As a longtime resident of the colony, this IHOP was my safe Harbor in the middle of the night after getting off shift work at Dave & Buster’s would stop at this IHOP. I have some pancakes with some friends and then go home for the night. Janet is the very best server if you ever get to either IHOP and Janet is on shift ask for Janet she is the best

One of my favorite place in The Colony, Texas. The server (Miriam) provides excellent service; beautiful smile, very energetic and always on point to refill my coffee.

It was about a 30-minute wait to be seated as it was crowded, but it was well worth the wait. The restaurant was clean and the food was great! I got the 2x2x2 which comes with two pancakes, two slices of bacon, and two eggs. My friend got the turkey dinner, which comes with a generous portion of turkey, mashed potatoes and broccoli and cranberry sauce. Everything tasted great and clean! The person who served us was also very nice despite being so busy. I really wish the one closer to my house was much more like this one!

Ihop is clearly striving to improve their service. My father in law wanted to have his birthday celebration here and told Miriam, one other long time servers there. She personally oversaw the decorations and made everyone feel so special, especially him. She also personally took our orders and served the food. She got her husband to come in and cook and the manager to come in. The food was superb and delivered in a very timely fashion even though there were over 20 people to serve. We were very pleased and satisfied with the service and how personalized including posters, sign in book and his own table for receiving gifts. Great job!! Thank you so much

Server was wonderful, but she informed me that IHOP is discontinuing their gluten free pancakes. This is VERY disappointing and will prevent us from eating at IHOP in the future. NOT OK!!!!

My son really wanted some pancakes, so we came here for Breakfast for Dinner around 5pm. After walking in, we were quickly greeted by Shawndel, who told us we could sit anywhere we wanted in a section. Shawndel was literally the only staff in the front of the restaurant. There was also only one couple dining at the time we were seated. Shawndel took our drink orders, and quickly came back with our drinks, around this time, an older couple walked in and he seated them. He came back and took our food order. My son ordered the Create Your Own pancakes, my daughter had the 2x2x2, and my fiancé and I both had a short stack of the original pancakes. While we waited for our food. Several other people entered the restaurant. The restaurant was clean and smelled great. When our food arrived at the table, everything looked delicious. My daughters scrambled eggs looked good, and her bacon looked just like they did on the menu. My pancakes were fluffy and tasted great, they really hit the spot. My son really enjoyed decorating his pancake before he devoured it. We really had a great visit. The restaurant was getting busy, and Shawndel did a fantastic job being the hostess, server, table busser, and food delivery man all by himself. We were pretty impressed at how he was able to handle the whole restaurant with grace. He was very kind, and maintained his great customer service with every customer who came in. The cook also did a great job cooking our food, it was a great visit. We will definitely return to this IHOP again.

I love breakfast from here. Scrambled cheesy eggs and regular pancakes are my go-to order. If I had to offer up a suggestion of change, it would be to scramble the cheese along with the eggs instead of melting the cheese in at the very last.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Had a great time at IHOP today! 🍽️ Unlike many places these days, they actually had salt and pepper on the table, which was a pleasant surprise! 🧂👏 My wife and I both ordered the Breakfast Sampler 🍳🥓, which came with 2 eggs, 2 bacon strips, 2 pork sausage links, 2 pieces of ham, hash browns, and two buttermilk pancakes. I switched my bacon for two extra sausages and upgraded my pancakes to the Cinn-A-Stack 🥞😋, while my wife went for the Double Blueberry pancakes 🫐🥞. This visit really revitalized our hope in IHOP as it was our first time back in 4-5 years! 🎉😊 Everything tasted great, the portions were generous, and we left full and happy. 🍽️👍 We'll definitely be back sooner this time! 😄

I have had no major issues with this location until today and unfortunately its the Door Dash delivery person that was trash. They delivered spilled beverages that were half full onto other beverages and shakes were the consistency of water. So I'm not changing my original rating due to the one person screwing it up who doesn't work for IHOP but you need to know the kind of people who are representing your company. We were there at around 5:30 pm. No one was at the front desk to take our seat. Multiple tables (4-5) still had the last persons food on display as shown in the images I've included. The food that was served was cold, which took around 20-30 mins to get to us. Once we were done eating, our waitress disappeared and we had to ask the other waitress where they went. Not good. Mostly on the service side. To start, I ordered the beef tips and eggs. The waitress didn't know that hash browns came with it. My wife ordered the New York cheese cake pancakes. Her order came out as regular pancakes with strawberries and whip cream. We asked the waitress about it and she swore the these pancakes were the New Yorks. Next my meal came out without the mushrooms. Not sure if that was a service or kitchen issue. In the pictures below: the top one is my wife's. Notice there are no dents of cream cheese on or around it. The bottom is I HOP's New York cheese cake pancakes. Notice the white dents of cream cheese. As a wait person you should be trained to check your products before giving them to the customer. I HOP may need to do some retraining. By the way, we didn't see any manager at all checking on customers.

This review is specifically for lack of staff training at this location. I hope this review will save other customers some frustration and also help management improve their service. I placed a to-go order “over the phone” and the staff didn’t seem to have any idea how the old style phone orders work anymore. They have order pickup shelves where pickup orders are left for customers to pick them up. But that would only work for pre-paid orders (like DoorDash or grubhub). It would not work for orders placed over the phone which are unpaid yet. I arrive at the restaurant and ask for picking up my order and the front desk person blindly points me to the order pickup shelves and tells me it’ll be there when it’s ready. I mentioned to them that I haven’t paid for my order yet and they didn’t seem to have a clue how to process that. They said let me call a specialist to talk to you. If we need a specialist to check the status of an order then something is seriously wrong. After waiting for several more minutes ( 50 minutes since I placed the order) I called their phone line and asked where is my order. They said oh it’s ready let me bring it out. It’s been sitting in the kitchen all the time I was waiting outside. Fellow customers if you place a phone order just call the number once you reach there and tell them you’re here to pick up. It’ll save you a lot of time. Dear management, please train your staff on basics. DoorDash and Uber Eats have only been around for a decade . There are many customers who still place orders over phone. Finally their menu says 6 triangles for original French toast and all I got in my order was a single slice of thick bread. I’ll just assume that was a one time error but front desk definitely needs training

My recent visit to IHOP was nothing short of underwhelming. The food was of poor quality, lacked any real flavor, and tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp far too long. "Warm" would be generous — most of it was barely lukewarm, and certainly not fresh. The restaurant itself was in terrible condition, particularly the restrooms. It looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in years. Mold in the urinals, filthy sinks, and an overall sense of neglect made the experience even worse. To top it off, the HVAC system looked like a fire hazard waiting to happen — exposed components and a concerning amount of dust buildup. It’s honestly shocking this place is still open in that condition. Needless to say, I will not be returning. Good luck if you decide to give it a try. The server was good and attentive at least.
