to the party before we arrived. 5 stars all around!

Whoever Phoebe is, give her my compliments! I had a great time here today after desperately looking for lunch before a college tour. The ambience is incredibly intriguing, with several differently-styled yet homogenous rooms with neat furniture. The main dining area was open and windowed and featured a fascinatingly large bar. However, the food is the shining star. Never have I had a better french onion soup! Usually, the broth is too salty or sweet but this place did it perfectly. It was comforting and delicious, with a perfectly balanced flavor. The bread was somehow still crunchy on the outside which I didn’t know was chemically possible. The cheese on top, crispy and garnished with finely chopped herbs, was divine. What’s more, it wasn’t overridden with onions. I also tasted the caesar salad with dressing that was “smooth, creamy, and bursting with flavor,” as my dining acquaintance put it. “Croutons were great,” she continued. A perfectly done caesar salad if you ask me. Shoutout to our server Morgan who was very nice.

I had another great meal with a friend tonight at Phoebe's Restaurant. The food was great but I had to truly thank the fabulous waitress/server we had. She said her name is Jennifer Caruana. I definitely wanted to leave a review. My friend & I were truly blessed to have her this evening before going to Syracuse Stage for their show. Many thanks for a great time tonight! See you again soon. Nina

Working at SU, I find myself at Phoebe’s often — and every single visit is delicious. My mom hosted my Baby Sprinkle here this past summer, and it was the perfect venue. The food and service were outstanding, the private room was beautiful, and the team made everything incredibly easy. (Plus, the parking is a true bonus!) Hosting a celebration at Phoebe’s made me appreciate it even more. Highly recommend.

We hosted my daughter’s baby shower here, and it could not have been more perfect! From the very beginning, the staff including Manager and Assistant Manager made everything stress-free and went above and beyond to make the day special. The event space was beautifully set up, warm, and inviting—the perfect atmosphere for celebrating with family and friends. The food was absolutely outstanding—every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Our guests are still raving about it! Service was exceptional; the staff was attentive, friendly, and genuinely cared about making sure everything went smoothly. I am so grateful to Phoebe’s for helping us create such a memorable day. We went here Saturday for a late valentines day dinner and it was good! For an app we got the fried artichoke which was delicious! I started with the brocoli cheddar soup which was a bit disappointing, it was more like blended brocoli broth- not creamy and no chunks of brocoli like I'm used to. The mains were good, the short rib was delicious and well cooked. The salmon was also well cooked, but the composition with the risotto and cooked greens topped with raw mushrooms was a bit confusing, decent flavor overall. The creme brulee was very good to finish off. Service could've been better, the server seemed new so I'll cut her some slack there. Overall this was a nice experience, the restaurant is beautiful inside and the food is good, we will definitely be putting this into our rotation.

Update, went with a large group of 11 people and had a very nice time. Food continues to be wonderful, the staff is kind, helpful and attentive and it's really nice inside. I'm going to add a short commentary at the very bottom if you're interested in the large group payment process, otherwise you can just read about the awesome stuff from previous visits as well... My wife and I have always enjoyed Phoebe's. Every time we have gone it's been such a pleasurable experience. Smooth, pleasant and quick service with really good to great food. Our most recent visit we had poutine, pork, duck, and berry tart. The holy cow that was fantastic awards goes to the poutine and tart, absolute must try options. The duck was cooked to perfection and my wife was thinking it may be one of the best she's ever had. The pork was very good, it had some wonderful juicy bites and also some dry ones though. Pork is my go to order and I've had better for sure, but that's not to be mistaken for how delicious it still was. We will continue to come back and enjoy it more in the future, I encourage you to do the same. Enjoy!! First off, Phoebe's makes it clear what their policy and process is for this. Some responsibility is with us as the patrons. Groups larger than 8 will get 18% gratuity added, cool I actually think that's great. Taking care of large groups deserves that and as noted our server was wonderful. Unfortunately, they will not split the check. As you may imagine, not splitting the check creates fun for everyone, math ensues, labeling of credit cards and how much on each, adding it up, who did the math wrong and so on, and then we hand our disaster of a system over to our server and I don't know how it works for them but it took awhile and I felt terrible that we weren't prepared with another method to make it easier on them, or they as a policy for whatever reason, can't, or don't split the checks to begin with to save customers and staff alike the headache. An added 18% gratuity on split checks is the same number as one giant check, without the mess, thankfully math is a hero in that regard. As the patron, cash might be easier but if you're like myself, cash on hand is more of a rarity in my life as time goes on. If someone has a nice credit limit on their card and everyone does Venmo or a money exchange of that nature, you may be better off using those methods and you would save yourself and their staff the headache as well.

Came here for a team lunch a few days ago, the place is beautiful and the staff was really friendly. Not much wait time, but a bit expensive.

Pretty decent food, great atmosphere! Clam soup had too many potatoes and not many clams. The spicy cheese curds were great! Humus was amazing. Our waitress was fantastic! Also had a great passion fruit something that was alcoholic and tasty. Drink portion was very generous.

My wife had the steak and I had the lamb burger. The steak was great and the burger was ok. Not super memorable but not bad!

Charming and cozy place with friendly and attentive personal. All dishes were tasty.

This place has been around since I was a kid and I have never gone inside or eaten there until last evening. All I can say now is that it was a mistake that I had never gone there. The first thing that catches your eye is the manner in which the place is decorated. The restaurant has so much character. Nestled in a historic Syracuse building, the restaurant has so much charm and character. From the skylighted, Atrium type centerpiece ceiling, to the split-level design, to the lacquered wainscoting in the bathrooms, Phoebe's is as much a showcase of beautiful interior decorating as it is a restaurant with good food. The place has private meeting rooms that can hold large parties in private areas and it has a generous sized dining room--Suprise for all of us who thought Phoebe's was just the small, green, garden restaurant on the corner. The menu choices are wide ranged and there is a good selection of beer, wine and spirits. This is a must visit restaurant and somewhat of a well-kept secret even though it's been right out in the open forever. Right there on the corner of Genesee and Irving, Phoebe's hides in plain sight with plenty of parking. The wait staff was friendly but, they tended to be very busy. The food was good, prtions ample and the atmosphere is great.

It’s a nice place, but their veggie burger is not the best I’ve had. No crispy elements, spicy but limited umami, boring roll. The sweet potato fries were great though. If you want veggie, probably go for their curry instead - at least I will try that next time.

Good food in a nice atmosphere. Walking distance from Syracuse campus makes it a nice option for parents taking students out for a good meal during campus visits. Has a fun and eclectic vibe that feels a little forced to be honest.

Phoebe’s is warm and cozy with a great view. The interior is inviting with lush green plants and red brick walls. The servers are friendly and attentive. The Sandwich was dry and the fries were on the salty side. This was the best hot chocolate I’ve had in Syracuse.

Beautiful restaurant with several areas to seat. Friendly service. Great location. Small lunch menu yet with good healthy options, and with daily specials. Everything we had was wonderful: presentation and taste. Good quiche, great salmon, tasty ahi tuna, superb desserts.

If you are in Syracuse and close to the University this is a must go place. Very nice ambience and I guess a lot of history to this place. I tried the Salmon and my daughter tried the Ceaser Salad with Grilled Chicken . Both were fresh and well made. The portions were right for brunch. Definitely deserves a second visit . Update 5/11/25 Went back to Phoebes for the nth time Great food We had the Tuscan pasta with Portabella mushrooms and shrimp Also we tried the salmon dish again with the wild rice and the chicken ceaser salad Food as always delicious and fresh It definitely a must go place if you are in Syracuse

Cool place, great service. The French Onion soup was a hug for my soul. I had the special of the day; Broccoli Quiche with pepper jack cheese. While the quiche was super thick, there wasn’t a hint of pepper jack cheese. It was disappointing because the quiche seems to be one of the foundational dishes. Observing some of the other dishes other patrons ordered, I wish I had chosen something different. Regardless, the Bloody Mary & the bartender were delightful & the atmosphere made up for the meh quiche. Would try this place again.

A friend and I recently had dinner at Phoebe’s upon her suggestion. I have visited the establishment before but it had been many years ago. It’s a quaint restaurant near SU and Syracuse stage. She was already seated at the bar when I arrived, we both enjoyed a Prosecco. We had reservations in the Atrium room but decided to eat at the bar. She ordered a salad and I escargot. They were promptly delivered and we ordered entrees Atlantic Salmon for her and Skirted Steak for myself. Both were good I felt like the salmon could have some type of flavoring to bring the dish altogether. The skirted steak was a pleasant meal as well, I enjoyed the garlic sauce that was unique. It didn’t have quite the flair that some of the newer downtown restaurants but is a solid oldie but goodie! Also more reasonably priced than some newer competitors.

Lovely cafe & restaurant in Syracuse with welcoming staff and good service. I had a delicious French onion soup to start. For the entree I had the salmon dish and asked for medium and to be served with double vegetables instead. The dish was ok, I didn't really enjoy the flavor of the salsa verde and the fish was cooked well done. However, the plate presentation was really pretty and they did comp a bit off the price since I only ate a few bites. I was still hungry so I ordered the spinach salad, it was tasty. I also ordered a dirty chai with a shot of espresso and I'm fairly certain they forgot the shot because it wasn't on my bill. Overall, a pretty good meal with a few hiccups but I'd definitely give them another try when I'm in the area.

Well our restaurant experience started off with a confused how can I help you at the host stand, which we responded we’d like to eat? Odd, the place was bigger than expected inside, very nice but has a funny smell. We ordered the potato leek soup it was good, artichoke appetizer was decent. We had burgers for an entree they were pretty good but not as described on menu. Service was very dry and she didn’t crack a smile once, she actually got mad at us for dropping our to go containers twice and stormed off. Won’t return but decent food and atmosphere

Pasta dishes were bland. Paid extra for chicken and found 2 small pieces of chicken in the entire dish. Very disappointed.

Beautiful restaurant! My daughter and I had reservations before seeing Anastasia at the Landmark Theater. We were seated at a very nice table for two but had to wait 20 minutes for our waitress to take our drink order. When she returned we ordered. My daughter had the beef tenderloin cooked medium rare, cooked perfectly, with all its sides. I ordered the shrimp and ramen. It was passable. Truly the shrimp, bok choy, and beef/pork were very good but the Ramen broth had some kind of thickener that ruined the meal. Our service was 2 stars at best. We'll try it again before passing judgement.

Typical “ladies who lunch” venue. Clean but dated in style. The menu left me wanting. I ordered a burger and fries with No bun. This was unremarkable. Served with two homemade sauces neither of which I liked ( very sweet) I also ordered ice tea which was mediocre. Overall I wasn’t impressed.. on line menu wasn’t accurate and some things weren’t available.

My grilled cheese sandwich looked great when it was served. After one bite, I realized that the other side of the sandwich was burnt and blackened. I am shocked that the kitchen would send food out of the kitchen like that. It makes me wonder what other questionable foods are being served.

I came in for coffee, since they bill themselves as a coffee lounge. Was told their espresso machine is broken. These things happen but was super disappointing. Nobody up front to greet and seat me or another couple ahead of me. I only came in for coffee and light fare, so sat at the bar. Several bar spots were sitting with dirty dishware and no evidence of the former occupants, so it had been a while. This was after dinner rush at about 7:15. Neither of the two bartenders welcomed me in or even looked my way. I ordered French onion soup. Every bistro should be able to nail this simple staple. It was flat, lacked complexity, and the cheese seemed old and flavorless. No stretch and no rich cheese flavor, it was like plastic. It was blackened on top instead of crisped brown. The soup itself was passable, and the croutons had a little crunch. The soup was maybe 3.5 out of 5, nowhere near what I was hoping for. The drip coffee was thankfully okay. I would have appreciated if the bartender didn't try to upsell me on coffee based mixed drinks after I asked for regular espresso. Also, how do you have espresso for cocktails but not for an actual hot espresso drink of any kind? The Phoebe's salad was pretty good. Fresh and crispy. The table bread was served cold but was a decent sourdough. Price was average, a little steep for the overall lack of quality. Just very disappointing. Not planning to run back soon. EDIT 3/9/24 I decided to give this another try for my Birthday dinner. Service was great (it was a kind of slow night) and 4 of 5 dinner dishes were perfect. Thank you Phoebes will be back.

My husband and I went here for a date night. We had a good time, but upon walking in it smelled like wet dog. Might have been the clam being sold that night, or maybe it’s just the smell of the entry way? Not sure. But once we got to our seats it was fine. The food is good, but nothing crazy. I had their steak, and my husband had the lamb sandwich. The steak definitely stood out. The chimmichurri sauce on top was excellent. The lamb sandwich was just nothing super special. My husband ended up wishing he got the steak as well. The atmosphere is charming, with a home-like feel. There was a bridal shower going on in the upper room in the restaurant but didn’t bother us at all. We could hear each other fine and had a lovely evening. I will say, I got a cocktail off their specials menu and was blown away. It was a peach mixed drink and I highly recommend. The service was also incredible. Waitress was very attentive and did a great job checking on us. All in all, not a waste and still a nice evening but not a place that we will likely return to any time soon.

This restaurant is a really nice place to dine with a group of friends. I met up with a business partner here, and she made a reservation, which was amazing considering I was new in the area, and it seemed the place was jam-packed when I arrived. But I have to say when I arrived the host WAS AMAZING VERY FRIENDLY and it seemed that she was waiting for me, because when I arrived she knew exactly what to do and showed me the young lady. But this is where everything went left somewhat. We asked for a virgin mojito, and she told me they didn't have any mint. We asked her if they had any virgin drinks, and she said yes, soda, water, or juice. Mind you, they have a bar in this establishment, but they had no mocktails. So I went with an orange juice, considering this was brunch/ lunch. When she came back with our drinks she told us the soup special and the meal specials. After she told us that we said thank you. And then she turned around to say "we do not have any fried chicken" I looked at my friend and she looked at me and I chuckled and said to the young waitress "That's fine because I don't believe we asked you for fried chicken." I continued to laugh. She walked away from the table after I said that. My friend stated she might have said that because we are the only people in this establishment that are black. I said ohh ok, that's fine, we have money just like them." But this is what happened next, SMH.. We ordered our food and when my food arrived my fish sandwich was disgusting. It was not seasoned at all they just deep-fried it and put it on bread with lettuce tomatoes and onions. I sent my food back because there was no way I could eat it it just didn't taste right. So I ordered a cheeseburger medium, well 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️another lady, not our waitress, brought my burger, and the cheeseburger was well down slightly burnt, meaning one side was more burnt than the other side. But considering I was hungry, I tried to scrap off the brunt parts so I could eat it. My fries were good. But everything else was not. Before we left, consider I am a TA, and I do Google reviews as well. I checked out the rest of the restaurant, and I have to say they had some really nice areas as you entered the restaurant. Good places to take pictures and share your experience. I will share it under this review. So the best part was the wonderful greeting that I received, my orange juice being good, the character of the restaurant. But I wouldn't recommend this place for BLACK PEOPLE TO EAT HERE. I guess they believe we only eat FRIED CHICKEN. BECAUSE OF THAT PER THE WAITRESS AND THE COOK, I GUESS MY FOOD WASN'T SUPPOSE TO BE GOOD So I would not recommend this place. I don't live in Syracuse. I was here for business. This location came up to be a good place to eat at so we decided to dine here. But I WONT BE COMING BACK AND I WILL NOT RECOMMEND IT EITHER.

Stopped in for coffee and a breakfast sandwich. They offered different options for bread, but did not have some. Requested the egg be scrambled. It wasn’t. Chose cheddar, got Swiss. No salt available, wait staff unavailable. Order done electronically, yet they still inquire about tip, giving suggested amount. Food was mediocre. The restaurant is quaint and clean. Better than some, but nothing special for the amount charged. Positive I won’t be returning.

So....it is a VERY cute place. Cons: Bread pudding is dry cubes of bread with a fruit drizzle Caesar dressing has stiff peaks, qualifies for the Dairy Queen Blizzard quality guarantee, and tastes like anchovies (see pics) Honey cinnamon latte was not sweet Black bean burger tastes like one large unseasoned-yet-somehow-spicy pureed black bean Pros: The bread is delicious (perhaps part of the warm olive appetizer?) The warm olive appetizer was great The croutons are awesome. They have recess coffee, which is always delicious. The gingerbread latte also does not come sweetened by default. I loved the creme brulee but it is very sweet.

Food wasn’t bad. But to me, bad customer service can make the food taste worse than it actually is. I felt very unwelcome by the waitress Emily R. I tried to get her attention 3 times and she clearly saw me and ignored me. I had to yell to get her attention. She also didn’t check if I needed anything all night. When I wanted lemon and more bread, I had to get up and call another waitress to get her for me. However, she was extremely attentive to the white girls next to me. I come from NYC where it’s way more diverse and every race treats every other race with respect. Ive never been treated that way ever in my town.Actually, I’ve never been treated that way period. This is the first time I’ve experienced racism first hand so I’m gonna call it out. I know this is a predominantly white area, but ya’ll need to get out more to learn how to treat others with respect regardless of race. Btw I’m an Asian American woman. To close, I’m not the type to completely discount a place because of one person’s shortcomings. I would like to come here again and try the other food options. Hopefully, next time I’ll be treated with respect. . -Kat
