We’ve been dining at this restaurant for over six years, and it’s consistently excellent. The food is always fresh and delicious, the service is polite and attentive, and the prices are unbeatable.
We hadn't visited Karma in years, for whatever reason, but we got a coupon in the mail for half off an entree, and we decided to go. I ordered the veggie tikka masala and my wife ordered the veggie korma. After tasting the korma, I found it to be creamier than the tikka masala, but I enjoyed the tikka masala more. We ordered both dishes at medium spicy, which turned out to be equivalent to mild. Next time, we'll order it spicy (3rd level). We ordered hot chai and an 805 beer, along with sides of garlic naan and vegetable pulao rice (a spicy veggie fried rice). The naan was delicious, and the pulao rice was very flavorful, too, but a bit too oily. The dish containing the rice was glistening in oil. We really enjoyed Karma's food, and we will return. It wasn't as expensive as we thought it would be k even without the coupon) because we had checked their online menu from a delivery site that adds a percentage to every dish for delivery fees. So we were supposed to find their prices were $2-3 lower per dish. Keep that in mind when checking restaurant menus online. Check out the appetizing photos of our dishes.
The short version: 10/10. If you value what you eat, and you want to eat something delicious, go to Karma The longer version: Throughout the years, I’ve tried out several Indian restaurants throughout Ventura and have been delighted as many times as I’ve been disappointed. Other options have missed the mark on the spice level and overall flavor, but Karma has stood out as arguably the best tasting Indian food in Ventura County. Our order: Haryali Paneer Kebab - comes with rice, delicious creamy spinach-based sauce Paneer Tikka Masala- rich and flavorful gravy with terrific, not bland paneer Disco Naan- if you’re used to getting chili naan, but want something better, try this instead. Our waiter suggested it and it was phenomenal Value: We are used to spending $30 per person (including tip) when we get Indian food, but our meal + a larger tip came out to $25 per person. Quality: Price, however, is not the only thing that matters. The naan was fresh, the sauces incredible, and the paneer was delicious. The restaurant prides itself on the 4 generations of culinary experience and it shows. Service: I am a sucker for great customer service and everyone (our waiter, the busy boy, the owner) ensured we were taken care of. There’s no surprise why they have stuck around for so long. I am still reliving the experience and I look forward to the next time at Karma.
Delicious food and intimate atmosphere. It was our first time in and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. We will definitely be back.
Have been frequenting here nowadays and can certainly say they offer some of the best food and hospitality anywhere around the area. If you are in the area, this is a must visit !! There’s not been a single visit when I have been disappointed after my food here. I’ve had it all - breakfast (some of the best Paratha and Bhaturas), lunch (a la carte and thali) and dinner. Have even visited for snacks at times ;) You should definitely try (have anything but do not miss) their signature paneer dish, saag chicken, chicken tikka masala, lamb seekh kabab and not to forget hot, spicy, funky, dancing disco naan
When I came in here the atmosphere was great one of the city’s boy came in told me here “you get what you deserve” and lil Wayne came out of no where and some kid was where did you find tha nes for Nintendo switch
We’ve tried a handful of Indian cuisine in the area and this one is by far the best, consistently. Great food and service and the buffet can’t be beat.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Hidden Gem for Indian Food Lovers! Karma Indian Cuisine absolutely exceeded my expectations! From start to finish, the experience was fantastic. The highlight? Tawa Chicken – it’s not even on the menu, but it needs to be. It’s a total flavor bomb – rich, perfectly spiced, and served sizzling hot. If you’re visiting, don’t miss the chance to ask for it! Beyond that, every dish we tried was delicious – bursting with authentic flavors and clearly made with care. The service was friendly, and the ambiance was warm and welcoming. This place is a must-stop for any food lover, whether you’re craving bold Indian flavors or just want to try something new and memorable. Highly recommend!
Dining at Karma was a fulfilling experience. I ordered Saag Paneer and Tava Chapati, both were very well made. Rice Kheer, the sweet dish was exquisitely prepared - creamy, lightly sugared, with a subtle hint of saffron. My mother liked the vegetarian Thali, while my uncle and aunt appreciated the Butter Chicken and Kulfi. All of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal and are thankful to Chef Harvinder and the Karma team, for bringing an authentic taste of home to the US.
I visited Karma during their all you can eat buffet on a Friday, and the food was delicious and fresh. The restaurant itself was beautifully decorated and had a lovely ambiance. Relaxing music, quiet and calming energy throughout. The staff was attentive and courteous. I would definitely recommend Karma Indian cuisine if you are looking for a delicious and delightful experience in Thousand Oaks.
The flavors and aromas of the food were each unique and delicious, each one with a different spice(s) as its main note. Variety of vegetarian and meat dishes as well as dessert, sauces and warm and cold dishes (mostly warm). The restaurant is clean and cozy yet spacious with a warm and friendly staff. Definitely returning!
One of the best Indian restaurants around. The staff are all so attentive and friendly and the food is amazing (especially at those prices)! I’ll be recommending this restaurant to everyone I know who comes to visit Thousand Oaks.
I recently had Indian food here and it was such a great experience! The flavors were bold, authentic, and beautifully balanced—the kind of food that warms you from the inside out. The curries were rich and aromatic, the naan was perfectly soft with just the right char, and the spices were layered in a way that made every bite exciting without being overwhelming. The service was friendly and attentive, and the staff took the time to explain dishes and make recommendations, which I really appreciated. The atmosphere felt welcoming, perfect for a casual dinner, but still nice enough for a special night out.
This place is the real deal. I am a fan of real Indian food and this place makes the mark. The dishes are authentic. The service is excellent. Prices are exceptionally good. The staff is professional. I don't bother with the other "Want to be" restaurants.
This place is so awesome. Dark wood interior gives it an antimate and cozy vibe. The atmosphere is perfect for a quiet couples night or a memorable small family gathering. We had samosas for appetizer (perfectly fried), lamb madrasi, and shrimp mango. The shrimp mango honestly was one the best dishes we've ever had. It felt like some Indian equivalent of Honey Walnut Shrimp, but honestly way way better. We were literally scraping the mango sauce off the plate with our garlic naan. We can't wait to come back on a rainy day and have some hot chai. This place is the most inviting and warm spot. We live right next door so can't wait to make another stroll down to Karma.
My waiter sagar was very nice and always made sure my drink was always full.. the food was great and price for an all u can eat lunch buffet is a great deal $18
This is a nice place for a meal. The service is always great - the staff genuinely feels appreciative for your business, which these days is so uncommon it almost takes some getting used to. But the attention to detail, the desire to make sure you have what you need, Karma delivers on that. I will say, the food is... Alright. It's not my favorite in the area, but it's certainly not bad. If you like spicy food, they offer a chili paste with a lot of flavor and bite that is really nice. For lunch, the combos are a great deal and you get a lot of different flavors. Lots of vegetable options as well as meat.
Absolutely wonderful experience at this Indian restaurant! The flavors were incredibly rich and authentic, and the service was great. The buffet was a highlight, offering a wide variety of dishes to sample, all of which were fresh and delicious. The restaurant itself was spotless and well-managed, adding to the overall ambiance. The menu is extensive, with plenty of options to suit every taste. I highly recommend this gem in Thousand Oaks. It’s truly one of the best Indian restaurants I've had the pleasure of visiting, from coast to coast! 5 stars isn't enough - I'd give it 10 stars if I could! 😊👏
The best Indian food! So fresh and flavorful. Beautifully presented. Plenty for another meal. Reasonably priced.
Awesome Indian restaurant. The only Indian restaurant in Thousand Oaks worth spending on. We visit every month at least. Enjoy the unlimited Indian Buffett with loads of tasty delights on Friday Saturday and Sunday. The owners will take great care of you. Must visit place in Thousand Oaks.
One of the BEST indian food I have had in the USA! Everything is so authentic in taste, you’ll surely love it! They do ask for spice palette and you can order as per that. We order medium- spicy. Service was super amazing and the staff were super courteous and polite! Huge menu options and variety of both the vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. Been twice in two days and we ordered reshmi chicken, chicken do pyaza, garlic naan, tandoori roti, mango lassi, gajar halwa and gulab jamun. Every preparation was mouth watering and the naans were super soft and tasty. Chicken was perfectly cooked unlike some places where they cook it slightly raw. And finallyyyy, found the real gajar ka halwa! Ambience was beautiful and aesthetic! Place was very clean and well kept!
My friend took me to this place for their Sunday brunch. It’s one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to affordable, clean, and absolutely worth it.
Love this place my mom and I have been coming here for years (I am not sure if it has always been the same owners). Since our last visit my mom has had an accident where she now has to use a cane, and when they noticed my mom has a disability they went out of their way to assist her. While we waited they gave her a chair to sit on and they offered to carry her plates to the table since it is a buffet. I can't show enough gratitude for the way they did not make my mom feel unwelcome. Food was excellent! Lunch special buffet $16.99!! AMAZING 💕
Brought my family of six plus Mother-In-law to eat at their Buffet. But once we arrived the Buffet was closed and decided to order family style and we had an Excellent Experience. My kids who are typically picky was satisfied with all the entrees we selected. And the Wonderful Service was nothing short of Exceptional!! We left Karma Happy, Full, and and Delighted to have eaten Delicious Indian cuisine.

The food was delicious and the service was incredibly friendly! I had the tadka daal and it was the perfect consistency and balance of spices! Will definitely come here again!

My wife and I had the greatest experience here at Karma Indian cuisine. Every dish was perfection. The flavors, textures, and aromas is an experience like no other. Highly recommend, we will be back soon! Thank you again
Been coming here for several years, and it’s by far the best Indian food I’ve ever had and the service is great! 10/10 would recommend
Customer service was so warm, very hospitable. And the food was INCREDIBLE. Definitely coming back we had mango juice, buttered chicken and chicken Tikka masala
Wonderful place, warm and welcoming people, and extraordinary food. Coming here for years and sad that I can no longer visit after moving thousands of miles away. Also had a great catering experience with Bobbie. Very highly recommended. You are missed. Thank you for years of great experiences with your magical foods...Stephen (formerly in Somis)
Visiting from the UK and ended up going to Karma three or four times during our trip — that alone says everything. The food is outstanding, but the paneer manchurian deserves a special mention… I’d never had it before and I genuinely cannot stop thinking about it. Absolutely incredible. The restaurant is very family-friendly, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the service is amazing — attentive, kind, and always with a smile. Every visit felt just as special as the first.
My husband and I have been coming here for several years. We found Karma by accident. Its unassuming exterior in a strip mall obscures the fact that this restaurant is truly a local gem. The Owners take great care in not only impeccable service and clean restaurant, but the food is the best Indian cuisine we have had. We moved from Chicago and had amazing meals of every culinary type while living there. Karma beats every Indian restaurant in Chicago, and that is saying a lot. Chicken Tikka Masala. Perfect. Mixed Grill. An exquisite choice. And our favorite, Butter Lamb. So many flavors of naan, we order a different version each visit. Can’t say enough good things other than if you enjoy trying new places, this needs to be on top of your list. Would have taken photos, but was so excited to dig in, forgot to take them! So you just need to go and try Karma for yourself!

People were nice and the service was quick and kind. Weird thing that I do have to point out and I am not sure if it's because of covid or not. Asked for water and got served bottled water. I just went with it and then saw the charge on the bill at the end. Kind of weird to do without ever mentioning it. Got the samosa, chicken tikka masala, lamb rogan josh, garlic naan, and disco naan. Samosas were great. CTM and rogan josh were delicious. I would opt to get the garlic naan over the disco naan. There's too much happening on the disco naan.
Very good meal. 4 of us shared rogan josh, chicken tikka, aloo gobi, sag paneer, dal makhani, a few breads, saffron rice, channa masala. Plenty to eat, everything served hot, and very tasty.
Few items are good. Chicken curry was awesome, but chicken tandoori was not spicy at all. I was looking for spicy.
Karma is by far the best Indian restaurant in the Conejo Valley. Bobbie is the Chef! The best experience comes from their Friday Saturday Sunday buffet where you are treated to an excellent variety of curries and assorted Indian dishes and delicacies. Truly innovative cuisine complete with an Indian fruit and salad bar. Excellent service.

I went in a sat for lunch, was excited to have a nice Indian meal. The waiter encouraged me to get the buffet. When I started eating all the food was cold. Taste was very bland. I told the waiter, I also spoke with the manager and his response was that they had already turned off the hot tables. I said well the food was cold could I have a discount. He continued to give me lies like, “ you just didn’t stir the food before you served it, he said all buffets can get cold, he said as a manager he couldn’t give me a discount.” Then proceeded to charge me 17.99 for a plate of old, mushy, cold Indian food. He lied and said he couldn’t discount the food and that their POS system couldn’t add discount! What lies! I told him he was in the hospitality industry and for 9$ he just lost a customer. What a liar, bland food, and bad service! Won’t be back.
The service and atmosphere were great! We had lunch special. My order of malai kofta came with rice, naan, dhal, curry, and a sweet. The malai kofta tasted great. The rest of the items were just ok. The staff was very polite and pleasant! Great value for the money!

My parents wanted to purchase food for my husband and I, so we didn't have to cook for a couple days. I'm definitely grateful for food. The problem was it was not good at all. The potatoes were very undercooked still crunchy. There was hardly any chicken in it and when you find it there was cartilage in my chicken making it unpleasant to chew. The thought of it is making my stomach turn. There was also a strange odor coming from the food again not very appetizing it was overpowering the delicious spices you would normally smell in Indian food. Will most likely not eat here ever again and tell my parents no thank you if they offer to buy food from here. I rather cook..
I had aloo Tikki and Samosa Chaat Masala and both taste poor Specially The latter one. It didn't even taste like samosa at all. Leaves a very bad taste in mouth. I won't recommend ordering it.
Come here if you want to face racism… special services tables guaranteed if you’re not an Indian… Sardar uncle will come and kick you out of the restaurant just because we had only tea I guess that was some hidden condition mentioned in the management rule book… didn’t even let us finish the drink… “karma” returns don’t worry
Do NOT eat here unless you're extremely hungry and nowhere else to get Indian food! I understand California prices but the prices were outrageous! $23 for a dinner plate? Really? It only had 2 curries and weren't even enough of a portion size! They wouldn't even give 1 refill of any of the curries (in a full plate) Eaten better Indian food in a flight to Indian. Not even the Veggies were cooked to full. I've eaten better food on airplanes than here!
